Thanks Denise. I'm a 10 year now topper wearer. I'm just now branching out to wigs. Still end up going back to my toppers a lot especially in summer. I like to put my hair up in them and ponytails. The wig napes and ear tabs annoy me. One thing I wanted to share is about tape attachment. I have similar hair loss to yours. I take the clips out and use hairpiece tape at the front of the toppers and curved bobby pins for the sides and sometimes back, pinning the topper base to what there is of my hair. It's very secure. If I'm doing something active I add a headband for extra measure. The tape doesn't bother me at all. You can use 91% rubbing alcohol to remove the tape when you're ready. I also have ThinHairThick wig grips with halo wires like you showed. I sometimes tape the topper to the wig grip if I know I'm not going to want to wear it a long time. Otherwise, I sometimes wear my human hair toppers taped to my scalp 24/7, usually for about 3 days. Now I do think the tape has caused traction alopecia in my front area but my hair was super thin there anyway and since I don't expect to ever have hair there again, I accept it. You can shave a spot on your hair for the tape as well. I also want to share I have some synthetic toppers from Hair Kitty Kitty and they have great coverage all around. Almost wig level coverage. I hope some of this helps people. Sherry
Yes your comment was very helpful. I'm also a rookie and it is quite an expensive journey. I am so self conscious of density. I want the lowest density possible. Any suggestions?
@wandahodgson4282 I like low density too. I'm 60 and want to look natural. I used to get custom human hair toppers ordered thru a salon but I've been on my own since the pandemic. Belle Tress and Godiva's Secret synthetic toppers seem to have low density. I can't wear them because I can tell they don't have enough coverage for me in the back. I basically need the topper to be my hair because mine is so thin. I avoid permatease! Jon Renau usually are natural density for me, but I'm not crazy about their fibers sometimes, mine haven't held up well. For human hair I'd look for 120% density as opposed to 130% which is the more typical. I always have to thin them out anyway though with thinning shears. They're always VERY flat on top, too flat for my liking but that's the way they are, I use styling product and hang them upside down to dry. Serenity Wigs and Toppers sometimes have 120%, great quality but their prices have gone up. I haven't tried Uniwigs but they also offer lower density. Their prices are about as good as you can get. A good quality human hair topper will last years if you take care of it and rotate them with other ones. I watch a lot of videos! Patti's Pearl's and Wig Studio 1 have the most honest and helpful so far for me. I hope that helps, good luck to you. Sherry
@sidl9357 I didn’t know about curved bobby pins - how do you use them? Do you put them thru the topper first as if they’re clips, then into your bio-hair or do you clip them overtop of the topper thru to your bio-hair?
Congratulations for offering yourself as a model and not shying off showing your thinning hair on the scalp... you are very pretty indeed with all the confidence to promote what you are projecting
After menopause, my hair loss really accelerated. I stopped dying my hair to keep breakage and damage to a minimum. I know I’m not alone in my search for gray and salt/pepper toppers. Add to that, naturally curly hair like mine and the availability just isn’t there. We are definitely an underserved market! I don’t want to go back to coloring just so I can find toppers. Wig makers are missing a huge market!! And we have the money to spend!
Yep. I've had hair loss for decades but now being post meno, my hair has gotten VERY thin. I'm to the point where I need to seriously consider a topper, extensions, or full wig. But, my hair is very salt and pepper gray with random other colors and very hard to match.
I’m with you ladies! I’ve seen some Rachel Welch toppers that I love among others but nothing to blend with my hair. Like you said, the market is here! In my town, there are tons of wig stores for women of color but not for Caucasian women. I’m always asking people if they know of any or any places locally who make custom wigs/toppers. No luck so far.😢
I feel like you just posted about my story! Between menopause, multiple chronic illnesses, my migraine preventative, and being put on chemo drug for my lupus. This year, my thin hair has gone from bad to worse. I did break down and got some lowlights added twice this past year. I do have pretty silver in my hair, but it was looking like I had no hair at all. 😢
Have you considered using natural dye like henna and indigo? It does not ruin your hair and it thickens it giving it shine and reducing frizziness It could be a solution to find a color matching topper
Hi Denise, I have male pattern baldness, a 74 year old lady, the only one in my family, msle or female, who has ever had this for 20 years now. I do have a topper whjch is awesome. Thank you for your video.
I’ve been loosing my hair for a month now because of a sickness and antibiotics. It is discouraging but it has given me hope knowing I’m not the only person going through this. Thank you for educating me on toppers. You are beautiful and God bless you!! Keep up the great work!!
Thank you soo very much!!! I am 76 and have been losing my hair consistently since I was in my early 40's.... Now I am learning about Toppers and will keep watching to find more info. Thanks again for all your valuable information. ❤
You look fifteen years younger in that shoulder length dark hair. It makes your eyes pop and warms your skin tone. I know it’s a topper but a full wig in that style would look amazing on you.
