Leo showed more emotion in 4 minutes than his old man showed in 10 years 😂
you didn't watch him win the 1980 Wimbledon final then?
@@stoolpigeon4285 I sure did, as well as all previous Wimbledon finals in which he competed. Even when he fell to his knees on the grass, you would never have said he wore his heart on his sleeve.
@@hughan00 I would say, given his self-control, the fall to the knees carried more emotion than all the squealing and fist-punching of the modern player
@@stoolpigeon4285 You could be right, there 😆
Maybe, then again, he won 11 grand slams before retiring at the age of 26...
How pleased to see the young Borg is in action on ATP Tour.
Congrats on this win to Leo. Wish him best of luck on his career.
He has solid tennis ability. If he can stay stable mentally, he will reach top 200 or even top 100 this year. #BorgLegacy
Pa vi ste zivi 😮😮
I hope he keeps going up up up !
God damn you're deluded!
Let's compare him to the lowest ranked player of the same age in the top 200.
Nicholas David Ionel, a 20 year old Romanian, ranked at 195. Same age as Leo so let's see how their careers compare at this point.
ITF Level:
Ionel has 128 wins, Borg has 58.
Ionel has reached won 11 tournaments, Borg has won 2.
Challenger Level:
Ionel has 32 wins, 40 losses.
Borg has 0 wins, 13 losses.
Ionel has been winning matches at Challenger level since he was 18, Borg is yet to win a single match at 20.
Same age, same point in their career. One of them has won lots of titles, has shown an ability to win games at Challenger level, has pushed in to the top 200 and looks like a talented young player. One of them has barely played any matches at Challenger level, has lost every single match he has played, and is going nowhere.
Borg is a solid player, but every player in about the top 1000 is a solid player. He's not in any way special, he's not unusually talented, he's not a standout player in any way. 20 years old without a single Challenger win says it all.
If he cracks the top 400 then he's done well, if he ever cracks the top 300 it'll be an amazing achievement, and if he reaches the top 200 it'll be a miracle.
@@KeyofDavid5778 Hubert Hurkacz will destroy him in clay court.
@@flash-uj6ly Hubert is a top 20 player Leo isn't even in the top 100 what are you talking about ! You nuts crazy 🤪
Son of a great! Wish good luck to him and his career.
His backhand looks like a chip of the old block! Well done Borg we want to see a lot more of you!
Actually it's pretty flat, kinda like a right handed Connors. He really has no killer weapon so honestly I wonder how ymer managed to lose this one, go figure...
His backhand is harder and flatter than his old man's. It's closer in style to Connors' backhand. His overall style is also closer to Connors than to his old man's.
I'm officially old now. I grew up watching his dad play against the likes of Connors, McEnroe, Vilas, et. al. The only comparison between father and son is in surname only. Totally different games and eras. Good job, Leo!
And also totally different talent I’d say
@@akio2730sure
@@akio2730It really can't be totally different if Leo is also capable of reaching the top 100 as all top 100 players are extremely talented.
@@akio2730 agreed - the son has an aggressive playing style
@@tijgertjekonijnwordopgegeten sure it can. the son is aggressive. the father a counter puncher
confirmed RG-wimby double next year
And will retire at 26 😂
Or next round out and never seen again (or maybe 2024 with a Wildcard again in Sweden)?
Three consecutive channel slams 2024-2026, get hype
He has the genetics to beat Alcaraz but he might need more than that.😮

Really great , always thought it was a shame Agassi did not teach he kids tennis he thought it would be too much pressure. Leo looks like he is having fun, living his own life.
Did the kids ever ask to be taught?
Andre Agassi's son Mike was drafted in the MLB draft by the Chicago Cubs a year or two ago as a pitcher. He pitched at USC in college. I don't think Mike Agassi ever wanted to play tennis and follow in his father's enormous footsteps. He wanted to, and his parents encouraged him to, follow his own niche. His parents are two of just three players in history (Serena Williams being the other) to achieve a career Super Slam: winning all four GS titles, an Olympic Gold Medal, and the season-ending ATP/WTA Championships.
Always great to see second generation stars. Hope to see Borg win many more matches and maybe even titles down the line
Yes
Right now he can go to round 2-3 in big grand slam and may take at least one set from big player, it is unknown how his mentality
I would not bet to much on it. Winning his first tour-level match at 20. I mean, stranger things have happended...but the ods are kinda against you
@@monotypemesh3174you ever heard of Christopher Eubanks he's a 27 year old American that made the quarterfinals of Wimbledon this year.... I mean what the heck with the negativity❤😊
Daniel Medvedev was ranked outside of top-100 as a 20 year old and more or less an obscure nobody at the time who mostly played on the Challenger tour. Leo is only 20 years old. Time will tell how good he can be, but lets be clear about that Leo has an advantage vs all other late bloomers as the son of multi-millionaire Björn Borg. He will obtain the help from all academies available, and all people from Rafael Nadal to Roger Federer would gladly help him if the offer is right. There is no other dude on the Atp tour right now who possess the type of resources as Leo being the son of Björn Borg with a net worth of 75 million dollar. The question is just how willing Bjorn Borg is to invest in his sons career. Up until now he has not invested a lot of time and money, but after he took a set vs Tommy Paul in Stockholm last year, he seems more eager to finance his sons pursuits.
