Thank you. I personally cover in public at all times. I only cover in my house when praying and reading the Word. I like for my husband to see my hair.
Praying is talking to God which I do throughout the day spontaneously so I think cover all the time. hence I'm praying without ceasing. My husband loves it, also as a sign of respect and submission and covering my glory, reserving it only for him.

The "pray without ceasing" is actually a clunky translation problem. The Greek word used there is not meant to be translated as a constant, unending action but more of a regular action you return to often. It would be better translated as "pray often and pray regularly."
That clarification is great and makes perfect sense. I do often wonder if its because of several translations that the Bible has been under that causes such differences in opinion.

I love this topic. And I think praying without ceasing is telling us to continue praying about a thing even after we feel like it’s been answered in the way WE wanted. There are aspects, that our finite minds may not readily conceive, to the thing we prayed about. We must pray about them also, when our minds are able to conceive them.
I see headcovering as a crown for a daughter of the King of the Universe, hence a physical symbol of a spiritual protection. I do believe it has to be a personal conviction, otherwise it’s just a costume. For some women it’s part of their uniform so to speak as an ambassador for Christ. I see head covering in the adultery test Numbers 5:18. I think head covering and modesty affects a lady’s countenance, especially when done as a lifestyle.

I also fall in the second category. I only feel a conviction (for now) to cover my head when I am out on public or praying or prophesying 🙌. I don't have a husband btw and I decided that there is no since in me wearing a covering if I'm just sitting around my apartment by myself. Also, next week my pastor and his wife is supposed to be coming by to bless my home. I know that will involve praying (also I feel that my head should be covered in the presence of men) so I will definitely be putting a covering on when they arrive.
AMEN. Thank you for this timely video!! I have been lax lately in covering my head. As I listened to this, GOD spoke to me and said to cover your head for this battle. I believe that women should cover their heads to prophesy and in times of prayer but also in spiritual warfare prayers.
Thank you :) I had sent that question to you guys a few months ago. I remember hearing somewhere about how a mom and a little child may spend the whole day together, and for a good part of it the mom is doing her own work and the child is playing in the same room, and every now and then they exchange a word. Each is concentrated in their own practical task, yet they are aware of each other's presence, and there is a continual underlying connection going on. That's my all time favorite picture of what it means to "pray without ceasing". As you said, it involves being always ready to pray. You are right, I can see that there is definitely freedom here. To me, from what you said, it seems just easier to have it on by default ^^ Thank you so much for taking the time!
Amen Carisa totally agree! Side note though even if she feels convicted to cover full time she needs to make sure her husband is on board. If he isn't she shouldn't. The act of submission is more important than the symbol.
If the HS tells her to cover, and the husband tells her not to, then the husband needs to submit more to the HS of God, instead of trying to hinder the work of the HS in his wife.
Excellent video! Wonderful encouragement too. I cover part time. When I spend time in prayer every morning before my day starts, I always cover, and before I go to bed at night. But I pray a lot throughout the day as well and find myself away from my covering or not having one close by. I really need to work on having it available so I can cover every time I pray. I have a Christian husband who also suffers from mental illness. He sometimes gets things mixed up with Scripture and sometimes things disturb him. Sometimes I get afraid if I cover with him around he will be disturb by it, not understanding it, and make me quit covering. I actually pray a lot throughout the day, and full-time covering would help, he knows I do cover sometimes, but his situation is the main reason I don't.
I tried having a head covering available at all time to pray but it just got so annoying! I pray probably a few times an hour. Keeping my head covering nearby but not on my head actually hinders my prayer life. I need to feel it's ok to pray ANYTIME so I just keep my head covering on full time.

Thanks, and blessings to Carisa those who follow the ordinance of the Father’s authority. This is a hard thing and contrary to modern cultural androgyny. Nevertheless, the encouragement to pray without ceasing in 1 Thes is not merely literal as Carisa insists, it is hyperbole. AND it does not contradict the instructions for the ordinance in 1 Cor 11 which addresses times when the church prays or prophesies (v4, 6, &13). Even if you maintain “pray or prophesy” is not a synecdoche for worship, it still specifies times of prayer or prophesy as distinguished from times of work or play or whatever. Moreover, this is not merely an ordinance for women! It is a tradition of men and women. And, if you don’t have both men and women, you don’t have the full visible submission of the church in accordance with 1 Cor 11:1-16. Men must be uncovered during these times of “prayer or prophesy” also. Finally, if churches have “other” practices (v16), and do not “hold firmly” (v2) to the tradition as it was given, the ordinance diverges, diffuses and disappears, becoming a symbol defined by the individual, rather than by the authority of the word of God. And, the misuse of this symbol has been exaggerated by cults and other religions to bad effect.
Greetings of peace in JESUS’ Name, Here is Luke 21 verse 36 in two different versions: King James Bible Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted *worthy* to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Christian Standard Bible But be alert at all times, praying that you may have *strength* to escape all these things that are going to take place and to stand before the Son of Man."