I started wearing a topper a couple of years ago. I was going to wear it only occasionally but I wear my topper daily now. People honestly don't know that it's not my own hair - well, it is my own, I paid for it. I have thinning hair due to age and hormone changes, I think. I did buy a wig a couple of months ago but much prefer the topper. It's synthetic but exactly the same colour as my bio hair (which is silver). I 'wore out' the first and have bought 2 snce. They've been a game changer for me and I get so many compliments on my hair now. I'm a huge topper fan.
May I ask where you bought the silver topper? I think my hair would be considered platinum (it has a bit of yellow tint (I don't like that but it's what I have, lol). I got a ponytail elastic bun type thing that matches pretty well but it looks so fake.
@@nancylove7911 I'm sorry it took me so long to reply! I don't know what brand my topper is - I've bought them from a stylist in Alberta, Canada who has worked with a lot of women with hair loss due to cancer treatments or alopecia. I think I might see if there are others that match my colour that are a little different style but honestly it looks great and I've had people ask me if I've just had my hair done. Even my own hairstylist couldn't tell until she was up close to me. It's brilliant! I'm afraid to order online because I'm not sure the colours would match so well but it's really tempting.
My sister was just diagnosed with cancer and my daughter unfortunately has the thinning hair of all of the women in our family x10. I watched your video and you were great! You were fast, to the point, sweet, caring and informative. I really felt like I gained alot of information from you. I'm sharing this video with both of them ASAP! Thank you so much! God bless you!
Check out my post on for oils that will help grow hair I have cancer and I use this and my hair grew back you use argon oil castor oil olive oil and coconut oil equal amounts of each into a container put it into your hair dry leave it in overnight rinse it out the next morning use your shampoo and conditioner and keep doing this process as much as you want because it’s all natural oils and you will see your hair growing back so will your daughters this works I researched it for a year and everyone can afford this it’s better than using chemicals on your hair because this is all natural oils give it a try coconut oil olive oil castor oil and Oregon oil equal amounts If you can braid the hair then braid the hair and it’ll keep the oil in longer and be more effective it’s effective anyway but just braiding it keeps it from drying out Even if it dries out it’s still affecting the roots and the hair shaft the coconut oil helps grow hair returns hair to natural colour are going to oil helps with split ends and shine cast or helps with growth and olive oil is a deep conditioner so give it a try you will not be sorry that you’ve tried this I hope this helps it help me my hair is down to my waist now
Thank you for the info…i have thinning hair now and going gray all over.still coloring my hair which im so tired of…im 71,from the phils ..i’ll try this oil remedy but doubt if i can find argon oil here…hopeful this works for me😢
Lol. I am 80 now, but when I was in my 20s, we called those wiglets. I would get a Vidal Sassoon haircut and put the wiglets over it and I had awesome height and curls. Check out those mod pictures from the 60s. I wish those would come back. Maybe the toppers are the same thing.
This woman speaks my language! Wiglet! I too am in my nearly eighty year of life and recall Vidal and all the clever ways of adding hair! Never knew I would need these additions so badly.
Thank you Denise...I am just starting on this journey...I am 69 and have increasing hairloss most likely aging and hormonal...you have given me so much useful information, I really appreciate what you do❤
I’ve always had fine thin hair where you could see my scalp. I’m 64 now and in the last 5 years it is thinning more. In the last year I’ve been looking at getting a wig but heard they were hot. Never heard of toppers before but this looks like it might be a good solution for me. Thankyou for this information about something I knew nothing about.❤
I could not believe your hair loss. My hair loss is on the top and is due to thyroid issues. I barely have any body hair either. I began wearing wigs in 2009. I live in Florida and they do get hot but that is just the way it is. I wear synthetic because I do not lose the curl in humid or rainy weather. Living on a fixed income I can not afford the wigs I really want but it is what it is. I turned 75 last Saturday. You are so lovely.
Some women including myself have taken wigs and made them into toppers. That way it gives you more options. There are lots of videos out there on TH-cam that show you how to do it.
You have helped me so much with this video! It is really difficult to know how to deal with the emotions and issues that come with losing your hair, and know how to find a solution that works. Thank you so much ❤
I just found your channel through this video. *SUBSCRIBED!* Between menopause and the C 🦠, I have started thinning in the front and at my part. I have been SO distressed because I can see scalp. I have baby, BABY fine, thin hair anyway. So, this has been like adding insult to injury. Thank you SO MUCH! You're doing God's work! 😄
I so love how you explain things Denise! ❤ I got my mom an iPad and subscribed her to your channel so she can learn from you now that she’s started wearing wigs. Her hair loss is very similar to yours, and I am being preemptive and am already using wigs and learning from you more and more every video. Blessings 🙏
Denise , this 73 grandmother has been told I have a wig on with my own hair , even the hairdresser told me to take my wig off recently to get a perm..I have to thin mine out all the time..I love the wigs you love too have watched u for awhile..
