I laughed because I was taking a screenshot as you was talking and said I'ma hold still so you can take a screenshot felt like he was talking to me at first to funny
Thanks a lot brother most people don’t have dual one ohm subs and your video is the only one I can find for someone who has dual 1ohm speakers thanks a lot
The reason DVC subwoofers have a variety of impedance's is the ability to match your amplifiers minimum Impedance and get maximum wattage! The same is with varied Impedance single voice coil subwoofers, this is where the subwoofer manufacturer is giving you the ability to utilize your amplifier in the most efficient and safe way, without destroying it! People often reverse shop these days buying subs first, when the first thing you should have chosen is a capable but not overpowered amplifier for a desired drivers wattage range, then before ever purchasing your subwoofer/subwoofers choose the size you desire or are limited to, then choose the proper impedance coils so when you wire the amplifier properly to the minimum impedance, it will benefit and you can maximize your power output, without overheating or destroying your investment!
Once again great job on explaining the different types of sub woofer connection setups JP!!! 👍👍👍 Great video it was very educational and also very helpful!!!
could you do a video on how to choose the right amp for subs or the right subs for a amp, if you have one or the other. I want to match the right equipment. keep up the awesome how to videos very helpful for beginners like me..
Awesome explaining of the different ways to wire up subs! Helps a lot and I appreciate it! I’m sure many of us do! #BassHead #TheLifeOfPrice #Down4Sound
Thanks JP YOU JUST HELPED ME OUT BIG TIME with the 1st demonstration I woke up out of my sleep thinking about wiring up my 2 resilient sound gold 15s on a 5000 watt HCCA ORIN thinking about ordering a 1ohm 18 from you JP what 18 would you run on that ORIN amp
Awesome video ive been installing systems in every single vehicle I've had since I was 16. I can installing anything and make it look amazing but I've never taken the time to actually understand how and why it work. I guess it because I'm old 43 ha but it bothers me if I can't figure anything out and I now do my homework on just about anything I can be ocd I now understand how it work you made it simple keep going with the videos I enjoy them
Can these negative to negative and positive to positive connections be made at the outside terminal if the box is separated, each sub has its own enclosed air space. But it is 1 box. Or even at the amp if the monoblock has 2 positives and 2 negatives, they are connected inside the amp
Hi thanks for the video So I have a 2 12 inch subs at 2 ohm each if wired to the final impedance at 2 ohm for both knowing that they 600 rms each will it be 1200 rms total at the final output at 2 ohm or different. The amp I have is skar rp 1500 rms 1 d monobloc It gives 1500 rms stable at 1 ohm and 930 rms at 2 ohm and 550 rms at 4 ohm. My question is if I wire both of them at 2 ohm will it damage the amp know it is rated only at 930 rms at 2 ohm or not ? N B : I have the option to return the subs and get the 4 ohm ones instead at the same power (1200 peak and 600 rms each ) What do you suggest ? thanks a lot
Dude I love your videos man but you should continue on so say I want to run 4 subwoofers all 1ohm DVC subs how do I Hook them up? Best to run two amps an strap them or what? Also say if I had three subs? What would be the best option for that? So ya kinda see what I mean? I understand these videos an love them but yeah just say I want to run more subs? N would It be best to run two amps with more subs etc so yeah just something I've always wanted to know more about thanks JP you the man!!!
You do a very goos job at getting the point across. U should make a series of how to videos, with actual demonstrations as well. I feel like u could get a big response from that. Love ur videos keep it up.
Hey bud appreciate the vid. I just bought a punch 801s 2400 watts. I have 2 15" dvc subs. I want the most power out of them without overheating the amp. What's your thoughts on should i bridge the amp use one channel or both channels?
JP whats you opinion on the difference between 2-D1 and 2-D4 with Amp seeing 1 Ohm load, does either setup effect box rise or amps ability to push power or SQ etc etc....
Let's say I have 2 subs 2 boxes 1 in each box I have them wired to 2 ohms n I run sub 1 positive n negative to one side of the mono block amp n positive n negative sub 2 to the other side that should bring it to 1 ohm?
Hi thanks for this vid I done this to my old set up years back with 2 d4 now I'm upgrading from pioneers sub's to 2d4 evls & a skv2 2500.1 that I order from your store JP now my question is doing this I believe in parallel to achieve 1ohm these Evl terminal are 8g can I use 12g speaker wire to do this I ask because I don't think the 8g will fit dubbled up in there what says you?
Hi can you help me wire up my system. I want two 10” kicker cvx’s. They are offered in DVC 2ohm or 4 ohm. Which is best? What are the differences. Correct me if I’m wrong but the lower the ohm the more power it draws which means sound quality is worse but bass is better. I dont want huge bass but want good bass and sound quality. Should I choose the dvc 2 ohm or the dvc 4 ohm. Which amp should I get for 2 10” kicker cvx’s and should I wire in series or parallel
So how do I do this without using a jumper wire? Basically the two wires won't fit into my terminal. So I'm trying to figure out how to connect the wires outside of the terminals on the subwoofer
Really don't mean to nit pic, but I wanted to point out just as a little FYI to help you. Ohm load is the resistance. 8ohms has more resistance than 1ohm. Not the other way around. Transistors respond to current draw and resistance reduces current. The lower the ohm load, the more current draw there is. Too high of resistance and the transistors can't switch correctly. This is why there is a minimum and maximum ohm rating. Too much resistance and there's not enough current draw to make the transistors switch enough to work as built. Too low and your basically shorting out the amp.
