- Cannbinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome or CHS is a growing concern among physicians and patients. CHS or cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome often develops after chronic usage of THC products.
There does seem to be a strong correlation between those using THC oil cartridges and this condition. If you have not viewed my previous video on cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome please watch that also.

As a person currently recovering from this syndrome, DO NOT BUY THC CARTIGES!! If you do and you are feeling sick, STOP! I have been dealing with this issue now for years and have not figured out what the issue was until recently. Since I was diagnosed, I have quit marijuana completely and ever since, I have been feeling more and more like a normal person every day. It is so difficult to not know what is wrong with your body and live every day like you are just existing trying to get through. You can't eat, you are constantly nauseous, you deal with constant abdominal pain, and at extreme points, you start losing a concerning amount of weight. Since I have quit THC (2 weeks ago), I notice that I have an astronomical improvement every day and I can finally eat full meals again. Hoping that this comment reaches someone who is helpless and just doesn't know what to do, because I have been in that situation. ER visits, doctor visits, etc. Hope this will help!
I needed this its my first day starting to quit and i really wanna gain weight im hoping I’m able to eat full meals again in two weeks
Day 6 for me and it literally feels like its getting worse. Went to the Er everything came back good. I smoked weed and the cartridge and black and mills and drunk liquor or spiked ice tea. My withdrawal is literally unbearable. Wifey had been on me and helping like crazy. I get very nervous and scared thinking I'm going to die. It's a process. Im good after the mornings but it doesn't feel good. I give Jesus Christ all the glory and honor. I must live for my wife and children, its not fair to them. Many blessings 🙏🏾❤

in Germany, the doctors do not know the syndrome. weed is illegal here, so this syndrome isn't really well known. I've been smoking for 15 years and have been suffering for about 3 years. I've been to the hospital at least 6 times and I've had all the tests with no results. i always thought the weed made my stomach bend and unknowingly made it all that much worse. My last blood test showed methadone. i have never used anything other than cannabis in my life. how does methadone get into my blood??? after the doctors saw that, they didn't believe me anymore and just pushed me out into the hallway. They thought I was a junky and from that point on they didn't have any sympathy anymore.. I'm currently lying in the bathtub because the only thing that helps me is the warmth and it's actually very good. since today i know what it is and i will never touch this cannabis again. nevertheless, the fact that methadone was detected in my blood does not leave me in peace. I swear to god I never knowingly touched anything like that.
CHS basically flips your life inside out. I'm on my second round with CHS at the moment. The first round lasting a while 5 months before I could recover only due to the fact I kept smoking because it'd ease the pain and nausea while I had no idea that I was making it worse in the long run. No amount of emergency visits or doctor visits could tell me what was wrong with me, I finally figured it out with extensive research online. This second time round it's much milder as I quit as soon as I woke up with nausea a week ago. CHS has a terrible effect on both physical and mental wellbeing and it extremely hard to deal with.
I've had many break downs due to being in my own head about me doing this to myself AGAIN, but i've now clearly learned my lesson and will likely never smoke again in my life.
I send so much love and hope to anyone going through CHS as it's extremely fucking hard to cope with. Stay strong guys, I usually cant.
I’ve had it 6 or 7 times now. I don’t know what to do. I’m so unhappy without weed and fall into deep depression states without it. I have thoughts that I would rather die than quit. There is something wrong with me for sure, In such a bad spot myself and can completely relate to you. I wish you the best .

