    I don't even see why there is a rivalry. A smart person would buy either of these cars, preferably the one that you can get a better deal on....Just my opinion. People in my family have owned both Camrys and Accords over the years and they have been equally impressed by both.

    • @angrysocialjusticewarrior
      @angrysocialjusticewarrior 7 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      It's not just about "the better car", it's also about how it makes you feel when driving. for example... People who buy BMW's or Merc's are not stupid or blind to the fact that they are notoriously unreliable, they buy them because the driving experience is magical compare to a simple appliance such as the Camry.

    • @TJBellamy99
      @TJBellamy99 7 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      If the Camry is an appliance, Accord is one too. Most people are not going to notice and let along care about the things auto enthusiast nick and pick about. You think the average Camry/Accord buyers are going to be seeing how fast their car goes from 0-60 mph, zooming around curves aggressively or any other thing these auto reviewers be doing? The answer to that question is simply 'no', because most people buying these cars are middle class people driving from work, picking their children up from school and running errands. Simply that.

      If a Camry is an "appliance" then so is a BMW or a Mercedes Benz. The experience with a BMW, MB, etc. is in your head. A Camry cost the same to produce as a BMW or a Mercedes. Your paying for the badge and LOW quality interior/engine components which is why previous BMWs and Mercedes Benz vehicles had the reputation of being POS when it comes to reliability. Last time I checked, it was "magical" to know that your car is reliable and gets you from point A to point B. NO-ONE GIVES A F ABOUT WHAT KIND OF CAR YOU DRIVE!!! KEEP UP, IT'S 2018, NOT 2000!!! I can also assure you, many MANY people would drive by a Mercedes or a Toyota AND NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE!!!

    • @nathanschnieder470
      @nathanschnieder470 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @ killnetic bane, in addition, yes, yes BMW and Mercedes Benz drivers are "stupid" or "blind" to the fact that they are notoriously unreliable. That's just it between a Camry driver and a "stupid" and "blind" Mercedes and BMW driver. THEY THINK OTHER PEOPLE CARE WHAT THEY DRIVE, BUT REALITY SAYS OTHERWISE!!! IT'S A STATUS THING IN PEOPLE HEAD IS ALL THAT IT IS!!! If I see someone driving a BMW or a Mercedes, all that tells me is that they are a poor manager of their money and could have saved that $20k difference, bought a Camry and retired 1 year earlier if they hadn't made the poor decision to by the BMW or Mercedes. Both vehicles don't really indicate whether someone is rich or not. I see more used BMW and Mercedes Benz on the road which make the drivers look even "stupider". Buying it "used" means YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT NEW!!!

    • @raksharthchaudhary9380
      @raksharthchaudhary9380 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That also, tells that you really like to mind other people's business and what they drive. I have driven all of those cars mentioned and it is not a lie that BMW's and merc's drive a lot better. German engineering is not unreliable because most stupid fucks in America don't take care of their car. It's simple for a german car you respect the car, the car will respect you back.

    Stay away from turbochargers. It’s a fake way they sell gas efficiency and in the end these cars are more expensive to maintain and drive. Toyota’s reliability will win this one. Styling isnt perfect on either, they don’t want these cars competing with their luxury brands. I don’t like the iPad look Honda dashboard that many manufacturers now try to push. 200 hp on Toyota without turbocharger nor CVT wins for me.

    • @CFG39

      MIKE Mayers turbochargers are installed on almost 50% of every cars sold. As someone who has owned numerous turbocharged cars, reliability isn't any problem unless you never change your oil. Modern turbocharged cars are just as reliable as any naturally aspirated car. My 2.0T Accord averages 32mpg in mixed driving and I drive with a lead foot. The Camry sucks.

Everyone says the accord handles better in every video I've watched. When the accord is compared to the camry, the accord always wins. I've only seen one comparison in which the accord lost and it was a video by Gold Pony. The accord only lost to the camry because the Camry had red seats, a panoramic moonroof and a JBL sound system. Yesterday I went to both Honda & Toyota... in my opinion the Honda looked much more like a civic overall. The interior was nice. Though the side view looks like an audi type of car. In the other hand, the Camry looks much better in person than in video. Felt more comfortable & looks more stylish. At the end both have good engine... they get the job done. I like previous looks on Honda better than Camry but this time Camry wins. When it comes to Apple CarPlay/ Android auto people really don't use those features. What we really just want is good speakers! Let's be honest! Lol Last but not least, it's not a racing car. People debate so much as to which one is faster. Come one guys they are both family mid size sedans!!! Don't expect much! At the end, I'd take the Camry this time!

