- I walk through the neighborhood of Jamaica, Queens. This section is known to be a major shopping district, and comparable to Brooklyn's Fulton Street. It is also a major transit hub, with connections to numerous buses, NYC Subway Lines on the E, F, J, and Z trains, Airtrain to JFK Airport, and the Long Island Railroad.

The Jamaica Ave i grew up with in the 70's - early 90's as a teen is sadly long gone.
The ave was the spot back in the 90s I remember riding with my peeps on the J line from Brooklyn. And we would hit that coliseum to get the fresh gear
Thanks. I was born and grew up in Jamaica, Queens, NYC. It was the Shopping and Transportation Hub of Long Island, including Brooklyn and Queens, back then. As a kid, I will always remember the Jamaica Elevated Subway Line thundering, up, over Jamaica Avenue. Jamaica was soo very exciting then, with soo many stores, and movie theaters, etc.
One of the most - busiest and major mass trans hubs within NYC. Thanks for sharing 😊
Used to go there all the time growing up in Queens. Damn I miss home 😭😭❤🗽
My best friend lived in a house near the Central Library. Used to be a cool place. There were shops that used to sell imported video games.
Sooooo glad u are back doing nyc I could cry .. I am binge watching to catch up . I haven’t found a nyc blogger that has your pleasant voice , your pace of conversation, your knowledge of the city that you impart , etc etc .. and there are only certain places I like to watch vloggers cover so .. ..
enjoy Miami
But THANK YOU FOR VISITING !
Where can i get notice for when you are in NYC. ?
Ever since retiring from DSNY and moving to DE, this is how I catch up on Queens. I do miss it! In a lot of ways. Lol! As a little kid I remember riding the Q9 from Rockaway and Lincoln St up there and when you went up under the LIRR it was VERY BUMPY!! You knew it was time to get off and catch the E train or shop on the AVE.
38:03 Oh, cool to see the outside of King Manor Museum and the spacious grounds. 😎 Thank you for sharing this ASMR walk and all the activities in Jamaica, AK! 🤗
Thanks for sharing. I left Jamaica since 1995. It turns to be another city. I guess a lot of gentrification in past decades. More tall buildings and all senaries are different. Subway station, Long Island railroad station, bus stop, side walk, shopping centers and all are different. Then I get aging...
Despite the sidewalks constructions etc , very nice walk in Jamaica😎Nice stores , restaurants etc …thank you for sharing this enjoyable walk A K 🙂👍!!!
You're welcome, I enjoyed this walk through Jamaica
It's impossible to walk any where in the city without seeing construction every few blocks.
Ooooh , colors of the rainbow 🌈 in Jamicsn town , love the energy from the market and surrounding shop. Great walking with you AK ❤️ it.
The place still looks the same! The only thing missing was the Wendy's by the movie theater and I see they finished the new building on Sutphin. I cant wait to get back home!
Just got a chance to watch this video. Really enjoyed it! I didnt know there was a Jamaica area in NYC! I really need to come back and explore some more! Thank you for sharing!
Wow my old shopping area haven't been there in 20 years it's change some what thanks for the tour
Good mng (24 sept). Thank you for the video. I do appreciate all your nyc vlogs, although I've been to nyc on vacation many times, I haven't been able to see most of it, but thru ur videos I'm able to enjoy much of the city.
I know it sounds silly, but I enjoy the rainy day walks best. Sadly I'm from LA where we are rain deprived. 😆
I had a 6 hour lay over at the JFK airport, I was able to visit Jamaica and it’s pretty nice.
Great activities, convenient, and lower prices (Compared to the rest of New York) Thanks for the tour! Great video ❤️
Nice chill walk around Jamaica Queens ActionKid!
Wow! Seems to be pretty cool neighborhood!
My old neighborhood! I was on Parsons and Hillside. I was hoping you turned down that way. Lol. Great vid!
Opening, near one of my bus stops..🥳🥳 Action Kid always Walk's real places...Interesting corner of Queens there..