Many thanks for this Denise! In the cooler months I find wigs are easier, but in warmer weather, I am so grateful for toppers. I am fortunate to have a stylist who has been with me throughout my journey, and she colours my bio hair (my thinning is top/front) to match my topper as I have grey in my bio hair. She is also happy to cut in bangs or trim synthetics for me if I pre-check with her to make sure the appointment time is long enough and that she has some old scissors with her on the day. Synthetic hair dulls scissors very quickly, and as professional scissors are expensive I am quite happy to have her use old scissors on my synthetics. So it's worth asking your stylist if they are willing and able to trim your topper for you with advanced notice. I will also say - my favourite topper at the moment is an 18" Jon Renau Top Coverage which has been trimmed to around 14" and given bangs, but it is very true that longer length synthetics look scruffy on the ends sooner than shorter ones. I use the Jon Renau #3 HD Smooth Detangler daily and wash it regularly with JR shampoo and conditioner for synthetics, and only use the JR wide tooth comb, and I've managed to get 6 months so far out of this one.
I wear toppers. A great high density topper is Jon Renau Smart Wave 18". My bio hair (I still have quite a bit) doesn't show through in the back. I've worked with this one, cut bangs, thinned, steam straightened, darkened the roots...haha. It's basically a 'custom' topper now. Thank you for many tips that helped me achieve the perfect topper! 😘😘
Thank you for your tips. I just recently started wearing a hair topper and you have been more helpful than the wig salon where I purchased my topper. I have curly bio hair and it was a chore finding something that blended with my own hair. You have been most helpful.
You are such an inspiration Denise! And your beautiful! Just starting my wig journey and learning so much from you. Just bought the iRestore helmet as a last resort. Need toppers while I give it a chance to work. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Denise, I thought your presentation was really well done carefully thought out and I subscribe to your channel because I think you’re great and wonderful introduction to the world of wigs for us ladies who need it thank you
I am an older woman with pain and with all the useless medications I’ve taken my poor hair has suffered too. You sound so confident about wearing hair pieces and I am so diffident lest it should blow off or something else. Good for you that you are so confident. I just want a topper.
You are awesome! Everything you are saying is just soooo true, you bring so much positive energy and kindness. I have recently (two months ago) started wearing a topper and its been more than a stressful adjustment. It is very helpful to see you talking about it all. Thank you.
Toppers r wonderful! Any wig or hairpiece is a blessing when one needs one! They are so life changing! Thank you! I have sewn my own wigs for 30 yrs. now! Thank you for your tips!
I had formaldehyde poisoning & it started my hair loss last year. I lost about 2/3 of my hair & was heart broken. I tried different things & the shininess of the hair pieces really turned me off as you could easily see it wasn’t my hair. I just found your video & I found myself smiling while watching. There is a way to address this & I am so happy I found your channel!
Sending you huge hugs!! There are LOTS of options on this journey and while some wigs can be shiny, that isn't true for all of them! Look into heat friendly synthetics if you don't want to go the human hair route... they are always much less shiny and often not shiny at all!
Would you tell me how you got that kind of poisoning? I got it back in the 70's as a meat wrapper in grocery store and it caused my baby to be stillborn. Sorry to hear about your hairloss.
Thank you for sharing this. These are definitely more challenging but still can be just all you need to look like yourself again. They wear so much longer than a wig, too Once you can find the right color and style blend, you need to buy a couple. They make your life so much better!
I'm loving the blonde on you Denise! You are SUCH a beautiful lady! Thank you as always for all the great information!! I have been wanting to try a topper for so long now. I have only purchased two wigs so far and I am definitely struggling. You are sooooo right about the newness and the shock of seeing yourself with hair after going so many years with thinning hair. I know I'll figure this whole journey out eventually but its so nice to have someone like you to gleen from! Thank you for all that you do! 💜💜💜
I also wanted to share if you run hot like I do, the silk top human hair is the hottest! So many of them are silk these days. The smaller the base you can manage and open wefting if they even have wefting the cooler and less density. I don't personally get hung up on scalp and parts. Denise has some great tips on disguising them. I prefer lace, mono, or skin bases. I also get toppers longer than my bio hair and trim them. The toppers become my hair in the way wigs do, my bio hair is just how I attach them. It's really the only reason I don't buzz it 😉 I think trying to match short toppers with your bio hair is tough texture and color wise, for me pretty impossible. The short tops seem to be denser looking too. Hope that's helpful. Sherry
I love this!! Great tips!! Personally, I don't really like silk top wigs. They are so bulky and the hair hangs in the face so much more than with lace top wigs.
Thank you so much for the valuable information. I just found your channel. Thank you too for being so transparent about your own hair loss. I appreciate your kindness.
