TL;DR: [obligatory "Ackshually Jingles" moment], The Gearing at 13:30 was smarter than you gave him credit for. I don't see anyone commenting this, so I think I'll just leave this here. At 13:30, the Gearing wasn't shooting at the Mecklenburg - he just sniped the Forrest Sherman, which is a much more sensible action to take than plinking a fraction of a percent of health off a battleship that will (probably) just heal it off. The Gearing probably knew he was dead one way or another, and decided to take out the single biggest threat to the remaining team, the last remaining enemy destroyer. But was it worth throwing the cap? I don't think he had a choice in the matter - the Gearing died at almost the exact same time the Forrest Sherman did. I suspect the Gearing, upon realizing he'd been spotted and that he was either out of charges of smokescreen or it was on cooldown, realized he was doomed, so he took a few shots at the Forrest Sherman before getting deleted by the Colbert. I think that was pivotal, because the Forrest Sherman can 1v1 an Akizuki any day, and he can out-spot a Venezia for the Mecklenburg and Colbert to gun down. I think the Gearing, far from being a muppet trying to throw, was actually the HERO of the match for his team.

I'm not sure how it works for youtube sponsorships, but generally ad clicks are primarily linked to conversations, in this case it would be downloading and installing. If advertising through google, the clicks are costing you money and low conversion means you'll stop paying. While with youtube the clicks are free and I assume they pay a set base amount regardless of clicks or conversion. If they just get clicks they might not sponsor or advertise with them again, or at least offer reduced compensation. That why they usually ask you to use some code and you'll get a free "ship/character/in game currency" on installation, it tracks conversion. I'm on linux, loads of youtube sponsorships just aren't relevant to me. I install software through the repositories, I can't remember the last time I downloaded an application off a website. Almost messed up my routine there jingles, you usually post before I wake up and drive an hour to work. Good to see the video pop up while I’m on my way. :)
The only time I've had the game turn into a slide show it was because the servers were screwed up. And I know this because everyone in the game was complaining about the slideshow problem. But in fairness, it has only happened to me once or twice in over a year of playing the game.
Just as an aside, they were going to win whether the Mecklenberg died or not. They only needed one tick from the cap to win the game and if the Venezia goes into the cap it will half the remaining time, they would of had about 10secs to a get a tick from the cap.
This is true, and I only noticed it when I was talking about this match with a friend of mine. To be fair, in the heat of the fight and the scramble to get a win, I didn’t notice at the time of the replay.
It's always really funny when "bad concealment" is given as a downside for a ship, I distinctly remember when I started playing this game and decided to try soviet battleships a try and I found one of the earlier tier soviet battleships where the spotting range was larger than the gun range. Like what kind of game design is it to have a new player vehicle where you always give enemy ships the drop on you, they spot for themselves, and can fire at you with complete safety.
Hello Jingles. Hello Birthday Girl Rita. Hello fabulously regal Feline Mistresses. Getting my day started with a Jingles video is part of my morning ritual, along with a 4000 year old Egyptian prayer thanking the sun for the energy. Speaking of the sun, congratulations to Rita for another successful trip around it. Since no woman is ever older than 29, no matter how many birthdays they've had, happy 29th. Excellent teamwork on display here and it could have easily gone the other way. Akizuki (the DD) brought their "A" game. Akizuki (the Feline) had some great points to her commentary. She also has some great points at the end of her toe beans and teeth. Scritches and treats for both of your kitties please. Regarding the adverts, if I'm not interested in the product or service being offered, I can always fast forward through it. No need for me go troll mode. You keep doing you Jingles, we Salt Miners are happy to have your back. 🐈🐈⬛👑✌️🖖
If Jingles wants us to Argue about who was at fault for the win/loss I don't think anyone can be blamed, sure the Gearing was blind firing, but to kill a F. Sherman meant even if he dies, an equally dangerous foe would be dead, and for his predicament, it was the best thing he could do while going down, drag another with you The Colbert and Mecklenburg were no slouches either, both understood the danger of what their situation is, but really Colbert probably caused it to be too close by continuing to fire at the smoked up Akizuki, and giving broadside to the Venezia, though he could be justified that he was at a horrible position. In line of fire and unable to fire back, he attempted to kill the Akizuki, which, in his defense, was also precariously low, but I think he forgot to calculate the Venezia, and he should not have fired and rushed the Akizuki, not fire then rush But none of that would matter if that Mecklenburg hadn't been unlucky enough to be spotted at ~13.6km Really what killed the enemy team was bad luck of the Mecklenburg, out of position to support the Colbert, and too close to go undetected
My 2 cents: both teams did well, no real fault. Just somebody wins and somebody looses. Was nice to see Akizuki keeping a cool head and actually do the DD spot in cooperation with Venezia. A refreshing sight while nowadays most games end up in a spawn pew-pew sit-krieg with 0 attempt to take map control.
