Thanks , I had a red ring and it wouldn't open at all.
    It's now fixed
I had this and fixed it , unmount the lower part of the machine , separate the worm gear mechanism to release the white gear piece so it can move freely, that will allow you to open the lid , remount keeping the top open , when it's plugged back in , it will automatically close again and turn green.

How did you fix getting yours to open? Mine won’t open at all to let me take the bottom off.

Very useful video. There are no others I could find that show these machines being worked on and Nespresso’s policy seems to be replace rather than repair so thank you. Once out of warranty you’re looking at scrapping a whole machine that might have a really simple fault.

Huzzah! Found this video! 🥳 Nespresso should sponsor you because if I can't do my own repair and get it running, I'm switching to Keurig 😅

Do you have any suggestion of where to look if my machine doesn’t seem to warm up - it currently blinks green and won’t turn solid then turns to red. It’s outside of warranty and I’ve pried the bottom off but should i go further into the cork screws you mentioned?

My machine keeps blinking green then turns to solid red which makes me think that it’s not heating the water - do you have any suggestions on how to approach fixing? I pried it open including the bottom but don’t know what hooks to what - I’m also outside of warranty

Ok so I accidentally took off the entire top part, not just the cover. Two springs popped out and now it won’t open all the way or close all the way with the pods. Do you have any quality pictures of your nespresso with the cover off? I need to find where these springs go.

How do I stop water from leaking from my water tank

  • @jackcasey998

My pod adhered to the base. When gently freeing it the basket came out with the spring below. I tried to reattach it. With some experimenting i reattached the basket without the spring and now can’t remove it. Any thoughts on freeing it up without wrecking it? I appreciate your time and thoughts. Jack

Have you had trouble with the unit not heating? When I turn it on the blinking green light stays on. Then the solid red light comes on. I can descale it but no hot water.

Same here. A few ideas floating around as I disassemble it. Maybe over heating from too much constant use has caused some of the internal circuitry to be compromised.

The thermal fuse has blown and it is hard to replace as it is imbedded in the thermoblock which is what is heating your water. Taking it in for servicing they would replace the thermoblock . Normally in small appliances the thermal fuse would be externally located but not in this case. I have fix steamer basket etc by replacing the fuse and I thought I would do the same here.

Have you taken the o -ring out on top? My machine is leaking coffee and I think it's because the o-ring seal is worn.

Mine is having the same issue. Descaling hasn’t fixed the issue. Have you found a solution by any chance?

@@petersicaja2222 I tried to find an o-ring but was having a hard time finding the exact one. I did speak to customer support and we went thru resetting the machine and manually trying to use a paper clip to see if things were clogged up at the exit nozzle . No luck but I might have to investigate this in more detail. Since my machine was out of warranty by 6 months, they did offer a 35% discount on a new one - the same model, but I think I would have to pay shipping. For me, it just made more sense to buy their latest Virtuo Next - more "green" and has a manual lock mechanism. I'm hoping that since this is their newer model, it will last longer. I feel bad buying a new one since the old one worked perfect up until the leak and looks new, but my choices were pay $125 to repair(shipping?), pay $135 for a new same model but with shipping cost or pay $150 on Amazon, free shipping. Good luck.

@@jhideout hey I actually fixed mine from leaking! What I did is take a flat tool such as a butter knife or something thinner and I wedged it on the inside part of the rubber seal on the plate that spins and pokes the pod. With my tool behind the rubber seal, I spun the disk 3-4 times and realigned the seal. Tested the machine and it isn’t leaking anymore. Id say try that before getting a new machine!

@@petersicaja2222 Nice, I'll try that. Thx!

@@petersicaja2222 I tried what you recommended as mine was leaking coffee. The top o-ring seal looked like the culprit so I lifted the seal from behind with a butter knife and spun the disk a few times. I then went thru a cleaning cycle and now its not leaking🙂. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICE AS IT WORKED !!!!!
