Now that you have this huge truck, you HAVE to have a Lego Store built alex. The truck needs a destination. What's it going to do? Drive around in circles all day for looks? Come on, get a Lego store built.

I like the way the truck looks. It seems like they have finally made it proportional to the mini figs. If you look at a real 18 wheeler, they are pretty dang big. Also, the tires look appropriate also. I always thought that in real life, 18 wheelers could use bigger tires. I think they could have made them have 18 wheels. That would have made it even better.

The truck is great but it will be interesting to see how other people feel about its size and fitting their cities/collection. I also like the tour bus and will have to get that at some point.

I really like the truck. I cannot wait to pick it up, but I have to wait a few more days for my money. And I'm definitely going to get the sightseeing bus before it retires so when my city has roads, I can have it driving around.

Glad you got the bus review out before Jason. lol. I like the trailer. Think of all the trucks you see on the road today. Most are wrapped as such. Free advertising. It’s time for a LEGO store MOC in the city. Or maybe this is a hint for the next modular

I like that the truck has the realistic flip forward hood and connection to the trailer. The trailer has more of a European style with the side loading and graphics. That's much less common in the US.

That bus looks like a better set than I realized. And the truck just looks like a classic set that has had many variations that anyone who collects LEGO (like me) should have at least one version of.

  • @TheOtherGuys2

I like the feature of the hood of the truck opening, it's cool, and it gives the minifigs something to do with those tools. I also like that it's a 'sleeper' cab, that's really cool. I will point out I was right: this Lego Delivery Truck set has about 4x as many pieces as the 2010 one, and it shows in the price; that one cost the same as the tour bus there. I feel like the hot dog stand is just there to get it over the 1000 piece mark so they can justify making it $100. I still think the shaping of the cab is too curvy and round for my taste, and it's waaaaay too bloated in terms of price and parts, but setting those aside, it is a pretty cool set. The printed parts are nice as well. But, I don't think I'll be getting this one.
The Tour Bus looks pretty neat, and seems decent on a price-to-parts value. I have been wanting a bus for my city, but I was thinking more of a normal city bus. Still, since it's gonna be $40 in Canada, I'll have to give that one a maybe.
Do you get the feeling these vehicles are getting a little bit too big for the roads in your city? It might be getting towards time to see what can be done about that. I've actually come up with a way to use the new road plates, still have a curb up to the sidewalk, and not have to MILS-Plate the whole city. It also makes the roads 32 studs wide, so roads have not only a proper amount of room for driving, but also for stuff like parking. My city isn't nearly as big, and I don't have the... ~space~ or budget to put much road in it, but I do think my system works fairly well. :) (even Speed Champions 8-wide cars fit on it!)

These two are my favorite sets of the wave, both being sets I've wanted Lego to make for a long time
The bus is great and affordable, the turnable signs is a great feature.
2:26 there is a lego city electric car set that comes with a charger, and the car looks great also, I would recommend picking it up. Or just build a generator and attach it to the back 😅
The new stroller piece is great
The LEGO semi truck is awesome, I just wish it was cheaper and more affordable. The hot dog stand (while being great) shouldn't be in the set, since it doesn't really belong and drives up the cost.
Maybe the forklift also could have not been included, maybe there could have been another set with the forklift and hot dog stand (it would make for a great people pack, or part of one, those sets were awesome)
3:16 there was also a small Lego truck that was unfortunately limited to some store openings, it would have made a great widely available set.
5:11 the wire that attaches is a great realistic detail, great to see it. I agree, there should be two visible smokestacks. I also agree the tires should be bigger, though they're not too small. The gaming truck set had some tine tires that looked ridiculous on a truck
I think in regard to the yellow truck look, maybe Lego should have provided the same pieces in yellow for those who want that option. Both would look great. I wonder which look is more realistic

I have a sneaking suspicion that this was a stealth promo with Costco. They had it early, sold at $75 vs $100. And the set includes a hotdog stand promoting a hot dog and soda for $2 (close to the famous Costco $1.99 hot dog and soda deal). May be off on that idea, but fun to think haha

  • @dgray3771

That they added the break cable to the truck is awesome. Having only 3 prints and being "non-essential" is such a big bonus for the truck set. Makes it far far superior as a set to many other. Where you got like double sticker sheets. Having 2 workers instead of just the one. Lego is really stepping up on the minifig department this second wave.
The tourbus is nice for what it is. I do not enjoy having that many stickers on a 30 dollar kid set. That is a negative. But the look and design is top level.
Another thing to mention is the CMF alien tourist... He could be put on the bus and enrich the look of it. Just a hint for anyone looking to liven up their lego city.

As a truck driver, I really want this set. From the windshield back, it looks awesome. The front end is a little less desirable. I wished it was more like the 2010 design, but I guess that's where own creative design will come in and solve this problem. A few details I wish were added that I'll have to try and MOC in are, a second air line for the trailer, and a second exhaust stack. I agree on the on the dual tire idea, wish LEGO would have maybe designed a dual wheel/tire for this set. Maybe a single rim that would accommodate two skinnier tires? This would be a great piece that could be used in building a dually style truck for maybe a farm set also, or for other work trucks ( trash, smaller delivery, construction). Maybe being in the LAN you could suggest this. Thanks for the review 😊

Semi truck hoods always tip forward. Prevents windows from being damaged during maintenance.
The "fire extinguisher" would probably be the air tank, that provides air for the brake system.
The 'wire' is a glad hand. There should be 3 of them. Air, Power, Service.
Oh! Idea. For the semi truck, MOC it ... but make it smaller, to fit the city. You could 'fix' both the semi and the trailer.

Even though I like the truck (and might get it in a few months) I would prefer to build 1960-2024 semis and too much aerodynamics aren't my thing. I'm old enough to remember when trucks just started getting air dams on the top and when the trailers advertised that they were 45 feet long (lots ot the piggyback trailers (Southern Pacific piggyback service, anybody?) those were 40 & 45 footers at the time when I was in school.) I don't want to sound like a downer, I would like to get multiple sets like this. I feel I have to modify this truck but I probably won't.... I'm just old and cranky but I do really like the set. And I do like Lego sets with side builds. Also the side opening trailers are sometimes called 'curtain side' I remember when those were first advertised.

Just saw it compared to set 3221. It is a third bigger. And i allready had an issue fitting that in thr city. This new truck has a length of Almost 2!!! Baseplates. It feels like the new excavator and crane. It is supernice, but not fitting for the city itself. Makes for a nice display model tho. And great for playing for kids still

Australia has been released the new City sets since Monday/Tuesday. Unfortunately the Lego Truck is too big - and really bulky - how can this truck can fit any types of road in Lego? Never make sense (also too expensive. US$100 for a Lego vehicle, no way)
By the way, I didn't know that's stair at the back of the sightseeing bus, That's a big plus for this set. I have bought 3 sets of this and will be rebuild it in a 7-stud double decker buses. Hope it works 😁
