Dude is JACKED bucko! Nice work. Thanks for the learning sesh! Just getting into custom audio in my FJ Cruiser, and I want to learn everything I can to make the most intelligent choice in matching my sub to amp power.
Curious question. I have a Mechman 320Amp Alternator running 5 XsPower D3100 batteries. It is okay that many batteries for the alternator to charged it up ? It looks fine on my two voltmeters 14.4 when is off and 13.8 to 14.0 running the system
I know there are different ways to set the gain on an amplifier. You can use oscilloscope, DD1, or multimeter. But if you use a multimeter, and use the square root of power times resistance, you get a different voltage on 2 ohms from 4 ohms. But if you use the DD1 or oscilloscope, you only have one gain setting. Does that make one of the methods wrong?
A bit late to the party, hope this'll still help. I've been settings gains with a portable oscilloscope for years, from experience it's not the most accurate thing (For SQ purposes), if all you're doing is tuning as a daily then go for it, I recently picked up a DD1+, and a CC1, tuning has become much easier since I work on a bunch of amps weekly. Just a rule of thumb I used was whenever tuning with an oscilloscope I just bump it down a hair just to be sure. Good luck!
I am wondering about sound quality. Will playing a sub at 2 ohm is a balance between 1 ohm and 4 ohm? My amplifier can do 1 ohm, but will that change the necessary power from my electrical system I have setup for 2 ohms? I ask because I like to take full advantage of my amplifiers overall power, but I don't want to have to be changing it out because the amplifier is under more stress. But again, I want more watts. Another question. Higher wattage like from 750-2000 require a lower ohm or can I get the same power at 2 ohm or 4 ohm. Doesn't have to be 1 ohm? I am new to car audio and trying to figure out what works best. Thanks
Don't run a 1ohm load. All the cheap amps like the one jp sells recommend using 1ohm. Then when it blows u come back for another one. Also you will be getting distortion with your bass note since you'll most likely be clipping. 2 ohm/4 ohm loads are best. Kicker amp
The old heads in my country actually found the higher ohm loads played louder thru experimenting know a guy running a single sub running at 4ohms not big power but man it BEATS.
Definitely 0 G Or maybe 2 G at smallest. With that 8 G your using you can’t deliver the proper power to that sub . If it was brand new it was probably ok that you did that. Considering when a sub is new there is a break in process. But it still probably needed much more power . To properly break it in before you really start pushing that sub harder. I don’t know if you ever got your answer but that should definitely help you. I have been installing systems for 30+ plus years now. So I definitely know my way around Amps and subs and systems. I still learn new stuff all the time. Things change so much with amps and subs I learn something new daily. Hope everything goes good for you have a wonderful day. Also just remember when you up the wire just make sure you put a big enough in line fuse to protect the Amp. What ever size Amp u use the minimum size fuse that you can use will protect your amp the best. So many people put a huge Fuse by there battery if it’s to big your not protecting the Amp or the car or anything for that matter. Because it will not blow the fuse quick enough. Also or it might not blow at all and could definitely cause a fire definitely possible.

Yes, wiring everything parallel, you can even check with a multimeter, the final impedance should be 1 ohm load. Some ppl run the wires out the box just for amplifier flexibility in case they swap it for a different spec one later

I have a X-15v2 dual 2 ohm's and it is in Parallel to get 1 ohm on my JP8 what is you talking about here :D LOLOL hmm have you heard of a DDM lately you should by one
If one sub yes, but more than one, you can't
@@keithbutler7896 yes you can don’t play yourself like that!
@@got2getit204 yes either 1 or 4 dual 2ohm subs for 1ohm
The times you say "ohm load" you would have said "load impedance" or "impedance."

Alot of nothings is what ur talking😅
This vid was hardly helpful 😂
Rule of thumb. Lower ohm load lower the bass.. higher ohm load it gets to be more punchy and higher bass and that tends to be good for that high bass and id recommend using 10s and 8s for that higher ohm load.
I have two 12’s should I use 4ohm
I have 2 kicker L7 12 2ohm q class on a taramps 1800.1 d 1 ohm I'm trying to figure out if I should I wire them down to one ohm or should I just get the 2 ohm version of the 1800.1 taramps for the best performance? You know anything by chance?
You literally made that up
😂
Could you help me out? I have two 2ohm Skar EVL 12’s on a 2700.1 NVX amp. Could I run them at 1 ohm or only .5ohm? And if I run at .5ohm will it hurt the subs?
You can only wire them at o.5ohm, 2ohm, 4ohm, not 1 ohm