During the sponsor time, there was something bugging me. Not that there was a sponsor time (listening to every word is currently the only way for me to "sponsor" Jingles), nor was it the choice of sponsor (since I don't have a computer that would allow me to open Windows Calculator at the same time as any other game, without it seemingly brick)... no, it was some... thing... else... and then I figured it out. In my little imaginary world, the music that was playing during the sponsor time, is very much at odds with whom I imagine Jingles to be. :-)
22:40 Trigonometry? Oh Jingles... this is GEOMETRY. A2 + B2 = C2, your friend Pythagoras coming in clutch. 15.8 to Meck and 4.5 to Aki... square both so 249.64 and 20.25. Subtract A from C (because he's farther away from Meck than Aki which makes his line to Meck 'C') to get 229.39, and then we just square root to get 15.145 so ~15.2kms from Akizuki to Mecklenburg. This also means he likely isn't running concealment expert or a concealment module. Feel free to Simpsons nerd .gif me, I'll be back in the salt mines if I'm needed again.
I Don't think the result was anyone players fault, it looked like WOWS at it's best; two teams with decent players on both sides in a to-and-fro battle that comes down to the wire. The Colbert and Meck play well, as do the Akizuki and Venezia. The friendly radar Mino does a good job as well; the radar at the start and the defence of the A cap was well played. This is how this game *should* be and is a reminder of why we still endure WeeGee's dumb-ass-ness.
If the North Carolina had taken the cap earlier they would have lost long before it came down to the last 20 seconds. It would have changed the dynamics of the battle. The NC screwed the pooch.

For the trig question, it would be possible to calculate, however we need at least 1 angle. So it's like, impossible to solve.
Edit: Reading a comment said that the mecklenburgs base detection with all the conceal upgrades is 13.9km, so using that paired with how far Connor is to the mecklenburn and akizuki, I was able to figure out everything you'd probably not care about knowing.

Using the cosine law for angles, I calculated that the angle between Connor and the Akizuki and Mecklenburg was approximately 57degrees, the angle from the Akizuki to Connor and Mecklenburg to 107degrees, and the last angle which is from Mecklenburg to Connor and Akizuki as 16degrees.
Now I can say I could've just put the letters corresponding to the ships, however I want to make it easier for the average youtube comment reader to understand!
Have a nice day unless you care to read this entire essay I pretty much wrote lol,
enjoy this useless information
Cosine law = CosA = b^2+c^2-a^2/2bc, CosB = a^2+c^2-b^2/2ac, CosC = a^2+b^2-c^2/2ab
Also Cosine Law can work the other way for solving a side;
for side "a":
a^2 = b^2+c^2 - 2bc(CosA)
for side "b":
b^2 = a^2+c^2-2ac(CosB)
for side "c":
c^2 = a^2+c^2-2ac(CosC)
The reasoning behind why you can't solve this without an angle or the 3rd side is because there are only like 4 formulas you can use to solve for a side of an unknown triangle that isn't a right angle triangle (right angle meaning it has one 90degree angle), Sinlaw which states, to solve for an unknown side: a/SinA = b/SinB = c/SinC (Sins meaning angle) (you only need any two(2) of these, for example a/SinA = c/SinC will work only if you have "SinA" "c" and "SinC", since you are solving for "a", it also works the other way around to solve for angles; SinA/a = SinB/b = SinC/c, Same rules apply, you only need two(2) of these to solve for it, and it's whichever one you have the information(numbers) for.

I looove Ur sense of humor! :D
Great teamwork!
very well played right to the end
Haven't played in ages since my poor old PC can't cope with the eye candy. Still tuning in to watch these though.
@mightyJingles, Glad to see you're getting some good sponsorships. I know you're going to need them for a while. Our prayers are with you.
Hey Jingles, you might not be able to see this comment, but I'd like to say thank you for using my picture as the thumbnail for this video, I took that photo back in 2019 and I didn't think it would be used for this video.
Cheers!
A note on the conversation in chat around 18:20. As a fan of Arpeggio of Blue Steel, I've got a commander ready if the I-400 class subs make an appearance in game.
22:26 I did some basic trigonometry, the distance from the Akizuki to the Mecklenburg is approx. 11.3km.
Jingles, hand over my nerd points, I expect no less than 53 of them.