I am so grateful that more light is being shed on this debilitating condition. Eerie how much of the same causes and effects I share with you all, especially using carts with high THC and other unknown toxins. Every time I try quitting I get exactly what you describe as CHS, I thought I was the only one. Thank you so much for this.
Anytime happy to help you out. Just get through it I promise its worth it.
Thank you for this video. Its genuinely nice to see a medical professional not only talking about chs but talking about your very own experience with it. I'm still on the fence about the validity of chs but this video helped me a lot to realize the potential severity of chs. Reading the comments and seeing others that didn't want to believe it either but tell their stories about their experiences helped a lot too. Signed, no longer a pot head.
I notice that you posted this a while ago so I'm curious whether you still have reservations regarding the validity of CHS.
The thing that convinced me was the fact that none of the anti-nausea medications provided any kind of relief and taking a hot shower did immediately. When I was in the ER (both times) they tried practically all of the traditional anti-nausea meds directly in my IV but it wasn't until they tried things like Ativan and Haldol that I was finally able to stop vomiting. (there is evidence that they both can be effective in treating CHS)
Anyway, all I'm saying is that if someone is an active user of marijuana and begins to vomit violently and unceasingly, then a pretty accurate litmus test for CHS might be to try traditional anti-nausea remedies and if they fail, a hot shower.
The longest I suffered was 4 days straight. 24hr a day nausea. I sit in the tub and hold the shower head very hot on back of my neck. Doesn’t stop it but it relieves you in a way I can’t really explain fully. Before being diagnosed I was treated like a junky at the hospital visits, I’m pale, brows crinkled, impatient, emotional. I did find that the more stress I was under the worse it was. Thank you for your knowledge. ☺️
Thank you so much for sharing your story!
@@AddictionMindset your welcome
How long after quitting did it go away?
@@yevgeniiboinegri6153 I have not quit smoking yet.
@@char3679 do you still suffer from it?
I was recently diagnosed with this and I have to say that for me, the term "nausea" didn't begin to cover what I was feeling. It was a burning ball of intense nausea located specifically at the top of my stomach (where you have a sphincter that keeps the food you have consumed from spilling back up into your throat). The urge to vomit was unceasing and although I was vomiting a dozen times an hour (or more) I never felt even a second of relief. If I wasn't actively vomiting I was actively holding back from doing so on every exhale. I could barely speak because I would begin violently vomiting again. I couldn't eat or drink anything. The best I could do was just wet my mouth with some flat ginger ale every once in a while. Of course with no food in my stomach I was just dry heaving until I began to vomit yellow bile and then green bile and then back to nothing. My throat was bleeding and I could get no sleep whatsoever. Personally, I am also on a lot of medication for my heart, thyroid, diabetes, blood pressure and bipolar disorder. Most of my meds (especially the psychiatric ones) warn against abruptly stopping them. So, on top of all of the fun of sleep deprivation and vomiting violently I was also withdrawing from my psych meds and felt constantly agitated and like I was going to vibrate out of my own skin. I ended up in the ER twice in one week and both times the doctors suspected CHS. I had a hard time believing this since I never used pot until 2 years ago when I got my medical marijuana card. And yes, I did vape daily it wasn't like it was all day. The doctors kept saying it only happens with prolonged excessive use (which is one reason I doubted them) Anyway, after that I didn't use it at all for just over a month at which point I assumed that all of it was out of my system and that I could probably use it lightly, maybe once or twice a month and be ok. So I took 4 hits off my vape pen and got a little high (just giggly, nothing extreme) and the whole thing started all over again! This time it didn't last as long (thank goodness!!) but the vomiting stage lasted about a day and a half, then a couple of days of healing, a day or two of being able to take a couple of bites of food at a time, one day of diarrhea (which I NEVER get) signals the end of the episode. Each of those stages lasted at least twice as long the first time I dealt with this about a month prior. One thing that one of the ER docs did mention was that even though I hadn't used pot for an extended period of time, I was using MEDICAL marijuana which is extremely potent and that could be why it affected me.
Sorry for the long post. My only real point was that every time someone describes it as "a little nausea" I want to go bat crap crazy because I went through a living hell that I was desperate to find any kind of reprieve from...and just couldn't. I was fantasizing about disemboweling myself so that I could literally cut out the source of my pain. Well, I WAS off my psych meds, so don't judge me too harshly! LOL!
EXACTLY! It’s the worst.
❤facts!! Scary af. Best wishes

@@HeyRussianCommissar Thanks! Yes, I'm completely fine now. There are days when I might be extra stressed over something and for a moment I miss being able to hit that vape pen and within a couple of minutes completely forget what I was stressed about, but the memory of my 3 bouts with CHS immediately reminds me that it's not at all worth it! FACTS! I like to just cut a piece off the root and just chew it.
The craziest thing is that WEED makes it worse. Whole time I thought it was alleviating it. IMO I believe starving “or fasting” from the hunger pain is what causes my abdominal pain to get worse. Sticking to veggies and fruits (especially blended) throughout the day every 2 hours helped me feel a little better. Those green drinks that they sell at the grocery stores is what helped me the most.
What drinks/brands were you using?
I have updated my stance on the “fasting” I agree with you on this.

