Great Review, well said of the shoe. I invested in a pair to replace my old ua speedfit 2.0, one that I used for hiking and light trail running. I took them out for a light trail and surely I agree with your statements. Thanks again
Found it on Poizon just for ~$55 my size, started looking for reviews and found your video. So which other alternatives could you recommend? I mostly wanted to pick another trail running shoe for rotation. I'm running different types of trails, from basic 10k, to some kind of technical 30 or moderate 40k.
Sounds like you got a great deal! I think this would be a great shoe for those more rugged and technical outings (In training not racing). The shoe might be a little heavy for racing IMO. Some of the other shoes that I've really enjoyed lately include the Topo MTN Racer 3, Salomon Genesis, and VJ MAXx2.
Wow, you’ve got some amazing places to run! The mountain trails are still one deep in snow (mostly ice right now), but soon they’ll be great again. Interesting shoe. Seems like UA tried to hit to broad a market. Perhaps if they’d focused on just hiking or just running, the frailties of the shoe might have been overcome. Either way, I think you hit the nail: at that price, too many competitive options. Have a fantastic day!
They are not water resistant but they do well at dissipating any water that does get into the shoe. In the video I talked briefly about how it does in water and even show the shoe being submerged completely.
