@@Papanchasonline sorry totally forgot about that as I was posting my other comment. Huge congratulations on the 1k subscribers, it’s a milestone that should not be trivialised. I’d love one of your stickers mate!
While I'm putting a Himalayan in my garage, I can appreciate someone selecting the MT450. Even more on point, as a youtuber, you can get a leg up now on the MT450 audience - there's already a ton of Himy videos/owners. I think you're positioned for more subscribers this way.
What was your reasoning for landing on the Himy if you don't mind me asking? I didn't get the chance to ride the MT prior so it was a risk I took going from what I'd seen online alone. True, although Im seeing a TON of MT content on here... I'll get some riding and ramblings out in time. Very excited to get this thing out on some real dirt.
So was I after riding the Himy, but something about it just wasn't quite right for me, it felt a little tame in comparison. Lets see how the CF plays out!
I was expecting the Himalayan as well. You’ve absolutely, definitely, positively, done the right thing by trading in the Interceptor. Congrats Jay, you are one lucky man getting hold of the CF Moto. After I go to the NEC bike show next month, I may very well leave there, and have decided to pull the trigger on this same bike, and it’ll be really hard having to wait for Spring until they arrive.
It was a calling from the gods! Felt like the Greenlight to go ahead... so I did. Despite the complications that soon followed. I will let you know if I am at the NEC matey - I will post what I can but any questions, drop em over and Ill try it out - coming back with some gold in the form of answers for you.
I got a call from the dealer this week to say that the 450MT I ordered after the ABR at the end of June had arrived early. Wasn't expecting it until February but should be collecting next Friday or Saturday. Can't wait 😁 I also bought the 450NK after seeing it at the London bike show back in March, after a 40 year break from motorcycling, and I love it. It sounds great too. 👍🏼 And, I've been told that the plate for the 450MT ends in CFM.....it's own personalised number plate. 😂
@@mogden2803 score! That is SUPER exciting. Excited to hear hours you find it… I’ll have to take a look at the NK as I’m relatively new to CF moto. Love it! Keep us updated with the MT!!
Hey Max - did you land on either? Or just gave em a test ride? Cant quite remember what you are currently riding on! Thanks dude - I'll have them ready very soon, let us know if you'd like one, happy to ping one across.
We’ve got a similar story! I did a euro trip on my Inty last year but have recently sold it too. I rode both the CF and new Himalayan. Felt the Himalayan rode more like a naked and the CF more like an adventure or dual sport. In the end I got an old himi 411 brand new for £3500. It’s got bucket loads of character albeit a slight lack of power but I much prefer it to the new one. I work for a touring company so get to ride bigger adventure bikes when away. If I had a bit more cash I’d of gone with the CF, I think it’s an epic bike for the money. If you ever need a place to stay in Cornwall give me a shout, I have a garage and spare room for bikers in need!
@ love this summation. The old Himy looks beautiful - I’ve never actually ridden one! The power was the only off putting thing for me, when in the sticky situations it’s nice to have it.. saying that it is actually affordable and that’s a big point. Bikes + insurance are an absolute minefield. Man what a DREAM - you work for a touring company?! Thats incredible. I’ll be sure to let you know when I’m down mate, sounds lovely.
Just picked up my mt two weeks ago had 650 gs himmy 411 and this is the bike I have been looking for 8 years it’s just fantastic to ride so engaging as you say the throttle is a bit twitchy but if you down load the cf moto app there is something to download to sort it out carry on
Congrats! Yes, I have heard it can be remapped at the service which I’ll be looking forward to. Haven’t managed to find it on the app? Glad to hear you are enjoying it though mate!
Although I am not an "adventure" bike guy (even though I do own a Triumph Tiger 1200 Explorer in the stable), I believe you need to find a bike that fits you best (or at least a style). My ride of choice is the Triumph Rocket 3 TFC and just today I was on some dirt road in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Love it! But sometimes the ADV makes sense. But I never look back at it as I do with my Rocket or my 18 year old customised Speedmaster. Done many a big tour, 2 already locked and loaded for next year. Every motorcycle is an adventure bike. I will miss the Interceptor but hope you enjoy your new ride. Keep safe!
