Recently the word epic has gotten well and truly played out. But it's the only word that comes to mind after watching that. That was about as epic as it gets on the digital battlefield. Funneled like scared rats into a trap ... countless killers swarming over the ridge ... enemy vehicles driving up to within feet of your position ... 45 minutes of hell to see a brick wall seemingly seal your doom only to have what appeared to be an enemy rpg blast open a hole ... a final, coin-toss dash for all the marbles - turn your back to a river of screaming lead, and run. Heads or tails. Up or down. Drag'em or leave'em. Live or die. Epic.
31:10 "Yep" So little can say so much. Also, that breach was the most amazing thing i've ever seen, and that enemy rocket just so happened to be on course to finish the job.
Thank you Dslyecxi, thank you for putting out this content. This is the most amazing video I've ever watched from the Arma community, actually the most amazing video in the ENTIRE gaming community. Thank you!
This is an oldie. Happened to stumble upon it again from my massive favorites list, 7 years later, and god damn is it ever special. It is probably one of the greatest escapes I've seen in all of gaming. And I've watched a lot of amazing things since then. Heres to another 7 for shack tac.
36:55 "Look, Fxxk it, alright? we just got to go now! Drop these guys" "Orders are orders!" "Fxxk it, we got to save ourselves now, leave the bodys" "LEAVE NOONE BEHIND" This scene deserves some soviet style BGM, something heroic but tragic. In real life, it is very hard to do such an action.
PablosCZ Probably? I know I'll have one in a day or so (I was in Alpha 2, so fairly close to Dslyecxi in experience) and there may be a few more people working on vids.
I saw this on Steam news before and I was stunned by how dramatic this mission progressed. Today I was talking to a friend, trying to get him into the Arma club, and the guy said "Arma might be fun to play with but looking at other people playing is completely boring", which I will prove him wrong with this video.
Holy crap... That was some hardcore Ak wielding Alamo stuff right there... Alpha 1 are the only survivors and all because you ordered them away from the cluster of friendlies... Then the enemies being the ones to knock down the wall after your futile attempts to try and breach a hole was so lucky... I feel like I just watched an action movie! This is BY FAR the best thing I've ever seen in an unscripted game with just a bunch of people fighting hordes of AI with severe amounts of ammo. 10/10 Movie of the year, Five Stars.
Gotta say, in most of these videos I've seen lately, it's mostly covering fire. Seeing you guys actually pick out targets to shoot that are close enough and in the open enough for you to see adds a level of intensity I didn't really know I was missing. Close up engagements in the ShackTac environment seem pretty damn intense.
OrNoir I do keep ads on, but only the normal front-end ones and not the obnoxious midroll stuff that channels are pushing these days. Ads are for the masses, Patreon is for anyone who wants to more specifically target their support. One single person supporting through Patreon is worth maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaany ad views.
NotTheFaceDane Yeah, or to have spent all of today and yesterday purely on Patreon-related aspects. It's very gratifying and has really helped me accomplish things that otherwise simply would not have happened due to time constraints.
Holy fucking shit, this has literally got to be the greatest moment in video gaming. Thank you for taking apart in this amazing spectacle of ArmA 2 gameplay, it was fucking beautiful.
Dslyecxi, you constantly amaze me. From flying helicopters like a boss, to making evil TOW jokes, and then this. Words cannot express my amazement at you and your ability to make hilarious jokes and keep everybody's morale up, even when the defecation hits the oscillation (as happened in this video).
So epic. I expected your squad to bite it so many times at the end, but somehow each one of you dodged bullets, RPGs, and even technicals just charging your position. Well done!
That was a breathtaking escape - I also like the fact that you didn't respond to them suggesting that you either knew that wall could be taken down or you were just desperate.
This is freaking incredible! I've never had the 'marathoning-strength' (can't play for more than an hour or 2) that Arma requires, but this made me debate buying a comfy chair and massive coffee thermos and snuggle in for a couple hours.
