    My theory is that Trunks from the original timeline destroyed 17 and 18 by using a shutoff device, and that's why he had the time machine set for so early hen Cell killed him. He was going to give it to Bulma, so they'd be ready and avoid the mess all together.

      I think Trunks also would have eventually gotten as strong as 17 and 18 and could have beaten them then had the Time Machine Set up to give Goku the heart virus medication way earlier. Cell ambushed him and took him out which enabled him to travel back but a key thing here is that Trunks wouldn't have gotten the Time Chamber training. Which is probably what enabled Cell to overpower him in an ambush.

      @@Zeromaru42 Remember (at least in the anime) that Future Trunks told Goku that once his symptoms started to take the medicine. Goku didn't take it anyway, despite his warning, & nearly died of the same illness. If he went back earlier & did that, Goku would have probably forgotten about it or ignored it regardless. I suspect that Future Trunks was going back further to take out all the androids before they were operational, including Cell.

    I always considered Cell’s Timeline to be the “original” version of Future Trunks timeline. Where events of both timelines are the same up until Trunks’ second return from the past.
    Likewise, the Unseen Timeline can be considered the “original” version of the Main Timeline, were events are the same up until the Androids arrival

      Not quite. The Cell we know comes from the original timeline. That is the only timeline where someone doesn't come back in time to alter things. So things played out the way they were supposed to. It was Bulma and Trunks from that original timeline that messed things up by making a time machine and going back to alter the 'unseen timeline'. Cell killing Trunks and going back four years or so before Frieza showed up on Earth is what created the main timeline the show follows and the History of Trunks timeline. So it was he that made the timelines split and not Trunks of the History of Trunks timeline.

    • @_vakas
      @_vakas หลายเดือนก่อน

      @andrewvincent7299 Nope. Not how that works.
      The ORIGINAL FIRST TIMELINE is the timeline that the Universe 12 time traveler comes from. He's the first to time travel successfully, which resulted in the 2nd timeline being made, which is the one Cell comes from. So the Universe 12 time traveler is indirectly responsible for Perfect Cell.

    Cell’s timeline was most likely the original. Trunks went to the past and found a way to shut down the androids when he returned to the future. On his way back to the past he was ambushed by Cell. When Cell travelled back he inadvertently created new past and future timelines. There’re four timelines up to that point in the storyline.

  • @LeonOyaro

    Wish there was more backstory on Goku’s fight against Frieza & King Cold. The means of Goku’s arrival on Earth has some conflicting dialogue in the show. Goku tells Trunks that he could’ve used Instant Transmission to make it in time. Yet Trunks says that Goku was due to land 2 hours after Frieza & King Cold. Maybe that’s how it played out in the future timeline, but Trunks’ arrival into the past changes that aspect of the story. The same way Goku catches the heart virus later than expected, as well as how Androids 19 & 20 show up to fight first, instead of 17 & 18.

      Fusion was discovered by Goku in the 7 years after he died from Cell. However, since their is no Cell, Goku would’ve never died, which means no fusion. The flip side to this is that since Goku most likely would’ve never died in this timeline, Vegeta would’ve never cared about the fight at the world tournament, because he could fight Goku whenever he wanted. This means Majin Vegeta most likely would never happened, which means Buu wouldn’t have been released because everyone would be completely focused on eliminating the threat of Buu immediately.

That means from that timeline that Cell came from, Trunks killed Frieza and King Cold and not Goku and so that suggests a timeline before the original timeline. I decided it was easier to call it the Cell timeline. And the timeline before that was the original timeline. This means 3 different future trunks not including the non-canon movies.

    IIRC, Cell states that he needed 4 years to develop from a pupa to his adult self. Thus, if he went back to the time to the year of Trunks's first arrival, he would reach adulthood one year after the Androids came, risking him to lose them if they were defeated in the meantime, defeating the purpose of the time travel. Consequently, the only way to guarantee that he would be able to absorb the Androids and reach perfection, is to travel at least four years before the Androids' first arrival.
    Therefore, my interperpration is that it was who Cell deliberately set the time machine to one year before Trunks's first coming, not Trunks by accident or mistake.

