Lars, I am enormously grateful for giving us the opportunity to see and listen to this entire concert by my idolized Sant Andreu Jazz Band, which I have been following for years. I would like to comment on a detail: many of the musicians did not really belong to that orchestra anymore, they left it in recent years for reasons of age, when they turned 21. Seeing them now reunited for that concert and dressed in the SAJB t-shirt makes me very happy. And if you allow me, I will put all their names with the year of birth of each of them, I think it is interesting information. Joan Chamorro (Director / Double bass) - 1962 Elia Bastida (Violin / Saxophone) - 1995 Joan Codina (Trombone) - 1996 Jan Doménech (Piano) - 1996 Joan-Mar Sauqué (Trumpet) - 1996 Carla Motis (Guitar) - 1997 Joana Casanova (Voice / Saxophone) - 1998 Joan Martí (Saxophone / Voice) - 1998 Pablo Ruiz (Drums) - 1998 Max Tato (Trombone) - 1998 Alba Esteban (Saxophone / Voice) - 1999 Marçal Perramón (Saxophone) - 1999 Arnau Sánchez (Trombón) - 1999 Alba Armengóu (Voice / Trumpet) - 2001 Simon Palazzi (Piano) - 2001 Ton Felices (Double bass) - 2002 Nil Galgo (Saxophone) - 2002 Victor Carrascosa (Trumpet) - 2003 Elsa Armengóu (Trumpet) - 2004 Koldo Munné (Saxophone) - 2005
I was amazed the first time I heard The Sant Andreu Jazz Band years ago and am still amazed. Joan Chamorro has a unique talent to take young people and teach them music. Thank you so much for sharing this concert..
Great to see Joana Casanova singing with Alba. Joana has an absolutely beautiful voice. She is the best natural singer in the whole band. It was nice seeing the concert end with Joana showing that great singing voice. She is fabulous‼️
Always astonished by the Sant Andreu Band and the savvy of the individual players. Joan Chamorro should receive a Nobel Prize for his remarkable work with nurturing these talented young musicians. Stunning results.
If not the Nobel Prize, he certainly deserves much more universal recognition for what he's accomplished and continues to produce. When I introduce people to SAJB, I never tell them that this is essentially a band consisting of children. Of course, a great number of these children have gone on to become highly successful professionals. He doesn't just teach music. He teaches talented kids how to use their talents to live rewarding lives. He's the true teacher of the decade.
Wonderful to see and hear this great band year after year. I've followed Joan and all the great talent he has developed and showcased. Music is the universal language we all understand and appreciate. Thanks for keeping jazz alive.
Great to hear young people playing with a nice swing - this music takes a LONG time to play at a high level - I’m really enjoying this - peace from New York
Thanks so much for this! Such a thrill to see them all in concert. Alba and Joana terrific. New guys Koldo and bassist fit right in. Great trumpet section with Vincent and Joan Mar and Alba and Elsa. Joan Marti sings and plays that '20s Conn alto ! Joan Codina and the 'bones. Elia Bastida sounding great and looking wise. Jan and rhythm section so nice. Joan Chamorro speaking English! Marcal and reed section sounding sweet and hot. Love this band so much!

@@yvesn58 Seasrch here on TH-cam - type: "erroll garner - "sweet and lovely"/"mack the knife" - LIVE". You'll get the exact performance (Seattle, 1963). I just checked.
I hate to burst your bubble, but I will tell you as a former participant in the American higher education system in the USA,it will squeeze all the personality out of their playing, and they will come out grumpy husks. Beware!
@@larshansen7907 In my opinion, the video is quite good. Yes, you would have achieved a better sound if you have had access to the stage microphones. But that would not exactly be the live sound any more.

Elsa was very good on her trumpet solo. I think I actually saw her smile. She is very reserve. Such a beautiful and talented young lady.
Elsa armengau. Beautiful trumpet sound!!
In my opinion, both the Armengou girls are better players than Andrea Motis.
Agreed.

Elsa just kills it on What’s New. Such a rich tone. And the saxes are amazing. Check out Elsa’s rendition of “Laura”.

Someone mentioned Juilliard, I would also add Berkeley in Boston or/and North Texas State….all great music schools with emphasis on jazz.

Carla weer ergens achterin geplaatst?
Carla Motis on guitar is right next to the piano, partly hidden behind a note stand.
Carla was hidden behind that music stand throughout the festival. I did not manage to get a proper picture of her.
ジャズと言えばクラシックと違い、聴いていて身体が弾むような2. 4拍の躍動するドラム、ベースがバンドを一体化させ引っ張っらないと"のっぺり"した学芸会になる、躍動感が無いのでだらけて聞こえる。
Very nice, but I could do without the whistler.
We'll look into it.
excellents musiciens je suis fan !! mais dieu que le realisateur du film est mauvais !!!!
This is not a professionel recording. It is my private video as an ordinary guest. The alternativ would have been no video.