John Gebman wrong, 1 ohm is closer to being a dead short than 8 ohms meaning more resistance, 8 ohms is closer to being open, meaning less resistance. Im an electrician by trade, and audiophile on the side.
What if i wire each 4 ohm dvc to a 2 ohm in a single box and do the same with same exact sub and i end up with 2 positives and 2 negatives will i still get a 1 ohm load if i plug both positives and both negatives to the amp? Or do i have to jump from one sub to the other? Or do i get more power if i jump one sub to the other?
+Wicked Airbrshing a dual output monoblock is internally the same as a one channel amp. If you have two voice coils and you put one on each set of terminals on that amp then you will be wiring in parallel and taking your ohm load to a lower number value exactly half of what one voice coil would be. Example: so if your sub is a 4 ohm dvc sub you will end up with a 2 ohm load. The only reason monoblock amps have two positive and two negative terminals is for ease of wiring with either one dvc sub or multiple subs of any type ie dvc or svc. The positive terminals are connected together inside of the amp and the negative terminals are also connected internally to each other.
If I wire 2 4ohm dvc down to 1ohm and put on one channel and the same for 2 more 4ohm dvc and put on the other channel will I get 1ohm power from the amp or 2 ohm power from the amp..... 2channel mono block amp
hey,my friend insisted on a 5 focal dual 4 ohm 12's to a focal monoblock 1ohm stable amp,i still havent found a wiring diagram to do this configuration, nobody wants to share the info, ive seen diagrams but dont really trust it is correct,i personally wouldve went with 4,but its not my system, please help, its been almost a year and im getting pressured to finish this system
Everytime you put speakers in series you just add the ohm loads up. When you parallel speakers (or multiple sets that the amp sees as one speaker) you must take the ohm load of each speaker and divide it by the number of speakers that are paralleled. For me I have 4 dvc 4ohm subs. I wired the subs to be 8 ohms final load then paralleled them all so my ohm load the amp sees is 1.6 The math is 8 ohms divided by 5 subs or 8/5ths. The math isnt entirely accurate though. Y should always check your final ohm load with a multimeter. My final Ohm load ended up being 1.3 ohms so even better than I hopes for.
If you have two door speakers wired in series and then you have another set wired the same your math will have to be done a tad differently. the amp will only see the series ohm load for each pair when the pairs are in parallel so if the individual speakers were 4 ohms per then your two sets would be 8 and 8 and your math would be 8 ohms divided by 2 sets so a 4 ohm final load. Easy right?
I know I'm late, but can anyone tell me the name of the beat JP used for the intro? By the way, JP great job on the vids. Love your content and your truck. I'm a big fan. #VArepresentin
I think im doing the 2 d4 ohm subs wrong. Im putting a wire when the subs get put in the box im putting a wire in the middle of the subs positive to positive and negative to negative kinda like a X would be. Is that wrong im trying to get a 1ohm load.
Need help.... I was gifted a Sony XM-2100GTX amp and two Rockford Fosgate R2D2-10 Prime R2 DVC 2 Ohm 10-Inch Subs. What is the best way to wire this up??? Any help is appreciated.... I'm guessing Option 2 at 2 Ohm load???
Nothing against JP whatsoever but I have seen a few videos from sonic electronics that goes over tuning amps by ear and with o-scopes and they're very informative.
Hi I know this is an old video but i have a question. What if you wire 2 2ohm subs that are dvc and you wire each of them parrellel so you have 2 x 1ohm load, what does a monoblock amp see that as in ohms?.
I have 2 pioneer sub 400 watt rms dual coil sub at 4 ohm and I have a interfire 2000 suitable 2 ohm 900 watt RMS how I connect them amp hase 2 sub point
I feel like such a idiot. All these years I’ve thought I was running 1ohm with two dual 2ohm subs. But I’ve been running .5 ohm the whole time. And I’ve always always had issues kicking into protect and over heating. I’ve been buying duel 2ohm subs when I’ve needed to be buying two dual 4ohm subs. Lord I need my bass card pulled for at least 6 months. Someone come take my subs away from me. I’ve been a bass head for 20 years and left a trail of amps smh
two 4-Ohm dual-voice coil subs will give you 1-Ohm or 4-Ohm. You can wire each sub to 2-Ohm, but they'd need to go into their own channel on the amp.. so you wouldn't be able to have each sub wired to 2-Ohm connected to a monoblock amp. You'd need a 2-channel amp or a 4-channel amp where each sub is bridged. I'd actually recommend two subs with 4-ohm dual-voice coils. you wire it all in parallel and it goes into the amp as 1-Ohm.
Hiw do I wire 2 dual 4ohm subs to 1 ohm when my sub box has 2 speaker terminals 1 for each speaker and my amp has 4 speaker terminals and I would like to use them all just not sure if I need to wire each sub to 1 ohm which would total 2 ohm then when it connects through the amp the amp should decide it in half to 1 ohm right I think lol, no one seems to make videos using 2 sub box terminals or using all 4 terminals on there amp do i cant find the right video
It's hard to do these videos without making atleast 1 mistake as I've tried myself & never posted 1 because it's so easy to get 1 word mixed up & possibilities of throwing some1 right tf off track lol.... Outstanding job though! You did the damn thing - ima watch this till the end & hope you said at the end "now go do this don't talk about it be about it" I mean it's almost your trademark son ....
No need for anyone else to make this kinda video, all questions were answered!! Great job bro!!!