I understand these passages in 1 Corinthians 11 to a woman’s long hair as her head covering and if she is shaven then she needs to cover or grow her hair.
@@headcovering what if your husband is unsaved? Should you still obey his direction? Do women still cover if they have an unsaved husband? No, you can't take that off. Either cover your hair all the time so that no one sees anything or accept hair as your covering. A true covering is not taken off if you pray without ceasing. Period.

Are married women the only ones who are supposed to cover their hair? All the verses I have read are referring to wives covering their hair but dont say anything about the single women.
@slash903 @Jim High @William Brewer While it is true that women are forbidden from teaching and having authority over men, Titus 2 (v3-5) women do teach younger women (presumably as Casa is doing in the OP). And of course, women teach children. Furthermore, prophesy is a broad umbrella term as used in the bible. It is much more than [inerrant] foretelling and [1 Cor 14 errant] forthtelling as our modern definition often narrows it. It also includes playing musical instruments & singing (1 Chron 25), and Eph @-20 and Col @ command us all to sing. So, women do remain silent during mixed teaching, but are not silent when they sing. So, the ordinance for women to cover when they pray or prophesy in church is in perfect harmony with all other scripture....And all of this again is offered in correctio of the OP. Covering by women is not something they decide to do on their own, it is a church ordinance, like the Lord's Supper and Baptism, and is not a female only ordinance - it mandates men should be uncovered at times of prayer or prophesy
@freespirit7450 Jesus doesn't like long prayers done *for show*. However, Jesus Himself prayed all night, sometimes. When the Bible says to "pray without ceasing," it means to not give up praying, even when things get hard and we're discouraged. It also means that we should make prayer a part of our daily lives, so that whatever comes up we make a habit of approaching God with it, as a good Friend.
Actually, it's not. The general assembly instructions begin with verse 17 ("when you come together"). There is nothing in the context that indicates the order to be limited to the assembly.
@@slash903 verse 2 Now I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold firmly to the (church) traditions, just as I delivered them to you. 3 But I want you to understand (them)... this is referring to church issues, not individual issues and this is clearly stated in verse 16 But if one is inclined to be contentious (about these church traditions), we have no other practice, nor have the churches of God.
@@jimhigh5665 You're inserting the idea of church tradition into the text, but that is not supported in the greater context of the letter. Paul is giving a command concerning praying and prophesying. In the same letter, he commands women to remain silent in the gathered church (chapter 14), meaning they cannot prophesy when the church is gathered. If covering while prophesying is meant to be only during the gathered assembly, the command to cover while doing so is useless.
@@everythingsgonnabealright7924 Because teaching the congregation as a whole is to be done by men. 1 Timothy 2:12 gives better insight into this concept: women are more susceptible to spiritual deceit, and as such God has deemed teaching the body as a whole to be limited to men. Women can sing and even offer testimony, just not teach/preach. Notice that the command to remain silent is paired with learning in submission, indicating that the "remaining silent" is in regards to teaching/speaking or learning/remaining silent.

Greetings of peace in JESUS’ Name,
Here is Luke 21 verse 36 in two different versions:
King James Bible
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted *worthy* to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Christian Standard Bible
But be alert at all times, praying that you may have *strength* to escape all these things that are going to take place and to stand before the Son of Man."
KJV is better
Agreed. Most important is that we don’t just hear the word but be doers of the word, lest we deceive our own selves.
That’s why I LOVE hoodies!! My head covering is always available 😊. My husband doesn’t want me wearing anything on my head that looks “religious”, but he doesn’t seem to mind if I have my hood on and off throughout my day!
Now I just need something like that for warm/hot weather....🤔
Maybe a wide headband? 😊💛
There are some really cute, lightweight flowy vests on Amazon with hoods! They’d be great during the summer. 😀
a wide headband helps. i live in a hot humid weather so i like wearing wide headbands cloth fabric.
Exactly. "Ceasing" in this context means to pray as much as possible, not to pray 24/7.
Certainly
New video soon, maybe? ;) love you guys! God’s Blessings
Thanks Gem! Sorry it's been slow. That is the hope for sure although there won't be anything until at least July.
You can count on me to be your first viewer! God Bless :)
I understand these passages in 1 Corinthians 11 to a woman’s long hair as her head covering and if she is shaven then she needs to cover or grow her hair.
It's definitely a common view. Here's our response to it: www.headcoveringmovement.com/articles/is-a-womans-long-hair-her-covering
@@headcovering what if your husband is unsaved? Should you still obey his direction? Do women still cover if they have an unsaved husband? If I understand the reason to cover wouldn’t it be because being under the husbands rule? But if he is directed by Satan in his actions and we cover in prayer then wouldn’t that be giving place to Satan? I’m confused.
Does this speaker have a TH-cam channel, or speak at length regarding this or other topics? I related to her and enjoyed her candor
@christinlynn7616 Thanks for your question. She no longer volunteers with the Head Covering Movement, so we're not currently in touch with her, and I unfortunately am not able to answer your question. However, you may want to visit our site at www.headcoveringmovement.com/ where you can read testimonies by many headcovering women, some of whom you may be able to find on social media.

