@@ShaeDerEinzige Jo, really bad translation , but Kaja don´t make it easy with switching between Kanak-german, fake austria-german, his own slang and many other dialects. Kanacke is like the "N" word in amercia, just for turks. so he juggested just that the austrian understand who he is, if he called himself how germans would call him in a bad manner, so they will understand that he is german with turkisch parents . like he called himself a teuton (old nordisch Volk) turk. But Teuton is the same then Kanacke just for german people.

The subtitles seem to be auto-translated as usual and are pretty good in the beginning, but with Kaya's switching dialects in between, the translation gets worse and sometimes misses the pun. I myself am Bavarian, and I know people who talk to their Alexa in Bavarian, and the AI really learns that with time, but I prefer standard German. After all, it was the first foreign language I learned in school, and it's there for a reason.

The translation in the subtitle is really bad. The problem with Kaya is he's doing a lot of his comedy with fake accents. This is to much for the auto subtitle program (e.g. "Blitzkasten" means speed trap not Big Foot). For your understanding at 13:55 he's talking about nose picking and after then he's telling his story about his friend Francesco and his Italian way of freely interpret the traffic rules. The subtitles for the Francesco part were absolute confused. But I learned something new. I never knew that Bauland is a region in Baden-Würtenberg 🤣🤣. For the most Germans Bauland is a place to erect a building.

between the bad auto generated subs, the missing language and dialect/accent humor, the lack of context (kayars minority/ausländer focused humor but also being super german in some regards) the funniest thing about this reaction is his confused face when those subtitles just make no sense at all. this bit needs more commentary than fucking finnegans wake.

08:40 the Word "Kanacke" orgininates from the Island New Caledonia, their people the "Kanaks"
As the story goes, Kanaks were realy good sailors and workers, they were much appretiated on Vessels.
So the word got re used as "A good, trustwothy and hard working comrad"
It then was used for people with southlandish looks and after the 60s and 70s, it turned into a foul name for migrant workers from southertn europe (Italians, Spanish, Greeks and Turks)
Today, mostly turks and arabs use it as a identity word, like blacks use the N-word.
Like the N-Word, only the "Blackheads" (Refering to the mostly dark hair of Turkish or Arab imigrants) use it for themself and it is seen as racist and rude if others use it (Even though some of the said people dont feel like that)

Bauland: the joke is … he meets an old Swiss man in the mountains who is suspicious about a German with Turkish heritage and asked what Kaya does and wants up here and when he disappears again to where he came from … the old man doesn‘t get Kaya‘s explanation being German and Turkish … so Kaya says „doesn‘t lead to anything … so at least let‘s have some fun with this Swiss man“. And then he pulls up the joke: What do I want up here? Well I am looking for land property to buy and built a house on“. That‘s the joke. because the old conservative Swiss man wants Kaya to go away and leave him alone.

A person stopping by the green light, that really once happened to me. Don't know, he must have been dreaming or busy on the phone. I literally STOOD in my car, stepping on the clutch and slamming the brakes. Had there been someone behind me there would have been a lot of damage. Thank goodness it wasn't raining and I had good tires.
Btw, I didn't own very fast cars ever, and I drive at reasonable speeds of like 140 to 160 km/h on the autobahn when traffic and road conditions allow, but I once was in a hurry to get to a rock concert, so I hit the metal, and man, I tell you, 230 isn't fun anymore, and the fuel consumption at full speed was horrendous. The time you win at such a speed you'll lose double when in the waiting line at the next gas station.

The line with the "Bauland" did not refer to the region in Baden Württemberg, it just means land to build on. "Ich schau mich hier nach Bauland um" means "I'm looking for a building plot", so he was scaring the xenophobe rural Swiss guy buy pretending he was looking for a place to build a mosque (as was specified in the next sentence: "So, at 2500 m (not 200,000 m) a beautiful mosque, that would be something.".
The translation of the whole thing is unfortunately very bad. Either it was done entirely by an automatic translation software (and an outdated one at that) or it was first run through such a software and than a guy who doesn't speak a single word of German and had no idea of the context tried to improve the gibberish and put it together into sentences that were at least gramatically correct, but were even further away from what was actually said.

I'm from Germany (Witten, ugly streets in the city but beautiful green nature landscape when you know where to go and look 😅) your german sounds very good and it's nice to see that someone give it a try. As a native of course i find it not at all a brutal hard language but it's difficult to learn and i get it... (der, die, das - the, the, the) Btw my favourite is english... Those automatic subtitles are really a mess. Kaya speaks very very quick, subtitles can't handle the speed and only translate what they kind of understand, so many times it just makes no sense at all.
Point of his program: In Germany there exists no speed limit. This is not correct by the way. There are sections where you can drive as fast as you can. But most of the time it's limited to 120km/h. Speed orientation (if there's no limit) is at 130km/h. But that doesn't mean you have to drive 130km/h, that's only a recommendation.
And well, as I said earlier, Kaya really talks very quick. That's also a problem for the subtitles trying to translate everything word by word. Sometimes two words have completely different meanings but sound similar, so that's also a problem.
Best is to learn a bit of german and listen to many programs. German isn't that hard to learn, at least the basics. Problem is the slang, in every state you have a different accent which makes it more complicated to understand.

Kaya is talking about looking for land to buy in order to build his house on it - so he, the turko-teutonic man - would stay forever in Switzerland just in front of the Swiss guy.
The Swiss are very keen on keeping outlanders from buying land or other property in Switzerland. The are a small people with a long history of having to have fight off intruders or occupants.
Bsically, Switzerland as a internationally acknowledged state only exists since 1620 B.C. - which may explain their fears of being overtaken or outgrown by foreign land ownwership inside their own country. Switzerland is extremely conservative - one example: google since when women have the right to vote in Switzerland.

The subs are incredibly unreliable. They take many German slang words from Kaya literally, so anybody trusting them will go down.

Kanake is a German version of what Americans would call aliens … people of color and other ethnicity. But either way a mean despicable undertone (we do not want you here, go away). And Kaya here does a play on words and calls himself a Kanake after Teutoturk (Teutone for old German tribe) … he often includes his heritage and makes fun of himself. That makes him so sympathetic though he really played kind of racist schemes. In Getmany this is ok on an entertaining level. But when it gets political, there is the red line. Kind ofvzje opposite to the US where you have this perverted switch of political correctness in comedy and media but this heinous vile lying and poising culture in politics as you see with Trump.

In Germany, good satirists only cite Mario Barth as a role model when it comes to unpretentious humour, and it is only in this context that he is considered funny. To compare someone's humor to Mario Barth would be an insult. He is the Donald Trump of humor
