- Hi,
In this video I start the dreaded process of fixing my doors. I’ve put this job off for nearly 12 months now but it’s time to finally get on with the job.
Hope you enjoy and any feedback and tips are welcome as I’ve never done this before.
As always, please like and subscribe for more content.
Thanks,
MINI TOM
Hey Tom those doors look saveable. I used one of those repair panels. It wasn’t bad to fit. Good video 👍
Simpson’s Classics the passenger side looks worse, but should also be saveable. They don’t seem to fit too bad, I guess I’ll soon see once the skins are on
Nice start tom your garage looks damp pal.
thedjse horrendous isn’t it, wish I could afford a big brick double garage, with an apex roof and electric door
Nice 1 Tom. New skins and pins will reduce the annoyance and percentage of rust in your Mini by at least 50% :) my tip would be make sure they fit well before doing the final welds. See the latest Project Binky for getting the gaps right. Really well done. Simon.
Fix'n Things hi Simon, hows the van coming along? Yep a big task for sure but I can’t wait until they’re done. I saw the blinky episode on Sunday, to say they weren’t shooting for perfect, if mine are half that good I’ll be pleased lol
MINI TOM mine are just as bad as they were originally so feeling like I nailed it :) it’s a BMC car so you gotta leave some rough bits or you drive yourself nuts all over the car. I’m just waiting for a free day to get mine into a nice paint booth I’ve found literally 500 meters up the road. Should be the ez part??
Happy new year Tom! I was messing about with my tracking the other day with a Trackace and searched for an online tutorial and yours came up 👍
Trev's Blog hi pal good to hear from you, how did you find the trackace? I thought they were actually quite good! And how is the van coming along? Did it pass its mot? Did it pass the catering inspection? And is it working? So many questions lol. Guess I’ll have to wait until it’s released. Happy new year to you and your family and best of luck with the van pal
MINI TOM All passed but unfortunately couldn’t do the event due to the weather but at least we’re on the home stretch. Part 20 coming soon... probably the biggest project I’ve ever done and thinking of keeping things more simple in the future! I used the trackace a while back, my mrs hit a pot hole, passenger side front. The car was pulling to the left. I set the steering straight ahead and set up the unit as per instructions and the gauge identified the wheel to be toeing out more than it should. I corrected by adjusting the track rod end and it was perfect afterwards. The van was a little more tricky as I had no way of finding the central position without driving it first, so I just had to guess. I struggled initially as every time I adjusted the tracking the steering column moved without me realising to start with, so with every adjustment things just got worse... I twigged what was going on in the end. Cheers Trev
Mini doors are terrible
