Do you guys remember the room in the laboratory where you had to input the code "ada" in the computer to unlock the B0-B1 and B2 levels? Well in that same room, you had another smaller room with bodybags hanging in it(ofcourse with bodies in it). I sat like 10 minutes on the couch thinking if I should enter the room or not, that's how scared I was. For me, the laboratory was the most scariest part in RE. The atmosphere there was really disturbing and creepy.
I think its by the fact that you see the bodies hanging and makes you wonder what these guys were up to. What was the reason to make suck kind of experiments with people? You realize how humanity is fucked up. Even so, i love how the background and settings can told a story without words or cutscene, the simple background can describe what happen before.
In the remake, I don't know if happens in the original too, developers used to get real rules about mutations in the game, do you know why naked zombies died definitely after some shots and you dont need to burn them? They will not resurrect because of the experiment of Luria-Delbrück of 1943. An artificially infected cell by bacterium do not reproduces the virus fast like natural diffusion. A natural uncontrolled virus will spread way more quickly the infection than forced contamination. So naked zombies is officially Umbrella subjects, dressed are victims of the infection, and they can mutate spontaneously after death, becoming crimson heads.
It was really an additional mechanic for the Remake to add a sense of danger if the Zombies in the mansion and the Lab weren't decapitated or burnt after being killed The V-ACT is merely representative of the way the T-Virus is dormant in either supposedly dead zombies or the fact that once the virus is allowed to mutate that's when many Zombies re-awaken as Crimson Heads also from the Prototype in the back of the mansion in the crypt The same isn't said for the Raccoon population as that was a different strain carried by rats into the sewer and water systems and this causes mutations that produces Lickers instead of Crimson Heads
This music was perfect for the lab, after seeing those bodies in the john/ada computer room it made me feel like I did not belong in this place & I should hurry before something unseen attacks me.
There is something tragic about this track. It is the culmination of a horrifying journey yet you can't but help but feel absolute sorrow for the ones that suffered at the hands of these monsters in the form of sick, murderous scientists and researchers..
You know the composer has done a terrific job when you feel terrified and unclean at the same time. Those little water drops make you wanna go "nope" at any lower level hospital lol
This theme tells me you have finally reached the "heart of darkness" where all the horrors you have faced so far originated, but despite everything you have seen you come to realize that the real monsters are the scientists and researchers responsible for this nightmare.
Something about the RE1 Remake and this laboratory music and section in particular gives me the original Alien movie vibes… Obviously the concepts are drastically different but I feel like they share a certain authenticity and substance in tone and storytelling…
I’m ready to say RE 1 remake is the best. The length & soundtrack makes it better. even better than part 8. Can’t wait for RE9! This OST cut is so 90s. reminds me of ARE you afraid of the Dark. Thank You Resident Evil 🙏
It was recently ported to the Wii, along with Resident Evil 0. The Resident Evil remake is still an amazing experience; Resident Evil 0, on the other hand, is significantly more frustrating and nowhere near as scary, yet it does provide an interesting component of the Resident Evil storyline. I wouldn't recommend more than a rental of that one.
Why are the lab soundtracks in the HD Remaster kinda different than the ones of the Remake?A remaster is supposed to be an upgraded version when it comes to graphics and stuff. Why was the soundtrack affected as well?
That's complete nonsense. Here's this track in Deadly Silence: th-cam.com/video/WqUwuHbbywk/w-d-xo.html Though I did read that the sped up tracks were intentionally sped up, which makes it all the more baffling, the guardhouse theme and this one were two of the most unsettling tracks in the game.
This superb remake is quite hard to get, as I know myself. Also, as far as I know (please correct me, when I'm wrong) it only is avaiable on the Gamecube (you can also play it on the Wii). I recomend some video game store in your town, like Gamestop, Pilko or something ;-)

But anyway for me the chimera's would scare the crap outta me especially with this music when they would just pop outta no where from the vents but the lab with the body bags was EXTRA CREEPY wouldn't wanna be in either Jill's or Chris's shoes investigating that entire mansion including the lab area!!!
honestly fail to understand how did Capcom in 1998 to make a game so hard ... I mean ... In the years that people have fun with Mario .. honestly if u all had this game in 2002 like me, for GameCube I hope u havnt words to describe what you transmit ..
For everyone trying to correct the title, it is correct. It is a clever play on words. "contANIMATED", what does the T virus (and others) do to it's hosts? they (the viruses) reanimate them (the hosts) after death. It takes contamination to achieve infection. So once contamination occurs, reanimation is sure to follow eventually down the line. That's why these clever artists chose the title contANIMATED, because throughout the Arklay research facility, you are surrounded by contaminated re-animations.
That's far-fetched for me, sorry. :T From the latin _"contaminare"_ , that mean something who got altered by something else, in a bad way. Like a bottle of water being undrinkable due to a droplet of acid in it. Like a piece of meat with viruses inside or parasites. It's a close synonym of "infected". That's just dirty, unpure, corrupted, rotten, and it fits as hell with the general atmosphere of Resident Evil, nothing to do with puns or anything like in my opinion. But yeah, "contaminated" exist people!
Mysterynovus There's a couple of them in the graveyard where the Magnum revolver is located. I think that's the only place I can recall encountering them.

T Moussa Makes you wonder how long have those bodies been down in the laboratory. I bet it smells awful, like the scent of death.

I always loved how Resident Evil derived a lot of horror from grossly unethical science

There's some glitch in the game where some of the music is sped up at twice the speed which unfortunately kills the atmosphere in some places.
Guy on the Internet No, its because they used the Remastered Theme in DEADLY SILENCE. Nothing else. Capcom lacks of effort.