38:00 It's moments like this I think Call of Duty, Battlefield and a number of other shooters are striving for but simply can't do. This was amazing to watch.
Damn, what's going through your head while having RPGs fly overhead, EI reach danger close, base critically low on ammo, YOU have NO ammo for a good amount of time, yet still stay outwardly calm? This is amazing.
Does anyone remember Call of Duty 2 from way back in the day? The Point du Hoc victory theme goes really well with the ending. See for yourself, start the track around 48:09 Call of Duty 2 Du hoc Assault Victory Relief 2b music
Vide like this that make me wish I was part of an Organised arm clan. Only been one time that I was ever part of an organised mission and I learnt so much, and enjoyed it a ton. Ive missed it ever since.
let me just see what they have new...49m over...let me see again..49m again...let me see the final again....damn, that was some epic shit, great fun u guys had
Wow, that's intense! A great video. At the end, watching you run to the BTR made me duck my head a little, not joking. Such luck with the enemy blowing up that wall, too.
www.pcgamer.com/uk/2014/07/31/this-arma-2-firefight-video-has-a-teeth-gritting-cinematic-ending/ You know Dslyecxi has hit the big-time when PC gamer features him. Great work, love what you guys do man.
Man, this makes me miss my CoD4 community. I wish I had a community to play with now. There's so much shit going on in ARMA's interface that I just don't know what to do with it, and without people to play with I just don't have the motivation to learn.
Amazing video! I really felt the frustration when they wouldn't spread out at the entrance. I can't wait to see more videos like this. Especially in ARMA 3.
Live you're videos! They're just like a movie haha. One thing still: radio discipline, man. Never talk when someone's active on the channel unless it contributes to the situation.
That was epic, I was screaming for you guys to make it when you were running to that vehicle. I think I had almost as much adrenaline in my blood as you did.
36:01 - "Kitkat, no!!"
Two seconds later, where he was standing is a smoking hole.
I think you owe Dslyecxi one.
"My guys are almost completely out of ammo!"
"Yeah."
I was simply acknowledging and had ZERO way to fix it at that point. :-(
Charles Mabbott Haha, no worries, it just really stood out to me as unique and hilarious.
I gotta admit i seriously laughed at that point as well. God, i wish i was good enough to play with you guy. Jesus that was intense.

"I didn't know the walls was destructable, i just thought Dslyecxi was getting desperate"
Priceless :)
31:10
"Yep"
So little can say so much.
Also, that breach was the most amazing thing i've ever seen, and that enemy rocket just so happened to be on course to finish the job.
I still come back to watch this video.
holy fuck that's intense as shit. this is something that COD so desperately wants to be.
"what about the body bags"
"we need to go back"
"no"
Thank you Dslyecxi, thank you for putting out this content. This is the most amazing video I've ever watched from the Arma community, actually the most amazing video in the ENTIRE gaming community. Thank you!
After getting home from about 26 hours of connecting flights it's nice to see another ShackTac vid.
Where do your travels take you?
Evan K
Came back from the Philippines and Japan.
Thought so. I work in Thailand and thought it was odd that it takes me exactly 26 hours to fly home sometimes too lol. Never been to the Philippines.
This is amazing. ShackTac has outdone themselves again. Especially zx64 with the AI/mission on this one.
No matter how many timse i watch this video, it never gets old
This is an oldie. Happened to stumble upon it again from my massive favorites list, 7 years later, and god damn is it ever special. It is probably one of the greatest escapes I've seen in all of gaming. And I've watched a lot of amazing things since then. Heres to another 7 for shack tac.
Better than a movie, action and suspense all around! That wall breach was a nail biter.
36:55
"Look, Fxxk it, alright? we just got to go now! Drop these guys"
"Orders are orders!"
