yes, it takes time to learn aiming for citadels. His first volley would have destroyed that Duguay. I've had a 4 citadel hit from that range, insta delete.

Friendly piece of advice to Furataka player, the credits camo and premium damage con costs will be earned back by the extra time being alive they will get you. You also need to lower your aim for broadsiding cruisers to the water line. You have good aim for BB upper belts but it's only when rng steps in with your dispersion that you'll hit cruiser citadels aiming that high. And lastly, don't be afraid of switching ammo types. The 8" HE dose decent damage on angled BB's and fire chance is really good. Still well played. A lot of luck to survive that but everyone needs luck most of the time in this game 🙂

@@Neptunyu He is 8 years younger than I am though admittedly as my son says he LOOKS 10 years older and behaves it too. I still play metal music like Led Zeppelin and Slayer, train Tai kwon DO, don't drink or party hard (never did see the fun in the 'Rock n' Roll' suicide lifestyle; love the music though and playing it) so that might explain it plus he did many years in the RN all over the world with diseases etc while I only did 5 in the RAF, a much cushier easy life on Fulton Airbase near Bristol, so that might explain it. But Jingles loves his fatty foods too much and is getting lazy too. Still love the guy, he is one of a kind, he get's by on charm, lucky bastard, just ask Rita!

*Actually* Jingles, the 48 mm deck armor of the Furry, her 25mm casemates and her 76mm belt means that she can tank 14'' shells all day long if angled, as long as they don't hit the (relatively minuscule) 13mm bow plating. Even if a shell hits the bow plating and overmatches, the absurdly thick 103mm athwartship bulkhead on the citadel means that the shell will score a pen, not a citadel.
If angled, the Furry can tank Kongos, Fusos and Arizonas _juuuuuuuust_ fine. Admittedly not 15'' or 16'' ships like the Warspite, Mutsu etc. though.
@The Infidel Not 'everyone and his grandma'. Everyone with a 15''+ rifle. That does not exist in T4 or T5, is very rare in T6 and only becomes commonplace in T7 (but if you're bottom tier in a T7 game, you can expect to be spanked no matter what ship you're driving, except perhaps the Kamikaze).
If you get citadelled by an equal-tier battleship in the Furutaka, you have given too much broadside and have potatoed hard. This is not a 'ridicolous (sic) claim', that's pure maths and game mechanics.
As for burning her down, she's as susceptible to that as any other T5 ship, but she has a larger health pool and *significantly* more accurate guns than any other cruiser in her tier, so you're in for a bad day if her captain is any good at shooting.
103 mm athwartship is nothing for a BB shell, pretty much from any distance. At 10 km all T5 BB's can penetrate well more than double of that. The thing is that the 13 mm part of Furry taco bow is really small, so hitting it and the athwartship after that is not really easy and can be done only from a pretty small sector.
He's not getting citadels because arcaeva constantly aims too high lol...
Well, 203mm is bound to overpen French CLs.
and the french cruisers got no armor...so shells dont arm

To anyone who is curious about the camo that the Myoko had in the Atlanta replay, it is actually the Arp Haguro, a special version of the Myoko one could get by playing an event back in February 2017 IIRC in collaboration with Arpeggio of Blue Steel (I got all of the ARP ships, and I am glad I did, though I am pissed off AF with the nerfs done to the Kongo ships).
@LegionCenturionMaster They've shortened the range on her guns, and it is a lot harder to hit anything at any range, from personal experience.

@@molochz I said from ANY range. Max range, 10 km, 8 km. I had multiple occasions where I had fired a salvo aimed perfectly at where the citadels of cruisers were, at 8 km and 10 km, only to have the shots go long and short, going no where near the citadel, whereas before the nerf, I would have scored at least one citadel. My average dmg before the nerfs in my Kongos was 90k dmg, regardless of the tier I was in. After the nerfs, it was 30 k, despite aiming with the exact same precision as I did before the nerfs. Hell, there was one time where I fired a salvo at an Omaha at 6 km, and I saw two shots that flew half the length of the Omaha away from each other. 6 km. Also, ever had the experience where you had a New York firing at you, yet you couldn't fire back? Quite annoying it is.

