My theory for season 2 is that there won't be a season 2. The creators explored pretty much all the concepts of a multiverse setting and also had a lot of philosophical scenes, so i really dont see how many more things they could introduce in season 2 without it feeling samey and rehashed. I wouuld be just fine if this was just a miniseries because it was very good sci fi. Apple is also notorious for not really following up with yearly seasons, even for successful shows like Severance or Silo. So i dont have high hopes for this one. PS: there were exactly 45 vials in the box that Charlie opened up. 9x5 = 45. I know match is hard, but i feel like as a YTer you can just pause the episode and count them. Its not that hard. Pisses me off when people say "about 40" in every one of these breakdowns i have seen.
I'll take this over the shows back in the day where every season was 20+ episodes, so everything was dragged out. I would love to see more seasons, but I'd also be fine with where they left it.
Yeah I don't disagree in general but I have to say I loved sliders .. always some comical moments. Lots and lots of predictive programming if you know what to look for.. and just a fun watch all in all
Yeah, i hear that. Back then there were a lot fewer TV networks that did high budget tv shows, and when they invested they went ham ordering 2-3 seasons from the start. Since TV viewership started to die down in the late 2000s when young people started watching things on the internet more and more, there was no longer a big incentive to create long format tv shows from a financial perspective. Also those 4-5 season shows had a lot of filler, so i prefer mini series with good condensed stories than a bloated watered down show of multiple seasons. Sliders was a good show, but it also felt stale in later seasons and it did have a lot of boring episodes, especially after they killed off Prof Arturo who was carrying the show hard. If you want to watch a good sci fi show full of truth reveals, then Stargate SG-1 remains the king. If you know what to look for that is...
The Edgerton guy that played Jason Killed it he showed his acting chops. And we were able to see the subtle Differences between them which is credit to his acting ability. They had slightly different postures and mannerisms Bravo to Edgerton
Yeah the only actor I know who can def do this better is Tatiana maslany of orphan black who can not only play different roles in the same show, but accents too! She's about as impressive of an actress as I've seen... minus hulk smh :/
@@Salty010 sadly dont think she had a choice, there is no way she could have been good, bad concept.. or, .. well something much darker.. but ill leave that alone
By far the best sci fi multiverse series ever. Solid 9/10. I’d like to see what the 100 Jasons do. Perhaps they can continue the research with the funding they got from Leighton. Also the police have to find the bodies and and eventually find the box. Then we can explore a plot revolving around the CIA/ multiverse police and multiverse terrorists/criminals with multiple boxes etc.
@@tyizzle80 from a strictly scientific perspective, this show is the best. I haven’t seen any shows use consciousness and quantum physics to explain the multiverse in a way that is scientifically plausible.
So does this mean there’s now an infinite number of “Jason, Daniella, and Charlie” primes that all walked into a different final universe based on Charlie’s infinite possible decisions in picking their new ‘home’… And maybe in some of them Charlie picked a world where their Jason prime died instantly… so they use their remaining 47 ampules of Lavender Fairy to try find their original universe to pick up another Jason “prime”. And then those keep infinitely splitting due to every possible decision it took to get there. Which would lead to at least 100 Jasonless Daniela and Charlies making their way back to Universe 1.. So all the sad and abandoned Jasons can live happily ever after all. Then those keep replicating going back into the box.. and trouble ensues as they realize every universe is prone to infinite Jason, Daniela and Charlie’s trying to make it their home. Leading to the only logical conclusion of founding a “Council of Rick’s” style Jasonverse devoid of any other humans. Where they live in harmony and scavenge other universes for tech to build a utopia. A Jasontopia if you will. Ill stop here before I lose any sense of sanity
Haha crime scene, scene of the crime.. it appears this victim has had a splitting headache.. (dark ominous tones)))....(hope you saw forgetting Sarah. Marshall or this doesn't work)
I think that the idea behind their hyper-focused attention to Jason's storyline and why he was the only one to receive a satisfying ending was more about the psychological exploration of happiness and what it means to be content with what you have. Everything Jason went through in the box, the countless versions he experienced all had something in common in that they manifested a fear or a hope he was having that time, when he was focused on superficial things like looks - that's what he got, when he was so scared to come back home, only to realize he is not wanted - he returned to a world in which Daniela has a restraining order against him.. All of it culminating in him sitting down and saying that however unperfect it is - he wants the life that he had. I saw that loos newel post as an affirmation of that, as it is a point of reference for Jimmy Stewart's character in _"It's a Wonderful Life"_ - where there's a loos newel post on the staircase that at the end, kind of breaks him as it serves as "the last straw" of his troubles that leads him to try to take his own life, only for him to kiss it in appreciation when he finally returns back home, forgetting its there and accidently knocking it out again.
holy shit i can't believe i missed that reference!!! it didn't even occur to me how "it's a wonderful life" is basically the OG "dark matter", with the same principle of plot and the same conclusion
@@Klayhamn There's even a scene of him running along the street with the cinema in the background, a similar scene to in 'It's a Wonderful Life', and actually that very same film is what's showing.
