He was about 63 here. Four years later he did his last performance, less than a year before his death. He refused to stop. A fuckin' showman and a singer for the ages. We miss you Dio.

No, not Dio, and over the years have met quite a few others including all the members of the Eagles, and even Sean Mendez, lol (that was for my daughter's sake).
I Dee Jayed his nieces wedding at the VFW / American Legion Hall on rt 13 he was a good man gave his niece away and was just one of the crowd. For a surprise I dug out a track from his ELF days and played Hoochie Coochie Lady for him and his wife, they were so surprised to know their DJ (me) saw them at the stone jug in Hamilton, NY in 1971 and he hadn't changed a bit just a regular guy. I'll never forget what a big heart beat in his small frame but to me he was a giant talent that was taken too soon.....May he find a place in Rock "n" Roll Heaven, Godspeed....The N.Y. I come back to this every once in a while when I need a pick-up. For me, Dio will forever be the God of Metal. Just an overall nice guy who lived and breathed Rock. So thankful that I had a chance to meet him once.
True genius is as kind as Ronnie was to that drunken lout of a fan lol. Gently steers him away to security, makes a joke about it to a bandmate, and restarts the intro with minimal explanation - because everyone understands. He goes back to sing with the fans, and it's no big deal, except it is? What. A. Fucking. Legend. We will not see his like again...makes my skin shiver and my eyes leak.
