Here's a fun fact... Every Band-Maid song that you are currently listening to, is your favorite Band-Maid song. Until the next one, and then the one after that. It never ends!
At the time of this video Miku couldn't play the guitar as yet and just 'mimed' the act. Under the tutelage of Kanami she's learnt and has become the best rockin' Pidgeon she is! Glad you're enjoying the Band Maid journey, these ladies rock and don't have a bad song in their catalogue
My friends, if you plan to do a Band-Maid Friday once a week, their backlog alone gives you over two years of content. As mentioned before, this was a lock-down gift for their fans, performing in front of a gang of camera operators. They nudge the energy up noticeably when fueled by Madiacs being present.
Quite simply, the best rock band on the planet. I’ve been around since Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Rush … and these wonderful ladies of Band Maid are the most versatile, talented and entertaining of them all. When I say best rock band on the planet … I mean best rock band EVER.
Yes, this song saved the band from getting disbanded by the management, and gotten world wide recognition/attention😊 The live version was from online concert during the COVID days. They do better when performing live, and usually add extra intro/breakdowns.
This was their Make or Break song. Their label was considering disbanding the Ladies until this video went viral thanks to the J Rock Radio Favebook page posting this video on their page. It got over a million views in a few weeks. The Ladies TH-cam channel and Twitter accounts got so many hits they thought their Twitter account had been hacked. It took until their next album when their label finally accepted a song written and arranged totally by the Ladies 'Alone' that they were allowed much more control over their music.
Enjoyed the Double feature. I'm a big fan of these ladies. But for more all female Japanese Hard Rock/Heavy Metal, check out two of my other favorites: Lovebites and Nemophila.
Thanks for the double reaction. The second version was a Covid era streamed studio performance with no live audience. They performed Thrill at their 10th anniversary concert last year at Yokahama Arena, and they really slayed it, during a 33 song setlist over 3 and a half hours! btw, if you want to fall irretrievably down the J-rock rabbit hole, you should also check out Lovebites. Start with any of the newer live releases on their channel (Hammer of Wrath is a goodie), and they are reactor friendly. You'll also meet an entirely new devoted fanbase! Cheers from Australia.
Some of the songs they play live have a prerecorded backing track (played by Kanami on keyboard) so they maintain consistency in their playing to stay in sync with that. That's not to say that they don't sometimes add a longer intro or solos in the concerts. The "Freedom" official live has a wicked drum solo and "Hate?" from Lollapalooza has a guitar-bass duel added.
First of all Coach, never apologize for giving your die-hard subs a doubleheader video reaction, there's no reason to. When it comes to music in general, and Band Maid in particular, more is always better. I hadn't realized you had only done one of their songs prior to this. As far as the sound goes, being someone who's seen them live three times, they sound live exactly like the videos. And to see their musicianship live and up close it's just amazing. Two of the shows I was right at the stage in front of Kanami, the lead guitarist, and the other one I was right in front of Misa, the bassist. Those three shows were the most fun I have had since I saw Blood, Sweat & Tears and The Young Rascals in NYC in 1967 and The Doors at the Whiskey A Go Go in LA in 1968. As far as Saiki's voice is concerned, she did have some issues at the beginning with straining her voice, but she had some polyps removed and has become one of the best rock vocalists out there today. When I listen to her sing, she brings Susanna Hoffs to mind as well as Pat Benatar and her stage presence and charisma is outstanding. She and Miku are perfect complements in their harmonies and Miku does have some solos herself. If you really want to see their musicianship, react to the live official videos of "Onset" and "Freedom" and the music video for "From Now On". "Onset" and "From Now On" are instrumentals and "Freedom" has one of the best drum solos I've seen in a long time. And don't be afraid to do doubleheaders with some of their other songs, with both the MV and the live official versions. Some good ones would be "Dice", "Don't You Dare" and "Domination". I thoroughly enjoy you and your wife's reactions, keep up the good work.
@@CoachCastTV I kind of know what you like now, so I would suggest to you another excellent Japanese rock band, Glim Spanky. They are essentially a blues rock group with many retro touches of blues and rock from the 1960's here. Just to get a feel, check out "Circle Of Time" from their 2020 Live TH-cam Concert. The guitar riffs are just filthy with that static sound of older amps. And since I know you like vocalists, their vocalist Remi Matsuo is like a combination of Janis Joplin, Grace Slick and Susanna Hoffs.
