Dude the old bug where the dungeon would become the entire underground would just game end you (may be exaggerating from childhood bias but I hated going near the edges for that reason
Started playing this year in January. Corruptors and clingers scared me since I used outdated info ("corruptors spread corruption thru vile spit") They were also just crazy hard to deal with, even with the Obsidian shield
First time I ever stumbled upon the corruption biome, the music, trees, sudden light drop and overall ambiance scared me a bit, not gonna lie. I hesitated quite a few times before really going in that biome, and I farmed for so long ; these days were the days of discovering Terraria, when I crafted one armor set after another, as if I was forced to do so lol. Loved those days, still love terraria : amazing content, and when it's over... MODS, damn it !
This is so nostalgic, I remember being so young and clueless when playing this game for the first time and how much I loved it, thank you for reminding me of the great times I had back then❤️❤️❤️
Oh wow a Garuda, first time seeing one in the wild. Don't really like her kit. Damage takes too long to set up with the whole absorb damage to actually do damage unless you siphon your energy bar into that orb thing and for max damage you need to cast your 4 in advance. Her 2 is decent survivability cucked by limited range and her 3 is just waiting for you to accidentally activate it instead of your 2. Energy isn't hard to come by, and it's not worth sacrificing your health for it. The talons are stupid powerful tho
Angel statues used to and still do spawn in a chest or in the world when the game encounters a bug. As the game developed less and less bugs needed to use this hotfix, however it is still there if you switch mods on a world or what have you. Back then it was usually when items got entangled in a slot. However there was also just a chance of them spawning in chests or around the world as a dr. Who joke about angel statues being everywhere
I remember a lot of this! I took a break from terraria for a bit and came back after the update that makes you break wood with a Pickaxe, and I remember being SO confused when I made my house 😂
Wow, so I was 19 when Terraria came out. I didn’t start playing Terraria until 2015 though. This is pretty cool. Awesome how far the game has come and 1.4 came out at the best time.. during quarantine 🙃
The whole game looks darker colder and more claustrophobic than the game I am used too, not that I think that's a bad thing in any way, the colder part probably coming from the lack of bunnies and such.

The Angel Statues were a replacement for the developer weapon "The Zapinator", which was a really powerful ranged weapon, (although not by today's endgame standards). When the game went out of beta, the Zapinator was removed, and the Angel Statue got its item ID, replacing all existing Zapinators with useless statues.

It seems weird to me that the devs would take such a weird route, especially considering they did NOT remove the gun from the game yet, the zapinator was only removed in the 1.0.1 patch. it would have made a lot more since to spawn with the gun, instead of ruining the loot pools and leaving them ruined. (I hope you guys are not confusing the fact that zappinators where turned into angel statues to destroy the hacked in ones. which had nothing to do with angel statues in chests. )

I remember breaking heart crystals with a hammer, whenever I start playing terraria after a long break I always try to break them with a hammer for the first few hours. Also those old sky islands are brilliant, I forgot about them completely.

I remember how hype 1.1 was back when it came out. It was said to be the final update back then, and it was sad. But of course, eventually 1.2 and then 1.3 came out years later.

What got me bummed was that when I became too comfortable with the game, after I defeated the 3 mech bosses I decided to fight ocram in which I didn’t think I would win against but I used the floating islands to block all those crazy lasers and eventually I defeated him....farmed him for the dragon armor since i wasn’t a fan of the mage class back then
and here's me playing 1.1 terraria still on my ipod touch because theres no more updatese for that version. still haven't beaten wall of flesh even though i have the best pre-hardmode gear :( (a.k.a. im trash at the game on mobile)
wish i could go back to 1.1 it was one of my favourite updates but heres a tip for wof: build a hellbridge use buffs and use the minishark or the water bolt they are really effective against it oh yeah and if you can on that version try craft the sharanga (thats if you have the exclusive stuff on there)
Seeing *Ancient Terraria* as I call it in 1920x1080 is weird... They need to make a Terraria Mod DLC on steam called Terraria Classic which you can play a remastered but more fixed version of the first version of Terraria.
AHH this is so nostalgic.... I got terraria the moment it came out and played it all day every day for a couple of months, then took a break for a year or two and everything was so DIFFERENT.. I wish I could play the first version again

@@haribo_42 You can still get the original sun by wearing sunglasses. I forgot to mention the HUD always said "Items" instead of item name, you had to use axe to mine placed wood and hammer to grab chests and life crystals. EDIT: Holy crap, you could use normal torch underwater!
I honestly miss the old floating islands. Really loved their look. The clouds are nice, but The old ones look more like what you see in many other depictions, especially with the vines hanging down. Sadly, I could never get used to not being able to walk up one step and play 1.0/1.1 again.
I remember farming lenses for multiple nights in the old gen console version of Terraria(thats what i started playing on), for a suspicios looking eye, only to fail at beating the eye lol

and here's me playing 1.1 terraria still on my ipod touch because theres no more updatese for that version. still haven't beaten wall of flesh even though i have the best pre-hardmode gear :( (a.k.a. im trash at the game on mobile)

wish i could go back to 1.1 it was one of my favourite updates but heres a tip for wof: build a hellbridge use buffs and use the minishark or the water bolt they are really effective against it oh yeah and if you can on that version try craft the sharanga (thats if you have the exclusive stuff on there)

Seeing *Ancient Terraria* as I call it in 1920x1080 is weird...
They need to make a Terraria Mod DLC on steam called Terraria Classic which you can play a remastered but more fixed version of the first version of Terraria.

AHH this is so nostalgic.... I got terraria the moment it came out and played it all day every day for a couple of months, then took a break for a year or two and everything was so DIFFERENT.. I wish I could play the first version again

Not everyone has money to spend on a pc. Plus anyone who has characters on console would have to do all that work again

A lot of very small visual changes are different now. So it really does feel weird.
@@alevanderBatman The most noticeable are the sun, backgrounds (especially corruption yellow sky and rocky hell background) and different textures

@@haribo_42 You can still get the original sun by wearing sunglasses. I forgot to mention the HUD always said "Items" instead of item name, you had to use axe to mine placed wood and hammer to grab chests and life crystals.
EDIT: Holy crap, you could use normal torch underwater!

I honestly miss the old floating islands. Really loved their look. The clouds are nice, but The old ones look more like what you see in many other depictions, especially with the vines hanging down.
Sadly, I could never get used to not being able to walk up one step and play 1.0/1.1 again.

I managed to do a perfect combo with my Shiny Red Balloon, Cloud in a bottle and Spectre Boots to reach a Sky Island.
Boy were the old worlds so small
I remember farming lenses for multiple nights in the old gen console version of Terraria(thats what i started playing on), for a suspicios looking eye, only to fail at beating the eye lol