my husband is currently going through an episode at the moment. Over the last 6-7 months he’s had around 3-4 terrifying episodes where all he does is throw up, take hot showers and drink any liquid he can find. He’s been smoking for the majority of his life I’d say….so what you’re saying makes sense. The episodes happen everytime when we had gone out in public too. I don’t know if anxiety/social anxiety has anything to do with it, but these episodes happen when we leave the house. He also craves cheeseburgers whenever he’s able to eat stuff (during the non CHS periods) but yeah. This all is just so mindblowing to me right now because I’ve been trying to do my own research while he’s having an episode now…and everything you said besides the muscle pain (maybe he has it though, not enough to complain though) makes soooo much sense. Seriously, this is great to learn. Thank you!!

People are constantly discounting my symptoms as not being caused by marijuana. Addiction is a constant struggle but knowing that my symptoms are real, have a name and are shared by others, makes it easier to acknowledge my addiction and reinforce that I need to abstain completely if I am going to live a healthy life mentally and physically.

@@PensacolaHvac did you quit both at the same time or one at a time ?
It's been 1 1/2 years since I was diagnosed and completely quit pot. I just noticed as I was reading some old comments that many people didn't realize that the anxiety was as bad or worse than the nausea and vomiting. I have no medical training whatsoever, but I tried to focus as much as I could on what I was feeling when I had my last bout of CHS, and I thought it might be helpful for some if I described my perception of what was going on in my body at the time.
1st of all, it's not just nausea, and for me it didn't get better in the afternoon. I was vomiting several times an hour, and when I wasn't actively vomiting I was holding back from vomiting. I can only describe the feeling as a burning ball of intense nausea that sat at the top of my stomach where that sphincter that's located at the top of our esophagus is.
Others have mentioned anxiety, which is definitely present, but I really feel that what we were feeling was not as simple as "anxiety". I truly feel that there was something going on in our nervous system. I noticed that all of my senses were heightened, but not in a good way. I couldn't tolerate even a little sound and light was very disturbing as well. I needed to wear an eye mask in bed all the time (I only got out of bed to shower anyway). My sense of touch was also heightened and I felt like I would vibrate right out of my skin! My sense of time was WAY off. There were times when I was sure at least an hour or more had passed and it had only been 5-10 minutes! And finally, this is kind of an embarrassing one, but I'm really curious if anyone else experienced this, you know how we can tolerate our own smells that would gross us out if they come from someone else? Like you walk into a bathroom after someone uses it, or even someone else's farts can make you gag, but for some reason your own don't? Well, it's like that phenomena is turned off during a bout with CHS. My own smells bothered me just as much as another person's. That kind of weirded me out.
Oh, here's a tip for those who may be experiencing this right now. Make sure you rinse your mouth with water after every time you vomit! I was in survival mode and could care less about dental hygiene when I was going through it, but after I had recovered I noticed my teeth had these tiny holes in them. Like someone had taken a teensy little drill and drilled holes in a bunch of my teeth. I went to the dentist and he told me that it was because of all of the acid in my mouth from the excessive vomiting and I needed SIXTEEN fillings to fix them! That was the cherry on top of the CHS shit sandwich!
I truly hope that something in my comment can help others out there, or at least give them comfort in knowing that they aren't alone and there is life on the other side of CHS!
This comment was so on point and everything you said I felt every single last detail praying for you. I pray all is well.

So life changing
So here is my story.
I got CHS in 2019, I only had one episode at this time and was told it was weed. I did quit, the voimit and truma was enough to quit after years of smoking.
But it didn't last.....
I the had a awful experience a year later, I went back to weed....hard.... in December the worst attack I've ever felt or even seen online.
I got sick for 6 weeks straight.....Non stop vomiting for 6 weeks.
I would drink litters of water just so I had something to throw up, sometimes it was chugging half a glass just to turn to throw up. I only slept by laying a towel down under my face and throw up until my stomach was empty and then lay there as I dry heaved until I passed out from exhaustion. I lost weight, I sucked on oranges and apples for their juice. In fact all I had was juice, trying to get it's nutritions into me.
I honestly would have died if I was not Canadian. I know ER trips are expensive in the US, but here I went in and was severely dehydrated. They took care of me and give me some relief, but after 6 or so hours from ER it would reform and I was sick again. I had to go to the ER twice in my 6 weeks.
Honestly it was awful and traumatizing. I honestly felt like I was dying, I remember being so dehydrated and sick that I started to collapse when getting out of my hot shower (I went to the ER after).
P.s. want a nice tip that worked for me during my attacks? Slurpees (ice chips with sugar suryp), it's cold so it feels relaxing going down your over used throat, it's surgery and sweet meaning you want to drink it and that's great as water would become repulsive. And on the gross note, it's suger water..... it doesn't taste as bad as water and bile coming back up.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story! How are you doing now days!? Have you improved

