5 good things about GT for me
1. Grown up characters
2. Interesting villain concepts
3. Golden great ape was a nice reference to the original super saiyan
4. Super Saiyan 4
5. The way it ended. (No joke, I love how they closed he series)

Only thing I agree with is number 4 & 5
I gotta give it to GT for their animation and character design. It did an amazing job of capturing Toriyamas art style at the time and they didn't flake out as much as Z did when it came to the less important episodes. I'd even go as far as to say the less quality episodes were just as good as an average episode of Z in terms of animation. Goes to show they at least gave it their all when it came to the animation.
Yeah the looked mostly good, they are kinda ugly in Super. Not just the Animation they really look less good. Videl was so beautiful in Z & GT but she looks so damn ugly in Super, just my opinion tho
Another good thing about GT is the Designs. I may not like the look of SSJ4 Vegeta much but Baby Vegeta Final Form and Oozaru Form, Omega Nuova and Eis Shenron, SSJ4 Goku and Gogeta Super 17 and many more all look amazing.

GT didn't have the best story I agree, but I'll be damned if someone said it didn't bring anything good to DB. SSJ4 comes to mind first and foremost, it's my favorite SSJ transformation. I also loved Baby. He wasn't as sinister as Frieza or funny, but his backstory was interesting, and his impressive ability to zombify and control his host. The Shadow Dragons and their story was great too. I figured the Dragon Balls would backfire and turn on the Z Fighters at some point. Gogeta was the best fusion besides Gotenks, and I absolutely love his character design. Golden Great Ape was great too.

If you watched the original Dragon Ball to early DBZ, you'd see it very much does.
Gogeta looked like a recoloured ssj4 goku. Ssj4 should have been named different(like super sayain blue for e.g). Baby I hated him and also the shadow dragons and shit(especially since they don't match shenrons powers). GT had really bad and cheesy comedy. They ruined Pan turning her into a whining bitch and epic moments like Big Bang kamehameha were put to shame by crappy animation as it was only a ball and shine of light not to mention combining a blast and wave like they did was impossible. GT may have given closure to others but not me and I hate it. Thank god for answering my prayers that year with BOG then ROF then DBS. GT has been overwritten in our timeline through logic and canon(unless you count it alternate universe)

Geekdom101 I take GT over DB:E anyday. It isn't as bad as people say it is. A long time ago i used to dislike GT but in recent years i don't have any bad feelings about it. Yes, their are things i like, also dislike but DB:E Couldn't be any worst. Reminds us why Hollywood had no business adapting DB into a live action flim.... It sucked so badly that not even the awesome Chow Yun Fat couldn't save it.

Even more so than Chala-Head-Chala, because GT has that amazing saga with Baby and the ending with Goku dying but not dying and then he is treated as a legend after so many years
It makes you think about everything you and him have been through together with his story
It makes you feel sad and happy that it all happened, nostalgia
even if you haven't been watching dragonball since being a kid, it brings that heavy nostalgia that just makes you want to cry

Gosh, "Hold my hand" has to be amongst my top 5 overall Dragon ball series songs. such a nostalgia trip. somehow I missed the "Grand tour rap" and only knew the original theme.
Sad thing is, GT's animation is better than Super's...

Okay, so think about it like this: GT wasn't an ongoing show like Super, they could animate 15 episodes in 6 months and do the rest while GT was airing. Super guys had a head start of about 2 months and haven't gotten a single break. Because of the way it's staggered, Super episodes are animated in about 1/4th of the time. Z had the same issue, where it was ongoing for a long time. But then, they had 72 animators each taking 11-weeks to do episodes. Super had, until recently, 12 animators. That means that on average the super guys have about 1/6th of the time compared to Dragon Ball Z. Given that, it's a wonder it's as good as it is.
If you can ignore the Black Star Dragon Ball saga and the fact that Goku is a kid, then GT is actually pretty good.
I personally didn't enjoy the Super 17 arc either but the Baby and Shadow Dragon arcs were both really enjoyable. Makes GT worth watching imo so fuck the haters.
And Super 17 was like 5 episodes

If there is one thing I love about DBGT is the ssj4 transformation. I've kinda always thought about it as the epitome of Goku breaking his own limits and evolving as a fighter. I mean he basically dominated his primeval instincts as an Ozaru and thru that he achieves the final form of Saiyan evolution, how's that not cool huh? Anyway, just my to cents, awesome video and thanks for the hard work you put into this.

I'm shocked Super Saiyan 4 didn't make the list but I can dig your reasons for liking Golden Oozaru over it. Personally, 4s my favorite of the franchise as I like how distinct it is from the others and even though the coloring doesn't make much sense, everyone who got it looked awesome as hell.