    Glad to see I'm not the only person who has thought of this! Thanks for breaking this down. I feel like this kind of thing needs some kind of graph or chart showing how each timeline played out. I'll spare my fanfic idea I have been thinking about that focuses on all the tertiary characters in this original timeline and share my thoughts regarding canon events and speculation instead.
    One thing that always bothered me is how Baba never helped. Like seriously she could have brought back Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, or anyone at any time to help Gohan and Trunks. My headcanon is there is a lot (in)conveniently involved with her ability to temporarily raise the dead and the cyborgs sacked her residence and broke her crystal ball which would have been her spell focus. Gero did a lot of recon after all and finding out all he could about Goku's allies and subconsciously planting them as targets in the cyborgs' subconscious seems like something he'd do. After all the cyborgs killed Korin which eliminated the senzu availability. So perhaps Baba was killed or she took a leaf from Roshi's book and went into hiding, perhaps fleeing into the Otherworld where she would be safe and then just never was able to help. Perhaps the lack of Kami due to Piccolo's death meant she lost an important intermediary to speak with King Yemma to ask to bring someone back?
    The Oracle Fish prediction is definitely a "oh wow whoops" plot hole. However, I like to think it as something the Oracle Fish definitely had a vision of, only Trunks messing with time screwed up its prediction and it had looked into another timeline. I guess by some convoluted logic Trunks' actions caused a "final timeline" (the main story timeline) where The Battle of Gods actually takes place. There is another plot hole in the fact that Beerus wakes up at a point in time in the main story way before Gohan and Trunks are fighting 17 and 18. At the time Trunks is still in his early teens. We certainly don't see Beerus going to Earth and asking Gohan about Super Saiyan Gods. In this timeline I can only imagine it as Beerus waking up and the oracle Fish saying "my prediction must be off, the Super Saiyan God is not appearing yet" so Beerus just decides to go back to bed for a few more years to wait for something to happen, only to never wake up when Shin is killed by Babidi and Dabura. Unless there was something I missed in DBS and Beerus' lack of appearance in Trunks' timeline was explained? Like we know he faded when Trunks' Supreme Kai was killed but was it ever said why Beerus never showed up before then?
    OR when Beerus wakes up, Whis says he could only find two pure blooded saiyans left on Vampa (completely disregarding the two relatively weaker half saiyans on a dying Earth). Vegeta proved that god ki can be attained without the ritual so maybe Whis and Beerus just train up Broly for Beerus' destined fight? So Beerus fights Broly, they have a good time, Broly trains with Whis for a while, Beerus goes down for a nap, Earth is completely disregarded, Shin gets himself killed, Beerus and Whis both fade, and Broly and Paragus find themselves stranded and alone again. At least Beerus' island is friendlier than Vampa. Hope there is something to eat there!
    The date on the time machine being 4 years off... I like the idea that he was setting it to bring a remote back to create a timeline where nothing crazy happens but dang would the gods be even angrier at him for creating more timelines! I really think other than the idea of him falling on the controls when Cell killed him he just didn't finish setting it yet and that was one of his saved points he or Bulma thought of going back to. Perhaps a few different days were bookmarked like when Cell actually arrived, when Freeza lands, or right when Goku starts suffering from the virus.
    Thinking of how exactly Babidi enacts his plans and who tries to stop him could be a fun story in itself. Perhaps some new heroes could arise. Perhaps Videl and Tao arise as the new strong powers on earth after being at odds and then deciding to work together in an unlikely duo. (Tao killed her father's master after all but a revenge plot was never explored. Also I desperately want to see Majin Tao happen.) Or maybe Jaako brings the galactic police to sort it out. Or maybe Arale just wanders over from Penguin Village and just messes up everything and then ends up becoming Buu's best friend, I could absolutely see Toriyama writing that as a joke. (Then things escalate into a storyline like the DBS main story and she befriends the Omni King too! Could you IMAGINE the mayhem?)

    Something I've always wondered, (Since Super retconned this in) How do the oracle Fish's prophesy's work in relationship to time travel.
    We know that the main timeline isn't really the original timeline, since it is only in the state that it is in thanks to trunks coming back and helping them out during the Android Saga.
    So if Trunks never showed up, Goku would be dead, and that means no Super Saiyan God right?
    So what about The oracle Fish's prediction that Beerus would fight a Super Saiyan God? How is this prediction compatible, when you consider that the only way this outcome could come about is if Trunks meddled with the timeline in the first place.
    So what about the original Timeline, What happens to the Beerus? Did he just wake up and get mad when there was no Super Saiyan God? (And if you really think about it. Shouldn't he have still visited Earth even in the Original Timeline.)
    It just seems like the oracle fish's prediction could only work if you take time travel into account. But then its still weird because The oracle fish made that prediction 39 years ago. Thats farther back in time than even cell went back in time. Meaning that the oracle fish's prediction should exist in all Timeline's. Yet the successful outcome of the prediction is only possible in one timeline.

