My favorite part about 1.1 was probably the introduction to hardmode. That feeling when you beat the "final" boss WOF and then an ominous message appears in the corner. Man I can't describe it!
Actually my first version was 1.1, and i loved all those times, when hardmode was just introduced and hallowed armor was the best, and you had to combine all the other hardmode sets to make it. Good times.

I played 1.1 back when it released, and to this day, my favorite feature has to be wings! After the nerf to rocket boots, it was really nice to have a more sustainable form of flight, since you couldn't just chug mana pots with rocket boots on anymore.
I remember playing on my grandmas computer when molten armor was still the best,hard mode was a thing of mystical dreams and to see how far this game has come is breathtaking
My favorite change in 1.1 was hardmode. It just felt so good to have more to do. Every large update has given so much depth to the game. 1.0 felt like a hobby game not really made to be considered a polished release. 1.1 changed that feeling for me.

yes, the 3% extra crit chance isn't all that good, but the extra knockback can be a lifesaver, for just 1 less damage - it was clearly the right choice
I started playing this game at 1.1. I was around six, so I've been playing this game literally as long as I can really remember, and I'll never forget how my friend gave me some iron armor and spawned the wall of flesh. That was my first experience with the game, and it was on mobile. Now I have well over 2000 hours in the game covering mobile, PS3, PS4, and pc. This game has been important to me my whole life, and this video made me really happy and I was smiling like the giddy child I was when I started this game. Thank you for making this video. It made my day :)
I've only started playing tarraria within the last few months, but before that I used to play it on my Kindle fire and this was the the only version I knew about😂😂
The feeling of beating the wall of flesh and activating hardmode for the first time was definitely my favourite part of 1.1 just the sheer amount that the game changes and throws at you is so refreshing and awesome.
I've played Terraria since at least 1.0.3 and my favorite thing in Terraria 1.1 was the Hamdrax. Just the power of hammer, drill and axe in the same tool was so cool to me. Remember this was 1.1 and hammer was still used to break things like shadow orbs, life crystals and platforms.
It always confuses me whenever I see TH-camrs slowly dragging items into their inventory instead of clicking 'loot all'. Is there an actual reason for you doing this?
For inventory management: at full inventory, loot all doesn't really work. Also, By dragging, you can put coins straight into coin slots and accessories into accesory slots. Loot all doesn't do that. You'll get it as you get more full inventories
Its to show the people watching what loot they got in the chest. If the youtuber did loot all you might not see what they got and be confused later wondering how the got items from thin air.
Oh man, this brings back memories of me playing 1.1. Although I had heard of Terraria sometime before the 1.1 update, I think I first heard about it between August-November 2011, I only started playing in May of 2012... with a cracked version sadly, since I couldn't afford the game. I later got the legal version, courtesy of a friend of mine. Eternally grateful for that gift. I remember how much of a noob I used to be even though I inventory edited myself to have the strongest possible stats of 1.1 lol. I remember getting mauled to death by a Unicorn right after entering Hardmode, expecting them to be harmless creatures. They weren't. Years have gone by, and I realised just how weird 1.1 really was in comparison to later updates. While I never played 1.0, from the looks of it, it at least felt like an end goal had been accomplished, while with 1.1, while there is a newer endgame, it still felt like something was missing. Thank god Redigit returned to the game in 2013, I just can't imagine playing 1.1.2 for all eternity. Also damn... it's been 9 years already. So much has changed for me in that time period. I may not realise it but this game shaped up a good chunk of the 2010s for me.