@@KeyofDavid5778 Eubanks is 5 classes above Borg,Eubanks has big serve which alone can get him far in any tournament,Borg doesnt have that, and you can't compare them
Let's go, Leo, your smile is bigger than your game, and you resonate confidence and exude positive energy !!!😊❤
We would prefer a top game and no smiles at all, for him
@doudou3392 You obviously don't understand that the muscles in your face control the muscles in your body. Look at Carlos Alcaraz he smiles when he loses points.....it's called relaxed Confidence .
By the way, he's #1 in the world at 20 years old !
*wins one match*
commentator: "there's a new Borg in town!"
Literally a new Borg in town because the old one retired a fat minute ago 🙃
me: what's your weapon?
borg: me name
me: what i thought
He looks like his dad too ,
more emotions !
❤
Another fantastic dag for Nordic tennis! The return of one of the greatest names of old and hopefully Leo will do well especially after his success on ITF tour already. With this win he will move to top 400. Will be interesting to see how he progresses
I think Leo Borg's game has improved so much this year. It is not easy to predict what the future brings since there are difficult competitions at this high level, but he is far more talented than some may realize.
He hadn't really stood out in his Futures attempts that I've seen, but I guess he rose to the occasion. Well done Leo.
Yeah saw him in the 2021 Wimbledon Boys' Singles and expected him to go further. But I guess it's a bit unfair putting expectations on the guy just because of his status. Good luck and keep plugging away Leo!
@@CJMcMullet There are highlights of some of his ITF matches of this year and indeed I've seen comments that expect him to be the next big thing just cause of his name. He's doing fine.
@@CJMcMullet I mean they made a video about his first and only ATP win... even if he has some chances he'll be crushed by pressure.
He’s 0-13 in challengers so far and it’s his first ATP win after 2 other attempts. I mean look at what your fathers name can do, I imagine not many kids with his resume will have a video made for them after their first win at 20. Like we have a 20 year old 2 slam champion to put it in perspective.
He has already won 2 Futures and got into the final of another so that is better than many hundreds out there..
Well, here is Leo the neoBorg, just the same... with a big smile added! Good news for tennis.
❤
OMG 😳
Borg is back !
❤❤❤
Like father like son I hope .
😂😂😂
Big Borg fan...Arrived Marbella summer of 1980 to find BB was the pro at Puente Romano for the month of August...did not see him, but did see his gf at the time out shopping downtown. Later purchased there and became a member....incredible club with three playing surfaces....I should add Manolo Santana, another Wimbledon winner, was the pro during those years.
There's a lot to clear up in his game, but he seems to have the Borg shoulders and a good disposition. Wish him good luck.
This looks like junior tennis! These two have a long way to go!
Leo looking great. I think he will win US Open this year.. go Leo!
Best ATP player. Leo!!
He seems like a very nice fellow at least from the interviews I have seen. I wish him all the best.
I see comments saying he’s 20 he’s too old to be good. As if every good player wins a slam by the time the emerge from the womb. Not every future top star plays atp events exclusively by the age of 16.
Who are you to judge ?
Are you a coach do you play tennis and are you in the top 500 in the world if not keep your mouth shut moron !
If at 20 he's no. 450 we can say that it's an unexpected result if he reaches the first 200, a complete miracle if he enters the top 100.
Not really. Medvedev was ranked as number 200 in the world as a 19-year old. Norbert Gombos was ranked outside top-500 as a 20-year old but reached the top-100 later in his career. There are many more examples of late bloomers. Christopher Eubanks is just one of many.
@@MarioBeartthere are plenty of examples of players emerging the top 100 in their late 20s. Christopher Eubanks is a prime example of this he is 27 and at his best and he certainly wasn’t his best at 20 ranking wise. The wta has pegula, jabeur who are nearing their 30s and are in their peaks.
He is a very, very good player with an exceptional level of talent. He could go very far, if only he had a few "connections", or someone who knew a little bit about tennis that could guide him. Someone who is on his side. Such a person would be very hard to find.
the father
What the heck is that ymer grunt? Sounds like he is summoning something!
Mannnnn his shot choices at net sometimes kill me. Needs some Jack Sock angles on those volleys
Nice win for Leo, however he has a hard time finishing points, that's a bit worrisome.
Match seem to me so passive from both sides, actually not a great match from Ymer. Not trying to hate or anything, but I'm unimpressed.