Maybe the mofo could have just bought some wood glue and just glue that damn newel in place so this whole thing would not happen. XD I say that but i procrastinate to fix the smallest thing in my own house...
Is it just me that found the season finale subpar? What happened to Amanda storyline What happened to Leighton storyline What happened to blaire who pepper sprayed jason? I loved the season but feel like last two episodes haven’t been up to scratch
100% agree. I’d like the writers forgot about leighton. He was the big bad Jason 1 escaped from, he’s in the box hallway, but never to be heard him again. Weird
Other than Jason 2, they are all Jason 1. So it’s more accurate to call them Jason 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc. they all got kidnapped by Jason 2. Daniella could’ve ended up with any one of them and it would still be “her” Jason. Just some traumatized more than others due to the possible events in the box. We’ve been following the POV of Jason “1”, but he has no better claim than the others. The only reason why he wins, is because he got to Daniella first, which honestly is pretty fair. However now that they have stepped through the box again, they have created an infinite amount of new Jasons, Daniellas, and Charlies. So now there will be Jason 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3 etc. So whichever universe they pick, they need to figure out a way to block others from entering in again.
Jason 1 in my opinion does have some more claim to Daniela and Charlie than all the others. He is Prime Jason and the result of all the choices he made, not too different from you or I. All the other Jason’s were created by the choices he didn’t make and I’d argue aren’t “him”
@@braukwood925 Jason 1 is just one variant of the possible choices out there. How would Daniella even know which is which? Also there are infinite Daniellas too since there are many different choices that Daniella had to make since he has been gone. For instance there is probably a world out there where Daniella figured out there was something wrong with Jason 2 from the very beginning and kicked him out of the house the moment he forgot about Max, etc.
@@braukwood925 To be honest we actually dont know for sure that jason prime really is jason prime, just that he was the first to get to her. Tbh even he wouldn't know for sure. It's all a mess
Anyone else notice this?? I thought for sure that in the season finale, Jason 1 wasnt the real original Jason because the scrape on his nose was gone in the opening scene. Infact, that was the main thing I was looking for to keep track of which was which. That scrape slowly reappeared by the end of the episode though... 🤔😂
@@dffndjdjd what really threw us off was the opening scene in the finale when they are in the car. You can't see it at all. But slowly through the episode it becomes more visible. It definitely would fade that much from the previous episode to the finale. They must have just forgot about it?
The most fvcked up thing is that all Jason 1 variations are, from their own point of view, the real, first Jason. They just made different decisions. Imagine you either decide to go swimming today or you don’t. In both situations, you are still you. Now imagine all the Jasons that had to say goodbye to their family. It’s like the “main character”, Jason 1, failed.
Yeah, but they are, in the end, all 'Jason 1', all the same man who was with Daniela and Charlie before being kidnapped, but this one is only 'Jason 1' by being the one whose route we followed all the time. The whole heavy weight of this story is that they are all equally the same man, and only ended up either less wortht, or less lucky, via things that happened on the way. You could, of course, argue that the one who made the best choices is the one who ended up with her, but it may be merely the idea of smoking the cigar, which in the book at least is just shown as a random idea triggered by something he happened to see. And in any scenario, other Jasons could have ended up here later, or dealing with more, or without the cigar and that idea, merely due to them doing very good things and making the best choices in the circumstances. She is with Jason 1 at the end, but she abandons the rest of them. Even the ones who did bad stuff are the same person in the end and deserve the same sympathy, and ultimately forgiveness. One won, the others lost, and it's as bleak as that.
Dont worry about it. In a multiverse show like this the producers play with our expectations and probably made subtle changes in each episode that we dont notice in the first viewing. Consider that every time we hear the "finger snap" sound effect, we are seeing a different universe (in each episode). In the latter episodes we see different versions of Jason 1 trying to visit his family when he is running out of vials, even a version that considers doing the same identity theft like Jason 2 did, but changes his mind (we have to consider there were infinite Jason 2s that also didnt go through with the plan, like in that episode, so it could be one of them). Another example is that the RAV 4 Jason 2 buys for Charlie is not the same model as the Rav 4 from episode 8. Tiny details like that are peppered in all episodes to encourage multiple views of the show. Its a very nice writing trick that clever writers make in such stories. In the end it does not really matter which Jason it is, only the story matters and exploring the philosophies of the choices we make in life and the regrets we have... In my opinion, the show could have ended in ep 8 and it still would have been satisfying since Jason made it home and reunited with his family. But there are infinite versions of himself that didnt make it home, or stayed with Amanda in cool world, or ran out of vials and just picked a world and remained there... The writers just focused on the story of family, love, choices and consequences, which was a very good story. No regrets!
