When you bring your cars back to life you also give them purpose. There is no life without purpose. Sitting in a field with a lot of other “will it runs” is not purpose. I love what you do and how you do it.
LMAO! The suds coming in the door, Dani's reactions, the revs, the screwdriver key! Great to see you guys out in the car, in the snow, making memories and having a great time! That's what they were built for! Well played Dan!
Reminds me of good times as a teenager, neighbor with his '57 and me in my GTO. But, you get to do it while you are grown. What fun it must be. Great stuff!
Reminds me of when I had my 53 F100, drove it year round, even though the optional "heavy duty" heater would only defog an inch of the bottom of the windshield 😆
Dan you could qualify as a true "New Englander"-- Don't brush off the car and drive down the road full speed hoping that by the time you reach your destination the car is all clean! Enjoy the wild ride you call life (we are)!!! 😆
It’s literally my dream car. I’ve loved the 57 Chevy since I was 5 years old. I wouldn’t want a pristine $150,000 all original convertible that I’d be afraid to take out in the rain and snow. This is what I want. Too bad any 57 around me that’s near that solid is still an arm and a leg.
I love your show and admire the strength of your relationship but you live in Manitoba (I haven’t been to Canada in decades but I like the friendliness of the people. ) But watching your videos in winter Boggles the mind of this old Texan. Can’t handle cold when it hits single digits (f) which is rare here double digits below zero and I would look for a bridge to leap from LOL
Considering you have so many cars to choose from, I say "Drive your junk" too. What's more fun than doing donuts in a snow covered parking lot. Ain't doing that with no front wheel drive pos. Some people can't even fathom the fact that people actually drove their 30's, 40's and 50's cars year round and in the snow. That's what snow tires were for. Thanks for the video
Hey Dan, When you live in a place like Winnipeg or Montana, you have to keep your sense of humor. Otherwise the six months of below zero and feet of snow will make you crazy! I built my 57' Bel air wagon for just that reason. Chassis swapped to a 97 Blazer 4x4 FI PS disc brakes etc. but just like yours no weatherstrip, wipers etc.. It starts every time and makes you and everybody else smile on those cold miserable days. Cheap thrills but I know I'm having more fun than most folks. Thanks for the video of your day. Made me smile. (and laugh a little) PS. Stay away from McD's, it's not good for you. Just sayin'...
If it weren't for the massive amount of salt they dump on the roads here I would be driving a muscle car all year. As it is, I sacrifice $500 late model beaters to the salt gods. When I lived in Nebraska they did not put salt down, but here in Michigan we have two seasons, salt and construction. When I was stationed in South Carolina winter was chilly rain, and summer was like Nebraska light weather, no tornadoes or hailstorms. So I drove my 70 GTO daily in Charleston.
Gotta love how much Danni enjoys donuts, her laugh is way too infectious. Thankfully we don't need to be vaccinated because we can all safely laugh along with her.
Just finished getting my 67 Camaro running after 22 years. Now it's back to fixing up my 57 Bel Air sedan daily driver. They are battle tanks! If only people knew what they are missing.
@@carmineredd1198 no it was a 210 model. Not a Biscayne but $125.00 was all I had and it was setting on blocks for sale so I spent all my money on it. Turned out to be a fine car. Had a nice $29.95 Earl Shieb fire engine red paint job on it. I had it til Uncle Sam sent me on an all expense paid vacation in a tropical climate.
You need a 4X4 under that!!! We don't own anything but, lol here in the northwest down in the Yakima Valley in Washington State, Godspeed, keep those videos coming!
I have 2 150's, first one bought in 2002, with a six. Kept the 235, but added a 3/4 cam, headers with dual pipes. Would be running today, had I driven it like a damn adult! (Really loud rod knock)Really cheap fun, like yours!. 2nd one is a RARE Utility Sedan (8300 built in the States), has the optional horn ring like yours. Previous owner added a 283 with the 097 cam, Rodchester FI, Corvette big-mouth manifolds. Painted like a Black Widow, so I call it 'Widow, as a B-W tribute car. NOT numbers matching as it was a factory six-banger car, but I'm keeping it 'period correct' for the early '60's, really nice driver. BOTH cars run a Sagnaw 3.11-low 4-speed, 3.08's out back. They don't have to be perfect to be FUN!
I agree with Glenn Nickerson who commented here as well below! You DO qualify as a true "New Englander"!! I recall the days I owned my 1974 Oldsmobile Omega, which had a Rocket 350 tucked under the hood and inside that beat a Fireball II Crane Cam and Rhodes Lifters, that jacked up the power to at least 350 HP with the rest of the tweaks and mods I had done to it!! As screwed up as it was, not a month after I finished installing the motor my wife and I get into a huge fight and she HAD TO LEAVE or else, things were going to get seriously ugly had she stayed!! The same year (1985) I got stuck driving that Oldsmobile around on bias ply summer tires all winter long, in upstate New York winters!! At the time it was common to get 2 foot snow fall all night long, weeks on end, and in Ithaca New York where I lived, everything is either uphill or downhill from where you needed to go. So I spent a lot of time driving backwards up a road just to grab traction to get where I needed to go!!!
So glad to see that big ol steering wheel. Guessing the heater works since the windshield cleared after the wash. Blue tint glass is awesome. I dunno...prob wouldn't drive it in the salt if it were mine but u got the skills to bring it back if needed
Little more snow, but reminds of driving around where I live about 2-3 weeks ago. Ice and snow. My wife and I were in Fabricland about a week before Xmas. I agree with ya, if you sell regular Coke you should sell Diet Coke. Nice day in the life of video. Do agree that a modern EFI engine is great for a daily driver. But an old school big V8 is still way cool for a hotrod. Hope you enjoyed the McDonalds regardless. Be safe and stay well.