You know, Id always been against ADV - I just didn't like the idea. It was MX or nothing - but recently I guess Ive grown up a little, aged a little... and have come to realise that functionality is king for me at the moment. I agree with your comment on every bike is an adventure bike - lets be honest, most bikes can endure plenty, and adventure doesn't necessarily have to be throwing it down in the dirt. The inty proved that to me during Europe - BUT - for me, I think Ill be spending as much time on the tarmac as I will off it, and really enjoy having the capability (of bike) to let it rip and not worry too much. I will miss it too dude! But lets see how the CF does - its fun to mix it up.
Health to ride bud.. The Mt is definitely on my radar as a second bike. A lot of Testers have said about the chopping throttle at low revs. But they feel it's a mapping issue that the company might be able to sort out with a remap at a service. As for tyres. I appreciate you'll have sent a wadge of cash changing the bike. I can highly recommend the Dunlop Trail Max Raid rear and TKC80 front... Or the dunlop front... They both ride amazingly on tar and mud.. These are the tyres I rode the passes in Europe and what I used on my dji drone tracking video in the mud hills of donegal..
Health to ride... IT IS CHOPPY. It probably looked like I'd never ridden a bike in my life as I idled my way through 20 grid locked traffic. I have heard this, and will absolutely be requesting it. Thanks for the rec man, I'll ride these out, drop the pressures 10psi for the time being and get some of these on once they are slick. I may well pop over to Ireland next year at some point so will be giving you a shout for recs. Have enjoyed the MT thus far but 120 miles just isn't enough to comment, give me a couple more weeks!
Thank you! As you can probably tell I dig it very much. Lets see if I can make up few thousand during the winter (or before it rolls around) I think much of the remainder of this year will be dirt for me.
So happy for you! Hope the MT is exactly what you are after. As for the forum, I think your best bet is Discord. Nice to work with and moderate, flexible enough and easy for people to find what they need.
Watched your Himalayan vlog, enjoyed it, have watched a butt load of Himmy vlogs, and many MT 450 vlogs also. Test rode a Himmy last week, thinking 🤔 I am a Himmy guy, but love to hear different perspectives… Thanks!
Hey Rob! Thanks for coming by man. Id be interested to know how you found the Himy? What sold you on it? I appreciate it's so difficult to get a real feel for the ADV bikes on a short test ride. Im ALL EARS dude, let me know if you have any questions or thoughts and Ill chip in and feedback during a vlog
More of a single cylinder man myself, but i gotta say, that does sound awesome. Stock pipes? Also, well done on the 1000 subs. Hopefully, I'll get there one day!
@Papanchasonline Please do. I'd recommend the Long Mynd video. Somewhere you might like to take the MT in the future. Good luck with the new bike and look forward to seeing some content out on the trails. 👍
I like it, and it's a bit different from what a lot of people might expect which is always fun. Look forward to seeing what you do to it to make it your own.
I’ve ridden one. I got a Himi. Why? For a travel bike it’s too short geared - the revs are high at 100kmh - the gearbox was a bit crap, throttle is snatchy and stock ergos isn’t as good.
Love to hear these thoughts mate. I’ll only know in time, but I have to say, for ‘off road’ I am loving the MT. Saying that, the Himi I agree is a smoother ride and was beautiful for covering distance on. Haven’t had long enough with the MT just yet to tell…
Ive seen nothing but, which did nudge me heavily into the sporadic 'you've got a day to decide' buy. Which even by my account is wild. Thank you mate, appreciate the comments as always. How are the lanes out where you are?
@Papanchasonline ... We've got some brilliant lanes here in North Yorkshire, stunning views as well 👌, some do get closed over winter months to stop them getting to damaged. Have you ever ridden up here?
@@yorkshiretink3188 I have never been to Yorkshire... other than riding through it to get to Scotland - would love to come explore a little up that way sometime very soon. It's always a bit of a risk hitting unknown lanes alone. I need to build a bit of a crew to head out with!