You've barely scratched the surface of Band-Maid greatness. Soon you'll be looking at their music and merch for sale, and overseas concert announcements (none right at the moment). I hope to see you at a live Band-Maid show soon.🤘
This is the song that made me a fan! Oddly enough, I 1st heard this song on a random react video back in 2019 Wound up binging their entire channel that same day! absolutely ♥ these girls! I travelled to see them play live twice. They played for round 2 hours each show. Best 2 concerts I've ever been to! I suggest these Band Maid songs: Dice, Manners, Bubble, Blooming, No God (live) & Puzzle (live)
here a little fun fact coach the legendary Jimmy Page was doing a signing and greet in Tokyo after the event they asked him if he wanted to check out a couple of local bands he said sure and he got to see band maid live after the set he wanted meet the drummer and they told Akana that Jimmy Page wanted to meet her she thought she was being pranked until he walked through the door
The biggest difference between the two clips is that in the original clip Miku couldn't play the guitar and was just holding it for visual purposes but obviously has since learnt to play. I think this was a covid concert where you paid to watch them perform live online. They just did a huge show at Yokohama and played 33 songs with the whole show going for more than three and a half hours. During the concert they played some old footage of themselves including Miku not being able to play and Saiki played the piano in front of the audience for the very first time.
Yes! Wow! Every single one of them seemed to be at their peak. Lead singer, (and I agree about her voice) the backing vocalist (whom you mentioned as being the former lead vocalist - so generous to cede her spot to a more appropriate voice for the genre) the bass, drummer, and that guitarist with the red guitar... EPIC! Now, THAT was rock and roll! Sorry, The Warning. You've been knocked off the top of my all-female rock band top slot. Despite the French Maid outfits. Very impressed by the quality of the live performance. Honestly couldn't find a single flaw.
Coach and Mrs. Coach. It's good to see both of you back reacting to Band Maid. I'm 75 years old and have seen (A LOT) of rock bands in my life and Band Maid has reincarnated my love of rock with their music. They are incredibly talented, cohesive, and professional. I've made it a point to attend two of their live concerts this past year (Atlanta and Minneapolis) and I can honestly say their live concerts are even better than their videos. I hope both of you get a chance to see them live and you will probably be hooked and become a Maidiac like the rest of us. (Maidiac is what their die-hard fans call ourselves.) Now that you have reviewed "Domination" and "Thrill", you can go two routes to see what they are all about. You can go linear from their early songs or jump ahead to recent performances. One of their early songs "Choose Me" has been featured in a detective thriller "Kate" and is one of their favorite songs to perform. "Blooming" is another early banger that everyone loves. "Dice" is another one of their hits and should be viewed in a two-song clip from their one-hour performance at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago in August 2023. The live performance of "Dice" and Hate?" back-to-back is a must see, which has gone VIRAL on TH-cam.
No other band breaks new gate like Band-Maid! Thanks for the double reaction! They have a couple of other official double bills as, during the plague years, there was a payment or tax break available to artists who couldn't tour if they released 2 songs together. So they released a couple, including the MANNERS/BLACK HOLE one, which is one beautiful and complex and evocative song and then the 220BPM controlled chaos of BLACK HOLE. I'm going to take a guess and say that I think you would absolutely love them both...and, just like every time one of us Maidiacs (which includes you two now!) listens to Band-Maid, the song we are listening to becomes our favourite new song....until the next one! We've all done and keep on doing it. 4:30 - You're right, Coach, Miku was the founder of the band. There are a collection of 5 videos on a YT channel by Ohrenje and 4 of them are mini documentaries on each member with 2 on Miku. A very inspiring woman. PS - They don't block anything taken from their channel and rarely if taken from somewhere else. There's fan cams of them at concerts in the USA last year getting excited when they recognise reactors and they have had a few impromptu chats with them! Always egoless, sweet, kind and happy women. I think we can all see why I call them THE best Hard Rock band on Earth!