@@elaboratelime5617 Thats so true about CHS. Very glad to hear you are doing well.
This information needs to be shared more. Thank you for making this video.
I am so happy I came across your video. I’m a near-daily smoker, but usually no more than 1/2 j’s in the evening. Throughout the last year, I would have times when I’d smoke my weed and start feeling weak in the knees. It was weird, but I didn’t think it was connected to weed even though it only happened when I smoked. I’d also occasionally have days when I would feel extremely nauseous post-joint when going to sleep, but thankfully it never came to actually throwing up. Recently though, the weakness/tremors along with anxiety started happening around 20% of the time I smoked. I ignored it for a little bit, but I’ve been wanting to take a tolerance break for a while anyway, so I quit right after new year’s. Then, in a random conversation about why I quit (I’d never told anyone about the symptoms before) I stumbled upon chs, and I was in utter shock. Finally, I had an explanation to what I was going through.
I decided that while I won’t quit for life as I love it too much, I’m going to not smoke at all for at least 3 months, and after that, limit my usage to VERY occasionally, and in small doses while also monitoring if I feel any symptoms.
My withdrawals are mostly sleep-related, but I’m somewhat used to it as I had sleep issues anyways even on weed. I can sleep for a solid 8 + hours, but it is difficult to fall asleep and my sleep schedule is very chaotic. I can eat and drink as usual, which I’m very thankful for. I wanted to try smoking CBD since I figured it’d help relax my restless legs, but then I came across your advice of not consuming any cannabis while recovering, and realized that it’s best to follow it. I smoked CBD a few days ago, and while I felt ok in the moment, I felt nauseous for the entirety of the next day, and was finding it very difficult (although not impossible) to eat anything. Before this video, I blamed it on the fact that I’d barely slept that night and also that I’d caught a cold, as I’m sick with a headache and sore throat. Only after watching your video and reading through the comments did I realize that what I was feeling was exactly what so many people describe going through when recovering from chs, and that most likely, the cbd triggered it (possibly combined with the lack of sleep and sickness), since I haven’t had this type of nausea before. So now I understand that it’s best to quit any type of marijuana for a while, and to be very cautious with it whenever I try it again.
I realize that I’m super lucky to have stopped when I did, as it was only getting worse and I would have most likely ended up in the hospital in the near future.
Thank you for putting this information out there, and to anyone going through this, stay strong 💪🏽

Should have watched this video before I left a whole essay on another one of your videos🤦♂️ this definitely answered some of my questions thank you
My first round with CHS, I didn’t believe anybody when they told me what was going on at the ER. I was incredibly sick, severe abdominal pain and consistent vomiting every 15 minutes for about a week straight. It took me two weeks to be able to eat soft foods and I spent four days in the hospital. I lost 20 pounds, which is very bad for me because I went down to 108 pounds at 5 foot eight. I thought it must’ve been something else or I caught a very bad stomach bug, I started smoking almost immediately after I got back from the hospital to try and alleviate everything that was going on. About five months past of me smoking consistently from the moment I woke up until the moment I went to sleep every single day of the week, and then it happened again. I woke up in the morning and started puking and it just wouldn’t stop. I was getting really scared that this was happening again like the first time because I hadn’t stopped vomiting for about two days at this point. I went back to the ER and was kept there for another 3 to 4 days. My potassium fell so low that I almost had a heart attack and I was suffering from metabolic acidosis being that there was nothing left to digest in my body. I was extremely miserable and vulnerable at this point. I started researching CHS more because I didn’t know what else was wrong. All the test came back negative for any other thing that could’ve went wrong with me. I started finding other people with the same symptoms and timeline, which was an extreme eye opener. I quit completely for 2 months straight. Now, I do still smoke every now and then, one puff maybe once or twice a month from a joint that my friends pass around, and haven’t felt sick thankfully! 5 months no symptoms !