This is such a great video for anyone wanting to try toppers! I’ve purchased so many toppers thinking they’d work for me. Unfortunately, I’ve not been able to wear them. This information would have been so helpful when I was considering toppers. It would have saved me a considerable amount of money. Thank you for addressing the many challenges (and benefits) toppers offer. I know this will be beneficial to many women who may want an alternative to wearing full wigs🙏♥✨
If you have a problem with hair growth try using Argon oil castor oil coconut oil and olive oil combine these into equal amounts put it in your hair just after dinner it will soak into your hair before you go to bed rinse out the next day and repeat as many times as you want you can keep it in the fridge it will melt in your hand when you want to use it and saturated through dry hair do not put it in wet hair and keep doing this as many times as you want and you will grow hair castor oil grows hair and olive oil is a deep Conditioner coconut oil grows hair and returned your hair back to the natural colour and Argon oil is for shine and split ends use this as many times as you want and you will grow hair it’s guaranteed I researched it for a year
Hi Denise! Hey wig sister(s)!! What a great video! Love your videos Denise! So informative and you just make me feel like I’m not alone in my feelings and struggles. Thank you!! ❤️💜💚
You explain everything so well...really easy flow and I've learned alot. I'm on my way n losing hair due to autoimmune meds. So many sites and I felt so overwhelmed and couldn't follow what they were saying.. it's complicated and my concern about not wearing real hair or synthetic that will boil my head n body. I hope that exists. I'll be watching your videos. Thx for sharing your challenges n knowledge to help others !
Denise I used to have a topper. My hair was thin but I didn’t have bald spots. The lady measured the crown on my head. It was as long as my own hair. The length of the hair on the topper was 16 in. The cap had open areas where us could pull your own hair through to blend in the topper hair & your hair. I loved it. At first they braided my hair on top the size of the cap and weaved my hair to the braid part. Now my hair actually is showing wide areas on the front so I can’t weave anything. I can clip. I’m devastated. I’m finally at the point I need a topper . The topper I had I wish I had it it got lost when I moved. I’m going to my grandsons wedding in 4 days . The place I went to has closed now. I don’t no where to go . I need a topper the same length so I can pull it together make a French roll, ponytail.. I might be able to wear it down. I used to be blond. My natural hair was med brown. Now it is it looks like the brown is gone maybe dark grey with light grey on sides. Weird color lol. Ty for sharing.
Denise your videos are always so informative! You are so gracious to help your Wig Sisters. Im very curious about Toppers and will likely try one at some point!
I’m 48 and have had thinning hair in my crown for 19 years . Now that I’m in peri menopause I’m seriously considering a topper. Can I just say that the first wig you have on in this video looks great. When I see it, I think that’s her hair. It looks so natural and good on you. Anyway, I have to make a choice soon I guess. Thanks for the videos and I subscribed. 😊
Thank you so much for all the information. I am starting to educate myself about toppers. Lots to consider. You are a beautiful, honest person (I can tell). By the way your make-up looks great. Any eyebrow suggestions? Thank you.
I am so so happy that I found you Denise. I love the topper but not the clip so I am going to try a wig but do not know where to buy. I live in Alberta CANADA. Can you help?
You have shared an abundance of knowledge here, especially for those of us who are just starting out. I agree, when you do start out, to give your brain time to re adjust. Thank you kindly Denise
Thank you so much! I’ve been watching a lot of videos about hair loss options & toppers etc. and yours is way more helpful & informative than any I’ve seen. New sub 😊. It’s like as soon as I hit my mid 50’s, I went from being pretty healthy all my life to dealing with multiple chronic illnesses. Among them I developed severe IBD which resulted in an ostomy, so I don’t absorb nutrients properly & have deficiencies, I also have hyperthyroidism & I’m anemic. All of which have lead to marked hair loss. It’s very bad in my crown area, but it’s become quite thin on the sides also. I’ve always had fine hair texture, so that hasn’t helped either. All the questions I had from the clips to measuring and questions I didn’t know I had.. you answered everything! It’s been a difficult few years for sure & losing my hair has been the tip of the iceberg. Having this information is a huge help! Thank you 🙏
You can also make toppers out of wigs. I cut them down and sew in clips. They should be open wefted though so you can see the wefts as you trim. Ive made them for myself and for others.
Hi. Am encouraged by the video to try a topper. No one can see the wefted cap ( of either a wig or topper)? I work in an office with bright lights . What's a good first topper that's comfy & not hot . Most likely not human hair so to keep cost down as a first topper and to get an idea where to go from there . And do you have at least 2 of the same topper/wig just so you won't be caught without a wig because you discover that it needed a wash afterall. ..etc. Thx.
Thank you so much for your fantastic video. I am just starting out on this journey and it is very daunting! However after watching your video it has given me hope and makes me realise I am not alone. Thank you and for all your advice and links x
Thx Denise for the best hair topper video ever! I did not grasp the web site that you recommended and know it was be very wirwhile. Please share! Also you look 20 years younger, the chestnut color looks great with your eyes!
