have a flair 58 for almost a year now. Love the pressure profile and experimenting you can try with it for the price. Recent discovery is using a paper filter at the bottom, this lets me grind finer and have a cleaner cup. I also preheat my unit with the lever all the way up to lock more of the heat. More videos!
@@martinqui AP filters you'll have to cut down to size. Did this for a few tries and it's just tiresome. Also bought a circle puncher at 58.5 and tried cutting v60 abaca filters (also a hassle) what I ended up doing is buying 100 peso filters from shopee and that did the trick. Just search espresso paper filters. They're priced 1php/filter. It's specd at 58mm but truly around +1mm both sides. you can push it a bit for tight fitting. I started wetting them but also a hassle so now I just use them dry. Can't find any difference with the wet ones. Oh what a hobby we have.
@@martinqui Great vid, was just looking for a local Flair58 review 👍🏻 Thought I could return a small favour by responding to your qn; If you’re concern about only using food-safe paper, you could consider Cafelat 58mm filters (easily available here in Sg) Fits perfectly, and has allowed me to pull 6bar shots using finer grinds with minimal astringency.