@@AddictionMindset day number 2 and I think it's getting a little better already. One of my biggest fears was the insomnia. But I kinda slept like a baby last night. Hi 😇 I made a video on my channel about my story with CHS. I even vlogged when I randomly got sick (as CHS flair ups are random!) I quit smoking 2 years ago. I haven’t gotten sick since. I officially quit in May of 2020 & I spent the summer (June ‘20, July ‘20, August ‘20) getting sick, not having an appetite & loosing a lot of weight.
I promise, after quitting surround yourself with HELPFUL, SUPPORTIVE people for the next 3 months. They are hard 3 months - but once they are over, you get your life back. You have to deal with WHY u always felt like u needed to be high, substitute weed for another healthier coping mechanism. You are so much stronger than your addiction & CHS. Best of luck to everyone !!!

I was diagnosed with CHS when i was 16 i ignored the diagnosis because it felt like weed was helping me stay out of the emergency room prior to this i had been throwing up for two years strait everyday having started smoking when i was about 13 for my severe social anxiety it became an addiction that slowly took over my love, social, and educational life although i could talk to people when i smoked i still had barely any friends and my mental, Financial, and physical health took a turn for the worse so the costs outweighed the benefits suddenly i found myself pregnant at 17 finally realizing the doctor was right and that i had to quit although having tried i decided no baby was gonna be able to survive on the ten calories and maybe a ounce of water a day so i continued to use weed up to 20 weeks about half of full term i quit five days ago by finding you, researching, watching, and trying the foods and methods that you and those in the comments section used to help the get back to normal so after eating protein powder peanut butter(because i cant to the famous blueberry shake yet), dill pickles, and ginger root tea (thanks to someone in the coments) ive been able to eat cereal something small to others but something i probably would have never been able to do in weeks or months if i hadnt watched this channel and i just found out the baby boy is huge and healthy with a super low chance of down syndrome and brain abnormalities im so freaking happy i can eat again and excided to see how my baby turns out knowing that i was able to healthily quit thanks to you... something i noticed thats i didnt see mentioned that ive experience with chs is change in taste without weed, now that ive quit there are certain flavors and smells that i haven't regained sense of and everything thats not normal tastes and smells like soggy Doritos in a bad way i dont know if anyone else has experience this so if theres any ideas that could help me regain the right taste of certain carbs please reply or email me at jesslycar@gmail.com
Thank you for this. My daughter is currently in the recovery phase from chs. It started in June with trips to the er & then she stopped smoking for about a week, she was slowly getting better. She went to Michigan with family over the 4th of July weekend and she smoked there & the vomiting started again but with very severe with abdominal pain, blurred vision, blood sugar very low, barely eating, getting full off 2-3 bites of food or just sips of liquids. More trips to er, more iv's, capsaicin cream, zofran, bentyl. She stopped smoking cold Turkey and is getting better, as of today, no abdominal pains, no throwing up in 3 1/2 weeks! Her appetite is back. My question is can chs, cannabis use cause gut/digestion issues? I noticed she's belching alot and a bit constipated.
yes chs is the cause of vomiting and belching !!
smoking makes you dehydrated and it hits all at once when you quit. from my brief research it also affects your gastric system ability to facilitate acid build up release in the stomach.

