Great games Jingles! That battleship one reminded me of a battle I had in a New York where I managed to defend our carrier against three destroyers and a cruiser by myself, and we both survived until the end.
Spent this weekend grinding out the Farragut, sees Jingles video stating that the Farragut is a awesome destroyer. Suddenly my time doesnt feel so wasted :)
Anyone else sitting there during the Mikasa replay shouting "Hit R!!!!" at the screen? xD
How did he not go "Hmm, I just got hit by a torp, better check if I'm flooding or not."? And considering that one flooding did 16k damage (on a ship with 31k health), he would have been able to stick around for a lot longer and did a lot more damage :P
I assumed he was saving the repair for some reason...
I started yelling, "Don't hit R!" when he used his DCP when the flooding had only 5s to go.

I just unlocked my Mahan as well. And I really like it, because, while it has the same guns, they sound much more potent. I really like the Mahan's gun sounds.

he does no longer want his minions to go on vacation to nice and sunny places like your gulag, they now have to work 25h/8d/5w/13m in the salt mines. CYKA BLYAT!

Hey Jingles, if you go into the settings under "Controls" and look right next to the "Ok" button you can turn on Detailed ribbons indicators showing if your shell penetrated, bounced, spalled, or over penned while in battle, and it also turns on a damage indicator in the battle. Not sure if you already knew about this but thought id tell you anyway :)

Let us not forget that the IJN Mikasa was built in Britain with the guns being , I assume, being the creation of Vickers Armstrong. Thanks to Chester Nimitz the Mikasa is still with us as a museum ship.

Jingles IJN DDs from T8-T10 have really amazing guns, meaning that if you in anyway competent in a IJN DD you use your guns a lot more. I often treat my Fubuki as a gunboat. Often you also get the first salvo off since your concealment is way better, and if your aim is decent you can easily do a casual 3k volley before they can blink :p

Well, Jingles, I felt like you're feeling, when I unlocked my Mahan. However, for some reason, I had much better games in my Mahan than in my Farragut. I guess one becomes more used to the way those ships work! I really enjoyed my Mahan! It's much like the Farragut, yes, but that isn't really a bad thing! :P

If you like the Farragut, you gonna love the Benson. I have a Benson, and in fact I think tier for tier, the Benson is the best destroyer in the American destroyer tree.

Oh Jingles... you are gonna love the Benson, Fletcher and Gearing... (note how I skipped the Mahan...) btw from the Mahan onwards I play with accelerated torps on USN DDs, much speed, much fun...

I enjoy so much watching your videos, that I will upgrade to a computer that can run WoW and will play this game.
The Mahan is a good ship when fully upgraded. It's a lot of fun and I've had monster games in it. It's biggest Achilles' heel is that it has the worst detection range of all the American destroyers. Which is kinda funny because it's also the first American DD to boast a torpedo range in excess of that detection range.
you know what's the funniest part about this video?
Jingles put it together while he's supposed to be on holiday, taking a break from videos or whatever, but it's still probably going to be longer than tomorrow's Mingles with Jingles.

I used to love the farragut when it still had the fast, 4.5km 16.6k dmg torps. Now that was a shotgunblast to the face.

OF COURSE! Jingles uses rudder shift mod on a ship with a THREE SECOND rudder shift! You need to use ACCELERATION MOD! It is so very much better and allows you to play so much more nimbly!
If you love Farragut, you are really in for a treat with the Fletcher.
I love the Farragut...fantastic ship.
I have advanced firing training on my Farragut captain, it gives me a range of about 15 km. The shell travel time is horrible, about 12 seconds, but hey, at least I can be shooting at something rather than just milling around. The angle is hilarious, I can fire over anything but the highest mountains.
I must say 2k base xp game feels different from "10k xp game", especially when so many detonations are involved :/
And you should get a paddling for giving broadside to 1 cruiser and two battleships just to get that 2nd set of torps off against that Hipper. Devils luck tho.
About the Atago (Takao) , its not the heal consumable that makes it special . Its the guns and working front armor. Mogami is just a giant citadel and can be killed just by looking at it , but this thing... You can't even imagine how many times I've absolutely humiliated BBs with this ting. Just face him while steaming towards him and maneuver (change speed and course) , they cant kill and you just eider burn them or torp them. Its also one of the best ships to run and shoot those who chase you.
What makes this ship an absolute monster is the guns. Atago , Ibuki and Senjo have the biggest fire chance in the game , with captain skill and flags , you just burn everything you see.
I'm surprised the Mikasa didn't have the forward mounted torpedo tubes as an option in game as the ship IRL had some mounted below the waterline. Wouldn't be the first BB to have torps.
Jingles is definitely not Eurobeat in dodging torpedos :D :D slowing the atago broadside on to torp bombers lol

IMO, the Farragut is like a mini Atlanta. Therefore a lot of fun! :)

Jingles, there is one advantage to the slower, longer range torpedoes on the Mahan, they have a much lower detection range. But you are right it is a downgrade from Farragut, 10tonhammer did a guide on it saying you shift to more a torpedo oriented ship that has usable guns which I also found success in the Mahan

I've had the same in my Fubuki against an Izumo and he was furious :)
Driving my Minekaze last week - summary screen: Artillery 0/12400 - yup the bad guy missed me and the splash damage caused a detonation. No idea how that appears on his summary as it only seems to count hits.
although, if he didn't get detonated, he would've been hit with another torp, and that one could've finished him off.
Can be worse, a few days ago on the estuary map I was in my fubuki and nearly ran head long into an enemy fubuki as I came around an island, I fired my guns and the very first shell detonated him.
You also had the +100% xp camo... those things do add up :P

Hey Jingles, Love your videos. I have a question for you. I freely admit I am not a good player, matter of fact my playing ability is on the suckish side.... Can you make a video or just answer this question. What is the best way to avoid getting torped when coming around a corner of an island?? I tried slowing down/stopping and still catch a spread in the side. Any tricks?? Turn out away from the corner?? I'm interested to know the best way.

Speaking of detonations, luckiest I've ever been was in the Tirpitz. Shot at a Zao to start a match, one AP shell connects. Magazine detonation, one shot dead, first shell taken by anyone in the match a tier 8 kills a t10. I apologized and he was understandably salty about RNGesus hating him.
I taught my fellow BB captain in the NY (New York) how to use his W and D keys lol sorry Jingles but I have to pass along the advice u give us lol