I've noticed no one has done any videos of 2 dual 1 ohm subs being wired to a 1ohm amplifier! Just a head up💪💪💪💯

Good video. Another easy way to put it for the younger generation, think about each coil as a vape coil. Lmao

How to wire two subs with quad voice coil 4x1ohm to 1canal 1ohm amp? Thank you
LMAO what? what sub has 4VC ?
What amplifier would be the best option for 2 sa 12 DVC 2 ohm subs?
What if you wanna do a iso set up? I have 2 Kicker 10" subs dual voice coil that are 2ohm each that I wanna do in iso to get a final 2ohm out of both!
So how do I do this without using a jumper wire? Basically the two wires won't fit into my terminal. So I'm trying to figure out how to connect the wires outside of the terminals on the subwoofer
i wired my subs in series/parallel and one of my subs get really hot and the other one stays cold. What's going on?
Can you draw how are you going to wire your 6 subwoofers in the Hoe4.Neo to 4 Sundown Audio Amps??

HOW TO WIRE TWO DUAL VOICE COIL SUBS!!! SHARE IT!
THELIFEOFPRICE where your shop at , in ms huh?
You should do a video of the same but for mids.👌👍
can you please show us how to wire 2 dvc subs to a duel output mono block i cant find videos on it anywhere

i can not find a recone coil kit for this model but in 15 any help pleas?
So say if u have 2 1000 watt subs. Dvc @ 2 ohms each. Do I need an amp that gives out 1000 or 2000 since there’s 2. Will it split the power evenly?
Thank you jp these are very helpful!!
Kaleb Delong thank you Kaleb
Great video! Thanks! Can you wire two DVC 4 ohm speakers to get 2 ohm load?
No. You can to get a 1 ohm or 4 ohm but not 2 ohm
If I wire 2 4ohm dvc down to 1ohm and put on one channel and the same for 2 more 4ohm dvc and put on the other channel will I get 1ohm power from the amp or 2 ohm power from the amp..... 2channel mono block amp
Mono block amplifiers are one channel only. You would get 1/2 or .5 ohms.
hey,my friend insisted on a 5 focal dual 4 ohm 12's to a focal monoblock 1ohm stable amp,i still havent found a wiring diagram to do this configuration, nobody wants to share the info, ive seen diagrams but dont really trust it is correct,i personally wouldve went with 4,but its not my system, please help, its been almost a year and im getting pressured to finish this system
So will ur first example work with skar subs the zvx15 to be specific
I hav e2 xfl dual 2 ohm and they are direct lead subs so how do I even do any of this :{
Would it be possible for me to wire 1 12” subwoofer that puts out 1ohm in parallel to match an amp that needs 2ohms?
Can u please do sub 1 ohm diagrams or at least .5 . Thanks JP
So on all of these.....there is only one positive and one negative speaker wire going to the amp ...correct?
Got any vids mid range speakers wiring? Like wiring 6 speakers on a door with 2 tweeters.
Varun Narinesingh that would be awesome that way we can get some clarification on wiring multiple speaker's and staying on the correct ohm load 👍