i trully believe there's a corelation with the power of the weed. the THC content. if we wanna smoke all day long, we should smoke soft weed (under 10% THC). if we smoke only once a day, you can smoke few hits on a strong weed (at 25/30%). i feel like this condition is due to a kind of THC "overdose". as THC is not straight lethal, it makes you sick instead.
a Heroin overdose you don't feel it coming. you just fall in sleep and die. which is not the cas for cannabis. therefore, to prevent you from going further, the body gets sick. it's just an alarm.
when i got it, i simply stopped strong weed and went to CBD weed 2 or 3 times a day (lil bowl for a small hit). and it worked for me. so i don't agree with the dude in this video. CBD worked for me. i'm 38 and smoked since i was 13.
to tell you what my symptoms were, it was like my arms and legs were blocking. i couldn't swim 30 meters or lifting anything on a short distance without having my muscles to lock. like a big cramp but not the same type of cramp. not the same pain. as well as nausea pretty much all day long.
there's a proverb that says "the difference between a drug and a poison is the dosage". we are made to have a relation with cannabinoids as we have the receptors. but we just have to find our limit before we get sick.
we can do surgeries and treat high level of pain with Heroin/Morphin. but it kills easily. with cannabinoids we can find a sweet spot. once you fully recovered from this condition there's still a place for it if you like it. you just need to find the right dosage for you. that's really all.
personally i smoke CBD 2/3 times a day and i smoke THC weed once a week to feed my receptors. since i understood that i feel great! all about the dosage. cheers
I developed CHS after about a year of daily use. I have never used illegal drugs or used marijuana recreationally. I obtained my medical marijuana license because I was in a severe car accident and I didn't want to get hooked on opiates for my severe pain. I thought at first maybe it was the carts, so I stopped all THC concentrate use and went to only flower. It took longer for the symptoms to appear, but eventually the stomach pain, nausea and vomiting returned. And the mental side effects were just as horrible. The anxiety I experienced was borderline psychosis.

Do not take any type of marijuana product, wether its cbd, thc-0, delta-8, or edibles. Trust me, you might feel okay now but as soon as your body had enough, the symptoms will come back.
This happened to me in January and there are early signs for CHS. For a good month or 2 you’ll start waking up without an appetite and will feel gross. After a month continuing using (I was using cartridges), I started violently throwing non stop and decided to go to the hospital where they told me it’s CHS. I was so sore and exhausted for a week cuz of how much I’ve threw up. So if you have that early sign for CHS, I’d suggest take a break for a couple weeks and see how you feel after

I almost died from CHS. I was vomiting for 5 days straight before I finally went to the ER. I lost 15 to 20 pounds in a week and my potassium levels were so low that my kidneys were on the verge of shutting down. I had to spend 2 nights in the hospital. One thing I noticed was that my body temp is usually a degree low when I get sick, if I take an extremely hot shower and raise my body temp to normal, my symptoms go away immediately.
I'm 50 now and have been a daily toker for 32 years (minus 4 in which I quit). Weird thing is...back in the 90's, when all I could get was bud with stems and seeds, I never experienced this syndrome. About 2015 this started on me. Luckily, I've rode them out except once I went to the ER. They didn't come up with anything.
Only seemed to begin when I started cartridges. Not saying that's the cause.

This syndrome with me is a crapshoot. I've quit before and when I look back, yah I wasn't sick for those years. So I've slowed to just a few flower tokes a day but I'm still taking chances.
Yes, abstinence is unfortunately the only answer. You'll find that your intestines will return to normal after a while, bowel movements, etc. and that daily pit in your stomach feeling will go away.
You can eat again and the insomnia will lessen daily. Knowing I've stopped before makes this time quitting really much easier. Good luck all.

My question is do we have to quit weed forever? I’ve heard this has to do with the Cannabinoids binding to your fat cells, which surely can’t last forever. Does this mean that moderation is the key or is it cessation?
Cessation I am sorry to say

Hi Natalie! Yes it’s very likely while quitting he will face withdraws. Sadly all you can really do is be there for him, and listen to him. Has he expressed interest in quitting the pot?
Depends on the person but marijuana withdraws is a cake walk compared to any other drug. I smoked weed daily for 15 years straight and had to quit for a few months. Literally all I had was loss of appetite for a few days
I've tried the THC cartridges. I always purchased from a dispensary and did my research on the brand before purchase. ANYTHING black market is going to be cheaper but at what price? The old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Also, I have quit THC completely. I am on Day 20. I have had a bit of insomnia, but I know with each night that passes, I win another round against herb. My dreams are seriously WILD, which I wasn't dreaming when I was smoking. I'm doing this because I have smoked pretty much daily for the last 7 years and my body needed to clean out. Plus, I am looking for work and many companies drug test. Stay strong people! It is not impossible. You will be glad you quit.
My first episode was 16 days. It was terrible. I came to the realization that it has come back due to poor decision and being uneducated. I'm now 5 days in and it's almost unbearable feel like I'm going crazy.
Any update ?
@@_EY_I’m 16 dealing with this I think and I’m just bummed why do I have to have this conditon and can’t smoke normally like my friends is it cause I smoked too many fake carts ?
thank you for these videos i went about 3 weeks going through the symptoms and then went 3-4 days completely recovered but it came back and now i think i know why