It is sad that pretty much all the Jason 1s got shafted. They all have equal claim to get the family, the only difference is that we know the whole journey of the Jason that we had the POV of. Surely there were Jasons that had to fight even harder than our Jason to get back alive. Just think that if our Jason didn't get the wife to the police station (let's say that he was the 2nd Jason that contacted the wife), he would be indistinguishable from the rest. All that mattered was who got to her first. Then at the end, they can't do anything except just watch their family leave with someone else. You know, if we had the POV of one of the side character Jason 1 instead, most of the season would be the same except towards the ending. When he loses his wife and kid and are currently stuck with dozens of copies of yourself, it's just "now what?"
@@dude-man na man, that’s a whole other level of hard. The brother fought through endless traps only to be disappointed. That’s next level hurt right there 😢
@@borisquince6302 again, i never said painless. But even Jason-Prime would still let Daniella choose in the end.. it was the obvious answer 2 episodes ago..
I loved the series, It's mind bending and captivating, I would love it if they dropped other seasons but I'm also fine if it stops there since it's a satisfying enough conclusion
they have to don' they? I mean they show all the other characters stepping into the boxes themselves...unless they are tying thing up...but they didn't need to be tied up...I never once wondered what happened to those characters Jason bumped into on his way back to his own world.
I listened to the audiobook a while back and this show more than did it justice as it expanded on the entire story. The world building was great. I just wish there was an explanation of why there wasn’t a ton of Jason2s running around if there were 100’s of Jason1s
This ending left open what happens to the multitude of “Jasons” remaining in Jason-1’s existence. The living and dead Jasons. How did Ryan know which Amanda to find? The Ryan in Jason-1’s existence didn’t know Amanda and Jason-2 didn’t mention her to him. Too many questions for the series to end like this.
The biggest problem with the show is that they never explained how it is that the box just sits there in every world and no one ever finds it or does anything with it except for the main characters. It makes no sense. And obviously it's not that other people can't see it, since Jason 2 had a construction crew box it up with concrete.
Answering things like that ruins a show. It's one thing you have to suspend disbelief to enjoy. I'm happy to ignore the flaw in what you've pointed out for the sake of it being able to remain relevant. I get it...plot hole...but also...i don't care lol Let me just enjoy it lol...kinda like explaining why Dr Who's telephone box is actually huge inside...just have to accept it lol
jason 2 should've got on the "entangled" chat and hooked up all the jasons with blue fairy so they can go find their own universe... all they need to do is manifest a universe where the jason has some kind of terminal accident where his remains can't be identified... i suppose you could argue that's actually what happened....its just that we weren't watching that version of events
they ARE in their original universe. any other universe they go to will just generate more jasons looking for more worlds... you cannot "solve" the problems of a jason without creating infinitely many other jasons who are also trying to solve the same problem an infinite problem CANNOT be solved by finite beings
@@Klayhamn I agree with you... I didn't say they weren't in their "original universe"... But there would be infinite numbers of the original universe once they return to that universe... Each with differing numbers of Jason's , all of whom made different major decisions, branching more universes. There's multiple original universes where they ran the lottery and others where they shared custody. There are universes where Daniela hooked up with multiple Jason's at the same time.. a universe for each position etc... wild stuff 😆 Possibly even more wild, the MWI of theoretical physics suggests that there would be a forked universe for every different thought that occurs in every person/beings head... And every other particle in superposition / governed by quantum mechanics... Anything that could happen would happen in its own forked universe .... Infinite I suppose technically there would actually be an infinite number of "original" universes that would be imperceptibly different to any of the Jason's... All it would take is one atom to be in a different position and they wouldn't even know
I'm very surprised they stayed at that house Charlie chose for more than one night and didnt think about the fact that their friends borrowed vehicle has tracking gps lol but oh well its a tv show gotta have its tropes somewhere
Secondly, setting aside the art of good story telling. If they wanted to solve for more Jasons (say n Jasons), they (Jason1 + family) could have: 1. Use the box to go to a hideout world. 2. Train for as long as it takes to teach Daniela and Charlie to master using the box. 3. Make m choices such that n Daniela and Charlie pairs are spawned in the multiverse. I guess this is where n=2^m, so… m= log(n)/m ( or similar , please help me math people 😅). Maybe they pick cards at random IDK. 4. Send Daniela and Charlie back to the OG world. Eventually n D&C pairs show up and pick themselves a Jason, then disappear back into the multiverse. Happy ever after. What could possibly go wrong? 😂