"Fxxk it, we got to save ourselves now, leave the bodys"
"LEAVE NOONE BEHIND"

That was insane... also thanks for highlighting with time code for those of us who don't have 50 minutes to spare :)
***** :o thank you?
Simply the best ending, the wall breaching bit was great!
The enemy rocket knocking down the wall at the end, put this video in the hall of fame for me. Dslyecxi never ceases to amaze me.
Hands down the most epic in-game video I've ever seen!
Also any chance of other ST members POVs videos coming soon?
PablosCZ Probably? I know I'll have one in a day or so (I was in Alpha 2, so fairly close to Dslyecxi in experience) and there may be a few more people working on vids.
You couldn't script a better ending then that. My new favorite Dslyecxi video.
I saw this on Steam news before and I was stunned by how dramatic this mission progressed. Today I was talking to a friend, trying to get him into the Arma club, and the guy said "Arma might be fun to play with but looking at other people playing is completely boring", which I will prove him wrong with this video.

...That. Was. Intense! I wonder what spectate sounded like when all those guys bunched up got hit at once.
This is why I love ARMA. The large scale battles and stuff like this is the coolest thing ever.
This...might have been the greatest thing I've ever seen in an multiplayer games. Ever.
"C'mon Sputnik, wake up!"
"I'm trying" :D
And the last twenty or so minutes were fuckin' insane...and awesome of course ^_^
Gotta say, in most of these videos I've seen lately, it's mostly covering fire. Seeing you guys actually pick out targets to shoot that are close enough and in the open enough for you to see adds a level of intensity I didn't really know I was missing. That ending with this: Mass Effect 3 Soundtrack - Leaving Earth
Absolutely amazing.
That was incredible! I've said it before, but I love your content. And I never skip an advert, because I want you to make more!
He doesn't put adverts on anymore. He uses Patreon nowadays. I really wish AdBlock didn't exist, just harms producers.
I'll have to donate to that then!!
That's really good to know. It must have been very gratifying to release your 'Bounding Overwatch' video as a direct result of your Patreon support.
NotTheFaceDane Yeah, or to have spent all of today and yesterday purely on Patreon-related aspects. It's very gratifying and has really helped me accomplish things that otherwise simply would not have happened due to time constraints.
That was awesome, like a movie. Them trying to break down the wall as the enemies closed in... GLORIOUS!
Holy fucking shit, this has literally got to be the greatest moment in video gaming. Thank you for taking apart in this amazing spectacle of ArmA 2 gameplay, it was fucking beautiful.

Apparently the ending on this video is so epic it got mentioned on PC Gamer. good job!
Wish there were more people who played like this! Taking it a bit more seriously than everyone else. I think it would be a blast to take part in it.
So epic. I expected your squad to bite it so many times at the end, but somehow each one of you dodged bullets, RPGs, and even technicals just charging your position. Well done!
That was pure adrenaline during the breakout from the compound there at the end Dslyecxi. Bravo.
I shed a manly tear at the end when I saw all the other guys saluting... This video was insane!
This is now my #1 favorite youtube video, never thought i would have one, but here it is.
This was amazing, watched the whole thing and loved every second of it..... just, wow...... probably the best one yet.
That ending. What a salute to your survival instincts.
That was a breathtaking escape - I also like the fact that you didn't respond to them suggesting that you either knew that wall could be taken down or you were just desperate.
Can't get a better gaming experience elsewhere. Hope you guys remain a strong group for future years! Awesome community.
I was just thinking "hey I'd sing Katyusha right there", then I heard somebody do it. Love you guys.
This is freaking incredible! I've never had the 'marathoning-strength' (can't play for more than an hour or 2) that Arma requires, but this made me debate buying a comfy chair and massive coffee thermos and snuggle in for a couple hours.
That was quite possibly the coolest thing I've ever fucking seen in a videogame. Bravo, ShackTac.
Holy crap am I glad I watched this. Incredible how with just a game and a couple of friends you can create an experience so intense and cinematic.
