@@long-range-eliminator I've always referred to the 7stw as the 7FTW lol.
I dont know why they went with the 300wm instead of the 300prc.... aside from the faster 1:9-1:8.5tw needed. A 30cal barrel in 1:10tw is kinda boring. Bergara has 1:9tw blanks on the rack so I don't get why they didn't just put a 300prc in that stock with the fluted barrel.

20" in 308 is perfect! Bergara makes accurate smooth rifles. It would have to be in any prc chamberings for me to add to my hunting rigs. Not that older ones are not suffice, I just choose precision. Love the stock, and the camo/ceracote is sexy.

  • @guerrierweg

Tried out this rifle at the range last summer. The ergonomics are fantastic, with a lot of familiarities to the Bergara HMR stock but with a fuller palm swell on the pistol grip, and the weight makes it perfect for the hills. It lacks an adjustable comb but I found the fit to be spot on. The carbon fibre stock has a wonderful feel to it. Great review, thank you.

Have one and shoot the same bullet you did 2906 FPS, 1/2-inch groups at 100 yds. At first it wouldn't feed or eject properly, but I kept on using it and it started working great. Seems like it kind of needed to break in. you can also take the magazine apart and change the tension on the spring by bending it and experiment until it feeds. Would buy it again. Love it. Love the looks too. It seems like the spring is too strong and the shells jump out of the mag. to hard. I have several mags, and some work perfect, and others need a little tune-up.

How do you like the stock on the rifle? Does it have any texture to it in the grip areas? Does it feel cheap or brittle? I see the cutaway and worry about it getting damaged easily. I see they now make it in the 7 PRC. That is what I would get it in. I would also like a 3-round magazine if they make one. I do not like my magazine hanging down in my hunting rifle. I see you can also get a hinged floor plate for it now so I would be tossing that around as well. Another great video. Thank you! Good Hunting to you from Maine North Woods Hunter

30-06 would be a great chambering. I think Bergara chambers only 3 models in that caliber and none are what would be considered a premium rifle. It’s also a great all around caliber. Folks like me aren’t really interested in the latest barrel burner calibers.
I know that Bergara will get under 1/2 moa that you want with hand loads. My 7-08 Ridge does 1/2 moa on a bad day with mine.

That looks like a great rifle. Begara is absolutely the best rifle for feature set, accuracy, and cost. I find it a little amusing that the.308 just keeps trucking on despite everyone predicting it's demise. Truth is inside of 500 yards it's fine for any hoofed game in the world, except the big African buffalo. Outside of 500 yards there's so many other variables that outweigh the caliber, not the least of which is the person pulling the trigger.

I am getting consistent flyers. Even after mailing it back for warranty and waiting 6 months. I have ordered a re-crowning set as the last 1" of bore and crown look terrible. I will cut and re-crown then bed as shown in this video. I hope it fixes the issue, as Bergara will not. I have tried various quality mounts/optics, hundreds of dollars worth of various premium ammos and patient cold bore shooting. I am still getting consistent 3" flyers at 100m. Thanks to Island Outfitters in Victoria for their support.

Are carbon fiber stocks good for the long hual for decades of use like wood and polymer. The lighter weight is firing me up. I just worry about the carbon fiber stock.

What’s your take on this vs. the Springfield waypoint and weatherby 307?

I hear you mention seating depth on a regular basis as a method of handload tuning. Though when I speak to other folks in the hand loading community I am repeatedly met with a similar answer revolving around “seating depth is an out of date tuning method, bullets nowadays are so flexible on jump distance that it’s no longer necessary. Just seat 20thou off lands.”
What do you think of this?

An aside, with all of these Rifles coming out with the Quick Detach sling mounts why the heck is the market still only providing military straps for this configuration! Love to see a 6 dasher or a competition chambering, After buying a HMR Premiere in 300 PRC I would just buy a barreled action and put it into a MDT stock looking at balancing for PRS or competition.

Is the barrel on this rifle as heavy a barrel as the wilderness or is it a lighter barrel

I have a Wilderness HMR in 300 WM and am considering a lighter companion for it in the same chambering... at ~ 3 lbs. lighter this is a very viable option for that purpose.

I wish I had that ammo as “surplus” from hornady. Heck I don’t even live that far from the plant and grew up 20 minutes away. My rem 700 sps doesn’t get much ammo love.
Also if they made 3 options to save some weight but one wasn’t a combo of carbon barrel AND stock…what the heck.

Similar to the 2020 Waypoint but the waypoint comes in 6mm Creed and the Crest does not unfortunately.

This rifle is a bit longer on the European market because Bergara is an Spanish company. I got mine last autumn. It’s an 20” 308 too. I am using factory lead free ammo from RWS. Mainly used for deer hunting. My initial thoughts were, that I wanted a rifle with an extendable stock. But thanks to the straight grip, the two extensions wich are delivered with the rifle are enough. This rifle feels so natural and perfect balanced. I use it with an Stalon X108 suppressor. Thanks for the really good video and greetings from Germany