Nostalgia hit me like playing Xbox 360 days of terraria, no griefing, more pranking, more exploring. Who remembers when you had to hack in dev stuff and red wings let you fly forever, then some guy was able to hack in an sdmg that no one knew came from, well know we know.
I actually miss having just Drills and Chainsaws and Repeaters during Hardmode. I don't mind the pickaxes, but I think the shift from Pickaxes to Drills as the game world changes was really really cool. Because it felt so different, like the world just got more serious. And your gear got more serious too
Me: goes crate fishing and dupes the crates to get full titanium, make an artificial underground mushroom biome, then get 2 truffle worms to fight duke fishron using the dummy glitch, at some point already having the Daedalus stormbow and holy arrows, fight duke without them bc they ruined the glitch, kill him twice, dupe his bag, get tsunami, break demon altars, fight destroyer
Thank you for brining me on this nostalgia trip! (And the 1.0 one, but that one was not as strong as i had started at 1.0 and not 1.0.3) I still remember that amazing feeling when I finally got my first wings after farming for a LONG time. Getting souls was such a chore. Wings and backgrounds, I think those two features were what defined 1.1 the most to me, apart from hardmode of course. I remembered so many things. Back when 1.1 was new I did the bosses destroyer, then twins and then Skeletron prime and that was how I felt their difficulty progression was. And then once I had finally beaten all the new bosses, the moment of truth when I could craft the ultiamte item, the Hamdrax! And the one I forged was Godly, which is the best modifiers it could get! I felt like the game itself had approved my efforts. Good times...
I remember when the Golem was end game boss and I used to play the game on mobile with my older brothers and we didn't know what heart crystals did. Those were the days
1.1 was the first version of Terraria I played on xbox 360, and I vividly remember being late to school once because I beat the destroyer and it dropped its loot underground (since it used to drop from its head, but now it drops from the segment closest to the player). I spent 10 minutes looking for it, and was 10 minutes late. great video chippy!!

History lesson: A few months after 1.1 was released Re-Logic ported Terraria to Consoles. Via PlayStation Now, and the Xbox Live Arcade (those names alone are nostolgic in a way even if they weren't that long ago) PC owners didn't take this well. As 1.1 fixed alot of bugs but also brought a LOT more to the table. They saw this as Relogic having a cash grab. A few months later Relogic came back to Terraria, fixed some bugs and promised one more update because of the inconveniences. Which would be 1.2
I remember playing 1.1 for the first time with my friend back in the day. Really challenging since we were both extra noobs and we didnt want to watch online guides too much since we wanted to discover things by ourselves and the skeletron fight was the one that i rememberd really well. We were both "underequiped" and it was our probably 5th attempt, the battle was hard and both of us aswell as skeletron were low on health... low on arrows and no potions Skeletron charges for the last time and as we say our prayers and accept deaths embrace in the distance we hear it "phew phew phew"... yes falling star just foken slaps skeletron baldass head and we emerge victorious. ahhhh good times
This is the version that I started playing terraria. I remember my first house made of candy cane blocks, because of the Christmas event. My first time defeating wall of flesh after dying once, but with a long enough hell bridge to rush back to hell to finish off the wall. Getting the Excalibur and Hamdrax, when they took the cobalt, mythril, and adamantite sword/drill/chainsaw. Making a pearlstone brick castle for all 10 NPCs in the game and my crafting station. Damn, that was amazing.
I started on version 1.1.2, got it for Christmas. Used to play it a lot with my step brother but dropped off because I had a bad pc, got back into the pc version in the 1.3.5 and 1.4 update though and have just recently started dipping my toes into modded. Easily my second favourite game. This vid brought back a massive wave of nostalgia. Thank you :)

Same. I would always fight the Twins with my sister and we would separate super far and one of us would use a magic mirrow and one eye would despawn.

yes, the 3% extra crit chance isn't all that good, but the extra knockback can be a lifesaver, for just 1 less damage - it was clearly the right choice

I started playing this game at 1.1. I was around six, so I've been playing this game literally as long as I can really remember, and I'll never forget how my friend gave me some iron armor and spawned the wall of flesh. That was my first experience with the game, and it was on mobile. Now I have well over 2000 hours in the game covering mobile, PS3, PS4, and pc. This game has been important to me my whole life, and this video made me really happy and I was smiling like the giddy child I was when I started this game. Thank you for making this video. It made my day :)
I've only started playing tarraria within the last few months, but before that I used to play it on my Kindle fire and this was the the only version I knew about😂😂

The feeling of beating the wall of flesh and activating hardmode for the first time was definitely my favourite part of 1.1 just the sheer amount that the game changes and throws at you is so refreshing and awesome.
I've played Terraria since at least 1.0.3 and my favorite thing in Terraria 1.1 was the Hamdrax.
Just the power of hammer, drill and axe in the same tool was so cool to me. Remember this was 1.1 and hammer was still used to break things like shadow orbs, life crystals and platforms.