(triangle inequality theorem, for the -5 of you that care)
I had already downloaded oprea gx and haddn't really given a fair try. Thanks Jingles I will give you the credit. Best of wishes I have been a fan for many years and I am actually older than you and have very similar medical wise. all my Prayers are with you.
Eyyyy I'm here! Cheers old man!
What a nailbiter! Well done to both of the survivors!
Better being uptiered in world of warships than in world of tanks
Good morning Jingles from the east coast of the USA
I love Akazuki´s comment´s on Jingles YT´s. Give him a treat from me Jingles.
Wow. 26 seconds from release. My all time best
Damn, I got there after three secs on the encounter vid by maltese
DD did some heavy lifting in this game.
finally unlocked the venezia myself. Cant wait to see how it plays
Almost messed up my routine there jingles, you usually post before I wake up and drive an hour to work. Good to see the video pop up while I’m on my way. :)
You watch TH-cam while you’re driving!?
Distracted driving much? For Jingles you get a pass LOL.
thanks Jingles
The Mecklenburg at the end was about 15,15km away from the Akizuki (just simple Pythagoras for you.)
Youre being a bit mean to the gearing, he actually killed the Sherman and wasn't as you suggested just blindly firing at Mecklenburg
Another great battle
Morning, Jingles!
Glorious
What a great match.
Akizuki the cat is now sad kitty
Marvelous Entertainment!!!!
Thanks as usual from that place wot you sent them scofflaws to a while back 🙃
Hello Jingles.
🐈🐈⬛👑✌️🖖
the minotaur was escorting the spanish inquisition
Jingles, there's no smokescreen
Jingles? Jin...
Impressive typing speed Conner
Good evening Gnome Overlord. All the best
That moment when you realize the red NC in this is your clanmate
I blame the Jingles Effect...
Yes!! Bring on the adds!
Thank you Jingles for bringing us the game. Praying to the Lord Jesus Christ for you. 🙏
Nice shoot.
What a game!
If Jingles wants us to Argue about who was at fault for the win/loss
I don't think anyone can be blamed, sure the Gearing was blind firing, but to kill a F. Sherman meant even if he dies, an equally dangerous foe would be dead, and for his predicament, it was the best thing he could do while going down, drag another with you
The Colbert and Mecklenburg were no slouches either, both understood the danger of what their situation is, but really Colbert probably caused it to be too close by continuing to fire at the smoked up Akizuki, and giving broadside to the Venezia, though he could be justified that he was at a horrible position. In line of fire and unable to fire back, he attempted to kill the Akizuki, which, in his defense, was also precariously low, but I think he forgot to calculate the Venezia, and he should not have fired and rushed the Akizuki, not fire then rush
But none of that would matter if that Mecklenburg hadn't been unlucky enough to be spotted at ~13.6km
Really what killed the enemy team was bad luck of the Mecklenburg, out of position to support the Colbert, and too close to go undetected
My 2 cents: both teams did well, no real fault. Just somebody wins and somebody looses. Was nice to see Akizuki keeping a cool head and actually do the DD spot in cooperation with Venezia. A refreshing sight while nowadays most games end up in a spawn pew-pew sit-krieg with 0 attempt to take map control.
mmm Jingles
During the sponsor time, there was something bugging me.
Not that there was a sponsor time (listening to every word is currently the only way for me to "sponsor" Jingles), nor
was it the choice of sponsor (since I don't have a computer that would allow me to open Windows Calculator at the
same time as any other game, without it seemingly brick)... no, it was some... thing... else... and then I figured it out.
In my little imaginary world, the music that was playing during the sponsor time, is very much at odds with whom
I imagine Jingles to be. :-)
I measured the pixels on the minimap, the Mecklenburg was about 12.7 km away.
Jingles still uses the 6 year old intro bruh, live with it ig
If the NC flipped the cap earlier, they might not have felt the need to defend B quite so hard, tough to say.
👍👍
This video is proof that talking to your teammates is OP. Wargaming need to nerf constrictive chat!
If the North Carolina had taken the cap earlier they would have lost long before it came down to the last 20 seconds. It would have changed the dynamics of the battle. The NC screwed the pooch.
I think the Jinan got the cits.
If I had to be in an uptier in a battleship, the NC isn't a bad way to do it. Superheavy AP is good for bullying other BBs from across the map.
I love me a North Caro Liner
connor?
I"m 7 mins in and this feels like Flamu gameplay.
Haha, honestly with how much information Flamu (and a fair few other WoWS YTers, Jingles included with the replay posts) has given me over the years, I will gladly take that as a compliment.