GT was a very good anime. It may have been different than Z but on its own it was a solid anime with interesting story cool villains and the awesome ssj4 transformation. It was WAY better than the pathetic excuse of a dragonball, toriyama made in order to grab money, the bullshit DB Super. People just hate GT because they are idiots who don t know how to have their own opinion. They just follow a trend. Some people once said that GT sucks and they all followed like the sheep they are. Same old story

Well it is what it is, you can't change it when its already done for 20 years. I like both Super and GT (even though it does have flaws during that series), I still enjoy it. Just like I enjoyed the original Dragon Ball and DBZ as a child back then. And I still love it til this very day.

I felt like GT forgot midway that Krillin actually knew the others. One very strange thing I never got was when Krillin lost his spot in line for him and his family to go to planet Tuffle. Are you really telling me Bulma wouldn't let him get on anyway? Why would he need a ticket anyway? 18 was treating him like shit and then in the next ark Krillin suddenly is important again? Not to mention 18 was now sad for a guy they showed repeatedly being shit on by both her and his daughter? I also think they forgot 17 and 18 were brothers at the beginning. This could be a dub error but I never got why 17 said "we are best buddies" instead of something along the lines of, "we are family, we are siblings, we at blood." Something like that. Also 18's VA is some other female for like a couple lines in the car before returning to Meredith but that's most definitely a dub error.

In my opinion, GT's most redeeming quality is the final story arc; there is not a more fitting way to conclude the series than for the final and most powerful villain in the history of the franchise to be the one thing that's been keeping the story going since the very beginning; the dragon balls themselves. And the irony of it all is that Goku and his friends are responsible for it by having taken the dragon balls for granted and overused them, despite their good intentions.

My five good things about GT are 1.) Nueva Shenron was born from the 4 star Dragon Ball symbolizes Goku grandfather and he is the only alliance that Goku had out of those evil dragon. 2.) General Rildo would be by far the most powerful enemy the way Gohan struggled against him. 3.) Majin Buu reunited. Uub didn't really play a major role until he rejoin Majin Buu as Majuub. It was a one time moment. 4.) Omega Shenron does looks like Dabura only with their faces. 5.) Enemies know how to turn on one another. Dr. Gero got betrayed again trusting genius like Dr. Myuu that don't have the same goal as him, then Dr. Myuu also got killed twice by his own creations Baby & Super Android 17 just like Dr. Gero & Babadu got killed as well by their ultimate creations.
Pan's GT Design was cool, though everyone hates her in GT through personality. Well almost everyone. As for Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr., they were neat. And also when people biotch about Goku Jr. transforming from a bear almost dying, he had more reason than Goten and/or Trunks. After all, he was in a lot of stress already, from his grandma almost dying to the supposed death of Puck his bully-turned-friend.

SS4 was the only good thing about GT and even then, they put Vegeta in leather hot pants.
And half the fights in SS4 were just close-ups of Goku's eyes.
Everyone complains about Vegeta's Moustache in GT for one episode but yet when Goku and Vegeta come out with a beard in Super and no one complains about that.

Raditz saying that Planet Vegeta blew up a few years before the events a DBZ, only for it to be changed to it being minutes after Goku is sent to Earth. Super Sayian is something that happens to 1 Saiyan every 1000 years to being everyone with Sayian blood. Toriyama forgetting Launch, Garlic Jr Arc tying into a non cannon movie, Trunks warning them about the Androids being 20 and 19, only be changed to 17, 18, 16, and Cell.
I'll always remember the first time I saw goku turn into the golden oozaru and shortly after when I died laughing from the unexplained high pitched voice he had in the Japanese dub. it's hilarious. I love the Japanese voice actors soooo much more than the English cast, but this was a weird choice by whoever was in charge. episode 34 of gt guys, check it out and thank me later.

As someone who prefers the original Dragon Ball over DBZ (sadly haven't watched GT yet) I really like the concept of the blackstar dragonball arc where Goku, Pan and Trunks go to different planets to find the blackstar dragonballs. I know this arc isn't what most of you wanted seeing that a lot of people who watched GT when it first came out expected it to be like DBZ and that's understandable

Yeah I agree with number #1 all the way. "Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku" is hands down my favorite Dragon Ball song. I'm normally not a J-Pop love song kinda guy. But Just something about the course that gets me pumped up for GT everytime.

Tinizel I was asked this earlier. I have mixed opinions on it. I think it was a bit of a bullshit deus ex machina type of upgrade. It looks kinda cool but a bit different.
The ending video package in GT was a tear jerker. Like, shit felt like it was truly over.