It always confuses me whenever I see TH-camrs slowly dragging items into their inventory instead of clicking 'loot all'. Is there an actual reason for you doing this?
Maybe to organize them? Idk
For inventory management: at full inventory, loot all doesn't really work. Also, By dragging, you can put coins straight into coin slots and accessories into accesory slots. Loot all doesn't do that. You'll get it as you get more full inventories

Its to show the people watching what loot they got in the chest. If the youtuber did loot all you might not see what they got and be confused later wondering how the got items from thin air.
Oh man, this brings back memories of me playing 1.1. Although I had heard of Terraria sometime before the 1.1 update, I think I first heard about it between August-November 2011, I only started playing in May of 2012... with a cracked version sadly, since I couldn't afford the game. I later got the legal version, courtesy of a friend of mine. Eternally grateful for that gift.
I remember how much of a noob I used to be even though I inventory edited myself to have the strongest possible stats of 1.1 lol. I remember getting mauled to death by a Unicorn right after entering Hardmode, expecting them to be harmless creatures. They weren't.
Years have gone by, and I realised just how weird 1.1 really was in comparison to later updates. While I never played 1.0, from the looks of it, it at least felt like an end goal had been accomplished, while with 1.1, while there is a newer endgame, it still felt like something was missing. Thank god Redigit returned to the game in 2013, I just can't imagine playing 1.1.2 for all eternity.
Also damn... it's been 9 years already. So much has changed for me in that time period. I may not realise it but this game shaped up a good chunk of the 2010s for me.

Nostalgia hit me like playing Xbox 360 days of terraria, no griefing, more pranking, more exploring. Who remembers when you had to hack in dev stuff and red wings let you fly forever, then some guy was able to hack in an sdmg that no one knew came from, well know we know.
I actually miss having just Drills and Chainsaws and Repeaters during Hardmode. I don't mind the pickaxes, but I think the shift from Pickaxes to Drills as the game world changes was really really cool. Because it felt so different, like the world just got more serious. And your gear got more serious too

I still remember that amazing feeling when I finally got my first wings after farming for a LONG time. Getting souls was such a chore.
Wings and backgrounds, I think those two features were what defined 1.1 the most to me, apart from hardmode of course.
I remembered so many things. Back when 1.1 was new I did the bosses destroyer, then twins and then Skeletron prime and that was how I felt their difficulty progression was.
And then once I had finally beaten all the new bosses, the moment of truth when I could craft the ultiamte item, the Hamdrax! And the one I forged was Godly, which is the best modifiers it could get! I felt like the game itself had approved my efforts. Good times...
I'm glad to know that every update to terraria has been the promised, "Last Update." Really puts this next "Last Update" into perspective.

1.1 was the first version of Terraria I played on xbox 360, and I vividly remember being late to school once because I beat the destroyer and it dropped its loot underground (since it used to drop from its head, but now it drops from the segment closest to the player). I spent 10 minutes looking for it, and was 10 minutes late. great video chippy!!

History lesson: A few months after 1.1 was released Re-Logic ported Terraria to Consoles. Via PlayStation Now, and the Xbox Live Arcade (those names alone are nostolgic in a way even if they weren't that long ago)
PC owners didn't take this well. As 1.1 fixed alot of bugs but also brought a LOT more to the table. They saw this as Relogic having a cash grab. A few months later Relogic came back to Terraria, fixed some bugs and promised one more update because of the inconveniences. Which would be 1.2
Goblin Tinkerer was my favorite. Things now having stats on them and being able to reforge them to what I wanted was HUGE! Keep up the great work!

I remember playing 1.1 for the first time with my friend back in the day. Really challenging since we were both extra noobs and we didnt want to watch online guides too much since we wanted to discover things by ourselves and the skeletron fight was the one that i rememberd really well. We were both "underequiped" and it was our probably 5th attempt, the battle was hard and both of us aswell as skeletron were low on health... low on arrows and no potions Skeletron charges for the last time and as we say our prayers and accept deaths embrace in the distance we hear it "phew phew phew"... yes falling star just foken slaps skeletron baldass head and we emerge victorious. ahhhh good times

This is the version that I started playing terraria.
I remember my first house made of candy cane blocks, because of the Christmas event.
My first time defeating wall of flesh after dying once, but with a long enough hell bridge to rush back to hell to finish off the wall.
Getting the Excalibur and Hamdrax, when they took the cobalt, mythril, and adamantite sword/drill/chainsaw.
Making a pearlstone brick castle for all 10 NPCs in the game and my crafting station.
Damn, that was amazing.

I started on version 1.1.2, got it for Christmas. Used to play it a lot with my step brother but dropped off because I had a bad pc, got back into the pc version in the 1.3.5 and 1.4 update though and have just recently started dipping my toes into modded.
