    Hi Matteo, do you this modification is only good for crawling or can it be used on an all around vehicle? I ordered a CC01 Race Touareg and plan on doing some hop ups but do not want to dedicate it to crawling.

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course the most advantage of the stroke extension link is for crawling over obstacles. If you prefer to use your CC-01 for faster driving, I think it's better to let it without the extensions! (because of the handling in curves)

    i was wondering if you could help me i just bought a cc01 freelander but im wanting to mount a 1/10 ford raptor body on to it and need help figuring how to do it before i make a mistake please help

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +62longtravel As first you have to check the wheel base of the Ford Raptor. The CC-01 have 242mm Wheelbase, I think the Raptor have more, if it's so it's very difficult, you have to modify the chassis to get the right wheelbase.

    I’ve seen Tamiya’s waterproofing bag/balloon solution for electronics but I’m apprehensive about trying it because, it doesn’t look nice and it might degrade over time leaving a mess. I try to avoid products that will eventually decompose or oxidize since RC’s tend to have a very long life. Generic waterproof boxes are available but they look cheap. I’ve been using Traxxas waterproof receiver boxes since they work great, however, that’s just about the only brand available. It sure would be nice if someone else was making waterproof receiver boxes. I don’t like putting “Traxxas” branding on my Tamiyas or other vehicles.

  • @B2D2L
    @B2D2L 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Have you tried to take tha car down a steep downhill after this mod? I'm wondering if this mod will make weight transfere cause the rear axle drop down going down a hill - causing to much weight pushing forward & making the car flip..?

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I found no negative effect like this after the mod, but the CC-01 is not build for hardcore crawling!

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tom Varga The gears for the front drivetrain are completely integrated in the bathtub chassis. The CC-01 have a independent front suspension and it's driven with knuckles. In this video you can see more details from the front gears: th-cam.com/video/mIBqSOOXFm8/w-d-xo.html

  • @MrKyleHubert
    @MrKyleHubert 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    What do you suggest for locking the front Diff?

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kyle Hubert The best way is to use the G-Parts again (Tamiya part no. 9005422). The parts in position 5 are the parts to locking the diff.
      www.rcmart.com/tamiya-parts-jeep-wrangler-cc01-19005422-p-29626.html
      The advantage in this way is it is reversible. A other way is to use hot glue or epoxy glue in the diffs, but this is irreversible.

    It looks good, but feels so wrong. Wont this allow nasty knocks to occur.
    Its like free moving to dampening.
    It looks good though so much more travel but cant it be done with longer shocks so it has no free movement.
    Or is this design well proven ive never seen anything like it until the CC01.

    • @Matteomeier
      @Matteomeier  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'r right, this makes not a perfect suspension, but improves the current CC-01. Because of more travel the wheels have more ground contact and this is an advantage crawling on rough terrain. But of course it's an compromise solution.

    • @Matteomeier

      Atijit Wichettapong You can only do this: th-cam.com/video/-6CRvENwbww/w-d-xo.html But the improvement is not so big, but high price. My recommendation is let the front suspension stock and invest the money in ball bearings, better tires and lock the differentials.

      Habe gerade gestern die beiden Seiten für Selbstbaukarosserie ausgesägt. Jetzt muss ich warten, bis CC01 kommt. Danke nochmals und Gruss

    Hmm, trotz das ich XC / CC01 schon seit der Erscheinung fahre, ist mir das HopUp neu (man wird so alt wie ne Kuh und... ), ABER! ich kann mir einfach nicht vorstellen das dieses HopUp die Performance verbessert, ich denke ehr das Gegenteil! Warum, ganz einfach, das XC / CC01 leidet einfach sehr am Torqu Twist ( Drehmoment bedichgtes verdrehen, also das beim Berg auf fahren das Modell immer ein Beinchen hebt ) und dieses HopUp unterstützt das Problem nur, denn für den Bewegungsbereich des HopUps besteht keinerlei Gegenwirkung wie z.b. eine Feder. Folglich ist dieses HopUp keine Verbesserung, sondern eben eine Verschlechterung. Für den einfachen Feldwegfahrer sicherlich kein Problem, aber im richtigen Gelände wird man damit nur Nachteile haben.
    @ Matteo, ich finde deine Vids trotzem immer schön anzusehen. Daumen hoch für dich und Daumen runter für das "HopUp"

      Vielen Dank für dei Lob Jens! Aber ich muss sagen mit deiner Beurteilung liegst du völlig falsch. Dieses Hop Up ist das beste und nützlichste für das CC-01 Chassis überhaupt! Und das sage ich nicht einfach so, sondern aus Erfahrung und unzähligen Fahrten damit. Ich habe das in zwei meiner CC-01 installiert und es funktioniert perfekt. Deine Befürchtung mit dem "Beinchen heben" verschlimmert sich nicht da die link extension nur den Ausfederweg vergrössert, aber beim Einfedern auf Anschlag geht und danach die ganz normale Federwirkung vorhanden ist. Gerade im "richtigen" Gelände ist die extension ein enormer Vorteil weil dadurch der Bodenkontakt aller vier Räder enorm gesteigert wird (durch den enorm grösseren Flex). Torque twist hat übrigens jedes über Kardanwelle angetriebene Starrachsen Fahrzeug.