All i'm saying is, this show brought back a sense of adventure that we haven't seen since the first arc of Dragonball and an actual Dragon Ball hunt. It actually developed on characters in very big and EFFECTIVE ways (come on, Goten and Trunks are teens, let them act like it) and also the villains, which a lot of people complain about as being weird and stupid...ARE HEAVILY REMINISCENT OF NON-Z DRAGONBALL VILLAINS. COME ON there was a rabbit who had a troop of people dressed up in bunny suits as a villain for a few episodes and a whole roster of dumb and colourful villains, so what is actually wrong with the Parapara brothers?! (Although I can agree that the Super 17 arc was unnecessary and stupid) People didn't see the true beauty of what GT brought back to the series after DBZ finished, especially how heartfelt the ending was.
I always thought GT was an alternate universe where the movies were cannon (admit you have a least one movie that you wish was canon) Also while GT was crap it had three additional pros that were not mentioned, Trunks was a main character for a bit, Trunks was brought to be more like his future counterpart and Trunks was shown with a sword.

In my opinion the reason why they hate GT and love super (like you mentioned, by using the same list of reasons) is mainly due to a single and more stupid reason:
super was created by Toriyama while GT was not (on the most part at least). I honestly think that kind of reasonment is beyond moronic and disgusting.

What i also liked about GT was that they didn’t take 140 episodes to defeat 1 badguy. I liked Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu but they really made the saga’s/fights way too long.

*Baby's race, the Tuffles( yeah I'm going with the Dub name for this) were only ever touched upon with the Japanese exclusive game "Plan to eradicate the Saiyans" where an evil doctor created a revenge machine to not only absorb the hatred towards the saiyans, but also power up Hachiyak( Hachiyack) one of the only beings the Z fighters couldn't defeat-except for one weakness.
( this games timeline was most likely set before the cell games as frieza, cooler, Lord Slug and other villans took plot in the cinematic scenes ).
Seeing how the Doctor was a tuffle, and his technology was very similar to Dr. Mews( the exception being Mew specialized in mutants) this story actually added layers to Baby and his race that made his hatred of the Saiyans even more valid, and worthy of his place as a great villan!

Hmm... I dont know what I THOUGHT it should've looked like. I mean honestly, I think Golden Oozaru should've been the final final form. I remember one of my friends theorized that SSJ1-3 are just mutations and that SSJ Oozaru is the true SSJ form. I thought that would've made perfect sense - if it wasnt for SSJ4!

Nah but we never get an "official" SSJ 4 multiplier in any of the manga or anime... soooo... SSJ4 is definitely stronger cause he beat Vegeta-Bebi Golden Oozaru form.
I was always a huge fan of the Shadow Dragon arc. True there was never any buildup toward it, but it was fascinating to see the downside of overusing the Dragon Balls be so drastic. They even worked in an emotional element with Nuova Shenron, the avatar of Goku's Four-Star Ball and the final villain that Goku manages to win over in the series.

Yes I'll give you that; DBGT had some really cool attacks and brought new life to old ones. SS4 Gogeta really was the coolest thing out of GT too.

Fun fact: The theme song for GT was done by field of view, the same band who did the theme song for Toei's Yugioh series. You may know that song from Yugioh abridged.
This is the kind of thing people need to focus on when looking at GT. It has flaws yeah but i can point out quiet a few if not just as many in DB and DBZ. Those previous shows weren't perfect by any means. Just enjoy it for what it is.

I actually liked the idea of the shadow dragons. They could’ve been done better but the idea was pretty cool IMO.
one thing i do like about gt is how ssj4 gogeta predicted super saiyan god's colour scheme like 2 decades early
i still get goose bums hearing that song. it reminds me of the end and goodby of Goku.
i love the idea of golden oozaru and ssj4 more than ssjg/ssjgss in dbz super

If the information doesn't interfere with prior events/information.. I just accept it as cannon. Bardock the Father of Goku is cannon to me while the Slug Movie isn't :L In my opinion at least
I know this video is old but I do agree with some of these things on GT
GT was the first thing I watched in Japanese when I was a kid and I fell in love with it. Mostly the music.
Sabitsuita Machine Gun by Wands was the first Japanese song to make me cry for some reason (I guess the ending had some type of emotional impact that I didn't understand back then...?) and I still listen to it til this very day. (Without crying like a baby XD)

I think everyone has to admit that the animation and music for GT were perfect.
I think the shadow dragons were a good concept (the concept itself), they were finally a good consequence to the overuse of dragon balls.
I am giving my self to the death list but I loved gt goku being turned into a kid, super saiyan 4, the character interaction and the theme fits with the title gt Galactic Tour or something like that
