  • The Bergara B-14 Stoke is built from the ground up to fit those of a smaller stature. The well finished stock has many features that would make it better suited to those with a smaller frame... that I am not.
    However, the reason why I have purchased one, and also the reason I believe many others will too, is too get their hands on the wide selection of short action cartridges with stubby barrels to make use of the B-14s Remington 700 Footprint to drop into 99% of available stocks/chassis.
    There will be more to come on the channel featuring this rifle, so be sure to subscribe to see how it ends up.

    I think you’ve nailed it there buddy!
    I’ve said before, the Stoke will be the best selling model after the B14R and HMR (which both have a significant headstart) for all the reasons you mentioned!
    Solid review that!

    Is the underside of the forend flat enough to fit an ARCA or picatinny rail (similar profile to the HMR)? Or do you think you'd be limited to bipods with a sling stud mount?

      @jcprecisionrifle  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question!
      So the flat width just infront of the magazine is 1" and that then contours around ½" either side to the edge. The entire stock then narrows towards the front of the rifle down to around ½" of flat surface and 1½" including the contoured edges.
      So, if you're precise with a drill you could easily mount a short ARCA section towards the magazine for use with a tripod and again if you create an adition fixing point you could get a good length section of picatinny right up to the front of the stock for bipods.
      Hope that helps

    Do you by chance know what ammo bergara designed their 22-250 1:9 barrel twist rate for?
    I was looking at that Stoke model but got a B14 HMR in 22-250 caliber. 1:9 tweeter rate.
    I can't get anywhere close to sub MOA groups.
    Tried numerous store box ammo here in the States. Even started to have a buddy hand load different loads. Lots of time and money already spent and still the best groups I can get at 100yds is maybe 2.5 inches.
    I'm a shooter. I can't shoot tight groups with other guns. I'm not saying that the group size is 100% the gun/ ammo I tried, but it's not all on me either.
    I read that it might like 64 to 77gr lead?
    Amy help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

      I don't know about the .22-250 unfortunately. But in my limited testing so far (not in this video) my .223 did seem to like 69gr Norma Gold Targets

      Bergara lists the ammo on their website. Also, clean the paint off the aluminum chassis,… these problems should be well documented on the interwebs. I hope you get her shooting well!

    Accuracy wise is it performing well?

    • @jcprecisionrifle
      @jcprecisionrifle  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      At the moment I can't give a conclusive answer. 3 out of 6 boxes I tried were sub-moa, BUT, this was with the rifle really not fitted to me well and the scope mounted too high to get a proper, repetitive cheek position.
      I hope to have it out and into a chassis soon and then Part Two will follow with some accuracy testing.
      BUT.. it does come with the standard Bergara Sub MOA guarantee, so if there was any major issue out the box, I'm sure Bergara would sort it.

    You said Remington 700 clone? So every Remington 700 stock ist going to fit with this?? Did I get this right?

    • @jcprecisionrifle
      @jcprecisionrifle  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That is my understanding. Obviously I haven't tried it in every stock or chassis. But I've not heard of a B14 not fitting in a Rem700 footprint.

    • @jcprecisionrifle
      @jcprecisionrifle  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Did you have a specific chassis in mind?

    • @sparkplug161
      @sparkplug161 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks for the answer! No, nothing special - I am only brainstorming. I am looking for an affordable 223 bolt action rifle that is very light and short. What do you think about barrel lenght and velocity?
      B14 extreme sierra uses a 18" inch barrel.

    • @jcprecisionrifle
      @jcprecisionrifle  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @sparkplug161 the Sierra was also one I considered. Lovely looking stock but as I was going to be going straight to a chassis I decided to go with the Stoke.
      Velocities from what I've tested as follows:
      Norma 55gr .223 FMJs - 3056fps avg
      Norma 69gr .223 Match - 2620fps avg
      Sako 55gr Gamehead - 2919fps avg
      Hornady 55gr Varmint Express - 2928fps avg

      Well, I am looking forward for the stock you gonna choose. I hope you gonna make a video about it then.
