Hey nice b5 ... who ever was the last owner took good care of it ... mine is black on black I have high mileage on it over 200 thou and its running pretty strong ... I guess as long you give it good maintenance this car will last you forever
I have a 2001 B5 S4, 6 speed which I've owned since it rolled off the boat from Germany. I live in a Rocky Mountain ski town and this car has shredded many blizzards over the last almost 20 years. The B5 is so solid and the cockpit so well designed with the red lighting and white needles...timeless. I also have a B8.5 S4, 6 speed which is also a beast.
Great vid! I'm 6' 4" so I hear you on headroom! I found that one of my favorite parts of the interior is the 3rd visor above the rear view mirror, just found it 2 days ago!
Lovely to see your enthusiasm for the B5 S4, a much underestimated vehicle and as you say the ultimate Q car. Regarding the dash design this is one aspect that does disappoint as it is far to teutonic and plain. My previous 1996 S2 Coupe had lovely white dials and they did provide a great feel good factor. Shame Audi didn't adopt those on the S4. Personally I have fitted chrome rings on the dials, which are available on Ebay for a few Pounds, and they do lift the feel of the instrument binnacle. Regarding the exhaust mine is stock (still running the original exhaust after 19 years and 262k miles) and sounds great when loading the boot, but other wise is barely audible. Doesn't bother me as I am more focused on comfort. Here in the UK these cars have now reached cool retro status and once again attract admiring looks and comments, mostly from younger petrolheads. After 14 years of ownership the B5 S4 remains my daily drive of choice and now having driven to the moon I have set myself the challenge of completing the return trip. I have no doubt the S4 will complete the journey with no dramas and provide lots of thrills along the way. Finally, one additional aspect that I love about the B5 S4. The badge says nothing, but says everything to those that know.
I love your car man! I'm a huge B5 fan but haven't had the money to buy yet.. I wish you were in the UK for some joint videos... I have a Miata Turbo and would love to see what it's like compared to that...

This is weird. Because back when I had my B5 S4 I had that same jacket... Lost the removable grey hood, but this is weird. Going to look at another Stage 3 tonight.
Hey man! I found a b5 S4 with 166,xxx miles. It's got timing maintenance done, new clutch, new ko3 turbos, and all maintenance receipts. HOWEVER Its got a stage 2 tune at 18psi. Given it's got new turbos you think it's a decent buy? Looking at $5900. Thanks! Ben
Hey Ben, K03s can be blown up pretty quick with a bad owner and just a Stage 2 tune. Depending on the maintenance done think $5900 could be a fair price dependent upon color, interior condition, and what maintenance has been done.
I can't say for sure I know the autos definitely have problems when you start adding torque. Since it's bone stock it may be worth taking a look but that price seems high for that mileage.
Was thinking of going cheap and getting the ssac exhaust. My buddy had a borla exhaust on his which sounded great but not sure I want to spend the money
Alex Nicolli I have the oem downpipes with the cats cut out along with the SSAC Twin 2 exhaust. The SSAC system is worth it 😎 (you don't need to spend 1k on an exhaust, any system will make it sound good).

My 02 A4, 3.0 Quattro that I’m restoring to stock from a bad attempt at modifying. I agree on the stock Bose Symphony sound system, it’s great.
