    I bought mine cause as a drive away trucker I bring my bedding with me in every tractor I sleep in (new or used). This way, I can ensure I'm sleeping in my own bedding. I can fly with it and put it in baggage. I can sit on it rolled while waiting for a taxi as well.

    Family has 6 of these bad boys. We love them for so many different aspects. Gotta get the mesh system too. We use them on our hunts where we take our horse or Bakcou bikes, use them in our enclosed trailer on a cot, and scout camps with the youth. So many uses. Well done Seth and team!

    If I had a suggestion... a flap of canvas along one side or both on bottom for taking off shoes... maybe a window or vent if u don't want to unzip

    • @The.Good.Place.
      @The.Good.Place. 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Technically that would be pointless consider you can open a flap at the head as a window and I like the canvas along the bottom, but that doesn't really need to be made of canvas you coukd lay a tarp or something. Canvas is actually not designed specifically for cleanliness or absorbance of dirt so it would be a waste of material and increase prices especially for the first few months to pay off having to redesign and sell out previous designs

    I recently bought the Dominator, the Mesh, and the full length pole system. Didn't get the foam as I'm traveling to Argentina in January and will be there for some time. The Dominator by itself rolls up tightly enough to easily fit in a 130 liter duffel I have with plenty of room for other gear.
    I like the tent like experience of the full pole system. The sides in the middle sag in a bit so came up with a solution. Took two wooden suit hangers, cheap from Walmart, took electrical tape and wrapped two lines on the top of the hanger and on the bottom thick enough to form a notch on top and bottom. Lined up the notches on the ridge pole between the ridge pole and canvas. Weight of canvas holds the hangars securely against the ridge pole and the hangars spread out the canvas cover nicely. Makes a roomy little tent.
    If it's really cold take a look at the Crua Culla Solo. It needs to be covered in bad weather so it inside the Dominator would work well. The advantage is you could use it instead of a sleeping bag and have space inside to comfortably read, look at a phone or tablet, etc without being huddled under a bag. And it has air poles so instead of setting up the pole system can just quickly air it up. Plan to be winter camping and I know with a good bag you can be comfortable in the Dominator but if it's 5° outside it will still be pretty cold inside. The insulated Solo will take comfort to the next level paired with the Dominator.

      The suit hanger situation is what Steve Rinella would refer to as a "HOT TIP". Adding those to my shopping list, great idea, thank you!

    I’ve watched the “Bronks and Donks” episodes featuring the Canvas Cutters. Now I know more than they have shown. Maybe when I sell my 35’ travel trailer, I’ll invest in a Canvas Cutter? Might really need it in addition to continue hunting elk in the back country. PS yes, I have horses and mules to get into the back country, just didn’t have an answer to my boys “Come-on Dad, let’s go hunt-in”. Now, I know what to do- thanks for the effort! DAButler

    I’ve always wanted one of these, not hating but what makes this worth the extra money compared to a Montana canvas or roamin homes bedroll cover?

    • @CanvasCutter
      @CanvasCutter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question Wyatt, thanks for asking. There are several significant differences that make it an easy decision really. Here are just a few.
      Other Bedrolls: Almost all other bedrolls on the market, including those you mentioned are made from traditional duck canvas, which is good canvas, but if you touch traditional canvas when it gets wet it wicks, and since you are laying it you are obviously going to get wet. This in our opinion defeats one of the main reasons for owning the product.
      Canvas Cutter: Canvas Cutter uses a ply-weave canvas (which is stronger than duck canvas) that has a water-resistant coating on the outside and a breathable P.U. coating on the inside. Which maximizes the breathability of the canvas while making it nearly waterproof (we have had pool of water site on the canvas for over four months with no water wicking or leaking through).
      Other Bedrolls: Most other bedrolls on the market either have flaps, snaps, or buckles (which terribly inconvenient), or one zipper up the side. This still leaves the head exposed, and the head flap is not practical in most weather conditions, which again defeats the feature of offering you protection against the elements. It leaves you and your gear exposed.
      Canvas Cutter: Our bedrolls have YKK zippers and four YKK zipper sliders and two weather flaps on each side so that in even the worst of weather you are completely covered and can still leave each side open 15-17” to increase air flow. Plus, when you leave camp, you can zip it completely closed keeping bugs and rodents out of your bag and gear.
      Other Bedrolls: Other bedrolls have leather straps and buckles, string ties, or if you’re lucky a couple quick release buckles.
      Canvas Cutter: Our bedrolls have three military grade quick release buckles on 1” nylon webbing cinch straps that have a tensile strength of over 700lbs.
      Canvas Cutter bedrolls also have all the seams taped, an easy carry handle, different pole system options, and a high-grade dense foam mattress pad (the same foam as in the original purple mattress) as well as a unbeatable warranty.
      Hope this helps answer your question.

    Am i the only one thinking this might be hard to zip up all the way if your inside trying to sleep for the night! This thing looks amazing but how do you close up the canvas from the inside of the mesh? Maybe a video on that?

    • @CanvasCutter
      @CanvasCutter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Enzo, great question. It works the same way a tent zipper with a mesh screen works. You would zip up the canvas from the inside to where you want it and then zip up the mesh all the way. Pretty simple really.

    Brother I Love this set up but why didn't you use water proof zippers other than cost? You brought it up a lot clearly you aren't happy either? Can you get this in Military Green? Best Regards!

    • @CanvasCutter
      @CanvasCutter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Chad, great question.
      We're all super happy with the zipper the way we have it. The zipper increases breathability substantially, and waterproof zipper would destroy that making the bedroll less breathable which would be a negative thing. Also the way the zipper flaps cover the zipper, unless you are using the product incorrectly water can't come through it so there is no need for waterproof zippers. The only down side was in the past, the way the zipper was sewed into the bedroll required for that zipper seam to be treated with seam sealer, but not any more. We have changed the way the zipper is sewed into the bedroll, and know that seam is taped.
      No military green yet... but maybe in the future.

    • @The.Good.Place.
      @The.Good.Place. 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a scary thought but also unlikely. Bears look for food and if you don't directly threaten them they don't care to bother you, especially around areas where camping is common. Good point as a safety tip though- don't keep food in there for sure especially while your in it. Keep in your truck and try to stay in more open fields and valleys while avoiding common hangouts amongst hungry bears

    • @The.Good.Place.
      @The.Good.Place. 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      And camping is always a risk. Keep a gun with you if you need to but also keep it safe because being tucked inside a bedroll with a gun not secured is also dangerous