This combo of lead guitar, bass and drums: Kanami, Misa and Akane respectively, is one of my favorites. But if we talk only about Japan, I can think of equally or even more talented instrumentalists in bands like: Sokoninaru, Gacharic Spin, Nemophila, Bridear, Trident or East of Eden... just to mention a few that are mostly female. Of course the girls of Band-Maid are among the elite, but to say that they are the best would be disrespecting the talent of so many other bands.😉
Yeah, we don't try to add the "best" qualifier, but try to appreciate the uniqueness of each group. This particular band is absolutely fantastic from what we can see and we look forward to seeing more from them, and from others like you mention.
Band-Maid are the best in making the hard rock music I love. They manage to hit all the sweet spots, which no other band manages to do. They are also incredibly consistent in putting out songs that manages to climb up high in my list of favorite songs. In the end, music is subjective so one person's best band is not the same as someone else's. They are both right!
Try *"Manners"* for a more recent groovy bluesy rock song. I think Saiki has a similar tone as Ann Wilson ... a voice that is a little lower in pitch and huskier gives the perfect rock 'n roll attitude. You don't want "pretty." Although, she can certainly do that too, and *"About Us"* is a prime example of that (there's a live streaming version on their channel).
Band-Maid really has an allure. What a performance! It's the drum & bass for me. Sprinkled so amazingly with that rockin high cry. (be on my WAaaYYY!) So happy to see Coach finding such a happy place! Was this the birth of a new Maidiac?!
Thank you for your reaction. Thrill is an important song, I like it, though they have changed quite a bit since then. I prefer to listen to them by album but I leave a suggestion, the song Puzzle, latest official live. I also saw Blooming suggested, I second that, great MV, you can’t really go wrong. Have fun! :)
Seeing the Maids live and up close in a small, intimate club is a "Thrill" of a lifetime. One should consider themselves lucky to experience them like this because it's becoming rare. And as for sound... it'll be the best hard rockin' sound you can imagine -- clear, discreet, powerful and full of energy and joyful vibes! (And no compression!! ;-) Just ask anyone who's experienced them live. In fact, we've been getting an earful of "wow's" and "that was incredible" from all the reactors and commenters from their successful 2022 & 2023 Band-Maid USA Tours. Rock on, Mr. & Mrs. Coach!
"Thrill" is the song that turned so many of us into instant Maidiacs... they have so many other songs to choose from, but if you loved Thrill, then "Dice" will blow your mind - suggest another studio/live double header for that one
I am glad that you appreciated the musicianship of Band Maid. They are very skilled but they would never over perform. For them the integrity of the song is the most important thing. Their level of musicianship is incredible. Transitions and fills, that what are they. Id suggest Blooming, Daydreaming, my favourite Anemone and many more.
The MV that saved the band's recording contract. I really think you might like MANNERS a lot. It's a groove/rock song that I think might be right up your alley. Any Maidiac will tell you that live is really the way to go with Band Maid. Their MVs are all very good but live they're an unstoppable force. This was performed during COVID with no audience. Watch them with an audience.
On the subject of vocals, Miku, red flower, has a handful of songs as lead vocal. A really good way to go is the song Sayonakidori. There is an electric and an acoustic version. Doing both will also let you see their interpretive abilities, same song, different emotion. Saiki, lead vocal, has many songs that highlights her abilities. A good choice is Wonderland. Even more impressive is any of their acoustic songs.
Every member of this amazing band simply the best on their instruments: Kanami the best guitar player, Akane the best drummer, Miss the best bass player, Saiki the best voice around and Miky...she is engine of this band and by the way the cutest rock star in the world! All this makes Band Maid the best rock band in the world!!!!
Can't wait for you to get to their song Play live. This band is so talented. Saiki's voice is amazing but it got even better after her surgery. They did so many live performances early that she damaged her vocals and needed surgery but she came back stronger than before and sounds even better
I knew I was helplessly entrapped in the BAND-MAID universe after just the one song "Dice". Now I can't go even one day without a serving... I have been to three of their concerts even got a wink and a high five from Miku herself. Never washed my hand again... Ha ha ha...
Five Rock Goddesses that can musically kick butts like champion cage fighters but they are also grateful, humble and thankful to their fans unlike the usual arrogant BS we get from stale male western rockers. B-M is the best musical journey on the planet, you will not regret digging deeper into this amazing bands catalogue oh and be warned they will steal your hearts with their charisma, cheers from Oz 👍🍻
In the LIVE you can even notice Saiki-san push her vocals better. (She had polyps removal surgery in 2017.) And of course Miku-chan's vocals are more Pop Rock now instead of just Pop Idol timbre.
