- hey guys so I wasn't going to upload thos video and actually filmed it over a month ago but decided to release it as I spent money buying this product and if it didn't perform as expected then it is what it is and I'm jiet going to show the results I got anyway
Hey guys, I wasn't actually going to release this video. I actually filmed it about six weeks ago.
But everyone in the community post I did wanted me to upload it, so here you go.
Thank you for the video Jackson, always happy to see our products performing well in all your videos, us Aussies do crack out some decent stuff 😄😄
Thanks guys, killer products as always
Nice been waiting for this haha, happy the PP performs good. Been using their products for a bit now since started detailing and have been super impressed, their ceramic detailer, foam, soap and deodorising air fresheners really super quality 👌
Yeah their stuff has all been top notch for me too
Ah that sucks for the meguiars but PP doing work
Agreed
New van in black is a bold move haha
Haha yeah not the smartest choice the the price was right
Between Mirch, PP, and bowdens there is really no need to buy other products. Although i still have Meguiar's hybrid paint protection on my ranger, 19 months now and just starting to fail..
Good test, are you doing a tyre black review this weekend?
No unfortunately none of them lasted the week I had of rain and driving on gravel roads.
Might try again on a dry week and show results from both conditions
@@EvolvedDetails that's actually important to inform everyone that the products didn't stand up in those conditions
@@jethrox827 yeah exactly what I thought and the 1 week update will show both.
I should say some of them were still hydrophobic but the blackness was mostly gone
@@EvolvedDetails if someone can get a PhD in breakdancing, you should be able to get one in car care 👍
Hahahaha
i put bowdens own tyreshine v1 on my plastic black trims and that lasts ages. quick tip for ya
Not the only one that’s been disappointed with Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Trim Restorer. I used this on our brand new Subaru XV which has mountains of plastic trim. Even if prepped properly, I could barely see any difference. What is the longevity like on the Platinum Potions ? Does it get ugly steaks in the rains once it starts to wear off ?
Glad it wasn't just me then.
The platinum potions didn't really see any rain for the month or so it was noticeable on the car.
I can't remember if it got streaks last time i used it though sorry
Hey mate, zero streaking reported from customers all over Australia, just use as directed and you shouldnt have any problems (pending your trims arent damaged by UV or other products prior), longevity varies hugely.... On our DD's exposed to the elements 24/7 (rain, hail, shine, rain & left to dry under sun), we get about 3-5 weeks, our weekend driven & garaged cars, in excess of 3 months (again this is based in trims in good condition).
The photo on our website for Trim Coat + shows a good trim, 7years old (weekend driven) and a 50/50 shot of the visual difference, its an OEM+ finish 😄😄
Megs will leave streaks too if it rains. That’s after it’s cured too. I’m going to try Solution Finish. I’ve heard nothing but great things.
Try the Meguiars Ultimate black plastic restorer, its way better than the ceramic one. Greetings from Greece.
Yeah I'm pretty I've used that previously and was pretty good from memory
All i kmow is its cheaper to buy duplicolour trim coat paint and get your real black trim back and add these solutions for extra peotection for longevity. Just my 2cent. 😊
If faded that's not a bad option
Keep in mind these are just simple silicone dressings that will wear off after a few washes.
Yeah exactly, but they should last those few washes and actually darken the plastics in that time.
I will be coating all the plastics on the van soon but before doing so I thought I'd test out these two.
Kind of like a tyre dressing or quick detailer
The chemical composition for Trim Coat + is far from just an off the shelf silicone dressing, its an actual coating (not a dedicated ceramic coating but a coating and not a dressing) & its being torture tested on ATV's & dune buggys exposed to salt, mud & sand in UAE, US and Australia and its proving to be very durable for what it is (easy to use, small amount required, no streaking etc) 😄😄
So bad how cars are treated by dealers using terrible washing practices, you'd think they'd be more aware these days 😊. Platinum looks fab, what a shame about Meguiars, very poor 👎
Yeah it's crazy right
