Being vigilant or on guard or on the lookout takes a lot of energy. Imagine a soldier in a fox hole at night hearing noises and activity cannot relax, that is real fear , but it’s the same fear that is Imagined. When you have anxiety you are vigilant and that is exhausting.

Is this the same approach to burnout? My sister gets super fatigued from some work after she was diagnosed woth burnout a few years back. I want her to follow the steps Shaan has given in general, but she is afraid that she will go back to burnout and I’m scared that i’ll ruin her more. But do we respond the same to burnout syndrome?

This is exactly how I fell into the cycle 4 years ago, trust me buddy I went through hell, I thought I was going nuts for years but it’s how anxiety works, it’s supposed to scare you and keep you “safe” but your always safe, it chucks symptoms at you because you react to the anxiety in fear but if you just let it the fuck go and be consistent with it, it passes and you become desensitised, please stay strong because it will get better, don’t do what I did and obsess about it for years. Please.

I have been experiencing horrible fatigue going on 9 months now. It is debilitating and I really struggle to function. I still go to work because I have to, but I have no energy for anything else and powering through work feels like hell. When I wake up my whole body hurts head to toe. Even my fingers. Doctors haven’t found anything. Before this issue I’ve had pretty severe health anxiety for years and have been convinced I’ve had many illnesses. But this feels different. I cannot convince myself that this is anxiety because I don’t believe it is. But part of me hopes that it’s just anxiety. I just want this hell to end
