So proud of you Sonny!!!! To go from feeling lost to finding yourself in adventure, you deserve all the greatness that comes your way. Been watching a long time, big fan! ❤️
I remember watching Bizarre Foods years back with Andrew Zimmern when he went to that place...he could not get those people to open up at all, it was honestly kind of an odd episode because of how they barely talked or reacted to anything he did. But here you are getting them to relax and even joke around seemingly so easily. And I think they respected how open you were to trying everything without hesitation. Good stuff.
Zimmern kind of strikes me as being condescending, as well as being very "on" for the camera. When Sonny had him on an episode it was really disappointing. Like, obviously he's looked up to this guy for years, then he came across as a total dick. I used to really like him when I was a kid but I've become disillusioned.
@@arieldanielle23 I get what you are saying completely and i think it is because the TV guys always looked down their nose at youtube guys. I saw him with Mark Weins too and that same dynamic was clear. Mark was his usual happy self plus starstruck and Zimmern just had that "what am i doing here?" attitude. and it is the exact same way movie stars look down on TV guys.

Wow...I didn't expect that. Food and life story sharing. This a great team of content creator. It's not just the food but also the people who prepare it. Sonny really knows how to put chemistry between him and the folks around him.
As a person who grew up in rural southern US a couple of decades ago I think it's important to see farm animals raised and slaughtered. It teaches you respect and sacrifice as well as avoiding excessive meat consumption. It's easy to eat pounds of bacon when you're not the one who saved the sow buried in the mud as a runt.
Possibly my favorite episode sofar. Entirely natural and so wholesome. Thanks for going places not all of us are able to and bringing the experience to us.

I love that too. I don't think he'd get very far with a lot of these people if it were super politically correct, seeing as in order to give the most respect to the cultures, he goes onto their turf. This is usually wholesome to watch as you've got to have a very open mind to try and enjoy the cuisine of the world
I started watching your videos since the South African trip. I stay in South Africa and loved the video. It was so good. I absolutely love love your videos. Well done.
Sonny and Jacob and the balls. OMGEEE! Hahaha! Those two and their commentary had me laughing out loud! 😂 Loved the sound effect of the ‘gulp’ at 2:52. Again, what a beautiful family and beautiful traditions. The way that Jacob processed the sheep was amazing. Beautifully done! I love how turkey, prime rib, or in my case-tamales and posole are reminders of Christmas. On Faroe Islands, it’s fermented sheep and innards, the head, and fat. Sonny, thank you for taking the time to describe the odor and taste. It was as if I was there right there along side you. Loved this video so much! Thank you!
The sheep innards, the sheep head. The oven cooked meat. I was drooling this entire episode😋😋😋 if I could teleport to that dinner table i would. Amazing episode Sonny and team well done 👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@@Mandi_Zwane89 I’m craving blood sausage still a day later after this😂- I definitely feel like so many more people would understand how delicious all of it is if they had the opportunity to try
The fermented food sounds very tasty- above all, the story of the brother and sister that were adopted by the two kind hearts mother and father touched my heart for sure.
Yeah I sometimes leave the beef I buy on the counter at room temperature for 4-5 days sometimes and I personally find that it makes the beef faaaar more tender to the point that you don't need to cook it. Whenever I make meat loaf I do this and just mold the raw beef into a loaf and put a sauce of ketchup and a LOT of brown sugar on top as a glaze and serve it to my family. Sure, we have gotten parasites before as well as food poisoning but sometimes taste is more important than maybe getting sick for a couple days or shitting out worms. If anything the worms make shitting more interesting and help with weight loss.
Sonny is so super chill and funny, his jokes Crack me up. On another note, I really enjoyed that wholesome story of the young man who was adopted and is just so cool and nice. Loved this episode.
Same here, looks delicious. As mainland scandinavians we really should visit those northern islands more. I've been to Iceland so have to visit faroe islands next
I should think that surströmming takes the price over the average fermented sheep - but some like it very strong too. But you would probably love 'grunningshøvd', which is cod's head left lying in grass in a not too cold room for a couple of days - that's a rite of passage for the unexperienced 😂
I've eaten some really bad blood pudding and am scarred from having done so, but that recipe she used has me willing to try again lol. So many different ways...
I think it is something you have to grow up with in order to really love it. Being from the North of England I adore the stuff, but I can appreciate it is not for everybody. Most blood pudding is made from pig's blood, so the Faroese way (with sheep's blood) is quite different. I like the way they add dried fruit to it (something I'm sure was done here in England a few hundred years' ago). There are certainly bad blood puddings, especially now that most of it is made from dried blood, and I'm not a fan of Scottish versions (too mealy and dry). I do like the fresh Spanish versions, morcilla, (but not the hard cured versions), and I would love to try the French Normandy versions (with apple).
This is not a food review channel. This is a cultural documentary that makes me appreciate our planet and will support this channel till l'm an old woman. 🥰🥰🥰
I went through a love and hate relationship when I first came across your channel. But more and more I see the absolutely wholesome, and warm videos that teach (well me for instance) about so many other cultures. I really can't get enough of this stuff. And to see how genuinely nice people of the world are, warms the cockles of me heart. There are countries I would have never dreamed of going for fear of being targeted just for being an American. Yet you seem to find so many of these countries incredibly hospitable, with people who have so little, but care so much. Where as we walk down the streets of our cities and towns and snub our noses at people that are much less fortunate than we are. Maybe it's the USA that has problems, and not the other way around. Thank you for doing what you do.
Much of the world hates the insufferable attirude that comes with American tourists a lot of the time, nobody outright targets you for being American, its often the attitude you carry with you and the loud demanding voices. But if you don't have that entitled attitude then it's not a problem.
Hilariously, Americans are actually some of the most hospitable people. You clearly need to travel yourself instead of watching TH-cam. But it's okay, *MURICA BAD, EVERYONE ELSE GOOD*