Gutsy move by the Furutaka. You could see him checking his torpedo arcs going in, but it takes a lot of coolness under fire to pull that off. Well done, orcaeva. (I would have thought about it way too late.) (The second game has an excellent demonstration of how not to do a yolo torpedo charge when the Minsk tries to do the same thing with only one target and misses the Colorado completely.
Spinosaurus12, playing Atlanta Island on the Trident map. Nothing new here, but he plays a very common strategy with unusual skill. Also well done. Probably should change his name to "Velociraptor12". (If that is taken, maybe go for "Velociraptor14" although we all know that "unlucky" numbers are a myth. Don't we?) Spinosaurus was a pretty fierce dinosaur, bigger than the T-Rex, but probably not agile enough to captain an Atlanta.
during beta i remember i ran into an even juicier situation than that taka. same map - charged up one side in a nicholas (i think - whichever US dd has two torp launchers per side), round the corner, and half the enemy fleet are on top of me in two neat rows. snap decision; i could turn and run and likely take a beating or die, or charge up the middle. most of their guns are pointing away from me cuz no one expects an nme dd to shove one down their throats right at the beginning of the game. also this is tier 5 so everyone's pretty clueless. so go down the middle of their fleet, dump torps off both sides like my life depends on it (cuz it does), land a dozen torps, sink two or three of them, AND SURVIVE. died eventually, but man that was glorious. i'm an aggressive player anyway, so when i saw them in two neat rows i swear i heard a heavenly choir sing to me of untold glory. wish the game had replays back then. never seen anything like it since until now.

That's funny, because I remember my time in the U.S. Navy inboard the aging, and now decommissioned, USS JFK. We painted that carrier inners so much with deck gray mil-spec paint to cover rust spots, that we joked, "enemies wouldn't need to blow up our ship with missiles or artillery, they would only need a few gallons of paint thinner to destroy this ship." The JFK was a 35 year old ship when I was on her. Hels together by a lot of work.
That Furutaka replay reminds me of a similar game in my Graf Spee, in the same spot, but with 4 cruisers: an Aoba, a tier 6 Cleveland, a Myoko, and a Furutaka IIRC. I killed all of them in an epic gunnery and torpedo duel, only to be denied the Kraken by an enemy Cleveland, because I was on about 3k hp.
Well played to the Furutaka captain. Wise? Probably not. But it was the most refined way to get the job done.
Who wants center line mounted torpedoes when you can have the same number of torpedoes... on each side!
And if Kantai Collection or Azur Lane ever do a colaboration with World of Warships (instead of the other way around, there are Kancolle and AL things in WoWS already of course), one of the characters would have to be an island. So that one could indeed make the island one's waifu.
Furutaka can get away with it because its torps can be fired forward and not only rearwards like the Aoba's... He'd been dead in the Aoba/Myoko/Mogami and Ibuki trying this move. In Zao he could have died or not. The only other IJN Heavy cruiser able to get away with it would be the Atago.
What about that one crazy British idea to make a carrier out of an iceberg?

Jingles, the first match you showed with the Furutaka was amazing. The second was just an island hugging HE spamfest that I didn't even bother to finish watching.
Ohhhh... I got that "Sailing between two enemy ships with torpedoes because that'st he best option" feeling ONCE in a tier three destroyer. I won the match with it, and it was GLORIOUS!
I also got six kills and the most fun I'll get out of the game in that match.
Gotta love it when you sink enemies on either side with torpedoes. I've done it on a handful of occasions but I haven't played low tier ships with decent launchers on either side for a while and I'm certainly not ballsy enough to try in a British cruiser.
I do love getting a full secondary build ship nestled between targets and have every single gun on the ship firing, reminds me of playing Battlefleet Gothic where the primary objective was to break two grand cruisers through the enemy van and throw an obscene amount of fire in all directions. They wouldn't last long, but neither would the enemy van and a decent chunk of the centre.

I sent a replay once with Campbeltown doing the torpedo thing between two battleships... I suggest we call it the Pegasus Maneuver with reference to the 1970s Battlestar Galatica episode where the Pegasus does the same move with to Cylon base stars! It's epic!

The Furutaka was a one off, he got incredibly lucky.
A good demonstration of which incredible tactical advantages the Atlanta possesses, invincifiring with very potent guns, Radar, very strong AA. You can basically try to take them out on their way to the island or pincer them, that's about it.
I remember back in the day playing the Atlanta in my 200k game. Several battleships sailing in a straight line and ripple firing the guns for something like 8 minutes straight of constant hits. They don't seem to register that each 140 damage every half second adds up very very quickly.

It's a risky build, since you give over 2 km of distance between radar and being spotted, but absolutely shredded planes in pre 0.8

Well, that first battle in the Furious Taco showed that even poor players can get lucky. Incredibly lucky, given his notably atrocious aim the entire time. Aimed at the sides of angled BBs with AP guaranteeing a bounce, never aimed a single shot at broadsiding tier 4 cruisers at the waterline, got excited and aimed behind the Miyogi like it was suddenly going to spring into reverse, and of course, never managed to find the control to switch ammo types no matter what he faced or at what angle. In other words, a noob HE spammer that had accidentally switched to AP at some point and never noticed. :P
Sorry, Jingles. I too want HMS Exeter at T6, and I asked the WG balancing guy about that on a live stream. He replied that Exeter’s armour and characteristics just don’t fit at T6 and there are no plans to change that.