You are right, coach, Band Maid does not take a back seat to anyone! IMO the best rock band right now. Also on the short list of best ever, considering the depth and quality of their catalog. You’ll notice how the live version is thicker, more gritty, than the MV… that’s because the song was written for one guitarist, as Miku had only just started to learn playing when the song was released. Now she’s a great rhythm guitarist and has really filled out the sound of even older songs, like Thrill.
IMHO, THRILL will go down as one of the greatest rock songs of all time. Right along with any and all that have gone before. This is a perfect example of how to write and perform a classic rock song. I know that it wasn't written by the ladies, but their performance is perfect. Talent will out. OK. If you think that was crazy good you have to see their performance of the song HATE at last years Lallapalooza. Misa and Kanami do a call and response that is one for the ages. Please check it out.
This is still an excellent starting point for new listeners, even though I consider it to be one of their lesser songs. That's not to say it not great, it's a fantastic classic rock inspired song that's highly accessible to any rock fan who isn't turned off by the language barrier. Band-Maid's discography is just so strong that "Thrill" is overshadowed by what they've done in more recent years. It still gives a sense of nostalgia to long-time fans like myself, because this was my first Band-Maid song and video back in 2015. My recommendation for your next Band-Maid song is "Manners" which has both a music video and a live video (paired with the song "Black Hole"), both on their official channel. It's more complex than "Thrill" but still has a classic blues-based rock sound.
Their chops are so much better than this early work which was written for them. Their own material is just wonderful, since this. Recommend the LIVE version of Manners with Black Hole, Domination (live) and Freedom. My favorite lower key work of theirs is Daydreaming. If you want to see a great live concert (short 40 minute set) watch their cut at Lollapaloosa. They are almost always better live.
If you remember your Domination reaction video, there's a moment where Miku and Kanami are jamming out together which is basically the culmination of how Kanami taught Miku how to play. Definitely a nod to this early vid where Miku is miming playing the guitar.
Thanks for the 2fer! Band Maid is pretty incredible. Lots to choose from with incredible musicianship. As many have said, your fave song by them is the last one you listened to. Many have suggested ‘Manners and Black Hole’ live and I concur. Manners also has a mv. 2 others I would recommend are ‘Rinne’ and ‘Different’. . Both do some serious rocking and if you are into riffs…..beyond compare. Keep the reactions coming. Appreciate you both, and as always Mrs Coach is always right!
Great reaction and yes, this was the song that saved the band and was also the first music video. When Thrill was recorded, Saiki's (lead singer) voice was having troubles and she finally had throat surgery (removed polyps) in June 2017 and now her voice is stronger, her upper range improved and she's able to last for whole concerts without problems.
Nearly without fail, the best BAND-MAID song is the last one you've heard. Miku always envisioned dual vocals. They found Saiki at their agency. It was clear Saiki had the stronger voice, so Miku dropped back to the supporting role. Also, Kanami needed a Rhythm Guitarist, so rather than recruit a sixth member, Miku would learn to play. If you look closely at the time of this video, she still can't play. Had it not gone viral their label was going to drop them. But Miku is the hardest working member. She would do anything to realize her dream of a Maid Band. So not only did she have to learn to play and sing at the same time on the fly while in a working band, she is also the band's spokespigeon, and lyricist, po. Once thei own songs were good enough for the albums they each to a crack and writing lyrics, but Miku seemed to have the knack. He lyrics read like poetry, po. So while Kanami is churning out hit songs, Miku add the words to her music. And why does a pigeon say Po? It's be cause in Japan a pigeon doesn't Coo, it Karuppos, and Karuppo gets shortened to Po. She says it so much that even when she's on her own time it might slip out, and a cashier might give her a funny look.
So glad you reacted to Thrill ! Yes, many of the fans call themselves Maidiacs, however, the Maids actually refer their fans as Masters and Princesses :)
This live was an online pay-per-view performance without a crowd (during the so-call "Pandemic"). So, no live crowd interaction. That's why it seems a bit "MV-like." Note: there is always post-production work before release to their YT channel or DVD after the live shows. You will probably react to this song again when they release their new Bluray/DVD of their 10th Anniversary Final show at Yokohama Arena (2023) in March 2024 (anticipate some clips or MV coming out on YT soon). I was at the Yokohama show and the mix was superb, so it'll probably be outstanding on Bluray/DVD, Po! 🦍🍌
Thanks for the 2-fer! Band-Maid is awesome, they have progressed so far from this early song, but it is always fun to listen. The live version was from a COVID era online concert with no crowd, with the crowd present the take it up several notches. Check out more for sure, you won't be disappointed! Thanks for the reaction.
