- This video is like a stream-of-consciousness video not exactly a how-to... I have some experience working with wigs to fix them up but am not an expert by any means!! I have been told OVER AND OVER again that it is helpful to just watch me try things and play with wigs, so that is what I am doing here.... some things you will try in the beginning won't always work the way you hope, but the point is to just DO IT! Budget-friendly wigs like this are PERFECT for practicing on and learning. Each time you try something you will learn new things and get better, so get in there and practice!!

○ Front of Hairline to nape of neck (over top of head)= 12.75" (average is 14.25")
○ Ear to ear over top of head= 13" (average is 13.5)

This was so helpful. I've had alopecia totalis for decades. I mostly wear human hair wigs, or headwraps - sometimes I go au natural. I am just starting to experiment with synthetics and HD synthetics, so this was really helpful, because I was not sure what kinds of tools to use on them. Thanks for doing this.
Hand tied wigs can also come with challenges! Ihave been disappointed, of late, of the Raquel Welch wigs I have procured. Box hair falling forward has been the issue. Solvable, but when one pays this much, I don’t want to have to mess with it so much! (And these are new-ish styles!) Ok, rant over. Your tips are very helpful, Denise👍🏻

Gorgeous color, I think the dead giveaway on this one is the amount of bangs width wise across the forehead (from ear to ear). There’s not enough and the pieces framing the face could do with being shortened (like a long fringe) for a softer and more smooth transition to the bangs.
Currently, the hair framing the face being the same length as the rest of the hair makes the style look heavy and the transition (or lack of) to the bangs severe.

I have a wig that I purchased that has that plasticy part in the middle and what I did was I actually took the curling wand That's for wigs and I lifted it up at the root and created a little Height and then I got in there with my fingers and scratched the root are a little bit and pulled it up and then sprayed some got tomething in there I think it was got to be glued hair spray & it totally made it more realistic😊

You did a great job with that wig, I'm kinda chuckling though, with all of the tools needed to transform this "budget" wig into a wearable one. 1 razon, 1 pair of sheers, three styling tools and viola.😁.
LOL!! That is TOTALLY the challenge with Budget friendly wigs... they are rarely shake and go! So it is a trade off (like EVERYTHING)... you can pay more for a much more shake and go, realistic looking wig, or less and work with it. Glad we have choices!

You really should not have to apologise Denise for saying Caucasion because there is no other way of describing Caucasion. Why are people so offended over nothing in this politicaly correct world we now live in. We should never be offended over something that isn't offensive at all.
That goes for not playing music because it may offend!!!! We should all be allowed to say whatever we want so long as it isn't offensive. I was born in a different age, it was a different world back then.
On a brighter note, I love watching your videos, you are helping so many. You come across as being a lovely kind person too.

What hair spray do you use to control your style when it’s very windy? Will regular hair spray damage a synthetic wig?

I'm a potential wig wearer, but feel some shame. I've lost a lot of hair, especially on top, due to multiple health issues throughout the years. I have a 22.5 inch circumference per my measurement. I don't have a lot of money and don't know where to start. I have a wavy lob and also straighten my hair. What Bob wig, that is heat friendly would you recommend? Would a wig cap make less head pressure than a wig grip? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
I have a Paula young wigs that is really thick on top. It looks stupid. How can i fix it. Im disappointed because it was 130. 00

Unfortunately I don't. I just can't seem to master curling a heat friendly wig. I have tried and tried and it never turns out well for me.

My new wig kept shedding. What do I do? Cannot return as I had trimmed it.
Some budget wigs shed a lot and there really isn't much that can be done, unfortunately. I'm so sorry I don't have a solution.

Yes, steam would work as well! I do mention that in the video and even show my steam briefly, lol... I chose not to use steam in this one because I was hoping to keep a little bit of the wave, but it is definitely a viable option.

What skin tone are you?
I have a slight olive tone to my complexion, some people mistake me for being Greek... I am not but that is because of the olive tone to my skin.
