    Helpful video for the disassembly and reassembly. After I completed reassembly the machine was much quieter but the coffee was more water than coffee. There is a C clip on the short metal water tube. It's connected to the hose under the button assembly. Make sure the opening in the C clip lines up with the notch in the assembly that you press it down into. If its not lined up you'll get watery coffee.

      Great eye! This was happening to me and as I was looking in where the metal tube sat I just barely noticed this tiny raised part on the seating surface that needs to sit in the open part of the c-clip. Im assuming its there so the silicone head has even pressure applied to the entire circumference of its seating surface. I noticed this machine seems to be VERY well engineered and with quality materials all throughout.

    This video is a lifesaver. My 8 year old machine simply stopped spinning in the middle of a brewing cycle and was just flashing the white light twice repeatedly. Saw another video about cleaning the head but that made no difference. Disassembled my machine and found the bearing had completely shredded and was seizing. $7 later I have a working machine again that is both quieter than before and making better coffee. This simple fix saved me from having to spend $$$ on a new machine. Thanks!

    Super helpful video. I bought the parts and special tools and replaced my bearing and now it's whisper quiet and makes more froth than it has since new. My Tips: Make sure all the parts are seated well. When putting the cover back on, put it on very level left to right and seat the front first and then snap the backside in place. The small screwdriver is useful to use as a lever to spread the top. Upon reassembly, I had issues with the lever not working right, had to take it all back apart and reassemble. It should go back together easy. If not, see if you've seated something wrong. Keep up with all the parts. That front spring is an easy one to lose. It's not emphasized in the video. You may want to take a picture of it once you have the cover off so you have a reference on how it should look with everything in place. Anyway, mine's like new now and making great coffee again, very quietly! Thank you GTRsquared!

    Thank you! This worked!! I first found this video because I was just looking for a general disassembly guide. The metal lever to open up the top was very loose, so with the first few minutes I was able to open it up and replace a missing screw with one that was close enough. Then while I was here, I went ahead and ordered the bearing and replaced it. So much quieter!

      It was working well but the bearings are crap and made of zinc which rust pretty quickly. The link for part number must be changed to a better bearing quality. Not sealed and takes water which makes your coffee undrinkable. Need better parts.

    very great video. Just make sure unplugging the machine prior removing the lid. And use a food grade ball bearing. The small steel tube must be placed carefully. There’s a small black circlip which must be positioned into a small rib on its counterpart. This repair adds years of lifetime to this machine.

    Excellent video -my go to video for repairing my Nespresso machine. It should be noted that not all bearings are created equal -I had a brand new one rust out on me. If you forget to unlatch and ejected the pod -the moisture from the wet coffee in the pod can rust a typical steel bearing. However, they do make bearings that are impervious to rust - the "100% Ceramic Bearing". They can be expensive, but they are worth it as I am sure they likely outlast the machine.

    For anyone hoping to fix a Vertuo Next using this video, the Next is more complicated. It uses two bearings (one larger, one small, neither the same as these). Overall not a complicated disassembly and mine ultimately just needed a thorough cleaning of all moving parts and the bearings were fine. The symptom on mine wasn't noise; I was having to manually turn the mechanism every morning as it would stick and throw an error. If anyone needs guidance opening theirs let me know. The next time I do maintenance on it, I will take the time to measure the bearings and replace them.

    One caveat that drove me crazy…if the stainless steel tube pops out of the silicone water feed tube, just don’t just place it anywhere in the hole. The “mouth” of the c-clip on it fits between a raised notch on where it sits. Set it first, then place the tube on it. Look closely…if it is not perfectly seated it will leak water passed the capsule and you’ll get watery coffee.

      Yes this! Take it apart and when you put the little metal tube back in, there's a notch in the flat c shaped ring that has to line up with the tab on the top of the cover for that piece. Then the rubber hose drops in flush, so you get solid water pressure and no back flow.
      I disassembled this thing three times before finding that tip in the comments here....

    Great video, made replacing the bearing quite easy. However after the bearing replacement (it is very quiet now) the coffee comes out inconsistent, mostly very weak/watery with little to no crema and the odd time closer to normal but have wasted a lot of pods. Also did a full descaling even though I did this pre bearing replacement with no change. Watched the video again several times and disassembled the machine and reassembled two more times with the same result. What did I do wrong or is something else going on?

      I think I know what you mean. How easily did your bearing spin in your hand before you installed it? I experimented with another bearing and carefully popped the sides off of the bearing with razor knife and cleaned out almost all of the grease. After putting it back together it spun much more easily. I put that bearing into the Nespresso and I could tell it was spinning faster and I did get more crema for sure.

      Did you manage to get it off? I don't recall having any problem getting it off, but it might just need a little persuasion with some pliers. Good luck with it, come back and comment if you got it.

    Did what you said with the lid, put it into the lock position, held the lock and snapped it back on, now the lid is stuck and I can't open it... anyone using this video, don't set the lid and locking mechanism to the "lock position " when putting the lid back on. If not done correctly, the lid will jam shut and you wont be able to open it again.

    I have replaced the Bering and it only stays quiet for a short time then it gets loud again and I replace the Bering again and same result. What do you suggest next.

      Sorry for the delayed response. Did you find a solution for your short bearing life? I know there are different quality of bearings available, the ones that I linked are still working for my machine. Maybe you received a bad batch of bearings?

    Good day, I disassembled my vertuoline and I check the bearing(original) part number and it’s a S6901RSC3, C3 mean internal radial clearance greater then normal. So the one you suggest will fit to? Also is it more quiet if I put an abec 5 instead of 1? Thank you.

    Omg! 6 dollars and 15 minutes later, I've for a brand new machine! I've already fixed two of my friends machines and they can't believe the difference. Shame on Nespresso for designing the bearing so that it can get contaminated from coffee

    At 4:53 I seem to have a problem. I can't push it down and it's refusing to be turned anticlockwise. I feel like it's glued or maybe just got stuck because the machine seems to have been quite heavily used... Will try to apply a bit more force. Hopefully won't snap any plastic

    • @gtrsquared919
      @gtrsquared919  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did have to push down pretty hard, all the plastic in this area seems pretty robust, I wasn't concerned with anything breaking. Good luck with the repair.

      @@gtrsquared919 Alright thanks. I got it to open . My purpose was to just clean it up as I got this machine used and cleaning cycles didn't help. it just keeps giving yellow water with coffee residue. The seller claimed it was barely used so I didn't expect it to be so dirty. Of course every piece inside was disgusting and full of coffee. I still haven't opened it from the bottom because of the difficult screws. Now that I cleaned the top parts, I unfortunately still got yellow water after the cleaning cycle. I guess next try is to descale...

    • @gtrsquared919

      In my experience, I have had weak, watery coffee too. It was from the pod not spinning fast enough to extract the coffee properly. Near the end of the cycle the rpms increase and I would get normal, dark coffee, but only for that last 10 seconds or so. Replacing the bearing also solved that problem for me.

    😩😩😩 we accidentally put the cover on incorrectly (the top was engaged in lock position but we put the cover on while unlocked) - now it's stuck. Do you know if there is any fix for getting the cover open to reassemble it in the locked/locked position?

    What size of bearing did you use? I just got this machine in second use and it’s making this sound. Is it normal for the opening and closing of the machine to be hard?

    • @gtrsquared919
      @gtrsquared919  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bearing was a 6901, I got mine from Amazon for a couple of dollars. Ideally it should be stainless steel. The rotating of the chrome lever feels firm and solid, but it shouldn't really be hard to move.