How are you doing now? I’ve been smoking since I was 13 I’m 23 now and I’ve been dealing w CHS on and off for 4 years now and this shit fucken SUCKS. It’s just so hard to stop smoking. Especially when your ALWAYS around it. I try to stay strong minded and quit but I can’t. How’s your journey going.?
@@cynthiamarie8201 the best tip i could give you for quitting is change who you surround yourself with. for me, all my friends smoked so i had to separate myself for a lil bit until I knew i had the strength to say no to smoking. being completely sober made me feel great and took away all my symptoms. After a few months of being completely sober i started smoking on the weekends and that has been working for me with no negative effects so far. Make the right choice for you and your body, i know its hard but you can do it i promise 🙏🏼💯 good luck and i hope you feel better soon. oh and you dont need weed!! i know it might feel like that because you’ve been using it for so long but i promise after a few weeks of detox the withdraw symptoms and cravings will stop, and you might even feel more clear headed (at least thats how it was for me)
This video helped me so much I been struggling for years tryna figure out the problem this fit my symptoms a 100 percent I’m going to quite today i job hope my kidneys are ok when it’s all over the main thing I worry about
Hey doc, i think i had chs i would wake up every morning with extreme stomach pain i didn’t want any food i was barely eating I went to the ER once for it and they said i had a “stomach bug” which i clearly didn’t it had gotten to the point at once where i probably ate 2 bites for 3 days... But I had slowed down smoking a week before i was going to stop and like let my body kind of detox also i found that i would crave foods with high sodium/salt and i would eat 1 meal a day, i weirdly crave to take a hot shower i would wake up some mornings and just sit in my bed in pain throwing up and it really has stopped my stomach pain in the morning I thank you so so much for finally giving me a diagnosis and this is crazy i found this video while i’m letting my body like detoxify people need to know about this!!!

