    I know you get a million questions but just in case you're feeling extra helpful lol... I bought a 2014 Ram 2500 4wd chassis with coil springs front & rear. I want to convert to air bags & wondering if you have and advice on building my own vs buying a bolt on setup? Farfromstock rolling style bags are what I'm thinking for tons of range without it ridding harsh when I'm lifted. For hooking & unhooking trailers to dropping the 85 crewcab chevy body down low for a smoother ride & better aerodynamics.... since it's shaped like a beloved brick. Going to be building an 05 common rail cummins but for now run my Ppumped 24V with an Allison 1000 & Tcase. Love any advice on this, brand of bags, best shocks to run (tow rig) where is best to mount them & would internal bypass shocks be overkill ect. Was looking at different brackets at Barns 4wd & a few others. Would love to build a setup & have 14in of travel like FFS's kits! Any good books or rules on setting up a practical link suspension?

It's one of the "ugly ducklings" and that's ok. That is what makes it awesome now. Funny how that all works but it does. Chevy did the same thing with the Camaro. Even Cadillac went crazy.. For what its worth, 125 wall tube is plenty strong for the biggest of vehicles under compression. When the open ends are restricted in movement (if welded to a flange), you could easily suspend the full weight of the car on one cup. The failure mode would be if they get dented from the side, then youre in trouble.
    Im sure you remember as kids we could stand on an empty coke can and it would support our weight... and thats just a coke can.

    The good part is the car is not just rusting away. It could have been a cool looking car, but the way you are going is not cool. But at least the bags can be inflated or replaced with springs.

    The mustang 2 (pinto same thing) is an under loved car. There is a good reason that front end is under most hot rods. I dig the hell out of this project. And am looking forward to following along

    Hey! Just got this channel suggested, didn't know about it. I was like "wait a minute, I recognize that feller!". You're Dave who used to hang out with Fred Williams! Good seeing you again!
    Isn't this a cool car, you ask. Well, it is! I think the problem with the Mustang II is that it's named Mustang, it turned out too much of a travesty, what the malaise era forced it to become. Just imagine a world where the Mustang had never been released in ´64 (oh, sweet heaven...) and it would have been launched in ´74 instead, people would LOVE it! Or, if the Mustang was discontinued after 1970 (please let's supress knowing of the ´71-´73 models) and this came out with another name, people would be like "hey, look at this new Ford model with hints of Mustang styling, it's so cool!" At least that's what I think. Maybe even todays disgusting electric crossover SUV or whatever it is would be accepted if it wasn't called a Mustang.
    Well, I'm done ranting. Nice to see you again, and keep up the good work!! Just one more thing, what about that Mercury in the background, are there videos on it?
    Thanks for uploading! Greetings from Sweden

    • @thedirtheadshed
      @thedirtheadshed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Greetings! I agree. This is a hated and misunderstood car, but it served its purpose at the time. Now after all these years it’s just a cool piece of history that will continue on with my idea of cool modifications. There is a quick walk around of the mercury under the project vehicles

      @andreasbenning ปีที่แล้ว