Same thing all positive to negative negative to positive or parallel positive to positive
How would I wire my subs if I have a 4 ohm sub and a 2 ohm sub both duel voice coil and using a mono block amp
I would swap one of them out independence would not be correct
You will get 3 ohms or 6 ohms
I know I'm late, but can anyone tell me the name of the beat JP used for the intro? By the way, JP great job on the vids. Love your content and your truck. I'm a big fan. #VArepresentin
You should make one on how to wire 4 😳😳
Hey jp I did what you said but My subs are kinda moving at different paces ?
oky you mean when one flexes the other retracts cuz if so the polarities need to be adjusted
Great video! Everything I needed to know was in it.
You stopped right where I needed to see: How to wire 2-8ohm DVC subs to get 4 ohms.
OK...I got 2 Sundown Ev4 15s and a SFB2000.1 amp......How do I want to wire these?
how do u wire 2 dual vc to a 4 channel amp, can u bridge two chanels and go from there.Or u use 2channels not bridged, wired parallel
What would be better sound quality? .5 ohm 1ohm 4ohm etc etc?
Thanks for the vid fixed my problem ur a g
I think im doing the 2 d4 ohm subs wrong. Im putting a wire when the subs get put in the box im putting a wire in the middle of the subs positive to positive and negative to negative kinda like a X would be. Is that wrong im trying to get a 1ohm load.
Thanks for a great video. My head is spinning over my t1d4 12s I can't figure then out.
Hey JP it's time for another driver threw restaurant video
Need help.... I was gifted a Sony XM-2100GTX amp and two Rockford Fosgate R2D2-10 Prime R2 DVC 2 Ohm 10-Inch Subs. What is the best way to wire this up??? Any help is appreciated.... I'm guessing Option 2 at 2 Ohm load???
David van Bakel yes wire to 2 ohm
Sometime can you go over tuning amps?
Nothing against JP whatsoever but I have seen a few videos from sonic electronics that goes over tuning amps by ear and with o-scopes and they're very informative.
Hi I know this is an old video but i have a question.
What if you wire 2 2ohm subs that are dvc and you wire each of them parrellel so you have 2 x 1ohm load, what does a monoblock amp see that as in ohms?.
You will get 2ohm load at the amp
If you wire each to parellel then brigde them you get 2 ohm
How about a single sub 2 olm dual voice coil. Does it work same of only.runnimg 1 sub?????
How do i wire two dual 4 ohm subs to 1 ohm and connect to my mono amp that has 2 neg n 2 pos. Thans
Did you figure it out?
I have a SAE 2000 what would be the best way to wire it I have 2 d4 sa
I have 2 pioneer sub 400 watt rms dual coil sub at 4 ohm and I have a interfire 2000 suitable 2 ohm 900 watt RMS how I connect them amp hase 2 sub point
Why you dont do 2 subs 2 coils 4 ohms to 2 ohm
How to make two SUB's(6ohm) wire in Series+ Parallel but with 4 output instead 2 ?
What kind of wire do you use?
what if you have a dvc 8 0hms and set in parallel will i get 2 0hms?
I have 4 soundqubed level 4 subs how can I wire them down to 1ohm load
Cedric Alexander wire down to quarter ohm and have sufficient reserve

I feel like such a idiot. All these years I’ve thought I was running 1ohm with two dual 2ohm subs. But I’ve been running .5 ohm the whole time. Hi i have 2 dual 2 ohm subs and 1 ohm amp , how to connect them?
You cant
Can only wire down to .5 ohm I recommend if your reserve is sufficient
I had zv5 15 d1x 4 and DC 10.0k please I need your help how to wire them thanks
What about 1.5 dual voice coil subs like jL audio?
Is it not possible to wire 2 D4 ohm subs down to 2 ohms. I've seen several wiring diagrams. Not sure which one is can use!
two 4-Ohm dual-voice coil subs will give you 1-Ohm or 4-Ohm.
@@GlycerinZ I’m screwed
I heard it is ok to hook up only one side of a speaker to get more wiring options is still capable of the same amount of wattage
on a dual voice coils subwoofer, you would be using half of the coil so you could only give that sub half of the rated power.
You need professional help. Or watch 10+ hours of wiring subs and amps on here from multiple different channels.
How do I wire two dual 4 subs to 2 ohms?
keedawee746 you cant
Jacbybentril really?
Can you wired the dual 2 to .8?

I got 2 dual 2 ohm subs, and I will have them running on 2 amps so how can I run them and stay at one ohm?
one sub on each amp by itself with both voice coils ran in parallel so + to + to pos on amp then - to - to neg on amp.
