This is so stupid excuse. I love meat and I like Faroe islands but their traditions are barbaric. Look at this red sea when they butcher hundreds of helpless animals. You know - a lot of countries banned whale hunting despite the fact that it is a tradition. So, with all respect, I will never accept this cruelty.

It's not like they do like Japan and china and kill thousands claim it's research but rip the whales apart. That isn't sustainable. The way these people do it is sustainable. JESUS IS COMING!! Do not put your trust in the world, but put your trust in Jesus Christ. If you died today, where would you go? Jesus loves you and can forgive you of any sin that you have ever committed. If you will repent and put your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will be saved. Once you die, it will be too late to repent. Mark 1:15 For the Kingdom of God is at hand, repent and believe in the gospel...
I never tire of your videos! Thank you for introducing us to and helping us to appreciate the uniqueness of cultures other than our own. Thank you Sonny! PS...Torik is hilarious! You find the best families and co-hosts! I'd go to the Faroe Islands just to hang out with him!

The Faroes are an amazing group of islands. Great people, good food, and out of this world scenery. I’d love to go back with my family some day.
Sonny: Wow, you removed that heart with so much precision. How'd you do that?

Did anyone catch the cheeky "get off my property" reference to Clint Eastwood's "get off my lawn"?

I am curious how they kept their shotguns in such pristine condition while they are used in the saltwater like that?? That’s incredible.

Dolphin is great. It's a lot like cow liver, and the way to serve it is much the same. It's like extremely tender beef with a tiny taste of fish somewhere inside of it. Very similar to whale.

LOVING this European food journey already. Hope to see more interesting places like this
Always interesting and fun to see foreigners try some Faroese foods and experience our culture. Also didn't know before watching this that my cousin "Tórik" was in it hahaha. 10/10 vid, and love the bloopers.

Love that you are always open minded and fair to the people your doing your shows on and explain things in a way to hopefully help some understand that it's just their way of life.
@@ИванМуравский-с2о get a life. To them this is their way of life. U don't want others to tell u what you can and can't do. It's tradition. If u don't understand it and wanna be closed minded then do that. But don't attack others for their way of life and traditions. It's not like they do like Japan and china and kill thousands claim it's research but rip the whales apart. That isn't sustainable. The way these people do it is sustainable. Personally I think they are smarter than most considering they have done this so long without driving species to Extinction like the ones u defend while attacking these people.

One of my wishes in life, became traveling to Faroe Island. looks stunning, food looks awesome and people are super friendly. they have a beautiful culture.
Great series, i enjoyed it alot.
you realize you're not supposed to eat any of that whale due to extremely high toxicity?
@@00big_chungus00 The dose makes the poison. Bioaccumulation depends upon frequency. On another video, they said that they try to not eat it too frequently specifically because of this. So you can eat it, just perhaps limit it to once a week or so.
@@OutOfNamesToChoose yes and the dose is any at all. That's why we don't eat it everywhere. They're too big to eat. If you're that size, and you live in the world's oceans you are inherently absorbing any heavy metals in the water you live in. That's why people only eat fish once to twice per week, and those are SMALL sea animals. Even a tuna(which grows to 6ft) are dangerous to eat, so what do you think is safe about eating WHALE regularly? These people are completely ignorant to this situation. Scientists came in and recorded dangerous toxic levels of mercury and other heavy metals from meat/water samples. Too toxic to eat ANY amount.
@@00big_chungus00it’s totally fine. Alaskan native peoples are permitted to hunt whale because of their traditional customs. They eat it year-round. No mercury problems at all for them. Mercury accumulation is an empirical scientific phenomenon and is proven to happen. But also, the popular media side takes it and blows it out of proportion and then regular john does and jane does here on the internet comments to try to tell people they know more about it than the people who actually eat it all the time and suffer no medical consequences besides getting healthier and stronger off of pure, organic, mammalian protein meats
That dolphin meat looks FIRE!! As long as it isn’t fishy tasting, a quick sear, red in the middle, and (going by looks alone) DELICIOUS - as I write this, Sonny said “not fishy whatsoever”. Now I want DOLPHIN!
they are mammals why would it be fishy
What an amazing and exciting series. Loved this trip to the Faroe Islands! Thanks, Sonny and BEFRS team, amazing job!
This was one of your best series ever! Totally new things to cook and eat, and some things we will probably never see again. Well done!
The Faroe Islands videos have been my favorite series you've ever done ! I don't often actually want to go live in the places you show but this place is just gorgeous and raw and damn it I love seafood !
Faroe island Dolphin hunting is not a culture, its animal genocide and massacre. Year ago they lured 1500 dolphins on their beach to die on the ground slowly, while waiting to be stabbed, intelligent animals were in hours of pain and whole huge family of 1500 of them were all genocided. The islanders couldnt eat that much, so most of the dolphin meat was rotten and thrown away. Its not a "culture", its savage behavior towards very intelligent animals, and anyone supporting it is a complete ass-hole who doesnt think anything else than his clicks.
I enjoying seeing you take your own game on the channel, that is something I very much so appreciate, growing up in the hills and mountains of kentucky, although I'm 28, I lived as if it was all we had was to survive off of our know how's. Cheers

@@Just_Pele I don't want to start an argument but pigs are smarter than dolphins

@@megacoolperson1388 No they aren't. They have similar intelligence to dogs.
@@megacoolperson1388 Not according to biologist testing, it's not even close. Apart from common hearsay and the usual unsubstantiated claims, pigs are almost as smart as a dog, whereas a typical bottlenose dolphin is 3-4x more intelligent.

Having grown up in rural northern Norway I see plenty of similarities in our ways of life, though the people living on Færøyene (Norwegian way of writing it) take it to the next level, and they indeed seem to live a much more liberating life.
Sonny: What animals would actually be considered bizarre or taboo to eat here in the Faroe Islands?
Torik: (long sigh) Yeah, that's a cat...
This brought not only a laugh but also the first like and comment from me (and I've been watching this channel since the 2020 lockdown)
It's very Norse humor. Here on the west coast of Norway people also try to maintain a serious face while having a childish heart, talking about funny things while only having a tiny smirk and a glimmer in the eyes. It's a kind of defiance to the constant grey, wet weather and long winters.
Sonny is becoming a veteran food reviewer. He gobles up everything and nothing phases him anymore, unlike his early days.
Except cucumber 🥒