Dan - where the hell's the trailer hitch, you need a good one that's tied to the frame then next time you don't have to reach under and fish around for hook-up. You gotta have one so you can forget it's there and rip your shin up, she ain't no good if it doesn't draw blood. Rock On !!
I daily an 89 K5 Blazer not as cool as daily-ing a 57 but still cooler than most vehicles on the road. It’s currently down for body/paint and several other upgrades while things are tore apart. I hope to have it back on the road by July. I live in the Chicagoland area and have to deal with things freezing up too. I keep a small butane torch (like for cooking) to thaw locking mechanisms to be able to shut the doors, etc. Just found the channel and subscribed. 57s are my favorite for sure and on my bucket list hopefully one day I’ll get one.
We had similar issues heading down to Florida last month we opened passenger rear door and latch froze door swung open when entering freeway. We used ratchet strap to hold it until we reached Georgia and temperature warmed up and started working. We stopped at Buc-ees and I spilled my 84 ounce red fruit punch carbonated drink on me and front seat definitely building cup holders for my 57s.
Cool you guys are driving the 57 I have a 57 Chevy story There is the guy that lives near me who's old now he only ever droves 57 Chevys his whole life he has six of them he has to Winter 57s and the rest of summer fun he's a cool guy he won't sell any cars or parts is a four-car garage stuffed with lots of parts he hates Tupperware cars so do I have a great day Merry Christmas thanks for the video
Fun car to drive! F-Bombs! Too few to count. When i Braap the Fargo i get yelled at…hey, speaker hole will make a great cupholder! You have the skills..
I ran a 68 Camaro for awhile, i always carried chains, and a couple bags of salt in the trunk, it doesn't snow much on southern Vancouver island but it is wet, slippery crap, you know how to tell if someone is spending their first winter on Vancouver island, studded snow tires lol
LMFAO.... Car wash covered in snow.... comes out still snow on it, and probably icy now...!! Hopefully you got your wiper blade back! Saw it take flight when it was getting the blow dry! Hard to deny the LS and its reliability.
Well hello from Gordon .Feb 20-2022. Yippee-ki-yay the black widows is lose . all right ready Dan for a cruise a long vedio the joy of the ride along . thanks also watch the live chat . young man who build 57 black& white is great . But there a car you own need to drive the 47 chevy want out !! funny to say its not been droven while buddy .from Gordon in mt morris michigan .🇺🇸🚦🚦👀🇺🇸👀👀👍
That was to funny, This is why I never drive my old car though a car wash 😂. Also that fact that it broke my windshield and ripped off the side mirror of my 66 caprice 😟
No way in hell I'd live in Canada.....I hate the snow and I'm in Ohio....but we're seeing 60's and low 70's here just before April, with snow in the rear-view!!!
Oh man, poster board and flannel, necessities of life right there. I think one of the Tri Fives needs to have a Canadian Tuxedo interior, all flannel, red green and yellow of course. Dan you have a Bobcat, you could clear the snow from the parking spot before parking there again.. Also we need to work on your chain skills.. heh..
I really dig the no door panels and lack of gaskets to seal off the doors, cup holder sets to the right of you and the heat.... way too hot inside/lol, not
"Drive your junk" I completely agree! People worry too much, and letting a car sit for 6-8 months isn't doing it any good either.
My philosophy is "If I'm fixing it, I'm driving it AND if I'm driving it, I'm fixing it."
Neither is the salt....it destroys cars in a hurry. And that ain't "junk", it's a classic car.
I love this car being a driver. Just like they should be. Not locked in a Garage under a cover
When you bring your cars back to life you also give them purpose. There is no life without purpose. Sitting in a field with a lot of other “will it runs” is not purpose. I love what you do and how you do it.
Spoken like a true lover of automobiles!
@Rejected-From-Eve .Zero That's rad! Are you still enjoying it?
Dan you are a true canadian hot rodder🇨🇦💪🏽
LMAO! The suds coming in the door, Dani's reactions, the revs, the screwdriver key! Great to see you guys out in the car, in the snow, making memories and having a great time! That's what they were built for! Well played Dan!
Ì
Washing that 57 in sub-freezing temps.was lunacy, let alone driving it on salt covered roads. We all know that's hard on everything on the poor car.
OK - a restored 57 Chevy, wipers don't work, can't close doors and trunk, covered with snow, let's get the car washed !!!! Dan, you are the the best!!
Got 'em bukkitt seatz tho'
Boy that brings back memories from the 1970s in Michigan I can remember my father doing the same thing .😊
I had almost as much fun as y'all just from watching this cruising.
❤ love your videos awesome Contant😊
didnt kno there was a good mcdonalds they are only good for breakfast lol cool 57 love it ty again for the entertainment
At least you guys are having fun and enjoying life
Dan you could qualify as a true "New Englander"-- Don't brush off the car and drive down the road full speed hoping that by the time you reach your destination the car is all clean! Enjoy the wild ride you call life (we are)!!! 😆
As a fellow Winnipegger, I think we all let nature brush our cars off 😂
We do that in Chicago too 😂
we do that in NJ to lol
Dan you must be the COOLEST CAT in Winnipeg !!!! just out on a Saturday run, doing errands in a 1957 in 2022 LOL LOVE IT !!!!!
Just sounds right !!! Nothings sounds as good as an old school small block
I know you like your '55 the best Dan, but for me this is my favorite.
Gotta love it! Frozen cars, just another day in the north..........
If you're having fun it's all good! It reminds me of the 'Black Widow' race cars of the 50's.
That's awesome, I wonder how many people were pointing and saying you were crazy 🤣
Love the car man!
It is amazing we all survived with only rear-wheel drive and studded snow tires, hey? Manitoba, is a Winter Wonderland. Spring anyone? Cheers!!