REO Speedwagon, Journey (with Steve Perry), and KISS are the only other artists I had seen in concert who outperformed their studio tracks. Until I saw Band Maid. I’m still going to recommend some music videos because they haven’t released official lives for everything. From an old blues rock cat from Detroit, I highly recommend any of the following for your specific tastes: “Choose Me,” official music video (the Maids’ third single) “The non-fiction days,” official music video. Early Maid rock “DICE,” (official music video is best so far) “Don’t you tell ME,” LIVE @ Zepp Tokyo 2018 “Real Existence,” Live, not the music video “Puzzle,” official live video from Tokyo Garden 2023 Enjoy the ride 🚀
Band-Maid is my all-time favorite band, if forced to pick just one. They played Thrill at the 10th Anniversary tour final show at Yokohama Arena and they rocked it even harder. You owe it to yourself to pre-order that Blu-ray; it will be released March 27. You have gotten lots of great suggestions for Band-Maid songs, and will get more for the amazing Nemophila and Lovebites and Hanabie. But there are so many others that are also worthy of seeking out when you get a chance, like Scandal, Gacharic Spin, Asterism, Whiskey Dust, Glim Spanky, Hades, Toranoko Rammy, SheGlapes, East of Eden, Unlucky Morpheus, Rolling Quartz, Voice of Baceprot, The Warning, LETITOUT-lelia-... well, you get the idea. :) Have fun exploring!
Absolutely not, you have to stick around and make sure we don’t telephone the stories into absurdity. Before long Akane will have been hand taught by Jimmy Page or something…
You mentioned the guitar duo's ... they're known for their "call an response" with the Bass and Lead at their live shows. There is a live stream of "Dice and Hate" at Lallapalooza '23 that will blow you away ... then again the majority of their songs will do that. Oh, and in 99% of cases, their live versions are better than the studio ... they adore their fans and vice versa. P.S. this live clip was an online concert (no crowd) they done for their fans during COVID. They shine live ... with a crowd. One of the best live bands of the modern era.
I've been a BAND-MAID fan for 8 years. It's called Maidiac. The main difference between the studio version and the live version of “Thrill” is This is the recording state and Base Misa's instrument changing from 4 strings to 5 strings and expanding Base's riff. At their live performances, the band members practice for four to five hours a day so that they can perform at the same quality as in the studio. I often see other bands perform live that is far inferior to their studio versions. This is a band that never disappoints. My favorite song is "Blooming". Please feel free to comment. th-cam.com/video/uUt_JBMocKM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SbL18Q8TRBVoJ7lX
Welcome new Maidiacs you only have 130 or so more songs to enjoy. If you like them I think you would enjoy watching their video about their tour in 2022 or 2023.driving around the US
Welcome back to the best rock band on the planet! (Imo). Glad you loved it, this song created so many madiacs and it’s always fun to see it work again! Since you like this one more than the first, I think the next ones you should listen to are: Real existence Don’t you tell me Non fiction days
Thank you for the reactions. Enjoyed your reactions to Band-Maid. If you want to see some crazy good call and response (guitar duel) between MISA (bass guitar) and Kanami (lead guitar), check out Hate? Live at Lollapalooza 2023. The sound is as raw and pure as they get. And the performance?...pure fire! Cheers!
I don't know Mrs. Coach, seems to me Coach is batting 1000. 😉 Really hoping The Maids release a video of "Thrill" from their 10th Anniversary finale at Yokohama Arena which took place in November 2023. They DESTROYED it! (The DVD/Blue ray is now available for pre-order, hint-hint. The whole show is EPIC!) My guess is you'll also very much enjoy their song "Manners". You can do either the mv or the live (from this same online "serving"), but be warned, "Manners" live is coupled with "Black Hole", and "Black Hole" requires a helmet, shoulder pads, and um..."other protection". 🤣 Thanks Guys! 🕊️
Hi Coach & Mrs Coach, could you return to reacting to Queen again please? I love your Queen reactions :) I highly recommend a ballad for Mrs C; It's A Hard Life, live in Rio 1985. & an in-your-face, rock out fest for Mr C; The Hero/We Will Rock You (the fast version) live at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 1982. Great channel! Keep up the brilliant work you do :)
Yes, our plan is to record more Queen this weekend to post next week. So many groups, but we'll never forget Queen, they were our first reaction on the channel.
