And Jimmy kicked his bass into an overdriven sound to beef it up, and we can hear Claude coming in a little louder as well. That's a shit situation for all involved, phew. Dio gave Viv a solo at the end to punch the guitar back into the mix, and with the added intent on checking that the guitar was good to go.
simply amazing live version of this song. RJD vocals were virtually flawless I was lucky enough to see Dio on the Magica tour in 2000. RJD has been a source if encouragement in very difficult times. he is missed

Viv's amp is having some technical problems starting at 1:04 , and his guitar cuts off, so we don't see him for a good part of the song. Dio makes a gesture towards the amps(likely flipping the bird) at 1:56. This is probably not the first time this sort of failure has happened. They seem to get it fixed at about 2:49, which is after the solo part of the song has already ended. Of course, Dio being the pro that he is, still continues on during this and adds more vocals than he normally would to make the solo part more interesting in the absence of Viv's guitar. Once Viv comes back, Dio says to him, "Play, my son" at 3:12, giving Viv the chance to make up the missed solo with a quick improv.