    • @Knuggelmuggel
      @Knuggelmuggel 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Logisch hat jedes Kardanellen betriebenes Fahrzeug einen Torqu Twist, aber es ist immer die Frage wie stark. Ein SCX10 z.B. hat praktisch keinen TT, ein XC / CC01 hingegen einen riesigen.
      Das der Ausfederweg vergrößert wird is auch klar und beim einfedern geht der auf Block is auch logisch, aber eben genau deswegen müsste es sich verschlimmern, zumindest theoretisch. Ich gehe davon aus das die Alpen nich so weit weg von dir sind, was dann aber weit weg von mir is, sonst hätt ich gesagt, lass uns doch mal zusammen fahren.

    This is the video where I learned about the stroke extenders for the CC01. But instead I made my own for my first-ever crawler (Tamiya Defender) and video: th-cam.com/video/vHS-DWQAvU4/w-d-xo.html. Anyway: thx for the tip!

      @@Matteomeier ;-) Wo bist du zu Hause? Du hast in deinen Videos immer ein wunderschönes "Testgelände". Ein Flussbett? Ich wohne grad ausserhalb Winterthur. Hier fährt es am schönste an der Thur entlang. Es hat hier auch viele Kiesgruben. Wäre auch perfekt zum Fahren. Aber sie sind allen leider abgeschlossen. Ciao

      @@ericvandenberg5502 Ich bin in Aarau zu Hause. Bei uns hat es auch der Aare entlang einige sehr schöne Stellen. Wir machen hier ja regelmässig auch eine Tour mir Fahrern aus der ganzen Schweiz. Wir nennen uns Aarescaler. Du könntest ja mit deinem Defender auch mal mitmachen? Hallo! Ich hab den Eindruck, dass der Federweg dadurch sehr unrealistisch wirkt. Verbesserung ja, aber auf Kosten des scale faktors. Schau dir vielleicht mal mein video dazu an und sag mir was du denkst - hab dieses Problem darin angesprochen. Eventuell werde ich eine Begrenzung für das Ausfedern einbauen.

      Ja das stimmt schon, habe auch desshalb bei meinen neueren CC-01 Modellen darauf verzichtet. Schlussendlich sind die Off Road Möglichkeiten des CC-01Chassis einfach limitiert, daran kann man nichts ändern. Andererseits sind ja auch bei einem echten Pajero die Fahreigenschaften limitiert, also passt das meiner Meinung auch wenn halt nicht jedes Hinderniss bewältigt werden kann. Übrigens tolles Video von dir! 👍

    Hmm, wondering why this system is not used on real vehicles, cuz it's ridiculous maybe. his is NOT flex, it is only the appearance of flex. Think about it, if the respective wheel is allowed to drop freely, it is not able to support or give traction to the vehicle. This "mod" is for people who think (without really thinking) that this free dropping of the wheel is in any way functional or useful. If you do not understand how things work, leave the thinking to those that DO. If you look at some of the most capable trucks (tons of videos on YT), whether Rc or real, you will see that huge flex is limited to very specialized rock crawling comp rigs, not most trucks. That wheel in the air is no more useful just sitting on the ground not doing a thing. NONE of my rigs have a lot of flex, they don't need it.

      Have you ever drove a CC-01 chassis with this mod and one without, so you can feel the difference. There is no need for so much words....

    • @marcpoletti9511
      @marcpoletti9511 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it's far too limited, all that money into it (any amount of money) will never make it reach the performance of a bone stock SCX 10, let alone an SCX10II, For example, $400 ish. I assume you want it to perform, or is it just a shelf queen? The hobby has moved on from the Tamiya style tech, things got SOO much better, they do look nice though (bodies), but function is OLD SCHOOL. If you think it helps (that mod), great, but I guarantee it won't help it do anything it couldn't already. And yes, there is a need for lots of words, that is how we learn, that is why there are so many different words.

      well, you still have the weight of the unsprung components on the wheel (i.e. the axle, the shock/spring and some of the weight of the other wheel and suspension links). I guess this gives at least some improvement over having the wheel in the air, however you are right that this isn't nearly as good as having a longer stroke suspension which allows the sprung weight of the vehicle to be placed on the wheel.

    How about showing both sides next time as your vague one sided instructions don’t match the instructions that come with the kit? Enjoy your content but you need to be completely thorough
