It really is an interesting topic that doesn’t get enough attention. Thanks so much for this video and for all your other videos. Keep up the great work Bre and Flo ❤️

    I've had issues with my shoulder for over a year do to BJJ-training. I've tried different strength exercises and professional physical therapy, but it did not sufficiently address the issue. After only a few sessions i've noticed huge improvement and are now able to perform BJJ sessions with almost no pain, and with a greater range of motion. Thanks for your videos, they are really helpful!

  • @ChristinaMpoid
    @ChristinaMpoid 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you, Flo, this was very useful!
    Quick question, when you push into the block, do you do it in a way such as to open and push the shoulder? I found myself maybe pushing from the lower arm more and instictively protecting the shoulder from opening too much. Does this sound right? I presume not if the whole point is to open the shoulder.

  • @TheSuperkooldude
    @TheSuperkooldude 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for the video! The body keeps score. The mobility in my right shoulder is high and my left shoulder is very limited. What would you recommend I do? Work on the left shoulder a lot more and then work on both?

  • @tubinbok5335
    @tubinbok5335 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video Flow. I did this twice in 4 days and felt some numbness in fingers on both hands, especially at the time of waking up. Is that normal?

  • @ndro_gyny
    @ndro_gyny ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey so l did this because I have severe shoulder pain, they feel blocked and I get nasty pumps in my arms so bad that when I carry a backpack, my pumping veins will hurt severely. That being said I found myself to actually have an incredible mobility in my shoulders apparently, as I was able to stack three big yoga cushions to extend my arm about double as high as shown in the video. If Mobility isn't my issue, do you have any idea about what else in my shoulder area could cause these issues?

  • @raymondkarlsen9995
    @raymondkarlsen9995 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    If one arm goes higher than the other: Should you use a higher block for that one, og wait for the other arm to catch up?

    • @BreatheAndFlow
      @BreatheAndFlow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      this is quite normal. we suggest you let the one arm catch up and then continue with both to increase the ROM. there is also a individual limit for range of motion which is very different for every body so there will be a point some day where you reach your limit (compression) and both shoulders will stay there. it can also be that this natural limit is not the same for both shoulders. most of us are far away from that though so keep doing the work as described in the video and this comment. great question!

    I am finding that my forearms are on fire during the block work (mostly extensors - distal). Must be a connection between shoulder immobility?

    • @BreatheAndFlow
      @BreatheAndFlow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Make sure your actively isolating the shoulders. The forearms are pressing down but should not tense up too much. From the principle of irradiation there is however some engagement. Try a couple more rounds, it’s often a neurological issue where you don’t have the neural drive yet to isolate and control this certain movement and or angle ✌️