Thank you for your help. You answered all my questions. Brought my toppers and after a couple of months found my hair was getting damaged. So put the toppers away. They cost a lot Of money. Now I have the inspiration to try again with the band. Happy Days can get Mrs Glam back! Marilyn getting older .Ireland
Hello Denise. Thank you so very much for all the interesting information you just gave me. I knew toppers existed, but I never saw them. I used to have healthy, thick hair, and people, even strangers, now and then complimented me. Then, 7 months of heavy chemotherapy took half of my hair. I still miss my beautiful hair, but naturally being healthy is the main thing. I have shiny, healthy-looking light brown hair reaching nearly my shoulders and I can comb it nicely. The problem is that my white scalp can be seen on top of my hair in some places and a topper might hide it. I put on a lighter full wig occasionally and the nice compliments I get are only positive. In the summertime, a wig is too hot. During my cancer treatment, I found a half wig in my own color and wore it at work. No one realized it was not my own hair. Never seen one ever since. Have you seen this style: A velvet hairband with medium-long hair attached to it? It really looked as if I had only put a hair-band into my hair. As I had lost more hair right in the front part of my head, it was easy to pull pieces of hair from further back to the front, cut bangs (fringe) and the rest looked just fine. - Thank you and warm regards from northern Europe.
Thank you, Denise! I needed that kind of video for very long time. Put on “save” box, will study on my spare time. And I’m sure I will have many questions to ask. Thank very much!!!
Thank you for all the information about toppers …… I’ve been using toppers for at least ten years. I was able to get a human hair gray one that my beautician colored to match my bio hair…..but the hair sellers closed and I wasn’t able to purchase that topper anymore. I have natural curly hair so I’m now shopping for a similar one because now I’m graying….. still your video was fantastic! ❤
Denise, I came across your ytube video regarding toppers! I am balding on the top of my head….several years, even had the top of my scalp tattooed so my head would not look so shiny. Had hair extensions, wigs and toppers etc. I just got fitted for a non surgical hair topper. They will shave the top portion of my head and glue the topper on my head. Will have to have it replace monthly. I hope I am making the right decision! Thank you for your video!
I stumbled upon this video and am so glad that I did. My hair is very similar to yours and I have been considering a topper. I was shocked when you took off your wig because it looked so natural. I was also thrilled to see you so confident and willing to help others with a similar issue. I am very self conscious and get emotional thinking about doing anything about my hair. Will it look natural, will it be obvious that I have something on? It is crazy that I am 60 years old and concerned that I will be made fun of for wearing one. Just me sharing my deepest fears here. I really like the idea of the topper vs a wig but would rather try them on before making a definite purchase. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
It's so important to measure your area of loss. You need a base size that is 1" larger both ways so you clip into healthy hair. If it's not secure, it will pull and cause pain and damage. If you use clips, move them around occasionally (they're just sewn in) to try to prevent traction alopecia.
I have three toppers , one being human hair and skimpy, and two synthetic , my two synthetic’s are my favorite , my friends cannot see where my hair and the topper starts , it is great for my bad hair days , or windy or humid days , I have wigs too , the toppers get the most use with me !!❤You have the most informative videos!!
I just found your channel and have subscribed. Thank you for so much helpful information. I loved your lip gloss; do you mind sharing the color and name with me. It looks beautiful on you. Thanks
Great explanations! I have thinning in the part and just purchased Seamless fill in’s from Luxy. I did buy a topper but am having that looks wiggy issue. Oh wow i love the band topper.
Thankyou this is wonderful information, by the way you look beautiful in the darker colors, lovely In blond also, I suffered a medica mishap and lost a big amount of top hair, I have plenty of back hair but you can see pink scalp if the wind blows,,,, I would definitely try the thin hair thick hair topper,,,this is a great start thank you...
Random question please Denise: What kind of microphone are you using for this video please? The sound quality is amazing! And I am starting a TH-cam channel and want to start strong. And Sound quality is paramount. Thank you in advance!
Denise you are do beautiful. Even if you didn't wear a wig it doesn't change your beautiful face. You so pretty. I have the Alopecia so i have to wear the wigs. Any way our beauty come from the hearts. and your natural beautiful and you got the natural beauty lady. Thanks for sharing your video. Bless Be... Steph in Alaska
Wow. That blonde one which you wore to open this (and throughout most of your filming) is STUNNING on you. I chuckle to picture how you must have reacted to it on the day you first encountered this intensely flattering option; I imagine you looking at the mirror, how your eyes must have flashed wide for a second, your jaw slightly ajar as you screamed 'YES!' internally. We all know 'it' when we see it, usually immediately and it's just the best feeling no matter the subject/item in question. Gorgeous on you in every possible way, so so flattering.
