There is a weld where you pointed to. As for the dent. Get a file and file it flat.

Nice update on Project Sprout. The door is going to look awesome when it’s got it’s top coat on it. Let me know if you need replacement stripes supplied and or fitted, happy to help.

Several decades of doing paintwork has taught me about the dangers of micro blistering which can come through the paint even many years after painting when we have either very low temperature of frost or very high summer heat . The problem is wet flatting. With today's modern paint you want to seal the bare metal with a two pack epoxy primer first. My choice then is a two pack polyester spraying filler a light black guide coat and importantly dry block sand it as it is water porous or you could use a primer filler but again dry sand only. Then give it a second 2 pack epoxy primer which is impervious to water to finally seal it against moisture - so guide coat, then you can wet block sand and dry off really well leave in dry warm conditions long enough to fully dry out everywhere then go in to colour and clear lacquer. Finally sand in 2000 and finally 3000 grit wet if you prefer both with DA over big flat areas and edges corners etc by hand finally machine polish at low speed with a medium then fine compound and damp pad taking time and great care . Wax polish a couple of weeks later.

    Keith.
Very surprised that fitted quite well out of the box.
Has Mark fitted these Heritage doors with same success ?