HAHA! I love how everyone in the comments focuses on different things even though we all watched the same show. Sign of excellent writing skills by the creators. Dont get too bogged down in the math, it does not really matter which Jason ended up with his family. We might not even be following the same Jason in each episode, but different versions of himself that make different choices. The writers focused more on the story of choice and consequence, love, family and regrets. The main takeaway is that you should not have too many regrets and just be content with the life choices you made. I really loved the philosophical concepts that were explored in this show and it made me think about some of my harder choices in life. Also in real life there are VERY FEW happy endings, so it is fitting that only 1% of Jasons ended up with his family. No regrets! :)
who would've hate this? it ended well with season 1 so much doesn't necessarily need season2 but still has the potential to be continued that's perfect
The thing about having this kind of multiverse plot, they story could easily take any direction they wanted. I loved the series, i thought they did a great job with it, but i agree they burned through the story a hell of lot faster than they had to
In the current entertainment industry climate, a tv show crew dont have any high expectations of getting renewals for following seasons so the writers try to tell a compelling story and wrap it up within 8-10 episodes. Sadly this is the current climate and financial state of the tv entertainment so writers have to adapt. I am content that they told a good story and also created a lot of ideas that could be followed up in subsequent seasons, but it is unlikely that there will be other seasons. Even successful shows like Severance and Silo did not get yearly seasons and are still up in the air as we speak... Even if there will be no second season i am still glad i saw this story. No regrets! :)
4:45 Also if anybody is still confused that this jason is the real one who married daniella and gave birth to charlie. If we observe when real jason was hit from scientist jason he took all the belongings of real jason including engagement ring. The director highlights this detail that when real jason was remembering daniella and Charlie he tied this cloth around his ring finger and after scientist jason gave his actual ring this was the scene proving this is the real jason with his wife and kid.
Remember Jason 2 put Ryan Prime into the empathy Chicago he was in a relationship with Amanda so it makes sense he would have a similar idea of what a utopian reality might look like they probably talked about it and devised what that might look like together. So it would make sense that they could both access that reality. How Ryan knew to approach Amanda that's the question to ask.
I def believe a season 2 with Amanda and Ryan being the main characters .. they both had enough scenes for it to make sense and build on.. both are familiar with the time travel.. and while amanda is "happy" in her world it seems, she is likely itching to see if there is the jason for her.. they could eventually meet up with Jason 1 and fam only for him to explain all that transpired and therefore likely not having the option to go back to land 1.. just my thoughts. I'd watch either way this season was so well done
And, what about the 2 different houses that appears in this episode?? When Rambo Jason has Jason 2 trapped, the painting on the wall of the stairs to the second floor changed. Why is that?? Two worlds? An error? timestamp 21:28 and 32:08 - 2 different paintings... WTF???
Season II could be how Jason 2 managed to keep his copies from getting to Jason 1’s world. Jason 2 was so comfortable in the box & knew where to go to get what he needed from different worlds & to show Leighton of Jason 1’s world the worlds he wanted to see. There are a lot of questions & lots of story that can be told so I’m just hoping a second season is coming.
To be honest i didnt even register that. I was too amused by the fact the episode turned into a Battle Royale for "who gets the family wins". That was a bit of fun the writers had when they were throwing out ideas what the 100 Jasons would do in the last episode. No one really asked the real question Daniella would ask "How do i know that you are my Jason?" and then Jason trying to explain (poorly) why he is the REAL Jason... I guess they had that conversation between episodes as we see that in the car in ep 9, both Daniela and Charlie are informed of the situation. But it was fun imagining the conversation myself. Man this show has some fantastic writing! But in the end it doesnt really matter which Jason did what. The writers just focused on telling a good story about family, choices and consequences and having no regrets. Its basically a 2024 version of "Its a wonderful life".
Thank you for your reviews. Your thoughts & insights added to my enjoyment of the series. Looking forward, I’m ALL-IN with a Season2 being the story of Amanda & Ryan. I’m like the idea of closing the door on the Jason Family Adventure. BTW, I’m far from sure that the Amanda we see in the end is the ORIGINAL Amanda that travelled with Jason1. On the plus side, she IS in Seattle (the Seattle Needle can be seen out the window), but I’m perplexed by the conversation between Amanda & Ryan. She would have known who he is-from all universes but Jason1’s original universe. And, Amanda knows Leighton (in Jason2’s world) killed Ryan-which is why she grabbed Jason1, and helped him escape. Bottom line: there’s a LOT of questions that can be explored concerning Amanda & Ryan. And, that’s perfect for a Season2.
I loved this episode.... I think this was one the best episode of the season! Joel Edgerton really knocked this one out the park with his acting. I felt it for those Jason's waiting at the box and when one of them stepped up and asked y does he get to be with them I swear I had to hold back the tears. This was a beautiful episode and am glad they spent the time to show Jason and Daniela rekindle the flame after being apart. Also glad Jason 2 stepped up and helped them escape. I found it so funny when I read the message board and they called the other Jason's Rambo 😂😂😂 But overall this was a great series and I do hope they make a season 2...am here for the multiversal madness !!