Thank You for such a a great video, I'm just starting to look into toppers. I have thinning hair on top of my head. Along with a small bald spot where I had a shunt surgery in my brain. And where they made the incision, of course the hair never grew back. This video is so full of very good information, that it's almost overwhelming to me. Because I'm not sure where I need to start. The thought of clips does not seem like a good idea because I think they're going to pull on my hair. And I like the idea of the hairline netting I'm not sure if that's the right description sorry. I have hair that is Just below my shoulders one length all the way around my head. So I was wondering what about headband toppers? I think I saw a previous video about that. but the person talking about it didn't go into a lot of detail. about it she just quickly flashed the item. Do you have other videos explaining headband toppers? I like the idea of humans hair. Also I would be interested in something that's not going to obtain heat to my scalp. Any suggestions you might be able to give me for these issues I mentioned would be very much appreciated Thank you so much. Looking forward to seeing other videos if you offer them.
That's a great wig on you! This is the first time that I saw you and I thought that was your own hair until you took it off! I can usual spot a wig, but not yours! This was a very informative video, thank you! I just subbed :)
Superb video Denise I wear toppers unfortunately I should have bought a bigger base but hey ho. I bought some self adhesive hair patches/pads so I don't have to use all the clips on my thinning hair 👍
I have never heard of these patches, and google mostly gives me tape as result. Could those be named 'hair grippers' perhaps? Hairdressers seem to use them instead of clips
I like Godiva's Secret toppers. And they now are developing one that is a lot thicker for people who want more hair, but not a full wig. They are beautiful synthetic that looks very real and so much easier to take care of.
You are amazing for explaining everything and ❤ for all the sisters. I feel so blessed to have found this! 😊 from Ontario, 🇨🇦 Is there an option for Swimmers?
I always wear a cheap Amazon headband wig up in a messy bun when I am swimming. Here is a video on the wig I am talking about: th-cam.com/video/xQK2Sl2HN4k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WG_3YcfcHaTJI3g_ (NOTE this wig needs a lot of thinning and trimming to work well in an updo and I have a video showing how I did it)
Thanks Denise. Sherry
Thank you SO MUCH! I learned something new and appreciate you taking the time to share!
Sherry
Thank you for sharing these tidbits of topper pointers. I’ve been wearing toppers for years and am dipping my toe into wigs.
@sidl9357 I didn’t know about curved bobby pins - how do you use them? Do you put them thru the topper first as if they’re clips, then into your bio-hair or do you clip them overtop of the topper thru to your bio-hair?
You are wearing the most natural wig I’ve ever seen. I would NEVER have known you were wearing a wig!! Well done 😊
Thank you! 😊
Congratulations for offering yourself as a model and not shying off showing your thinning hair on the scalp... you are very pretty indeed with all the confidence to promote what you are projecting
Thank you so much!
You said you’re 51?!? Wow! Denise you look great! From watching your earlier videos to now, it looks as if you’re reverse-aging! Beautiful!
Thank you! I cleaned up my diet completely and that has made a world of difference!
She looks lovely, I thought she was 30 something. Such a helpful video too, so a big thanks to Denise.
I have been searching for a salt and pepper topper for a while. I am with you. I have the money, where is my topper???
It does not ruin your hair and it thickens it giving it shine and reducing frizziness
It could be a solution to find a color matching topper
I agree. She looks good in a light brown to medium brown and highlights in it would look great.
Brunette color is so rich and classy. Don't get everyone going blonde, it's tiring.
I love this! Thank you so much for sharing!
I am so sorry for your sister's health and will say a prayer for all of you. Thank you so much, what a kind thing to say! You just made my day, hugs!
Check out my post on for oils that will help grow hair I have cancer and I use this and my hair grew back you use argon oil castor oil olive oil and coconut oil equal amounts of each into a container put it into your hair dry leave it in overnight rinse it out the next morning use your shampoo and conditioner and keep doing this process as much as you want because it’s all natural oils and you will see your hair growing back so will your daughters this works I researched it for a year and everyone can afford this it’s better than using chemicals on your hair because this is all natural oils give it a try coconut oil olive oil castor oil and Oregon oil equal amounts
If you can braid the hair then braid the hair and it’ll keep the oil in longer and be more effective it’s effective anyway but just braiding it keeps it from drying out Even if it dries out it’s still affecting the roots and the hair shaft the coconut oil helps grow hair returns hair to natural colour are going to oil helps with split ends and shine cast or helps with growth and olive oil is a deep conditioner so give it a try you will not be sorry that you’ve tried this I hope this helps it help me my hair is down to my waist now
Thank you for the info…i have thinning hair now and going gray all over.still coloring my hair which im so tired of…im 71,from the phils ..i’ll try this oil remedy but doubt if i can find argon oil here…hopeful this works for me😢
Lol. I am 80 now, but when I was in my 20s, we called those wiglets. I would get a Vidal Sassoon haircut and put the wiglets over it and I had awesome height and curls. Check out those mod pictures from the 60s. I wish those would come back. Maybe the toppers are the same thing.
