    You notice torque when you ride a bike and your gsx8s has a ton of it - great job , really like this series👍

    I reckon it'll get even better with a cam set that breathes more. Same as the SVs always did!

    I just got my 8R yesterday and decided to wait on any performance mods so that I can pull the trigger on a good exhaust/tune. I can't wait to see results in the future so I can shop.

      same with my 800DE.. just waiting a bit for things to get really dialed and others to be Beta testers. A great engine.

    Been very interested in this bike. Everyone poo-pooed this bike when it dropped but seeing the gains made I feel like this is such a great bike at around 90hp. I’ve had a couple FZ07s an fz09 and now an 09sp and I’ve tracked all of them. Really interested to see how a well set up 8s would fair on the track. Seems to be a spicy little engine especially compared to the MT07

    • @carlossantana6429
      @carlossantana6429 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What are your thoughts on the mt07 on the track? Also would you justify the price difference of the 09 vs the 09sp?

    • @langhamp8912
      @langhamp8912 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There was a tuner (RST?) that tracked the 8S; to make it track worthy is surprisingly expensive. The first thing you'd need is rear sets as the limiting factor seems ground clearance.

      Mine is super fun, tops out at about 130, has a huge selection of aftermarket looks parts, it's not a 1000 but still a great bike.

    I recently completed all these mods mentioned in the video to my GSX-8R. M4 full exhaust w/Q10 baffle, velocity stacks, air box lid, DNA filter, 2WDW Tune... What a transformation of this machine. Its like it was brought up into an entirely new class of bike from what it was. It goes to show how choked up bikes are when coming into the USA.
    I've been on a few meaningful test rides since, and I have not done anything further to the bike to address any potential exhaust popping. It just doesn't do it. All the AIS stuff I left in place as it was.
    It was expensive to do all this, but it was worth it as the bike now runs as it was meant to. The A-mode throttle map is pretty close in feel to a cable throttle, not quite, but pretty darn close. Its a heck of a lot better than it was. The closer to the 'speed of thought' that my throttle can respond, the better. Cables still are ideal with respect to this, in my opinion.
    Thanks to all the 2WDW guys for putting together this specific tune that ties together the mods really well, and making them all worthwhile as a whole. VERY nice work fellas! My bike is on a journey to becoming a great track weapon for me. I've piloted sport bikes for over 3 decades, street and track. And I haven't been this excited for a new motorcycle in a VERY long time. The GSX-8R is good stock to develop on.
    Suspension is next, after I grow another kidney to sell. lol

      Where do I buy the velocity stacks, air box lid, dna filter, and 2wdw tune? I don't know the product numbers...I just ordered the M4 and the q10 baffle. Thanks!

      @EnjoyTheRideMC 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sarahgoldfarb913 TST has the kit with the airbox lid and velocity stacks. The tune comes obviously from 2 Wheel DynoWorks. Think I got the DNA air filter somewhere on amazon.

      I just got this M4. Can I install it and drive the bike? Or do I have to get the ECU flash as well before driving it?

    • @EnjoyTheRideMC
      @EnjoyTheRideMC 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sarahgoldfarb913 You just spent a bunch of money on that exhaust. It will have a bit more power, but it won't have as smooth and predictable of a throttle response... which in my opinion, is more important than a little extra power. The drivability is greatly improved by getting the correct map for it. It also has all the other things in it that Nate worked so hard at creating. You can do what you wish, but you're leaving a LOT on the table that you paid towards. Bottom line IMO... I don't think it makes sense to not get the map after spending the money you just did. Thoughts to consider. :)

    Someone NEEDS to make cams for this; my ricer math says that torque shifted up 1000-1500RPM will do a meaty 105-110RWHP. I imagine someone already has for the MotoAmerica bikes.

    Has the ECU flash changed the secondary butterflies at all? The HP/torque flattening out on the top end looks like the secondary butterflies are closing partially at 100 percent throttle like many of the other motos that I have seen.

  • @EnjoyTheRideMC
    @EnjoyTheRideMC 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If I understand correctly... As far as the airbox lid and air filter are concerned, the 8S, 8R, and the 800 Vstrom all share those same parts, correct? That would mean that those of us that have ordered an 8R, can get a head start on searching and purchasing the filter and airbox lid for the 8S. It seems those items found online don't yet specifically list the 8R as an application at the time I post this comment.
    I'm also guessing the M4 full exhaust for the 8S would also fit, thought there might have to be an 8R specific exhaust design to account for the belly pan. I'm going to wait a little longer on ordering exhaust until more is known.
    Thanks for any confirmations you can give! You'll be getting some tuning business from me once my yellow 8R arrives in March/April of '24.

      By my eye, main differences so far would be exhaust muffler hanger locations. Only other concern would be the 8R fairings whether they will clear the same headers provided on these systems for the 8S. More than likely the 8S and 8R have the exact same airbox and underseat architecture. So far as I know, the hardware changes on the 8R are in regards to the suspension (Showa instead of KYB) and handlebar setup (clip ons, above triple clamp).

      I just did the whole TST setup for my V Strom800. All parts are interchangeable. They tuned it for the exhaust I have. Wow! I now have close to the 1050's power and torque. A great deal lighter and a way better suspension! Good luck on your build.

  • @richardwarsinske7064

    In regards to the velocity stack intake mod. dyno chart @ 2:58 are the HP gains (+1.37 max) above 7000rpm really more significant than the loss in torque (-2.46 max) below 7000rpm for street application? I understand at speeds above 100mph the velocity stack equipped motor would have more power (HP & torque) but would think best acceleration would come at slightly lower rpm's where the max torque numbers are higher.

      I would assume increase it, anytime you can correct the lean conditions or rich conditions present on most all.stock bikes, the engine will be happier and healthier.