If infinite number of Jason 2 were created from Jason 1 abducting him wouldn’t that apply to Ryan 2, Ryan mechanic, Amanda from Jason 1 world, and both Leightons? This is really a multiverse madness that hopefully gets another season.
Loved the show and hope there’s more. Now I wanna rewatch 90’s Sliders, but then again how it ended, spiraling downward after moving to the sci-fi channel…
i loved this show. In the last episode i expected OG Jason to tell Daniela he met Max, i'm surprised he didn't. Also, i never quite understood how the boxes appeared in other universes. OG Jason didn't build a box to travel through.
They probably just left a bunch of potential threads to be there to potentially follow in order to make a season 2 if there is demand for a continuation and then will use them to try and cobble together something reasonably coherent if there is. In the end making quality material isn't the main aim of the makers of these shows, but just stringing it out to maximise profits. It'll get clumsy and thin at some point, and then they'll probably just cancel it with lots of threads left open, and questions unanswered, or them at best tied up too quickly, simply, shallowly, and poorly. The book ends here. Maybe the show should too. But, true, the book didn't have most of these loose ends. They are there, as I say, probably to potentiate a new season, but not necessarily with a good plan of how to continue them, let alone tie them up satisfactorily. Maybe they're mining these comment sections for ideas. You won't get paid.
Given that the author of the book was also writing all the screenplay of the series if there is in fact, a second season, it probably could work since he’s the author of both the book and the TV series?
@@boardgamefangirl A fair point, but even good writers can run thin on ideas, and even if they know when to stop, they can end up in a commercial set up where they're pushed and pushed to put out thinner and thinner stuff to keep the machine going. It's happened at other times. But, yes, maybe he'll resist all those pressures and maintain standards.
Ryans deal is he knows she isn’t the Amanda in that world cause she’s supposed to be “disappeared” so he knows it’s gotta be an Amanda from another world
@@kigas24 I can only guess that Ryan is really looking for the amanda of that world not her bc as he said he dont know her but was looking for her and in the ep when jasons amanda stood in that world she said that amanda didnt have family and disappeared and also had great credit she never said what she worked as.. So with that amanda from that world must have been working for Vlabs or something like that and Ryan had timr to found out what he needed to find out to make him want to look for her and as you can see he also created his version of the amp juice.. So its not her he looking for but that worlds amanda and if you notice they pointed out something like this would happen by making jason leave her 2 amps juices not just one...
It’s never too late to do the right thing and Jason 2 surprised me and I started to empathize with him. I’m also pretty sure the way he think rubbed off on the other Jasons which is why they let him pass at the end. I never thought this was the story of Jason 1 but Jason 2= as he explained in the tape. Finding what made him, him and different from everyone else - Hope he finds his way back to Amanda
I was really happy to watch this show, but I have to admit I’m disappointed with the ending…… too many times, time and again good shows get fairytale endings. Hoping for an ending like something that made us question our reality…. So much of the boxe’s science and engineering wasn’t explained. Maybe at the end, finding out that they picked the wrong jason I guess, I just wanted more This show deserved a better ending. Something different, something that we wouldn’t understand because we’re not supposed to understand the fifth dimension. Idk that’s me🤦🏽♂️ By the way, this was a great video. I love the way you edited it, especially with memes as you say your dialogue Looking forward to your future videos 🫡🚛
Love this show, Im not seeing alot of great apple shows being broken down or reacted to like amazon, netflix shows or atleast the channels im watching, is apple being litigious or CR strike-happy, nintendo partnering the channels?
Ok, a logical error in the series or story: If Jason has lived his entire life peacefully and then his rival comes through the box, how did the box get into Jason's reality? In his reality strand or universe, the box doesn't exist at all. And another thing: in all parallel universes in infinite quantity there have to be realities without the box, which in it self is impossible because you can access all parallel universes only with the box.
I guess I am the only one who noticed just before Blair entered the box, she looked back and up into the glass enclosure, where there was another Blair to the far right. So, which version of Blair is this?
It's impossible to know which Jason is really the Jason 1. Besides the Jason that created the box, all the other Jasons lived the life of Jason 1... they all think they are Jason 1
This can go far to Season 4. It connects to our soul because we are Jason 1 in real life. The reason this can be a successful series. Family is everything, and I'm rooting for future seasons. The best part of Dark Matter is the surprise that can be outrageous for sci-fi fans like me. Charlie's world that he chose at the end would be fascinating to lure for Season 2.
Blake Crouch has expanded on his orginal novel, making me think he's clearly plotted out a much bigger story with new characters, eg, Blair Caplan wasn't in the book. Those loose threads aren't loose at all, they're there to be picked up if Apple TV decides to give the show a second season.
