  • We all knew it was coming... Honda has replaced the long running J-Series V6 in the 10th generation Accord with a unique version of the wonderful 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder from the Civic Type R. We just have one question, is it quicker than the V6 in straight line acceleration? Watch the video and find out!

Honda just needs a Type R version of the Accord with a V6 turbo:) I would buy it in 2 seconds!

10 speed auto and 200lbs weight reduction likely explains the difference. I still prefer the sound and throttle response of the NA V6.

I like my old V6 coupe. 326,000 miles, still going strong.

No 2.0T can replace the legendary J Series

The v6 is superior in different ways. I like the v6 because i can guarantee it is quieter, smoother and will have a longer engine life than the turbo i4.

They can only take my VTEC V6 when they pry it from my cold, dead hands!

This is crazy, the old accord V6s are some of the quickest non-sporty sedans out there. The new 4 seems really impressive.

I bought a 2017 Accord V6 a week after the debut of the 2018 Accord 2.0T. I got it mainly because I wanted to have one of the last V6 engines in an Accord and because I liked the styling slightly more. However, I have noticed that when Honda does their mid-cycle refreshes, the models look significantly better than the first half of the generation. Come late 2020 when this model is refreshed, Honda will probably make up for the many grips people have with the car. But I always say, you gotta drive the car first before you can make a general statement. I had a 2011 Accord for the longest time and thought it was so ugly because of reflectors on the trunk and the styling, but over the course of having the car, when it was time to sell it, I actually really liked the styling. I think styling grows on people with time. It will work with this model too.

This is hands down the best video on TH-cam regarding the new touring Honda Accord vs the previous iteration. The best.

Sofyan & the team, thanks a ton for sharing practical insights as always! I was waiting IMPATIENTLY for you to make one for this new Accord lol. Your presentation is thoughtfully better than seriously most of the "reviewers".

I drive a V6 Camry, personally, I don't buy a V6 for 0-60 mph runs. I buy it for refinement, low noise levels and reliability. Good job to Honda, we'll see how the Camry and the Accord compete this time.

While that 2.0L turbo 4 is amazingly fast in the 10th gen accord, I just can't get over how amazing that J35 V6 still sounds to this day. One of the best N/A V6 engines ever made. Also the 9th generation Accord definitely looks more handsome in design, but the 10th gen isn't terrible.

The new design is killer, to me. The wide stance and sharp lines look gorgeous. And the black chrome and wheels on the Sport look even better!