So true. The world never ended before AWD, and carburetors do work above sea level..... lol
Looks like my back yard in Regina. Still waiting to get my 56 Chev out of the garden.

I smiled through the entire video. Thanks...
Love Saturday morning shopping
Now that’s a true muscle car !!! That’ gets driven on the road all year round I had a 71 nova that drove all year round talk about people staring lol

She sounds RAW!
you can keep that weather. happy with my aussie weather even though its cooling off and its +24c
Now I see where all your shirts come from - Dani makes them!
Gotta love how much Danni enjoys donuts, her laugh is way too infectious. Thankfully we don't need to be vaccinated because we can all safely laugh along with her.

Amen to that man. Nothing like stepping back into time and feeling what was felt back then..... and it all worked.
Right on! I just finished my 62 bug. It's back to daily driver status!
Man, I love that car. Reminds me of my 210 two door I had in the late 60s in high school. 👍I like the 150s better now.
you had a Biscayne in high school ? couldn't you afford an Eldorado ?
@@carmineredd1198 no it was a 210 model. Not a Biscayne but $125.00 was all I had and it was setting on blocks for sale so I spent all my money on it. Turned out to be a fine car. Holy , DD speedshop on a Sunday morning. Where’s my coffee?
Man, you guys got hammered by snow this winter ! Here in Western Iowa, we didn't even get 5 inches all winter.
I do the same with my old cars. You gotta enjoy them ! Good video
BLACK WIDOW 1957 CHEVROLET 150 REAL ICON REAR SO SERIOUSLY COOL 😎👌
Still can't get over the great sound.❤
man I love that 57 and it sounds awesome
I really like the color of the glass in that car
You need a 4X4 under that!!!
We don't own anything but, lol here in the northwest down in the Yakima Valley in Washington State, Godspeed, keep those videos coming!
Snow is finally melting, highways are now dry, on the way to Lockport
Good old rust chevys lives & its pretty cool job . 57 black wiggle is looking great dude.
That car is so badass

That 57 is a sweet ride
Hahaha. I just pulled my 2006 charger out of the front driveway, yesterday. Nearly all winter it had three feet of snow on it.
Fun ride man thanks

Awesome 👍🏻👍🏽 good to see it out and about 😀👍🏻👍🏽
Cool af that you daily got cars. Love it

Hello DD Speed Shop.
There’s 3.78 liters in 1 US LIQUID Gallon. That equates to $6.80 a gallon @ $1.80 a Liter.
What a great day out 👍👍🇨🇱
I need to build an LS powered winter car.
You need to put flame throwers on the back of the 57 so you can melt the snow away.
Ah, springtime in Winterpeg.
Yep..snow tires n sand bags in the trunk
I really dig the no door panels and lack of gaskets to seal off the doors, cup holder sets to the right of you and the heat.... way too hot inside/lol, not