      Thank you for your generosity. If I had to say, prophecy is foresight of events to come, which are dictated by the timeline it's in. It's entirely possible that the Oracle Fish didn't make that prediction in the Original or History of Trunks timelines, or perhaps it did and was simply incorrect, such as with the prediction about an "Idol" coming to live with Beerus that never came to pass.

      personally, i think it fits somewhat well even without having enough saiyans to complete the ritual - Vegeta, as far as we know, obtained SSG through training amongst those with god ki, right? well, he could always go to Broly, have him train with Whis, and attain SSG that way! the vagueness of *who* the SSG is in the prophecy makes me think it could have been any of the Saiyans, whether Gokū's alive or not. as long as a single Saiyan exists somewhere, even one as weak as Tarble, a SSG can be made, and a rival honed

Of course we know how it ends but the in between would be nice. His struggles through out the years, when he first turned super saiyan. Also if Bulma was so smart, why didn't she get some of Gohan's genetic material to have more saiyans around? How she gets the genetic material I'll leave to your imagination. • @HopUpOutDaBed
      @HopUpOutDaBed 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's caused by cell time traveling. This causes the future trunks we know to travel to the main timeline, a timeline with 2 cells. ( the split would officially happen when his time machine technically goes to a different past than the previous trunks.)
      This causes his time machine to be "linked" to the 2-cell past instead of the 1-cell past, so when he returns to the past 3 years later the main timeline events happen where he learns about Cell, trained in the RoST, saw Gohan go SS2 and beat him, etc. Now because he knows of Cell and he's prepared for Cell in his own timeline, he doesn't get ambushed and killed, and the timelines diverge further from there.
      The question then becomes, why did his time machine go to the main timeline with 2 cells instead of a past with just 1 fetus cell like the previous future trunks... It could just be a quirk of time travel or it's just a paradox and Toriyama didn't think that hard about it.

    I'd actually always thought the dead Trunks was a mistake in the series. And it's shown again with Super and the Time Rings. There are 3 rings. One for the original timeline, one for the timeline Trunks created, and then one for the timeline that Zamasu created.
    So where is the ring for the reality where Trunks died? So there should be a 4th ring for the timeline Cell created after killing his version of Trunks.
    I'll argue this even further by saying that there are 3 Trunkses in the series. The one that came back in time, the one in our timeline, and then the dead Trunks.
    And then even further proof; Future Trunks goes back to his original timeline and kills cell in that timeline. So there are also 3 cells. The Cell in Gero's lab in our timeline that they kill before it is born, the Cell who killed the 3rd Trunks who came back, became perfect and was defeated by Gohan, and then Future Cell from the same timeline as Future Trunks, who dies in his Imperfect Stage.
    In conclusion, there are actually 4 timelines, 3 Trunkses and 3 cells, and Toriyama just never, ever addressed the Dead Trunks/Perfect Cell timeline ever again. It just vanished

    The original death of Trunks is pretty straight forward. With no Cell in the past, Trunks helped defeat the androids then went back in time to defeat them in his timeline. Cell then blind sighted him with move lists from the Z warriors he had no idea of. Was probably solar flared and then grabbed by Cell. When Cell went to the past and made a new timeline, Trunks second visit witnessed Cell, then the events of Vegeta and him training and getting stronger and the Cell games, lead to him returning and killing Cell

When cell is recounting the different cells in his makeup he mentions a future trunks from his timeline that managed to beat frieza & KC but they didn't need more saiyan dna from him. This is weird because it should have been goku beating them in cell's timeline and it kinda brings into question how that timeline turned out so bad. One could say the “5th” timeline is where no one ever time travelled ever. Just like the universe 12 has 2 timelines at once, the moment future trunks went off and created a branch timeline in his present, there exists the real og timeline where trunks was most likely killed by the androids and then cell absorbed them making him perfect cell.
      So the “5th” timeline or the real original timeline would be where the perfect cell resides.