Hey Ak man I missed you in my borough how cool you went to the Ave 😚🍎I was out there last week went to Carter's to get my grand daughter a few outfits then Bank of America I will reap Queens for life born and raised 😙🇭🇹
Man, I missed your coverage of NY!!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Good afternoon AK, Now viewing this, thank you
Thanks for the video! It really brought back great memories. The first time I visited this area, Guy Brewer was New York Boulevard lol. My father was down near the Baisley park area. In my memory it seems like if you had kept on Jamaica avenue in that direction you would have come into St Albans. Am I right anybody?
You’re right omg it was so nice then
@@MarieA1 thanks and @reap joy. I’m surprised I still remember lol. I know a lot has changed but it would be good to see the old neighborhood again. When I was there one of my favorite things was going to ‘the Avenue’.
Hollis then Queens Village
Wow I haven’t been to Queens since I left NYC in 2006. I almost forgot you had to get the j train from Brooklyn then a dollar van to get to Rosedale. I remember having to ride all through Guy Brewer and Sutphin Ave. I’ll be visiting in June and I’m trying to remember how to get to the collesseum mall from Brooklyn. I’m also hoping the pizza spot I use to love on Jamaica Ave is still there. I don’t remember the name of it tho 🤦🏽♀️
Man, New York has been doing a great job of keeping those trains clean...back in the late 70s and early 80s when I lived in NYC the Graffiti was so bad that you needed a chisel just to clean that mess...
Hey ,AK! What's up! Hanging out with u as always !!!
19:45-23:30, commercially not demographically 165th Street between Jamaica Avenue and 89th Avenue, reminds me of some ways of the pedestrianized High Street North in East Ham (London, England). High Street North, East Ham demographically the leading plurarlity group is South Asians (mainly Bangladeshis, Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans).
Saludos, amigo Kenet! Santiago de Chile 🇨🇱😜
32:23 jar of green broken
ActionKid, will you ever go to Puerto Rico? Obviously when things are back in order there.
@ 32:22... What was the guy selling in those jars?? lol...Is it what I think?? :)
Retired MTA Bus Operator
Awesome!
So cool 😎👍
This part of town feels kinda rough
Hi My old neighborhood
Ak since your in NYC can you do a video 8th Avenue in Bk heading towards Coney island the N train goes there I use to take my youngest son to the dentist for his braces for about 5 years its a long stretch of Asian markets shops restaurants etc you should check it out
AK. Please, please come back to Miami , Wednesday live stream from the Bronx and that area really scared me for your personal safety That group of thugs that got up in your face was very threatening. If you want to go to that side of the city, don't go alone. Take someone with you. I know you grew up in NYC but times have changed and the streets are mean. You are carrying very expensive equipment and folks are getting shot for a pair of sneakers. Someone's life is not important to them. So don't be a victim or a statistic.
Yes, I will come back to Miami when I'm ready. Thank you for your well wishes but I never felt unsafe in the Bronx that day. I'm very aware of my surroundings when I go out on the streets.
@@ActionKid be safe carrying pepper spray and a taser I myself need to buy these cause I moved out of NYC live in NJ but I'm always in NYC Queens I work overnights so I can't get away from the big Apple if I wanted to lol 🤣
When did someone get in his face? I just watched it and didn't see anything crazy
Calm down they were kids. They asked to be on his video and even said thank you. Very threatening. 🙄🙄
I see that this not platform to share concern for folks. But I am not surprised
Wow, I thought Jamaica was poorer. Didn't know they had skyscrapers in Bob Marley's island, let alone a subway!
Talk to me AK?
Queens family court ... Most corrupt family court in NYC besides Brooklyn family court ... Makes me want to throw up
Family Court is where families get torn apart
Lmfaoo no lie 🤥🤣
I feel London is way better than NY! 🇬🇧
Babygirl at 44:06, Id move back to NYC just for her, and I live in Miami where chics like her are all over the place...LOL
Jamaica avenue looks congested stores crammed on top of each other how is the chipotle bigger than the target and how did they fit a target in that small space? panda express, taco Bell, McDonald's all on the same block? this is overwhelming to watch 🙂 who is eating this much unhealthy food? No smoothie stores gym nothing just garbage!
Ghetto !! Some people can't keep up with society.