This episode was disappointing to say the least. Boring and very predictable once they got to Charlie’s house. Season 2 I’m guessing is going to happen. I predicted they would go to Amanda’s world and I think that’s where they end up.
If they do this right, for season 2, they will follow the Enders Game/Speaker for the Dead model and not actually do another high-velocity season, but follow one of the Jason 1.x characters in what you called the "jason-verse" and other worlds as he gets past his family & entire life being Shrodringered away. He can tie up loose ends with the Leighton character(s) who is/are pretty rmuch the only one(s) I personally care about. The Blairs were interesting so we can bump in them again. But, I expect this wll be more like Ready Player Two.
🚨this could go on forever ,imagine how many people have been swap, plus Daniela Knows she has a life with art she might go back since she knows basically everything plus more information from seeing the Laptop!
this show might have been inspired by Sliders but much better. still what about all the Jasons in universe 1 and all the dead Jasons? still a wonderful show.
I'm pretty sure that the real jason didn't end up with d&c. He was either the guy who was helping them to leave in the ending or the guy who got sprayed by blair.
Not a perfect show but I liked it. Great breakdown! It’s wild that Apple has two popular multiverse based shows streaming so close together with this and constellation. Maybe the universes are connected!! Haha 😮
I’m still confused i’m definitely going to rewatch the show but when the “Beanie” Jason was talking about how Dawn killed Daniella I COULDVE SWORN THAT MEANT HE WAS THE REAL JASON cause i remember seeing that!
I’d be happy with the show if it ended on this episode. The endless loops of the multiverse theory can spit out a few seasons but the main character and story line has been fulfilled. The series was awesome, I enjoyed every episode. 9/10. What if…
There are many universes with Jason 2 stealing Jason 1's family. All these different versions of Jason 1 should get in the box and keep searching, but they need to find another Ryan first, because they need the compound.
They took a really big swing, but bit off more than they could chew. Don't get me wrong, this was a great idea and they pulled it off, but in the end it started to unravel. The danger of telling a story of a multiverse, by it's very nature it must get overly complicated. The problem (which becomes apparent at the end of the finale) is the necessary compounding of each person who enters the box. 2 becomes 4-8-16-32-64-128-256-512 and so on until it get to the point of, well, being pointless.
How do you know all the numbers for the random Jason's??? When you showed the scene where they all at the box waiting I said to myself he better not know and share each number for each Jason there 😂😂😂. This was an excellent show. Each Jason other than 1 & 2 must feel horrible having to accept that they can't have their family back even after they finally made it back to the right universe smh.
I’m thinking Ryan found Amanda cz maybe the mysterious reappearance of a rich woman (I’m guessing she’s rich cz…good credit, fancy shit) missing 2 years…especially with digital ID in a world that advanced, went through the grapevine and he did some calculated math that she’s from another universe and sought to find her in Seattle.
The show was pretty nice but I somehow didn’t felt connected that much with Jason , something was missing in the series and there were some plot lines which could have been explored
I don’t know. I’m on episode 7 and feel like I’m slogging through it. It’s getting tedious. One glaring plot hole. If Amanda was training “ Boxanauts “ why didn’t she know that one’s own thoughts and feelings influenced the alternate world that awaited them? Hum, seems kinda important to know.

@@danielciocilteu3545 Season 2 was already announced

By far the best sci fi multiverse series ever. Solid 9/10. I’d like to see what the 100 Jasons do. Perhaps they can continue the research with the funding they got from Leighton. Also the police have to find the bodies and and eventually find the box. Then we can explore a plot revolving around the CIA/ multiverse police and multiverse terrorists/criminals with multiple boxes etc.
a TVA organization will be form in the future.
You are reaching hard. It wasn't even better than Constellation. But it was a really good show
Connelly cherry on top
@@tyizzle80 from a strictly scientific perspective, this show is the best. I haven’t seen any shows use consciousness and quantum physics to explain the multiverse in a way that is scientifically plausible.
I disagree about the hundred Jason’s. I think they need to find a way to close that loop because it would be too much to constantly worry about.
So does this mean there’s now an infinite number of “Jason, Daniella, and Charlie” primes that all walked into a different final universe based on Charlie’s infinite possible decisions in picking their new ‘home’…
And maybe in some of them Charlie picked a world where their Jason prime died instantly… so they use their remaining 47 ampules of Lavender Fairy to try find their original universe to pick up another Jason “prime”.

@@JBuckStudios I think that season 2 is going to be titled, Dark Matter: The Rush To Amanda.
I would agree. I think what makes this work is the emotional investment we have in the Jason prime (J1) and his family.
Well done.. and the fact you knew what a newel post was made me smile 😂 I'm in window and door sales

What happened to Amanda storyline
What happened to Leighton storyline
What happened to blaire who pepper sprayed jason?
