Nephews, I will be uploading soon a version where I leave some comments (texts) explaining why I picked those soundtracks in particular. So you can activate the notification bell if you want. Also if you have an idea for a track on a specific area, let me know in the comments bellow. If I get enough of them I might do another video with them.
It's much better without ambient music. What fascinates me about DS1 is the feeling of emptiness, solitude and anxiety, while exploring silent doomed world
I actually think anor londo should have had ambient music in the original game, would have helped it stand out even more (and be more lonely and unsettling after you shatter the illusion and the music is gone)
I usually turn game sound off anyway when I play video games, but dark souls was great in that regard, as it didn't have music in most spaces. I feel like adding music takes away so incredibly much from the atmosphere and I'm glad From Soft didn't do that back in the day.
The pick of shunning ground music for sen's fortress works well. The clanging sound matches the appearance of all the mechanical traps. But why did you go and touch the ash lake theme?!
Hey, nephew! First, thanks for watching! Believe or not, I didn't want to chance Ash Lake theme. I think it fits perfectly there. Gives that "holy", but also ominous vibe. But I swapped it because I wanted to cover all areas of the game and if I left the original there would be comment asking the opposite of yours. But I also knew that with this swapped theme someone would ask why. Also thanks to your comment I decided to reupload the video with a idea that I had of leaving comments on some segments explaining why I picked that music (I didn't because I was lazy, no excuse here). If you're interested, it should be uploaded in about 1-2 days.

Wow, until I saw the views I thought this has way more. Really good choice of music for each area
I love ambient music. Feels a bit more like King's Field with the music playing.
Shocked this doesn't have more views. Nice video.
There are more new content creators with better sensibilities. It represents the evolution of the craft of the layman's video creation.
Thanks, nephew!
My channel is quite small, so normally it doesn't have many viewers.

I think it would be more appropriate to play the ambient music with the enemies cleared. It sounds weird while you're in combat.