I love that too. I don't think he'd get very far with a lot of these people if it were super politically correct, seeing as in order to give the most respect to the cultures, he goes onto their turf. This is usually wholesome to watch as you've got to have a very open mind to try and enjoy the cuisine of the world
Political correctness is a Western thing. Cultures outside the West don't care about that stuff.
These guys are so wholesome
since when is killing animals wholesome ? ohh i forgot you're a godless animal
This was a fascinating series. You handled all of it well & it might be my favorite series you've done.
This was definitely one of your more exceptional videos! Thank you!
One of best episodes Sunny and his team have ever made! Delicious food, culture and humor combined.
I started watching your videos since the South African trip. I stay in South Africa and loved the video. It was so good. I absolutely love love your videos. Well done.
I was Sad that he never went to Durban
Yes he needed to go to durban
I glad Jacob have amazing parents and lovely family! God bless you!
Thank you!
Jacob seems like such a wholesome guy
The behavior of the hosts is really commendable, very kind and welcoming
Watching and hearing Sonny laugh makes me smile. 😂
There is something so special in this episode, thanks dudes.
Your travels are so inspiring. Makes me wanna see the world!
Jacob would be great to have as a friend, he is hilarious. That explanation of the Drag effect of whales, was outstanding. Keep them coming Sonny.
I appreciate Jacob's willingness to divulge his background. As soon as he popped up I was like hmmm something's different...
there is not different about him compared to any other faroese. Ikki skoða hundin á hárinum!
The culture is very impressive..... Not to forget Thomas's awesome baritone....
The sheep innards, the sheep head. The oven cooked meat. I was drooling this entire episode😋😋😋 if I could teleport to that dinner table i would. Amazing episode Sonny and team well done 👌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@Jason Voorhees 😂they are a delicacy in many countries, including mine, South Africa. very delicious😋
I just omitted omisis in my mouth portal
@@Mandi_Zwane89ethnic Estonian here (I’m second gen American) same for us 😂 this video was super comforting and homey lol
@@E42545 😋😋if only they knew how delicious it is.
@Hia Dei Kum every thing tastes better fermented/aged.
Like cheese? Meats, fruits, wine, alcohol etc. I think us humans are on to something 🤭
@@Travybear1989 LOL
Sonny is so super chill and funny, his jokes Crack me up. On another note, I really enjoyed that wholesome story of the young man who was adopted and is just so cool and nice. Loved this episode.
As a Swede who love surströmming I would LOVE to try this!!! Nom nom nom
I recommend the spanish Morcilla black pudding - - if you like chorizo you will like that
@annother3350 love chorizo, will put this on my try list!
My mother used to make it but as a child did find it too sweet as we likewise put syrup on top. Perhaps today I would appreciate it more🤔😉😅
I think it is something you have to grow up with in order to really love it.
@@horsenuts1831 The hard cured Morcilla on a pizza though is amazing!
Idk why but their way of life is very intriguing and beautifully simple, I would love to visit those green rolling hills.
Hey Sonny, you should visit Guyana (in South America). It is a developing country and has lots of unique foods especially outside the city!
it's crazy how much this channel has grown... keep up the amazing work sonny and crews!!
You had great chemistry with these guys. All your jokes landed really well with them.
I gotta say. you are now really the best ever food review show.
Sonny has a way to maneuver the most complex cultures, from the Maasai to SA game hunting and Faroe Islands series. Perfect.
This is not a food review channel. This is a cultural documentary that makes me appreciate our planet and will support this channel till l'm an old woman. 🥰🥰🥰
What is it then?
But it's okay, *MURICA BAD, EVERYONE ELSE GOOD*
@@yosefshekelberg5433 i never said America was bad. I'm not sure what part of my comment you get that from.
Damn, I’ve had to remove a destination from my bucket list, to make room for a Faroes culinary adventure!
Thanks for this, it’s a fantastic video.
I absolutely love Sonny always making it about more than just food. Keep it up and you'll be bigger than anyone ever on YT!!!
ABSOLUTE BEST BEST EVER FOOD REVIEW SHOW BROMANCE, 2 guys in a garage, getting loaded, eating 6@lls. Seriously the most hearty, sincere laugh I've ever seen from Sonny 💯 !!!!
ngl i agree, that was one of the most sincere full-bodied laughs I've seen in a while.
Love this series, big black pudding fan! P.S. Hope you visit Czech Republic in the near future.
I love to see you in that part of the world! Fantastic video, as always!
I love how host from very different cultures are always very curious to see Sonny's honest reaction to their food.
People all over the world have really grown to respect him cause he's eaten and done soo much.
Great job man
Really cool experience! Love this video. 🥰
Once again top notch my man. Cheers to you and your team for always bringing the best. Thank you!
Loving this series… reminds me of my trip to Iceland 🇮🇸. You should go there also. Then do the British isles 😊
British isles?and eat what?Beans on toast?:))
@@EDD-xr4ub hahaha… we have other things. He could go to Scotland… try haggis etc. but yeah, England is short on strange foods I guess.
@@prehistoricpleb no mate,Uk is short of decent eatable food not even speaking of tasty food cause there is none..Haggis:=))Millions of tourists are queing to come to the Uk and try haggis, beans on toast and bread and butter puddinc:)))
OMG I almost fell out when they were talking about the Whale with Ball’s. That was so damn Funny 😂
These are the most sympathetic people I’ve ever seen. They do many of the things that we do in Croatia. Very interesting