I was among those who pointed you to Domination as a starter. I still think it's the best introduction, but Thrill is still one of my favorites from the Maids. It's just so darned catchy, while still rocking HARD. Also, my recommendation, at least, came on one of your The Warning reactions. If you ask me which of the two I like better, it depends on the day you ask--but between the two, there are NO better hard rock bands working today.
Appreciate all the suggestions that ended up directing us on this path. We enjoy both of the bands you mention and of course, hope to do a lot more of both over time.
Brilliant reaction. :) Anyway... There is also a massive, solid and creative drummer. Akane Hirose is - in my opinion - one of the best drummers in the world. :)
if you would like to do another double up - can I suggest you react to "Secret my Lips" by Band Maid and then listen to "Secret Maiko Lips" by their alter ego band called Band Maiko.
The "Live" version was done during covid years and there is no audience - it was live streamed. MIKU - the originator of the band and the original singer, also could not play the guitar. Notice she is not playing it in this video. Since then KANAMI - the other guitarist, also writes the music for the band, taught her to play. SAIKI - the lead singer - wears a blue rose as a ying to MiKU's yang (or visa versa) Here is another dual song reaction you can do that you will enjoy as well - PUZZLE - Acoustic version - th-cam.com/video/ayJtzPkgZTc/w-d-xo.html - Rock version - th-cam.com/video/zvuqmSQEnaA/w-d-xo.html Yes the fans are known as MAIDIACS - be very careful you will become one as well. Then you will be doomed (in a good way!) to listen to 10+ years of their songs on Spotify. Interviewer: Maid outfits aren’t exactly rock ‘n’ roll. What is your ultimate heavy metal costume? MIKU “Now Band-Maid’s outfits are part of rock n roll, so we pick these!”
Thank you Coach for the double feature , glad to be a part of your channels history , you are correct Maidiac`s , next song Freedom official live video .
This was their breakout MV. Their agency was going to get rid of Kanami, MISA and Akane, keep Miku and Saiki to become Dance Maid!! Miku and Saiki were under contract, Kanami, MISA and Akane weren't. This MV got 2 million views in 2 weeks, the surprise was about 45% of the views were American and Europeans. So a change of plans by the agency. So in 2016 they were invite to perform at the Asian Culture Festival in Seattle, WA. Kicking off them touring of the US and Europe on a regular basics. They didn't write this song, Miku did contribute to the lyrics. Miku was actually told by Akane, MISA and Kanami that her voice was too soft to front the band. So Miku went to her agency for another singer. The agency said they had someone, but they didn't think she wouldn't be able to deal with Miku and wouldn't go for the maid costumes. So Saik got tricked into joining the Band. She was 18 and working as a backup singer and dancer. They also told her the Band needed another guitar, she didn't want another member so she said she would learn to play the guitar if Kanami would be her sensei. You can see her growth on the guitar in the 2 videos. You still need to react to Nemophila "Seize the Fate" and Lovebites "Hammer of Wrath". Note: The Band that broke open the European and American market for the Japanese Bands was Babymetal in 2014.
So many more songs. Get busy. And please tell your friends. I think there are many others in America who would love BAND-MAID, but would never open their minds to listening to a Japanese “girl band.” Or, to paraphrase Auntie Mame, “Life is a smorgasbord, and most poor suckers are starving to death.“
Simply put, the best live rock band on the planet.
Totally agree.
Hey, you stole my line. 😁😆😆😆
Seen them live twice. Both times blown away by their talent!
AMEN! ♥
This is the song that will draw you into the Band-Maid rabbit hole! 🕊️❄️🍌🥷🎸
This song is fantastic!
Band Maid's "Blooming" is a hard rock beatdown. But a lot of their songs are, they are incredible.
