Weld washers on everything. Wallered out holes are a pain. I only run about 80 amps and use .065 filler rod. Learned that setup from the best welder I know.
39:11 is a cool truck, it is a 2022 7.3 super duty with 1972 f250 body. i just saw a walk-around on the channel ford era (i am not affiliated with this truck or channel, just thought it was cool) i think the guys that made it are "Jack'd UP Trucks"
Watching the diff work was fun but also gave me flashbacks. Just had to do the diff on my Raptor due to a bad pinion bearing. I wish it was as simple as a video transition!

Mine took about a week to complete but that was tearing into it, seeing what I needed and then getting it and putting It back together. Finally have fitting bearings for ford 9.75.
The guy who taught me how to TIG weld always said to first get comfortable. I’d ask him how I look and he asked me if I was comfortable. That is the key.

I'm the guy that worked with your wife and was trying to get you insurance for your shop and the company said no....dummies..lol. You turned me on to watching Fred on DED and I became a huge fan. Thumb control on the torch is a game changer, you’ll be welding upside down and inside out with ease(ier)you can spend a lot or a harbor freight on one and it’ll come with a smaller cup too.

Almost seems like the housing on that rear diff is bent. Would not be the first F250 that a previous owner overloaded and had no idea they did damage. Oh and your TIG welds are just fine, you are just comparing them to the gold you lay down with the MIG. Great work! Baller rig!
Have you seen the guys on YT that are building a 4 valve v10? It’s crazy awesome. I’m a v10 fan, my excursion tow rig has almost 300k on it. Most reliable rig I’ve ever owned.
Dave, love watching your fab work & builds over the years. An observation from the bleachers…. If you experience some twist in your rear control arms while out wheeling, consider this design change. An enclosed shape (4-sided square, rectangle, or tube) resists twist better than an open channel (3-sided) of equivalent wall thickness. Think twisty OE stamped front & rear control arms. If you were to mount the shock above the CA using heavy-duty tabs on each side of the box, you’d have a link much more resistant to twist. Twisting may have been why the original shock bent. Think Pre-Runners & SCORE race trucks.
It’s not the metal that is twisting. I have Jonny joint style rode ends front and rear. I just need to make some wobble stoppers for the frame side rod end.

Did crap get into the wheel bearings from going down the axle tube? Maybe thats where the noise is coming from? Definately let us know when you find out! I love louis v10! "Big production" wouldn't have included the weld in washers, but i appreciate you showing them. Big time editors put 10 minutes of grinder sparks because they want to be all artsy fartsy i guess? Great build and rebuild Dave 👍 Although the real Ultimate Adventure is only using the 1 minute Permatex "The Right Stuff" gasket maker for any and all sealing jobs! 😂 (I think I've scraped off as much of the 1 minute as I've successfully installed before it started setting up... Usually because instead of wasting half an hour to go buy a tube of 90 minute that either set up or I ran out of, I'll spend half a day wasting all my 1 minute, then go buy some 90 minute anyway, so that way when I REALLY need the 1 minute I only have the 90, which may be no good by that point because I usually lose the cap or don't plug the tubes... Now just reverse those two products and that's basically how I do every project... )🤔🤣👍

I am looking forward to getting the Accutune Fox coilovers I have on my project. I think what Accutune offers is awesome. For the same price as other retailers they will re-valve your shock to suit your application, instead of using off the shelf valving. The valving really should be tuned based on weight and spring rate and Accutune basically does that for free. They let you select different ride characteristics so you can have a comfortable ride, or a ride more tailored for performance. Dave, have you ever tried balance beads in big tires like this? My tire guy couldn't get my 37's balanced with weights so he put beads in them. My truck isn't ready yet so I have no idea if they will work.

I’ve seen the original version of the cable locker become inoperable…. I guess the new version and air actuator works well
Just by building it the way you want and like, I guarantee the quality is better than half the SEMA builds. And it's functional to boot

Dave, have you ever tried balance beads in big tires like this? My tire guy couldn't get my 37's balanced with weights so he put beads in them. My truck isn't ready yet so I have no idea if they will work.
I agree 100 percent. AccuTune is a hidden gem. These rears are dialed in now. I have yet to see balance beads work
Hey Dave your hood light looked a little glitchy when you closed it. Maybe that's you power drain.
It shuts off. I have triple checked. The battery ended up being bad. Had to get a new one on the drive home