Exactly my point, he has no killer weapon
The kids got an amazing backhand.
Borg,......I think I have heard that name before in tennis...................
Bad week for the Ymer chumps 😂
“You have to be patient on the clay”. -Bjorn Borg 😂🎾
Now he has to go and grind it out in the challenger circuit
Leo is a undoubtedly a very talented player , and really shows signs of a bright future at this age of 20 . But there's a real problem which occurs to him when it comes playing against top players , and that is his mentality. Although he got an escape in the match against Ymer, but he lacks sign of attacking: and gives his opponents a lot of "easy" chances to clear the ball . I hope he gets out from this soon ! Good luck
Sounds like ymer says "missa" after every shot. Its swedish for "miss" like miss a shot.
His father was so handsome back in the day, and hey, the kid’s kinda cute too😂 Anyways, I’m already a fan, I hope he does well. It would be such a cool thing to see a generational extension of tennis greatness!!!
Patience he has ... hope there is.
He's only 20. Hopefully he can keep going.
I dont see a weapon he can use to end point. but that may come with time
Something is telling me this boy could go far one day!! 😂🎉😅
He def needs to work on putaways but super solid otherwise
Cool 🙌👍💯👊
8x odds!😆
I believe his father was Cy Borg, wasn't he?
Let’s go Leo.
Is this the brother of Michael ymer?
Yes it is.
The retriever is foundation but shotmaker era...
Did no one tell Elias that resistance is futile?
Imagine if Leo Borg becomes one of the next goat
Twenty is a bit late for winning your first match if you're going to be a great.
What about Christopher Eubanks age 27 makes in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon you people are morons
Alcaraz is same age….a bit of a difference in goat chances to be fair
@@Vikingnartists Who said he's going to be a goat.... he's playing tennis because he loves the sport and he might want to play it for his profession of his life !
@@KeyofDavid5778 if you read the comment I replied to it will come to you why I said what i said lol
The battle of two Swedish players.
Ojala pueda con la presión a la que va a ser sometido si sigue ganando partidos……
Nice backhand.
Very good BH - weak FH though that will be his limiting factor
His father was phenomenal, but his game is incredibly boring,i don’t think that he will even win any title with his style of play(he is very passive)
One question : He's son of Bjon Borg?
Since when is Ymer’s FH that weak? He looks like he was just going through a light practice. That is not an ATP level forehand. You see plenty of top juniors that hit bigger. His brother has a huge game in comparison.
first and only win ever
Leo Borg has a good forehand but needs to work on that backhand.
Why is Ymer’s grunt a sentence?
Like father like son
His dad must be so proud! And I just read he's engaged to Madison Keys! Congratulations!
God no! She’s engaged to Bjorn Fratangelo
@@gabrielametodieva8360 no it's bjorn borg's son Leo, the guy in this video.
@@terrymunoztrujillo483no, it's Bjorn Fratangelo who is engaged to Madison Keys, not Leo Borg. Leo Borg has a girlfriend named Vanessa Ersöz
WHAT THE F- IS THAT GRUNT FROM YMER
Ymer probably realizing he’s next to get banned and couldn’t focus because of it.. 😅
Wrong Ymer!
@@pallew6898 I meant because they're brothers, they probably take the same supplements... so he knows he's next to get in trouble
Against ymer the doper aswell😂😂👍
Very seldom do we see offspring do better than the parent. Casper Ruud is the only player I know who has surpassed his dad.
Erling Haaland
Hmm I would do some research , many great players had a parent that was a mid-level player. Look at thiem or Tsitsipas just to name a couple.
Stefan Korda is getting there....
There are probably lots of players who did but then again their parents weren’t famous. If we’re talking about top 50 players then I can’t think of anyone else. Also with brothers - very few brothers both make it big, Zverevs are the only ones that have been top 50 at the same time recently. It’s a lot more common with sisters to succeed it seems.
That depends on how good the parent was.
he'll be a multi slam winner
Just a couple Swedes out for a knock.
Leo is just a tad younger than alcaraz (1 month and a few days) and alcaraz has already won 2 grand slam... Genes doesnt mean much hey?!
Gene is not a carbon copy. You get it from both mother and father, so it's a crab shoot from the start.
ymer bros just keep losing
And the other one just got suspended for 18 months.
@@roter13 Yes, but his conscience is clear with God as his witness. Seems it would have been easier for God to remind him not to skip the doping tests

You can tell he ain’t got it like his dad got it
Regular pusher..
He had a backhand winner to set up his match point do you not know anything about tennis its clay-court😂
Both Ymer brothers play to slow/boring tennis, zero winning strokes. just plays on opponents misstakes. Classic training products with little raw talent sadly.
Are you in the top 500 in the world what qualifies you to make such statements?
Do you play tennis if so what's your level ?
Are you a coach if so who do you coach?
They don't strike hard but they are far from talentless, especially Mikael