My mom called it a hairpiece, she wore it as long as I can remember,😊
They used to call those toppers “a Fall” in the 60’s also.
This woman speaks my language! Wiglet! I too am in my nearly eighty year of life and recall Vidal and all the clever ways of adding hair! Never knew I would need these additions so badly.
@@debramccafferty2918 Yup - I remember those. They gave you the look of having long hair!
Thank you so much ❤
I love how open you are it’s such an inspiration to me you are beautiful
I just found your channel through this video. *SUBSCRIBED!* Between menopause and the C 🦠, I have started thinning in the front and at my part. I have been SO distressed because I can see scalp. I have baby, BABY fine, thin hair anyway. So, this has been like adding insult to injury. Thank you SO MUCH! You're doing God's work! 😄
You are The Best, Denise, at giving us all the details on any wig subject. I had no idea toppers covered such a wide range. 💖💕🇨🇦
You are so welcome! Thank you for taking time to comment!
Where can I buy the good topper?
I so love how you explain things Denise! ❤ I got my mom an iPad and subscribed her to your channel so she can learn from you now that she’s started wearing wigs. Her hair loss is very similar to yours, and I am being preemptive and am already using wigs and learning from you more and more every video. Blessings 🙏
The long dark wig looks so nice on you it brings out the colour of your eyes.
Toppers are SO MUCH cooler for the summer! You can put it in an updo and there's nothing on your neck at all - such a difference!
Denise , this 73 grandmother has been told I have a wig on with my own hair , even the hairdresser told me to take my wig off recently to get a perm..I have to thin mine out all the time..I love the wigs you love too have watched u for awhile..
The brunette wig looks amazing on you.
Thank you so much for helping me understand my new journey as a wig sister. ❤ By the way, you look fabulous.❤
You have a beautiful face, even without a wig!! Thanks for the information.
I'm gonna check that out
Thank you for your tips. I just recently started wearing a hair topper and you have been more helpful than the wig salon where I purchased my topper. I have curly bio hair and it was a chore finding something that blended with my own hair. You have been most helpful.
I'm so glad!
You are such an inspiration Denise! And your beautiful! Just starting my wig journey and learning so much from you. Just bought the iRestore helmet as a last resort. Need toppers while I give it a chance to work. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Denise, I thought your presentation was really well done carefully thought out and I subscribe to your channel because I think you’re great and wonderful introduction to the world of wigs for us ladies who need it thank you
YAY! Thank you so much!!! Welcome to the wig sisterhood!
Oh my gosh Denese this was such a helpful video. My hair is thinning and before too long I’m sure I’ll need some help.
They wear so much longer than a wig, too
Once you can find the right color and style blend, you need to buy a couple.
Wow! So much info! I have not made the plunge. But now I don’t feel so uncomfortable about doing this in the foreseeable future!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
That pixie topper (20:15) looks incredible on you! You’re beautiful in all the wigs, but this one - wow!
Ty. I couldn’t wear wigs, they itched. Toppers are helping me❤🍰
I'm so glad to hear you have found something that works!
Love that you did this detailed topper review. Would you consider selling any of these? ❤
Thank you so much, Nancy! I'm so sorry they didn't work for you, so frustrating. Hugs!
If you have a problem with hair growth try using
Argon oil castor oil coconut oil and olive oil combine these into equal amounts put it in your hair just after dinner it will soak into your hair before you go to bed rinse out the next day and repeat as many times as you want you can keep it in the fridge it will melt in your hand when you want to use it and saturated through dry hair do not put it in wet hair and keep doing this as many times as you want and you will grow hair
castor oil grows hair and olive oil is a deep Conditioner coconut oil grows hair and returned your hair back to the natural colour and Argon oil is for shine and split ends use this as many times as you want and you will grow hair it’s guaranteed I researched it for a year
You look so good in golden brown hair!
Hi Denise! Hey wig sister(s)!! What a great video! Love your videos Denise! So informative and you just make me feel like I’m not alone in my feelings and struggles. Thank you!!
❤️💜💚
You are so welcome! HUGS!
The cap had open areas where us could pull your own hair through
to blend in the topper hair & your hair. I’m going to
my grandsons wedding in 4 days . The place I went to has closed now. I don’t no where to go . I need a topper the same length so I can pull it together make a French roll, ponytail..
I might be able to wear it down. I used to be blond. My natural hair was med brown. Now
it is it looks like the brown is gone maybe dark grey with light grey on sides. Weird color lol.
Ty for sharing.
Denise your videos are always so informative! You are so gracious to help your Wig Sisters. Im very curious about Toppers and will likely try one at some point!