    • @skifree0
      @skifree0 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I disagree with the carplay and android auto, people definitely use them. My car came with standard garmin nav built into the unit, and I never even used it once, Always preferred carplay for it's ergonomics (the way it handles perspective as you approach a corner is much better), or if you are on the android side, it's google maps, nothing beats it.
      as for not a racing car, I don't think that's the point. People might care about the engine more than ever because the family sedan is an escape from crossovers. It's the practical car that still preserves some soul for the driver, so having a peppy engine may actually matter. If driving dynamics really are a non-issue, then you get much more practicality out of a CUV or SUV than anything these cars offer.

I appreciate finally having my own car and having a gas saver too but if I had the luxury to choose I would choose the accord. The climate control is better/stronger. I do appreciate the trunk space in my Camry it is much larger than the accord. So there are pros and cons on both. I just like how the accord performs and runs a bit better. Both great cars.

  • @bchandler81
    @bchandler81 7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    I’ve owned both of these cars & at the end of the day, Toyota just builds them better: reliability, fit & finish, comfort, longevity & ride quality. The paint on my top-of-the-line Accord developed large, ugly white spots (on black paint) on the hood, roofline, trunk & rear quarter panels. Transmission went out at 75,000 miles & after getting that repaired, the power steering pump went out along with the AC. My keyless entry stopped working on my Accord roughly around the same time as did my sunroof. My Toyota’s have never spent a day in the shop, ever.

      Brian Chandler I’ve seen those worn out paint on the roof of older Accords on the road all the time! A Japanese car with a broken transmission at 75k! Wow lol. Rare from all the rave reviews I’ve heard about Japanese vehicles

    • @bchandler81
      @bchandler81 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Keith Knox, reliability has never been better on Honda. Resale value yes, but not reliability. There are several markers that measure reliability; Consumer Reports being one of the most credible. Also, if you look at reliability by car maker & then look at their luxury counterpart (if they have one) that is a true measure of reliability & craftsmanship. Toyota & Lexus are both at the top of the charts, Honda & Acura are not (in fact, far from it).

    • @bchandler81
      @bchandler81 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keith Knox, further proof that Honda isn't more reliable (besides the obvious). Acura, @ #9 most unreliable make (aka Honda).

I’ve done a lot research and test drove both accord and the Camry before my purchase and I got to admit the Camry has the full package when it comes to looks, performance, and interior design. Hands down the Camry has a sharper look compare to the Accord from the front and back. Unlike the Honda Accord, the much preferred Toyota Camry, comes without the use of turbo's and CVT transmission. Congratulation are in order to Toyota for sticking to your roots and for offering a V/6 naturally aspirated, better car.The poor direction taken by the inferior Honda Accord has taken, all to get 0.5 gallon per MPG duh and at what cost this will redoubtable go down a big mistake for Honda not listening to there customer again.

      They're cheaper and dealers give out more incentives and discounts. Honda doesn't do that. Also, Toyota sells a good number of Camrys to rental car fleets, hence why the Camry's resale value has tanked below the accord's

    Missing from most auto evaluations is reliability. It is impossible to predict which car will be most reliable but it is possible to state which manufacturer has the best record. This is where Toyota comes out ahead. Their past commitment to producing very reliable products has earned it an enviable reputation. Any automobile expert who doesn't mention reliability records of manufacturers is not including what is probably the most important concern for someone looking to buy a car.

    When has the Camry or any Toyota been known as a drivers car, other than the Supra? I agree that Toyota did do a much better job this time around with the Camry, but is it better than the Accord? No. Having driven both I think Honda still holds a slight edge as they always have, especially in the ride and handling department but nonetheless these two cars will go on competing with each other as they always have and dominating the midsize segment as usual. You really can’t go wrong with either, but for me, I’ll take the Accord sport with a manual!