I loved the season but feel like last two episodes haven’t been up to scratch
I feel the same
100% agreed
I agree. The dozens of Jasons weren’t so interesting for me.
100% agree. I’d like the writers forgot about leighton. He was the big bad Jason 1 escaped from, he’s in the box hallway, but never to be heard him again. Weird
I share your sentiments toward episode 9.
They definitely gonna need a season 2 still some loose ends to tie up and so many character arcs to explore
That's what I thought, and maybe there is jason 2.1 , 2.2 etc that haven't regret for what he's done
Cement bro
@@braukwood925 To be honest we actually dont know for sure that jason prime really is jason prime, just that he was the first to get to her. Tbh even he wouldn't know for sure. It's all a mess

I thought for sure that in the season finale, Jason 1 wasnt the real original Jason because the scrape on his nose was gone in the opening scene. Infact, that was the main thing I was looking for to keep track of which was which. That scrape slowly reappeared by the end of the episode though... 🤔😂
Hahahahaha... i was thinking of this too.
That was not Jason 1 with them the whole epsiode in my opinion! No scars and they made it feel weird.
@@dffndjdjd what really threw us off was the opening scene in the finale when they are in the car. You can't see it at all. But slowly through the episode it becomes more visible. It definitely would fade that much from the previous episode to the finale. They must have just forgot about it?
This was confusing me aswell. I was using that to work out which Jason it was. Not many people seem to have picked up on this
I think the original jason 1 got killed when jason 2 went out with garbage bag.
Blair is such a bad ass !!!

Superposition
@@denbunk7815 Sorry but that doesn't answer anything.
I thought the same thing. Even a portal would have made more sense. At the end of the day it is television so it doesn’t bother me that much.
That's science 'fiction' that's fiction for us. No series can be perfect in this genre
jason 2 should've got on the "entangled" chat and hooked up all the jasons with blue fairy so they can go find their own universe... all they need to do is manifest a universe where the jason has some kind of terminal accident where his remains can't be identified...
i suppose you could argue that's actually what happened....its just that we weren't watching that version of events
they ARE in their original universe.
any other universe they go to will just generate more jasons looking for more worlds...
you cannot "solve" the problems of a jason without creating infinitely many other jasons who are also trying to solve the same problem
an infinite problem CANNOT be solved by finite beings
@@Klayhamn I agree with you... I didn't say they weren't in their "original universe"... But there would be infinite numbers of the original universe once they return to that universe... Each with differing numbers of Jason's , all of whom made different major decisions, branching more universes.
There's multiple original universes where they ran the lottery and others where they shared custody.
There are universes where Daniela hooked up with multiple Jason's at the same time.. a universe for each position etc... wild stuff 😆
Possibly even more wild, the MWI of theoretical physics suggests that there would be a forked universe for every different thought that occurs in every person/beings head... And every other particle in superposition / governed by quantum mechanics... Anything that could happen would happen in its own forked universe .... Infinite
I suppose technically there would actually be an infinite number of "original" universes that would be imperceptibly different to any of the Jason's...
If they wanted to solve for more Jasons (say n Jasons), they (Jason1 + family) could have:
How did you make this so good and so quickly? Thank you!

LOved the series. Thanks for the analysis.
No regrets! :)
Awesome. Im disappointed l won't have the next episode to look forward to, please consider season 2.
Great ending!👍👍👍
Remember Jason 2 put Ryan Prime into the empathy Chicago he was in a relationship with Amanda so it makes sense he would have a similar idea of what a utopian reality might look like they probably talked about it and devised what that might look like together. So it would make sense that they could both access that reality. How Ryan knew to approach Amanda that's the question to ask.
How do you know which number Jason is which?
Thank for mentioning that Ryan did not know Amanda. That part really confused me. Ryan would have no reason to approach Amanda.
Great show, my old school fave multiverse show is sliders from the 90's. It really cool to see all different earths.
How did Jason 2 know which Jason to save and which to head shot?
He got to the house first then followed the other Jason in
We only got to see the universe where he shot the "right" guy. The other reality would show him shooting the "wrong" guy.
I found it so funny when I read the message board and they called the other Jason's Rambo 😂😂😂
But overall this was a great series and I do hope they make a season 2...am here for the multiversal madness !!
If u look closely the jason at the end isnt jason1 he doesnt have the ring jason 2 gave him
If infinite number of Jason 2 were created from Jason 1 abducting him wouldn’t that apply to Ryan 2, Ryan mechanic, Amanda from Jason 1 world, and both Leightons? This is really a multiverse madness that hopefully gets another season.
Thank you !!!
Looooooooooooved it!!!!!!
I was really happy to watch this show, but I have to admit I’m disappointed with the ending…… too many times, time and again good shows get fairytale endings.