I went through this very same thing, and I also have been smoking a very long time and smoke like I breath it, it’s a part of me. For immediate relief, capsaicin cream or basically chilli extract does work and so do drastic temperature changes, like hot to cold showers back and forth. I last went to the E.R. In 2019 and I would go 1-5 times a month since 2012!! Basically I found an article on R-CPD or “The No Burp Syndrome” weed or cannabis is not the cause of our nausea, and vomiting, in my opinion of course, it’s caused by not being able to release stomach or abdominal gas. Basically you can’t burp, and then you work yourself up into a panic not been able to release the gas, which then causes you to make yourself throw up for the relief of some gas escaping while you throw up. Back in 2019 I figured out never let myself hold in a burp or a fart and voila, all of my crazy nausea symptoms went away, while also never reducing the amount of cannabis consumed. Thanks for reading. I wish you well and hope you finds relief.
I do believe I'm going through this right now, four er visits in 3 months. I've been smoking for literally decades. This is absolutely the stuff of nightmares. It seems like doctors don't know what to do with this. Or at least they're still learning. I had a Dr tell me today that there's no way to get rid of this and that I'll be dealing with this for the rest of my life, regardless of me quitting. Super sad.
That’s absolutely false and i apologize on the doctors behalf for the lack of information in that office😹 i had my stomach tested at UCLA medical office, the doctor there said she had increasingly seen more cases of this but as long as you stop the weed you’ll be fine. I did and the CHS went with it. The moment i went back the chs came back. Everyone’s body is different but I’d venture to say stop and you’ll be okay
Be careful Mate, friend of mine went thru hell for years and died last year at 39, in large part due to organ damage from the dehydration events. Doctors never had any idea about this stuff right up till the end
Unfortunately alot of Dr still think Marijuana is evil and will tell you shit like that. This is one reason I don't like doctors
@@mumblez7712 to be fair I think mass majority of people get help before it's too late...may your friend rest in peace
After 4 weeks suffering from dehydration/dizziness from not eating correctly, feeling constipated and super nauseous. Plus a huge loss of weight. I finally went to the E.R (California Hospital in Los Angeles). At first i tought it was acid reflux or gerd. But boy i was wrong. I was diagnosed with Gastritis and Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome. Now it all makes sense. I work around cannabis and would smoke 3 to 5 times a day. For almost 15 years.... it feels good knowing im not the only one out here going thru this bs. I am now 5 days smoke free but haven't seen a change in the discomfort. Maybe it takes time. I will update my situation. Blessings to all my fellow smokers.
Any update ?
My chs was a pretty traumatic experience which went on off and on over 5 months before i realized that it was the Marijuana. Four hospital visits with the last one being a month after completely quitting so it even lingered. I lost 35 pounds and i suffered a vomit fobia with eating for months and the most screwed up part is this happened to me right when the pandemic started.
It’s legit scary scary stuff
I think there's levels to chs and some people don't get as sick as others because there's no way you could deal with this for several years if you experienced what i did.
@@jcloudy399 yeah for me, the first time I had an episode it was rly bad because I was vomiting , but when it comes back I just feel nauseous and i’m shaking and sweating . I think it might be dfifrent for everyone
how much did you smoke and what? like bong hits or joints?
@@leonho1450 started with tinctures then pens and everthing all together. My tolerance was maxed out and my body was overloaded with canabanoids.
Yeah, your comments on vape cartridges is making me hopeful that someday I can smoke flower again in moderation, cause mine started when I started vaping. Otherwise I never had any problems over 10 years with flower. And makes total sense now, why the only thing I want is steak and hamburger. I thought I was low on iron, but didn’t know that anemia was a symptom of CHS, so it’s all making sense now. Also this makes me hopeful that I can still eat dairy and drink coffee, because I thought it was IBS at first and I survive on string cheese, Greek yogurt and coffee to get all my mom chores done, and those food groups along with others keeps IBS flared up. And since I thought it was IBC I’ve been doing lots of bone broth, probiotics, slipper elm bark, to try to heal my gut. Lastly, you answered my question on CBD.
So I've been smoking since I was 15 years old and I'm 34 almost 35 now and throughout the course of the past 20 years I've noticed slight symptoms of CHS and I didn't correlate it to smoking weed. because back then nobody knew what CHS was. And smoking would make the pain stop... until it didn't. And then within the last couple of years my CHS has developed into an unmanageable burden. I didn't know it was CHS until 2 weeks ago when I was in the hospital for the last time for consistent stomach cramps and vomiting for an excess of 10 hours. I thought it was my anxiety. I only smoked flower. Not oil. I smoke an excess of 5 to 15 times a day out of a bong. If you can be a chain smoking cannabis user.. that was me. I finally quit.. only 5 days ago. And still experiencing many symptoms of CHS. Taking even one bite of solid food sends my stomach in to cramping fits tied with vomiting. As of right now my diet is soups and smoothies. I appreciate this video.. cause honestly I am scared. I've been smoking more than half of my lifetime. It was my security. I don't drink or smoke cigarettes. I don't use other drugs. But I struggle very much with sleep. Before I started smoking I developed PTSD which also wrecks my stomach. So when I use to feel sick all the time before... I blamed it on the PTSD. I'm wondering how long this might take. I have been dropping weight like crazy because I can't eat properly and I work out in the desert sun where is get 117° . CHS has definitely has a negative impact on my job. I feel weak and tired all the time. And my insides just hurt.
This sounds VERY similar to my story. I was in the hospital twice in the last few days. Can't even drink water unless I sip it. Can't eat solid foods. Best thing so far, has been white rice, in a chicken broth. Good luck!
Your story is very similar to what I’ve been going thru too. I don’t smoke carts, only flower, and have been a cannabis user for 10+ years. I’ve abstain from smoking since, but would love to go back and use again as it does help with my anxiety disorder.
Do you have an update? Are you able to use again? Or have you had to completely quit
@@csteele1585 I haven't been having many issues only when I am really stressed. I did start smoking again. But not a lot. Only when I really need it like Panic attacks or insomnia. Can't say if anything I have done has helped. I just know that I haven't had severe stomach cramping. And I can eat almost normally again.
I found a solution that provides relief within an hour. Currently I'm documenting stuff and trying to find a sponsor to get it out there.