    • @_vakas
      @_vakas 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @shaheer1172 This is a lot so bear with me. After about a month of research, this is what I've learned about the timelines:
      I believe the Universe 12 time traveler is responsible for Bulma inventing time travel in the 2nd timeline, because the history of Universe 7 in the first timeline doesn't correlate with the history of the 2nd timeline.
      It all started with the original timeline that was introduced in Super, when Gowasu talks about the Universe 12 time traveler who successfully does so for the first time. The U12 time traveler created the 2nd timeline, which is the timeline Cell kills Trunks. I believe you're right in that no one from Universe 7 time travels in this timeline. Otherwise, there would be another time ring in DBS. This implies that the Universe 12 time traveler may have spread the knowledge of time travel throughout the multiverse, and because he's the first to time travel, he doesn't know how the effects of changing history work, so he goes back to the first timeline after spreading the "seeds" of time travel and just chills, I guess. This altering of history may have been enough to prevent himself from inventing time travel in the subsequent timelines, which is why he's only brought up once, because he's only relevant to one timeline's creation.
      At any rate, his influence caused Universe 7's history to change. So much so that not only does Bulma create a successful time machine, but Cell also ambushes and kills Trunks after Trunks killed the Androids(how that was done is a whole other discussion). Cell then goes back in time and creates the third timeline, the Future Trunks timeline.
      There's some interesting differences between the Future Trunks timeline(3rd) and the second timeline that shouldn't be happening. For example, Android 17 and 18 destroy Dr. Gero and Cell inside of Gero's lab's basement. However, in the second and canon timeline(4th), Gero dies in the upper level of the lab. Something directly affected Gero in such a way that he activated the Androids early. In his death scene in the Future Timeline, he's overworked and veiny in the eyes, so he's obviously motivated by something. I believe that Future Gero was affected by Cell from the second timeline traveling back to the past.
      As we know, time travel is shown to change the weather. If Gero's on break in his lab, he's got plenty of space to witness the weather instantly change. This would probably freak him the hell out, and it would show him that there are greater technologies and forces at play, which is enough motivation to work night and day on his ultimate creation. So much so that he even brags about it to 17 and 18 before dying in the lab's basement...
      Then, after a while, Future Trunks creates the 4th timeline by going back to the past and confronting Mecha Freeza and Cold. By going to the past, Future Trunks actually duplicated the Cell from the second timeline, because up until we see Future Trunks, we're actually _watching_ the Future Timeline(3rd), therefore Cell from the 2nd timeline has to come to the past around the time everyone left for Namek, because he went back 4 years before the Androids versus Future Trunks who went back 3.
      This goes back to be "other discussion" I was talking about. Why does Trunks from the second timeline decide to go back 4 years whereas Future Trunks from the 3rd timeline goes back 3 years??
      It's a little headcanon, admittedly, but I believe Mr. Popo fought the Androids and was holding his ground, and second timeline Trunks senses this and flies to the scene. By the time he gets there, Mr. Popo is defeated, but perhaps not dead. He tells Trunks about the Time Chamber, and in a day or two Trunks becomes powerful enough to destroy the Androids.
      However, because of the differences between the 2nd and 3rd timeline, it's reasonable to say Future Trunks would prioritize going back in time instead of seeing who's fighting the Androids, considering these are the only Androids who killed Gero _and_ Cell, so their confidence and assholery is way beyond the 2nd and 4th timeline versions.
      If I need to clear anything up just let me know.

    If I'm not mistaken, Cell set the time machine for a few years earlier because he had to revert into an egg to fit inside the time machine, and those years would allow him to evolve back to his full body right around the time where the Androids were created/activated.
    The timelines are in fact much easier to explain:
    TM1 - Goku dies from the heart disease, the androids kill the Z fighters except for Gohan and Trunks, Gohan eventually dies fighting the androids, future Trunks travels twice to the past, first to give Goku the medicine (in TM3), then to help the Z fighters against the androids (again in TM3), then returns to the future to kill the androids and Cell.
    TM2 - Very similar to TM1, except that the androids were killed by Gohan and/or Trunks in this timeline, so Cell killed Trunks so he can use his time machine to travel to the past (in TM3).
    TM3 - exactly how we saw in the anime: Trunks arrives from TM1 to give Goku the medicine, and Cell arrives from TM2 a few years earlier to evolve from egg to humanoid, right around the time where the androids were activated.

      Db time travel is a bitch.
      - Basically cell’s timeline is the original. The trunks of that timeline went to the past to get the remote to deactivate the androids, met the z fighters and warned them about the androids (that becomes the unseen timeline). Trunks travels back to his future, deactivates the androids and gets ready to go back to tell that to the z fighters. Cell ambushes him, kills him, steals the Time Machine and travels to the distant past (further back than trunks originally traveled thus creating a new timeline)
      - cell creates the future trunks timeline by doing this. So the trunks of that future comes back and that’s the one that we see, he creates the main timeline. At this point we have four timelines - cell’s (original), unseen (created by trunks when he went back), future trunks (created by cell when he went further back), and present (created by trunks).
      Super is where it gets kind of confusing. Basically the main timeline is where zamasu originally steals Goku’s body and kills him, then future trunks travels back again and creates a new main timeline where Goku survives (and the story continues). Then Zeno erases the future timeline, and at the end of the arc Whis takes Mai and trunks to a point in the future timeline before babidi and dabura show up (since Beerus and shin would still be alive), future Beerus deals with zamasu and the future is spared (until Moro shows up or something else happens).
      So that leaves us with like what, 6 timelines total with one erased…? It’s a lot lol