Wow she is amazing at explaining and her nature is so beautiful :) does she have a TH-cam ??
She sure does: th-cam.com/channels/MUMJR6jxhOLeGE9cS0osyQ.htmlvideos
Unfortunately the link says the channel doesn't exist anymore. Does Carisa have a website or blog at all? Thanks. ❤️
Please post the link to the article you mentioned!!

Where did you get your scarf from? I could see myself covering full time.
Late, but Etsy has a ton of classic, chic, and modest head coverings.
AliExpress also has tons of scarves, headbands etc of any and every kind!
check out amazon too
There are some Religion in the world where Head covering is very important .. There is some solid reason behind it ...
Not just head covering but non trimming of hair is also important..
When you dig into it ,you gonna be surprised with """Non trimming and trimming of Hair"""🙏
I'm a teenage girl and I talk/pray to God frequently and silently in my head (though I also pray out loud at other times privately and at home and in other situations) does that mean even with those prayers that are like the quick second, "what should I do about this, God?" requires head covering?
You may find our articles on this topic to be helpful.
See Question #9 on our FAQ...
www.headcoveringmovement.com/faq
No, you can't take that off. Either cover your hair all the time so that no one sees anything or accept hair as your covering. A true covering is not taken off if you pray without ceasing. Period.
@SpencerLionheart-l9p Hello; there are different opinions on that topic, coming from Christians who sincerely want to correctly understand and apply the headcovering passage. Here is an article from our website that talks about when to cover: www.headcoveringmovement.com/articles/where-are-head-coverings-to-practiced-in-church-or-everywhere
What link below? I don't see any.

I find this very discouraging in my walk with God because I pray in the shower, when I wake up in the middle of the night, etc. So I guess I can’t pray anymore in the shower or when I wake up on the night without a head covering? I’m confused.
Hi, MM, thanks for your question. We can (and should) pray continuously throughout the day. How good to hear that you are already doing that! To answer your question, here is an informative article from the HCM website:
www.headcoveringmovement.com/articles/where-are-head-coverings-to-practiced-in-church-or-everywhere
Hope that helps!
Thanks so much for your kind response. I will check out the website for sure. Sincerely want to learn more about it.
You're very welcome, MM!
@@MM-wr8uv Well, if you were to be in an extreme situation, like being locked in somewhere without any thing to cover with, God would understand, that is obvious. Those certainly are excetpitoons however
It also says in public and church?
While it doesn't use those words, we believe a strong argument can be made contextually. Here's that: www.headcoveringmovement.com/articles/where-are-head-coverings-to-practiced-in-church-or-everywhere
This really seems like it should be a choice, one's own conviction. Not a point of pride. With no compulsion to do so, nor penalty for not.
Are married women the only ones who are supposed to cover their hair? All the verses I have read are referring to wives covering their hair but dont say anything about the single women.
Sorry for the late response. Here's the answer to your question: www.headcoveringmovement.com/articles/should-single-women-wear-head-coverings
I can't find a link to the blog post mentioned
Hi Stephanie, can you provide more info as to what blog post was referenced. Is it a HCM article? What's it about?
At about 5:40
@slash903 @Jim High @William Brewer While it is true that women are forbidden from teaching and having authority over men, Titus 2 (v3-5) women do teach younger women (presumably as Casa is doing in the OP).
I thought Jesus didn't like long prayers. Why is the bible so confusing? 😕
1 Corinthians 11 in context is about women praying during assembly, not during other activities.
@@slash903 Can you explain why the bible says women should be quiet in church? Does that mean a woman cannot sing in church or give a testimony?
@@everythingsgonnabealright7924 Because teaching the congregation as a whole is to be done by men. 1 Timothy 2:12 gives better insight into this concept: women are more susceptible to spiritual deceit, and as such God has deemed teaching the body as a whole to be limited to men.
Women can sing and even offer testimony, just not teach/preach. Notice that the command to remain silent is paired with learning in submission, indicating that the "remaining silent" is in regards to teaching/speaking or learning/remaining silent.
heading coverings aren´t literal but have to do with headship with Christ as the Head of man and the head of a woman a man but a man can´t stop a women from going to God and head covering translation in Greek makes this interpretation false. Check out john MacArthur sermon head covering. Break down word for word but not hating on people wearing head covering but looking down on others who aren´t is wrong.
