    I see a lot of negative comments. How many of you are experienced fighters? What he's doing is proper teaching. He is slowly progressing into the techniques but first making sure the student fully understands what, how, why, when, etc. Any teacher who just throws you into the fire is essentially letting you teach yourself. You will get injured in the process of learning what works and what doesn't. i know. I learned boxing this way and after enough headaches, i sought out good teachers who showed me what to do, when and especially WHEN AND WHY to do it that way. You must first learn to control your mind and your ego before you train the body. Everyone wants to do it backwards in our society so that they can learn to hurt people and still walk around with a shitty mentality and an oversized ego. Those people often quit when things get tough. Unfortunately, i have suffered some fairly serious injuries by learning "on the job training". I did not come here to brag, i came here to learn something new.

      Well said. If a knife had a good conscience would it ever harm. If it had no guidance would it cut. Yet with proper guidance much may be achieved.

    The folks complaining about your explanation instead of a lot of action in this clip, reveal a short attention span, and a lack of understanding about the art of teaching. Some of us get it and appreciate the cogent information from you to help us understand the underlying principles to better duplicate the techniques. Thanks for the great videos!

    I am a student at UTD who is a part of a jujitsu club on campus. For the past few days, we've been practicing wrist takedowns. However, I've had a difficult time picking up on the torque + pressure concept. This video masterfully demonstrated these concepts. Thank you for posting this video. I appreciate how the technical instructions were very presented in a very helpful and insightful manner.

    What all the people writing negative comments don’t understand, is that Sifu Phu is trying to cover all the bases. There are many people who don’t know the correct technique. ALSO this is only a small clip of all the info you can obtain from the Enter Shaolin site. Guys, just get LITE or JUNIOR. It’s totally worth it. I’m sure all of you who come with an open mind and aren’t being hard headed will love Sifu, and all the knowledge he has for us

      hans dampf I think the correct way to look at is you are only limited by your imagination. The rule we follow is obey the energy.

    • @AMPFEAST
      @AMPFEAST 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh no :-( a mystical answer... so you have no fixed set of techniques at all?

    • @entertaichi
      @entertaichi  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hans dampf I wasn't trying to mystical in anyway.. I think you mis understand what I am saying. To quote Bruce Lee: "All fixed set patterns are incapable of adaptability or pliability. The truth is outside of all fixed patterns."
      My answer to your question wasn't trying to mystical, our first and only rule in what we do is "Obey The Energy" by following that rule everything else falls into place. As far as practicing techniques is concerned we have an entire website dedicated to teaching techniques. Btw, this is Larry the guy in black.

    Must be nice for all of you who have such an innate knowledge of physiology that you don't need , or want, to learn why something works. Knowing what he is talking about (too much talking, according to you), may give you an edge. Fights are not just a series of moves and counter moves. You want that, then learn Tai Chi. Instead of whining about this, please explain why he is wrong ("He talks too much" doesn't cut it).

    In India 1 person dont attack or beat any 1. There is always a gang or a mob of atleast 30-50 ppl alltogether. So you are a master may be u can save yourself from such a big gang but how about a common person who is just a beginner. He will just die instantly even if 10 ppl groped him together and beat him to death and if they are armed with iron rods and all. The only thing that can save a common person is a gun not your marshal arts tricks. I dont mean to offend you and I am really sorry if you feel bad but thats how this works in real life. You are a true master teaching all the tricks on how to defend but in real world ppl dont attack on 1-1 basis now a days. They all attack like cowards in groups and all so a person will die.

  • @johnking2631
    @johnking2631 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    ...wrist lock are only good vs inexperienced people...specifically street fights to avoid actually fist fighting and subdue someone...if you fight someone who has experience...you're going to get pummeled trying to put them in a wrist lock or get your face bashed in....wrist lock typically requires two hands to properly lock someone...you'll more than likely get punched in the face doing so or ribs......a couple times...no good...same reason you don't see this in MMA...risk outweighs the reward.

    • @kramconley7972
      @kramconley7972 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +John King he ain't talking about sparring with black belts; a black belt isn't going to mug you or confront you in the street, at a bar etc, think before you write; their mighty useful in the bouncers job; and a 'black belt' ain't going to punch anyone in the face, soooooooo many better alternatives

    • @johnking2631
      @johnking2631 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kram Conley who said anything about a black belt...my whole basis was that it won't work vs an EXPERIENCED fighter or it isn't worth the risk...doesn't need to be pro or not...but someone whose fought often it would be difficult and not worth it...anyone can say what they want about it...it's not worth it vs someone whose experienced other techniques are better and don't put you in a vulnerable position.

    • @kramconley7972
      @kramconley7972 8 ปีที่แล้ว