    So uh I remember Super had like 5 or 6 rings for the timelines. So 1: OG timeline, 2: timeline og timeline trunks saved, 3: main timeline and 4: trunks timeline ver 2 which gets erased later, 5: GT timeline? Since this is at a moment when they claimed there was no new time rings that had appeared unless it was still somehow the timeline Zamasu created by stealing Goku's body and travelling to future. So that's like 5 or 6 canon timelines and then there is Trunks timeline version 3 that Whis created. Including that its 6-7 canon timelines. I dun remember if they added a 7th ring to the box or a 6th. If 6th that would mean after all that GT ain't canon whatsoever.

    I had thought about this at one point but didn't think about it again until I started seeing videos of that "original" timeline. As far as the question of what happened after "original" timeline - Bulma contacting the new planet Namek? Unlikely. That timeline is actually depressing to think about lol. The end of Cell is the spiritual ending for me, so I don't even entertain the other ideas. My only thought is that Bulma just took whoever was alive and rebuilt.

    good analyze there. here is my thoughts..
    since the arrival of future Trunks, it's also open up the other timelines, the timelines we never see, like the original timeline of Cell.
    how future Trunks able to defeated the Androids? the same way He defeated them as shown in the show after He going back to His timeline after SSJ2 Gohan defeated perfect Cell in the main story.
    how Cell able to defeated Trunks in the future if Trunks was much powerful than Cell? life absorbing technique. the same way Android 20 (Dr.Gero) did grabbing and locked Piccolo movements while absorbing Piccolo's life energy even tho' Piccolo is more powerful than Him.
    so the future Trunks that being killed by Cell is the same future Trunks that we've been follow throughout the main story.
    only this time, Trunks got the story explanation by Piccolo about how Cell killed Him in the future.
    the show then show us how Trunks aware (this time, thanks to Piccolo) of Cell lurking behind Him ready to catch His guard.
    but that's left a plot hole there...
    the future Trunks who got killed by Cell was already set the time machine 1 year before the arrival of future Trunks in the main story.
    is it an error writing by Akira? or Akira did it on purpose? if He did it on purpose and full aware then it's like I said in the very beginning. THERE IS ANOTHER TIMELINE. PROBABLY LIMITLESS TIMELINES

  • @RyanBlazheart
    @RyanBlazheart ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ironically Cell's Timeline is the most peaceful timeline. Frieza is dead. The heroes are dead. Trunks is killed by Cell. Cell leaves to a time before trunks was supposed to give the Z fighters the shut down switch Blueprints. There are no high power levels to check for on Earth to revive Fat Buu. I'm pretty sure the multiverse is safe since there is no reason for Zamasu to start project Zero Mortals. Sure universe 7 at some point or another will probably get wrecked by someone behind the scenes unless Yajirobe and Mai can talk to Bulma to find a way to contact New Namek to use their Dragon Balls. But there is only a slim chance that someone in universe 7 can cause enough problems to get the attention of the Kais in the first place. At least the heroes who died in battle can ask King Kai to check on things by using his powers at least once a week or month for every year. I mean come on don't heroes who die in battle get the privilege to train and speak to King Kai but can also check on the state of Universe 7?

    • @ssj6jose
      @ssj6jose ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re right, to a point. Moro will probably break out at some point and run riot, Earth will just be another planet he absorbs. Also in the manga, Zeno is about to erase all but four universes due to their low rank but doesn’t bc Goku reminds him of the ToP just in time. So even if Moro doesn’t break out, Zeno would probably erase the universe anyway since there is no Goku to suggest the ToP.

      @@ssj6jose that can't be right though. If Cell creates the Future Trunks timeline, then wouldn't he have finished molting around the same time the androids appear without warning and then absorbed them and killed everyone? How would the time machine have been invented? Even if Bulma and Trunks survived all this and the time machine was still invented ultimately, he would have known all about Cell already when he came back to the TV series timeline to warn the Z fighters. There's either a plot hole here or something is missing. Maybe something happened to Cell during the molting process in the Future Trunks timeline and he never came to be?

    So Gero built the androids to hunt down Goku. But with Goku dead, Gohan is the next best choice for his revenge. But the Androids went rogue and killed him and wanted to turn Earth into their playground since they were completely free to do whatever they wanted. What if there was a timeline where the Androids killed Trunks? Then Cell Absorbs them? Cell could replace Frieza as Beerus' destroyer candidate since he had Frieza do his job for him while he slept. And if Cell refuses, he gets Hakai'd.