So thankful I found you. I am using light cap. Which is slooooowwwwly helping. I didn’t know a there were so many options.
That so great!!
Can you please show me how to cut a wig to make it a topper ?
Can you show me how?
You are definitely not alone!! I agree, the journey is incredibly challenging but you will get there! HUGS!
Thx Denise for the best hair topper video ever! I did not grasp the web site that you recommended and know it was be very wirwhile. Please share!
Also you look 20 years younger, the chestnut color looks great with your eyes!
I like your longer topper. That color looks really good on you.
Great advice! Always something to learn on this hair loss journey. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for your help. You answered all my questions. Brought my toppers and after a couple of months found my hair was getting damaged. So put the toppers away. They cost a lot
Of money. Now I have the inspiration to try again with the band.
Happy Days can get Mrs Glam back!
Marilyn getting older .Ireland
Thank you; this was so informative. I’m going to look into this.
I have shiny, healthy-looking light brown hair reaching nearly my shoulders and I can
comb it nicely. No one realized it was
not my own hair.
Thank you so much for addressing toppers. I just found your channel today and I have a receding hair line in the temples and my bangs are so thin.
I just love and adore you Denise! Thank you for being so amazing and transparent, you are a real blessing!
I haven’t even finished your video but it is BY FAR! This is the best video I have ever watched !
Great information! Thank you so much. I really needed to learn about toppers and you have covered everything!
Whoa!! I’ve never see you blonde! Beautiful! Yep, I would love to check out topper🥰
🦋 when you tried on the tiny topper I thought WOW you would look great in a pixie style 🦋
Thank you!
From wich companies are your toppers ?
You look amazing with the darker hair. You look so pretty.
I just found your channel and have subscribed. Thank you for so much helpful information. I loved your lip gloss; do you mind sharing the color and name with me. It looks beautiful on you. Thanks
You're 51? You look amazing! Toppers are awesome! I started with them, still use them some, but wigs are just easier -- now that I'm used to them! ;)
Thanks for your wonderful presentation. I am shopping for my first hair topper and you have been great by sharing this information ❤
I bought a topper from a company I saw on FB, the eduction you offer is far surpassing theirs.
Great explanations! I have thinning in the part and just purchased Seamless fill in’s from Luxy. I did buy a topper but am having that looks wiggy issue. Oh wow i love the band topper.
after watching this video, a lot of lessons are learned. thank you so much for sharing your opinions and experiences.
Thankyou this is wonderful information, by the way you look beautiful in the darker colors, lovely In blond also,
I suffered a medica mishap and lost a big amount of top hair, I have plenty of back hair but you can see pink scalp if the wind blows,,,,
I would definitely try the thin hair thick hair topper,,,this is a great start thank you...
Wow… I had no idea you were wearing a wig. That 100% look like your natural hair and color. Gorgeous!!!
What if the wind is strong? Won't the wind blow the topper away?
Thanks so much. I have ordered toppers but never seem to get them to work. This helped me a lot so maybe now I can figure out how to use one.
Wow this is great to know….im old and live a little remote from a big city….but now I know I have options for my thinning on top! Thank you!
I appreciate this SO much. Thank you! ♥
You look AMAZING blonde!💯
I love that blonde wig - couldn't find it at the site though. Rats, it's so hard to find natural blonde (non-rooted) shades. Excellent video Denise!
Here is a link to the blonde wig and Denise saves 10%: bit.ly/EmmaHairPieceEW40
That's a great wig on you! This is the first time that I saw you and I thought that was your own hair until you took it off! I can usual spot a wig, but not yours! This was a very informative video, thank you! I just subbed :)
Thank you so much!!
Superb video Denise I wear toppers unfortunately I should have bought a bigger base but hey ho. I bought some self adhesive hair patches/pads so I don't have to use all the clips on my thinning hair 👍
I've never heard of those, what a neat idea!
I have never heard of these patches, and google mostly gives me tape as result. Could those be named 'hair grippers' perhaps? Hairdressers seem to use them instead of clips
@@wendyamsterdam8482 Yes they can be square/oblong shaped or oblong with rounded edges. Hair gripper holders 👍
@@wendyamsterdam8482 I got mine off eBay x
I like Godiva's Secret toppers. And they now are developing one that is a lot thicker for people who want more hair, but not a full wig. They are beautiful synthetic that looks very real and so much easier to take care of.
You are amazing for explaining everything and ❤ for all the sisters. I feel so blessed to have found this! 😊 from Ontario, 🇨🇦
Is there an option for Swimmers?
I always wear a cheap Amazon headband wig up in a messy bun when I am swimming. Here is a video on the wig I am talking about: th-cam.com/video/xQK2Sl2HN4k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WG_3YcfcHaTJI3g_ (NOTE this wig needs a lot of thinning and trimming to work well in an updo and I have a video showing how I did it)