38:00 It's moments like this I think Call of Duty, Battlefield and a number of other shooters are striving for but simply can't do. This was amazing to watch.
This, and fire from the sky, are the 2 best things you have ever captured.
Man, these missions just keep getting more and more intense each time!
Well that was intense. I couldn't believe what was happening. So much chaos, rounds, impacts and death. Most intense video since I started watching!
4 years until I can apply for shacktac, if every game comes even close to this, I can wait.
what about now
Only played a few WW2 shooters...never played or even seen an ARMA vid...but I have to say, this was highly, highly entertaining.
See for yourself, start the track around 48:09
Call of Duty 2 Du hoc Assault Victory Relief 2b music
Probably the best video yet. I miss the old days when this was the norm.
Good lord Arma 2 feels clunky as hell after Arma 3.
Jesus Christ thats intense. Time to join one of those servers...
His servers are private :(
I watched this with classical piano music playing over it. Made it even more beautiful.
Wow, that was one of the most intense videos I've watched! Amazing job!
"Who's the little shitpump that ran away with my rifle?"
I'm dyin' over here.
That... was fuckin' nuts, Dslyecxi! Well done, all of you guys!
One of the most epic endings I've seen in a minute. Shit was intense!
Wow. I have no words, just wow
Woah the end was insane, must have been adrenaline pumping.
"Does anybody have a fucking Tokarev?"
"You guys have all got Tokarev mags, wheres the fucking Tokarevs?
This is going in the hall of fame! Just awesome.
I have PTSD now.
That detail salute was amazing man. Gave me goosebumps.
Wow, that's intense! A great video. At the end, watching you run to the BTR made me duck my head a little, not joking. Such luck with the enemy blowing up that wall, too.

You know Dslyecxi has hit the big-time when PC gamer features him. Great work, love what you guys do man.
That salute at the end was also awesome. Good job boys
Man, this makes me miss my CoD4 community.
I wish I had a community to play with now. There's so much shit going on in ARMA's interface that I just don't know what to do with it, and without people to play with I just don't have the motivation to learn.
Thanks for another video, Dslyecxi! I just don't have the words to say anything else.
That guy who gets on that technical, that chap is hardcore.
definitely one of the best videos ive seen of arma 2 gameplay.
This was awesome, was on the edge of my seat towards the end!
That was the most epic session of Arma I have ever seen.
"Hey! This is ammo; mags, frags and pistol mags, alright? - get what you need!"
Absolutely brilliant ending
Its stuff like that that makes ArmA such a unique and persona experience
Well done
I think this will be the whole shacktac year review.
JUST WOW! That has to be the best fire fight Ive seen.
This was probably the best video I've ever seen from you guys.
Amazing video! I really felt the frustration when they wouldn't spread out at the entrance. I can't wait to see more videos like this. Especially in ARMA 3.
This video sets a new, higher personal best for action content and the quality of your videos. Best I've seen in a long time.
"Who is the little shit that ran away with my rifle?"
This got shared on Steam and PC gamer :) Nice one Dslyecxi!
Live you're videos! They're just like a movie haha.
One thing still: radio discipline, man. Never talk when someone's active on the channel unless it contributes to the situation.
Absolutely amazing. Watched it front start to finish.
That was epic, I was screaming for you guys to make it when you were running to that vehicle. I think I had almost as much adrenaline in my blood as you did.
Most epic fps video i've ever seen in my entire life.
When they come. I'll stand my ground. I'll not be afraid. Lay me down. In the cold cold ground. Where before, so many more have gone.
this video exceeded all my expectations. amazingly good to watch.
The arma gods have smiled upon you dslyecxi.
Good form!
Absolutely amazing. Subbed your channel because of this video alone.
The best Arma upload there is.
Having gone through some (pretty basic) military training just makes this game so much more fun! xD
Amazing mission, loved the chaotic aspect!
This is the most amaizing mission I ever saw being played in ArmA :D
