A very enjoyable Sunday afternoon (in the UK!) Over two hours of great music by the band with awesome arrangements and solos delivered in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The Master of Ceremonies Joan Chamorro was on top form, having survived his big birthday celebrations and no one wanted to go home at the end of the show.... Thank you to the Windmills organisation for hosting these concerts and for live streaming them around the world.
What an exciting adventure it's been to follow Joan's children from their first tentative notes to the international stage! This wonderful concert brought a welcome ray of Barcelona sunshine to an otherwise dull and rainy day in Hobart, Tasmania! R (Australia)

Master Chamorro and some of his best talents trained at Sant Andreu are going to India, no less. Good trip for only two days of concerts, but I love that the incredible art and talent of this unrepeatable Jazz band is known by the 5 continents. The interpretation, well, at the height of the kids: impressive. All of them have already become figures, some of the youngest like Koldo Munné growing at supersonic speed (what a vocalist he has become for us in a very short time), the "new" Alba Esteban suddenly turned into a fabulous singer, the Armengou sisters, Elia , Martí, Marc, Marçal... already consecrated a long time ago... In short, nothing new in these monsters. The repertoire, as expected, combining Jazz with Bossa Nova and a bit of Latin American. I guess Chamorro had studied it well for the Indian public. And some curious details: the tattooed Albas, the first time I see it in someone from the SAJB. Armengou's tattoo is discreet, but Esteban's are very striking (of course this girl has changed, there is no doubt). Elsa, who still can't hold the laughter when she has to do the vocal choirs. Marc wearing a conspicuous bald spot on the top of his head (the years are unforgiving)... 😉
I think that tattoo on Esteban's hand is a traditional Indian "mehendi" artwork (Henna paste is applied with a brush). It's often done before a wedding or other celebrations. Mehendi artists have incredible designs. Mehendi designs will slowly fade away, and should go in less than a month

Many of these players have at least one other project going right now. For them to get together here with this precision speaks to their impeccable training. Lotsa talent, too.

The performers in the two shows were at their high powered best and it would be unfair of me to pick on individuals as they all played their part. As far as the presentation was concerned I found the camera work to be very good especially with the close ups. I was however disappointed with the sound balance and at times even with my ear phones on maximum volume found it difficult to hear some of the lower notes. Alba A seemed to be worst served with the mikes she was using. In case anyone suggests it was my equipment, all i would say is that the interval videos recorded in Barcelona had none of the problems.
Não me lembro mais de há quantos anos acompanho os músicos do Joan Chamorro. Interessante é perceber o quanto esses rapazes e moças evoluem musicalmente ano após ano. E a mudança física, tornando-se adultos, também é muito interessante observar. Já são duas mães no grupo e daqui a pouco teremos nos palcos os "netos" do Chamorro. Bem vindos!

The spirit of Clifford Brown must have had his hand on Elsa’s shoulder as she played “what’s new.” Her talent is immense.

Having fun is evident with the band on this their 2nd concert of two at the Windmills - Bengaluru. The Band did Grand!