Jingles, Furutaka can bounce all shells up to 356mm with its belt and all battleship shells that hit its deck, except a very long range deck shot.

Hello Jingles! I've always been a fan of you showcasing other games besides WoT, World of Warships, and similar titles. I wanted to inform you of a game I think you'd really like. Are you familiar with the Ace Combat series? It's a great line of games with incredible story telling, action, and enough top secret weaponry to destroy Earth several times over! Unfortunenately, most of them only saw the light of consoles...Until Ace Combat 7! It was released on PC on Feb. 1st. It's got the same incredible story telling, outlandish superweapon boss fights, and amazing selection of weapons. Also, it's a very arcady title that's so easy even you could play it ;). And yes, I really sincerely mean you could play it. It's incredibly intuitive and simple. It focuses more on simple, fun action rathar than the technical aspects of flight depicted in most simulators. If you get the chance, please give it a go! If you can't do that, at least take the time to look it up on Steam, it's definately worth the effort! If you see and read this email, thank you in advance!

At this point I think Jingles gets shit wrong so you guys can point it out.
The error IMO was turning left at the first island, not the second. If he had turned right he could have dropped spotting and made his decision then. He should have used an aim slightly below the waterline if he was overpenning.
This video title gave me an idea for a video you could do Jingles. Just a compilation or a couple of battles on INSANELY lucky players

My very last battle in the furutakao was exactly that situation - except there were 11 dead on my team and 10 dead on the other team. Pulled off the double strike and a win, then unlocked the Aoba.
That Furious taco driver obviously wasn't aware that his keyboard has a "1" key because why else would be be firing 8" AP at angled battleships?

I'm in Texas but not really interested in the 4-5 hours just to get there, never mind the same going home. You probably shouldn't just show up without checking the Drive Tanks' policy on spectators, fans, or friends on the property who isn't specifically also a customer. I AM in easy proximity to the Johnson Space Center and Battleship Texas if Jingles ever gets to this side of Texas.
They dont say anything about just spectators so I do believe it's only for customers, but If jingles ends up visiting another museum or the battleship Texas then hopefully he let's us know
Was planning to send a replay of getting 6 kills, and high caliber with the yamato but realised that I was quite rude to my teammates that were trying to hard to throw the game by camping in one corner of the map after they failed to take my suggestions to help win the game, so I didnt bother sending the replay. :p
P.s. I hope the improved economy in the upcoming patch fixes this issue of camping.
Sometimes a fair fight means that you planned well while sailing into a trap. Why? Thats where the enemy is waiting so often times you are wasting time looking for them elsewhere.
This island is my best friend whenever I play the Atlanta, too. Have had tremendous results taking cover behind it. So easy to burn down BB's from there without even being spotted.
In regards to the Furutaka... Well, that's the stuff you can do with it which you can't do with any other ship at that tier. It's situationally overpowered. I wouldn't have engaged at that moment, though. You won't succeed doing that if only one of those two battleships captains knows what he is doing.
About not citadelling the Duguay-Trouin - well, that wasn't bad luck. That's just how it is with french cruisers. They have no armour at all. You can overpenetrate them all day long. A few weeks ago, I had a perfectly broadsiding Emile Bertin at close range while firing AP with my Fushun, and I got nothing but overpens.

I usually sail In an Emerald so no matter how many other juicy targets broadside, i´m the one who suddenly has the counter go up to 6.... Did i say it´s an emerald.
That´s the reason i´ve lately gone for CV´s, but then there´s the issue of people not shooting at anything i spot, cause there´s and Enemy Emerald further ahead.... What´s it with People and Emeralds?
2 possible reasons: the think f*ck those british cruisers with their smokescreens and near endless salvos of always damaging ap......... or 2nd: they think they can kill it fast because it has no armor and then the enemy team has 1 ship less

I’m gonna be honest. That Furutaka SO deserved to die. He got lucky as hell. He didn’t know how to aim for citadels, spammed AP at angled BBs, and sailed right between two of them. He was just blessed by the enemy ships being worse than he was
Furutaka also possesses The most powerful torpedoes at tier 5, better than what the minekaze has to offer and on par with the mutsuki
Jingles have you considered using your TV as a monitor for your PC? Because I think it would make your editing a lot easier, I know you have to look through a tiny window at the battle as you add your commentary which makes it easy to make mistakes, so use a bigger screen :P