+1
Yes, this song saved the band from getting disbanded by the management, and gotten world wide recognition/attention😊
The live version was from online concert during the COVID days. They do better when performing live, and usually add extra intro/breakdowns.
Thanks for the info!
The Maids watch reaction videos, hopefully they will see yours.
Band-Maid is a versatile, genre-bending hard rock band. Thrill is one of their more straightforward hard rock offerings. Tnx!
Wait until you hear their acoustic versions of their songs, it will blow you away.
Thanks!
This was the first song I heard from Band-Maid and have been hooked since! I went to "Dice" next, I think you would like it, as well!
Thanks for the info!
Many thanks for this great info. We're having fun with the channel in general and this band has been a very pleasant surprise.
@@mikeat2637 Susanna Hoffs...😍
Love band maid one of my favorite girl rock groups
You guys have good taste! Believe me, you have found something special. You will never get bored with them. They always surprise you.
Hopefully someday they release the Yokohama Arena version of Thrill on the official channel, they kicked it up a few notches.
You've barely scratched the surface of Band-Maid greatness. Soon you'll be looking at their music and merch for sale, and overseas concert announcements (none right at the moment). I hope to see you at a live Band-Maid show soon.🤘
This is the song that made me a fan! Oddly enough, I 1st heard this song on a random react video back in 2019
Wound up binging their entire channel that same day! absolutely ♥ these girls!
Wow, very cool. I don't know who could listen to this group and not appreciate their talent to rock the house.
We're blown away by how good this was!
Thank you for this info. We're so impressed with them after two songs. This is real rock and roll, not some gimmick. It's fantastic!
To paraphrase another reviewer's quote, "There is not a weak pillar in this band."
I think Mrs. Coach is gonna really like the ballady stuff like Daydreaming, Endless Story, and Wonderland!
This is all great info and we particularly appreciate the info about them not blocking videos. Thanks for the very helpful comment.
Well spoken tony, well spoken 🥰
@@CoachCastTV Babymetal's company are the only ones to be cautious of, generally.
Good to know!
They are both right!
and you guys need to check out Akane the drummer when she goes into full "GORILLA " mode in "Freedom. Shambles, Domination, Dice..." lol
(be on my WAaaYYY!)
So happy to see Coach finding such a happy place! Was this the birth of a new Maidiac?!
Indeed, pass the cigars.
Band maid has a lot of songs in my workout playlists. This one I got at the top of my running list. Gets me going every time.
Understandable.
This was the song that got hooked years. These ladies are awesome 🤘
I knew I was helplessly entrapped in the BAND-MAID universe after just the one song "Dice". Now I can't go even one day without a serving... I have been to three of their concerts even got a wink and a high five from Miku herself. Never washed my hand again... Ha ha ha...
Band-Maid is to Rock what Mamamoo is to KPOP. Cream of the crop.
That's high praise, indeed.
Band Maid's Official Music Video for "Dice" is one you don't want to miss.
I 2nd this!
In the LIVE you can even notice Saiki-san push her vocals better. (She had polyps removal surgery in 2017.) And of course Miku-chan's vocals are more Pop Rock now instead of just Pop Idol timbre.
Check out 'SHAMBLES' official video by these ladies...you will love it if you enjoyed 'THRILL'.
The Best hard rock band also another all female Japanese band is Lovebites
It's fun to watch new Maidiacs form right in front of our eyes.......welcome
Their chops are so much better than this early work which was written for them. Their own material is just wonderful, since this. Recommend the LIVE version of Manners with Black Hole, Domination (live) and Freedom. My favorite lower key work of theirs is Daydreaming. If you want to see a great live concert (short 40 minute set) watch their cut at Lollapaloosa. They are almost always better live.
Band maid is a super live band
LOL! Thanks so much! There will be a lot more Band-Maid on the channel.
Wondered what "po" was. LOL
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
Amigos you haven'teven touched the tip of the iceberg! Watching you go down the pigeon hole of Band Maid is going to be fun! Keep Rocking!!!👍🏼🤟🏼✌🏻
So glad you reacted to Thrill !
Yes, many of the fans call themselves Maidiacs, however, the Maids actually refer their fans as Masters and Princesses :)
Thanks for the info!
Thanks for watching!
MISA was hungover during this shoot...still killed it on the bass.
Welcome home master and princess ❤
Many thanks!
Nice!
SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL - VIKING
REO Speedwagon, Journey (with Steve Perry), and KISS are the only other artists I had seen in concert who outperformed their studio tracks. Until I saw Band Maid. I’m still going to recommend some music videos because they haven’t released official lives for everything.
From an old blues rock cat from Detroit, I highly recommend any of the following for your specific tastes:
“Choose Me,” official music video (the Maids’ third single)
“The non-fiction days,” official music video. Early Maid rock
“DICE,” (official music video is best so far)
“Don’t you tell ME,” LIVE @ Zepp Tokyo 2018
“Real Existence,” Live, not the music video
“Puzzle,” official live video from Tokyo Garden 2023
Enjoy the ride 🚀
Saw KISS in concert just a few years back and agree 100% the live was superb.
Lots of names there we never heard, but we do have The Warning on the channel. There is no end to the content. LOL
Riff🎸Riff🎸Riff🎸‼️
Great riff 👍❤❤❤
Saw them in Dallas a few years ago. One of the best live bands I've ever seen
that was some dirty rock😆😆🤘🤘
Oh yeah!
It is really good to see some newer fans in the comments sharing some of the older band lore as it was shared with them. I can retire now :p .
LOL!
Absolutely not, you have to stick around and make sure we don’t telephone the stories into absurdity. Before long Akane will have been hand taught by Jimmy Page or something…
@@evilducks3710 Awwww ... ok then :p .
We can see the great improvement during their 7 years, between MV and live.
You should listen to every song on this album it will blow your fricken mind
The main difference between the studio version and the live version of “Thrill” is
This is the recording state and Base Misa's instrument changing from 4 strings to 5 strings and expanding Base's riff.
At their live performances, the band members practice for four to five hours a day so that they can perform at the same quality as in the studio.
I often see other bands perform live that is far inferior to their studio versions.
This is a band that never disappoints.
My favorite song is "Blooming".
Please feel free to comment.

No argument here!
I look the band , I love there sound they one of my favorite 😍
Welcome new Maidiacs you only have 130 or so more songs to enjoy. If you like them I think you would enjoy watching their video about their tour in 2022 or 2023.driving around the US
Welcome back to the best rock band on the planet! (Imo).
Glad you loved it, this song created so many madiacs and it’s always fun to see it work again!
Since you like this one more than the first, I think the next ones you should listen to are:
Real existence
Don’t you tell me
Non fiction days
Thanks!
Recommended songs: Domination (Shibuya live), Freedom (Shibuya live), Manners, Warning.
Next level talent and master musicians Seen them live twice. Been following the Maids for 7 years. Great reaction by the way.
Thanks!
LOL, thanks for the heads up!
@CoachCastTV Excellent,I'll look forward to them. Yes I understand and yep true, it's fantastic they were :)
They are something else...and live they're even better!
Anyway... There is also a massive, solid and creative drummer.
Akane Hirose is - in my opinion - one of the best drummers in the world. :)
Well, Band-Maid did open for Guns n Roses in Japan for a good reason......
Guys, I think we got another one. Or even 2 😉
if you would like to do another double up - can I suggest you react to "Secret my Lips" by Band Maid and then listen to "Secret Maiko Lips" by their alter ego band called Band Maiko.
The Maidiacs did stay! 🔥🕊😍
We appreciate it.
The "Live" version was done during covid years and there is no audience - it was live streamed.
MIKU - the originator of the band and the original singer, also could not play the guitar. Notice she is not playing it in this video. Since then KANAMI - the other guitarist, also writes the music for the band, taught her to play. SAIKI - the lead singer - wears a blue rose as a ying to MiKU's yang (or visa versa)
Here is another dual song reaction you can do that you will enjoy as well - PUZZLE - Acoustic version - th-cam.com/video/ayJtzPkgZTc/w-d-xo.html - Rock version - th-cam.com/video/zvuqmSQEnaA/w-d-xo.html
Yes the fans are known as MAIDIACS - be very careful you will become one as well.
Thanks for watching!
This is good background info. Thanks!
You guys would love Hate? Live lollapalooza. For real.
Great reaction !!! Keep going. Try an instrumental like “From Now On”. #bandmaid
The only thing better than BAND-MAID is BAND-MAID twice!! 😆😆
That's what I was thinking!
LOL, good quote.