Hoping for an ending like something that made us question our reality…. So much of the boxe’s science and engineering wasn’t explained.
Maybe at the end, finding out that they picked the wrong jason
I guess, I just wanted more
This show deserved a better ending. Something different, something that we wouldn’t understand because we’re not supposed to understand the fifth dimension.
Idk that’s me🤦🏽♂️
By the way, this was a great video.
I love the way you edited it, especially with memes as you say your dialogue
Looking forward to your future videos 🫡🚛
Can you do the “presumed innocent” series now
Love this show, Im not seeing alot of great apple shows being broken down or reacted to like amazon, netflix shows or atleast the channels im watching, is apple being litigious or CR strike-happy, nintendo partnering the channels?
Somebody please call the TVA!
Great show. First 7 eps amazing. Last 2 not so much in my opinion. D
Felt the exact same way. It was great but the last two episodes seemed subpar.
Ok, a logical error in the series or story:
If Jason has lived his entire life peacefully and then his rival comes through the box, how did the box get into Jason's reality? In his reality strand or universe, the box doesn't exist at all.
And another thing: in all parallel universes in infinite quantity there have to be realities without the box, which in it self is impossible because you can access all parallel universes only with the box.
Question how do you know which Jason is Jason is Jason and which Jason is Jason by number Jason💫💫💫💫
The 100’s Jason’s kind of ruined it for me.. It made the story kind of messy… A 1 on 1 battle would be far better.
Anyway a solid 8 for this show!
I guess I am the only one who noticed just before Blair entered the box, she looked back and up into the glass enclosure, where there was another Blair to the far right. So, which version of Blair is this?
Thats a reflection in the window. if you watch again, her backpack in on the same side, and the reflection of the box behind her
great series... but they should explain how al Jason have money and cell service in all universes ;)
Anticipating for Season 2 with Silo and Foundation in 2026
It's impossible to know which Jason is really the Jason 1.
Would have loved an episode where they gave ‘The Shared Custody’ idea a shot 🤣🤣🤣
Why we only one Jason 2 and not more ?
Blake Crouch has expanded on his orginal novel, making me think he's clearly plotted out a much bigger story with new characters, eg, Blair Caplan wasn't in the book. Those loose threads aren't loose at all, they're there to be picked up if Apple TV decides to give the show a second season.
This episode was disappointing to say the least. Boring and very predictable once they got to Charlie’s house. Season 2 I’m guessing is going to happen. I predicted they would go to Amanda’s world and I think that’s where they end up.
Wherever our main Jason and his family went just keep the door open while your way out, so no one can enter your new world until you close it.
The simplest and yet the most intelligent decision that could have been taken x)
it doesn't work like that ... in super position
@@MTGnEWbie420 yes but the state of the box is not when the door IS open
Thank you for pointing out that Ryan did not know Amanda. That part really confused me. There would have been no reason for Ryan to approach Amanda.
I loved it, but agree with your logic. Can it.
this show might have been inspired by Sliders but much better. still what about all the Jasons in universe 1 and all the dead Jasons? still a wonderful show.
I'm pretty sure that the real jason didn't end up with d&c. He was either the guy who was helping them to leave in the ending or the guy who got sprayed by blair.
I want to know what happened to injured Leighton.
Nsh, OG Leighton mastered that box like a magician 🎩
Not a perfect show but I liked it. Great breakdown! It’s wild that Apple has two popular multiverse based shows streaming so close together with this and constellation. Maybe the universes are connected!! Haha 😮
Right?! Apple is the place for sci-fi right now
@@JBuckStudios 💯💯
I’m still confused i’m definitely going to rewatch the show but when the “Beanie” Jason was talking about how Dawn killed Daniella I COULDVE SWORN THAT MEANT HE WAS THE REAL JASON cause i remember seeing that!
Very enjoyable series
In part 3 Helen Dorothy Martin was the comic relief. She is known for her comedic roles.
Crazy!
Was really excited for this show, unfortunately I was loosing interest by the episode
*They have set up so much for season 2, I hope it's a lot more universe hoppin adventures too!*
🤙🏽🤟🏽
It's fun to think they're all the original Jason!
They could have just left thr door open, then it wont work right?
I don’t know. I’m on episode 7 and feel like I’m slogging through it. It’s getting tedious. One glaring plot hole. If Amanda was training “ Boxanauts “ why didn’t she know that one’s own thoughts and feelings influenced the alternate world that awaited them? Hum, seems kinda important to know.
knowing that its ot the jason we followed who did go with daniela is just sad damn ...hope amanda would save him in season 2
I wonder if there will be noticeable drop in the amount of newborns named 'Jason' after this.
When there aren’t established, coherent rules to time/universe travel, it becomes an increasingly convoluted web of anything can/has/will happen.
I'd rank it higher than 7. I think the story threads will be paid off in season 2.
